Last year my company did our annual health screenings at Walgreens. This year they switched to LabCorp. I will be BEGGING them to