Scheduled an appt thru their system and when I went in for my appt time, they didn't have me scheduled. They were rude, completely unaccommodating & offered zero explanation as to why the system messed up my appt. The office was filthy and waiting room was uncomfortably crowded. The women at the counter are anything but helpful and look miserable. I would give negative stars if I could! Had an appointment at LabCorp and still ended up waiting 45 minutes. What's the point of scheduling if they can't stick to it? The waiting area is tiny, uncomfortable, and honestly pretty ugly. If you plan to make an appointment at this location, plan accordingly. It's near UCSD, so expect traffic during the daytime. I ended up waiting 42 minutes at the Alvarado Rd Street intersection and missed my appointment. However, I decided to ask if they could take me in as a walk-in. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. Make an appointment, do not walk in. You will be required to check in at a computerized system, need ID, and insurance card for optimum experience. Otherwise, desk staff is there and will help. I found the staff average, they are not doing flips and handing out stars. They are friendly enough when asked questions or encouraged to elaborate on something. The accommodate request and are generally helpful. I had a specific request and my phlebotomist searched, when he couldn't find it, he did ask for help and another phlebotomist found what was needed. I appreciate that very much, Chris was my phlebotomist, Jackie helped locate the item. The place is the size of matchbox car, you are literally on top of one another with little space beyond the chairs and a little wall space to lean on. The place is well-kept and tidy, yet old and tired. Labcorp is a corporation providing a service. They don't really give a hoot about you but they do care about the money. The staff is doing their job as well as possible. I found them to be a team that works relatively well with one another as I observed for approximately 45 minutes because I was a walk-in. :) In the future I will absolutely make an appointment. The entire staff is turning over patients/clients at a very good rate of time, there was very little down time at all for them. Kudos on this. :) Spanish speakers are on staff. read more

This Lab Corp screwed me over by entering the wrong code to their claim to my insurance company. When the payment was rejected by the insurance, they charged me for it without informing me. This led me to spend HOURS on the phone with my insurance and lab corp, and it is still not resolved. DO NOT go to this one for your test!!! read more

I must have hit the jackpot because my experience was incredible. I walked up at 7:45 and stood in a line, 7th place, checked in on the kiosk, sat down, got called within 30 mins, paid, pee'd, blood drawn, and out within an hour. It seemed to me everyone was a walk in, maybe that's why there's no appts for weeks? Not sure. The staff was wonderful, they got my vein in the first shot (which is rare for my dehydrated @$$). It's a small and chaotic office but they have a system down. I think the determining factor is what time you show up. Godspeed people. read more

This review describes a challenging experience at a Labcorp facility on Reservoir Drive in San Diego near La Mesa: Positive points: - Timely initial service (seen before scheduled appointment) - Easy appointment booking for common tests - Staff was kind Negative points: 1. Accessibility issues: - Wheelchair access problems in the waiting area. - Cramped space, no place to park wheelchair without either blocking front desk, seats, check-in kiosk, or having the door opened onto the wheelchair. 2. Staff competence concerns: - Unfamiliarity with tests and panel requirements - Difficulty drawing blood (5 attempts by 3 staff members) - Disorganization in handling multiple vials for panels 3. Incomplete testing: - Only 3 full and 2 partial vials filled out of 16 required - No complete panels finished due to improper vial grouping - 1 hour 40 minutes spent in facility without completing any tests 4. Post-visit issues: - 2-week wait for partial results - Concern about billing for incomplete panels which will likely make it very difficult to redraw if the insurance was already billed for a test, but the test wasn't completed 5. Physical discomfort: - Bruising from multiple needle pokes - Fatigue requiring a long nap afterward. This facility is not suitable for wheelchair users, those with fragile health, or requiring obscure panels. I respectfully suggest the lab should improve its internal processes, especially for complex blood draws requiring multiple vials and/or mutiple panels. read more

This is the closest Labcorp to my house in East County. I was able to check in quickly & was called back shortly after. The girl did a good job finding a vein. She was warm & friendly as well. The office is clean & located on the first floor. Will definitely be back. read more

I actually had a good experience here. Unfortunately, it seems like their appointments are booked several weeks out. I made an appointment. The location is on the first floor of the building to the left of the entrance. It looks like a broom closet and the waiting room is about the size of one. The best part is they allow you to check in online and wait in your car. You receive a text when they're ready. I checked in around 10 for my 1030 appointment. At 1019 they texted they were ready. I walked in, and was immediately directed through the waiting room and directly into a seat. I was done by 1030. The process was efficient and the staff were friendly. read more

Had a terrible experience trying to take a glucose tolerance test. I came 30 min early and checked in online. I decided to ask about insurance. The young guy at the front desk answered with such attitude, like a disgruntled teenager. Ok, I just let it go. Then I asked if the water would be provided. He said yes, but I have to have an exactly 10oz container. NOWHERE in the appt email or texts does it say I have to bring a 10oz container. I had the glucose packet, that's all I thought I needed. He said "I need to be prepared" again with such attitude he basically rolled his eyes at me. How am I supposed to be prepared if no one answers the phones when I call and full instructions are not provided!?!? I asked him what would be acceptable. A 10oz water bottle? He literally shrugged his shoulders like helping me was the last thing he wanted to do. So I drive around the area trying to find a 10oz water bottle at diff stores and found nothing. I missed my appt despite being early and my husband had asked for a couple hours off work to watch the kids!!! I will try another location and bring a measuring cup I guess? I still have no idea what's acceptable. Cuz they did not help me in the slightest!!! read more

The front desk staff is terrible. Their rude, short with you, and seem like you're bothering them to do their job. I was ONE minute late and they told me to wait outside and I stated I had an appt so how long would it take (came on my lunch break) and she said well you're late so you're at the bottom of the list now. I was actually on time but a minute late due to the self check in, lady in front of me took 5 minutes to complete. So again was extremely rude and put the issue back into me instead assuring me they get to me as soon as possible. Please take the time to train your staff to do their job with a smile because I for sure will never come back to this location as long as I get treated the way I do. Very rude and completely condescending.and awful, because I kept on knocking on the door even after speaking to the securities and the front desk to my doctor said just to walk in . this is the 3rd time that lab corp has done this to me, the first one was bad, the second one in hillcrest location was horrible on July 17, 2020, I checked in and they told me I had to wait outside, they will call me or text me, when they are ready to see me. let me remind you I couldn't make an appointment at all, so its all walked in, which does not make sense to me since they all about COVID lol. I've waited about 2 hours and still never heard back from them, text or call. 3rd time going again. location 555 reservoir in SDSU medical hospital. I did not realize they were on " lunch" from 12-1 pm. I would think they would be doing a rotation for lunch purposes but besides the point. the way how she treated me as a patient and also as someone that has work in the healthcare field. I would never treat any person or human being like that woman did because I disturbed her on her lunch and she made sure to let me know that she is on lunch and that I should learn how to read on the door sign and completely humiliate me I went to my primary doctor who is in the same building and express to her I no longer want any service done from lab corp and that I wish to change medical facility, Went back downstairs again just to get my blood drawn since her lunch is over, let me remind you, I keep time stamp and all conversation recorded. it was about 1:08 pm. and their lunch hour is from 12 - 1 pm. and I went there at 12:54. pm when miss PAM S got rude and nasty, My point being and the practicality of all this does not make sense. I went back at 1:08 pm. she was already checking the patient out. They were all ignoring me once I got there, which I was confused since they were barely coming back . besides the point LAB CORP is by far the worst place to get any lab work done as a separate entity, unprofessional employees. operational value is a low budget, I asked for I could speak a manager on duty which by law they should have an operation or office manager running that office PAM and the whole front desk staff are unprofessional, RACIST, and discriminative regarding the way how as a gay professional human being, Had me wait for hours and never bother to call me back I will never in my life go to lab corp again!!. I couldn't even get through the company. to the ladies in front that lied and false accusation to the security guard, the witness of a male patient that was there can voucher for me anyways I highly recommend for everyone to go to Scripps, and get your blood work done there, who will valuate you as the patient, and as a human being a prioritize you.. I have been here many times with my pregnancies and only had a bad experience once. There is a kiosk you use in the corner to check it and they need your license and health insurance card to get you processed. It takes a few minutes when you are used to technology but whenever I see older people come in and have to check in on it they almost always have a hard time figuring it out or doing it quickly which causes a line. I have come mostly for routine blood work and urine samples to be provided and have always been seen nearly immediately. They are great at getting you in and out and I hardly ever wait for more than 5 minutes and never have any issues with anyone getting my blood but I do have really good veins. I have also come for the 1 hr glucose test and 3 hr glucose test. I made an appointment for both of those. Making an appointment online is super easy but I have noticed it doesn't ever matter if you have an appointment because they are normally so quick to get you in. My 1 hr was great (as much as they can be anyway) but my 3 hr didn't even happen (here) and I was so mad. I made an appointment for first thing in the morning knowing I had to fast and I would be hungry. I got there and they told me they couldn't do it because they would need to shut down for lunch and couldn't get all of my blood draws. I totally understand this but I don't know why they would let me make the appointment if they couldn't fulfill it in the first place. We had to go to a different location and I was so frustrated by this. Overall, I've had pretty good experiences and I know I will be back here again for the future if I need any lab work done. read more

Came here on Dec 27, 2019. Most of the labs were closed for the holidays, except for this place so I was sent here. When my wife and I came it was pretty crowded. They have a new check-in system. There is a little kiosk/tablet in the corner of the room. Make sure you go straight to this kiosk to check in. Don't get in line to see the person at the window because you will just get sent to the kiosk once you talk to the window person. By then, you would have wasted so much of your time (if it was crowded). You will need your driver license for the check in. You will scan it at the kiosk and fill out some information. After you are checked in, then you just sit at the chairs and wait for them to call you. If you have a "stat" order on your lab sheet, make sure you tell the window person this. "stat" means immediately, so you will get VIP service and skip the line. This is really important to know because I didn't realize this until I rechecked my lab order. You should see the word "stat" somewhere on your lab form. They also have a sign, but it's small, on the wall at the window that also tells you this. Luckily I'm a nurse, so when I rechecked my lab order I saw the word "stat" and immediately know what it means. I told the window person about it and was able to skip about 2-3 people ahead of me. The place that sent us to get some blood work done didn't even verbally tell us this was a "stat" order either. SO MAKE SURE YOU CHECK your LAB FORM. read more

My doctor sent in all my labs separately and they (Pam) wasn't frustrated and aggregated them all together so I didn't have to pay as many co-pays. Pam was INCREDIBLE took my blood so QUICKLY and didn't hurt me at all, answered all my questions. Was an all around amazing experience, better than the doctor's office. They were so patient and the process for check in and being seen was so quickly. They also answer their phones which is pretty unheard of in healthcare these days because of the influx in general even before corona virus. read more

First time at this LabCorps, and the thing that irks me the most about it is the bullet-proof shield you have to try to talk through. As if it weren't enough i was wearing a mask and so was the person on the other side (which was not necessary). Voices were raised, perhaps because I am a senior with hearing problem. Yet the staff member could have stepped out into the lobby and spoken to me instead of become visibly aggressive when I asked her to repeat. Unprofessional behavior. My question is, where is management in a situation like this? These staff are most likely overworked and underpaid. Yet did I detect unnecessary chit-chat coming from staff members in the back room while patients swarmed into the tiny lobby? And oh, BTW, nobody answers the phone at any Labcorps in San Diego except one. Show up at 7:30 as a walk in and I am number 9 in line. Doors open at 8 and we are told computers are down. So if you didn't bring hard copy papers, guess what. They only have one person drawing blood. The lucky people who made an appointment were in and out quickly. Those of us walk in's still waiting. They are on walk-in number 4 after 50 minutes. Considering the nature of what they do, I find the customer service to be excellent. If you speak to the personnel as if they are human beings, they respond in an extremely kind manner, and do everything to assist. I write this way because I have seen some complaints that omit that patients often initiate negativity by addressing the HC staff inappropriately. read more

This place has the worst customer service. The receptionist Rose (dark black hair, heavy set lady) is rude and unprofessional. People were waiting outside for more than 30 minutes and she was inside playing on her phone, unaware of the long line outside. Labcorp - Naughty naughty driving with phone in hand! - Laboratory Testing Near Me - San Diego, California

Went here to do my glucose test I was there before 9am, this is a test that requires 3 hours stays in for them to take your blood every hour for total of 3 hours. I went on the website to check the hours and to plan my day, there is no where that says they are close for lunch from 12-1pm. I check in around 9:00 and they told me to wait outside and they will send me a text message when my turn is on, after 20 min waiting they saw my paper work and told me that this test interferes with their lunch therefore they can't do it for me. I need it to return another day and be the before they open at 8:00am so they can do the test and I don't intervene with their lunch hour. I told the lady that I'm obviously pregnant and my doctor requested this test to be done today because I'm due in a week and half and my doctor need this before my due date, I also mention that I looked prior to go on the website and it doesn't said anything about they are close from 12-1 pm for their lunch hour. This is unacceptable!!!! You have a few employees there that can take lunch diferente times so that you don't close your doors to the public. You can also put on the website that you are close from 12-1 for lunch so people can plan better. This is ridiculous that you send me home, I took the day off, Plan my day knowing I need to be there for 3 hours, I was there before 9:00 am to do a the test required by my doctor before my delivery date I'm almost 9 months pregnant and you guys send me away because the test interfere with your lunch. read more

This is regularly a busy location. But they keep the customer flow moving well w/efficient, knowledgeable & friendly technicians.

Last year my company did our annual health screenings at Walgreens. This year they switched to LabCorp. I will be BEGGING them to let us go back to Walgreens next year! Heavy construction everywhere, so impossible to get in and out of. Okay, maybe that's temporary. But once you get there, good luck getting a parking place - it took me 10 minutes. My blood pressure is hard to hear. But I've never had an automated machine squeeze so hard that I literally yelled STOP and ripped it off my arm! Who calibrated this? And why can't they offer the option of doing a MANUAL blood pressure instead, like everyone else?!? The only labs I needed done for this were glucose and cholesterol. Everyone else does a finger stick for this. LabCorp? "We don't do finger sticks." The tech was nice but just seemed really helpless. My company said I could request LabCorp to send me a copy of my bloodwork results. "Oh, you'll have to get that from your employer."
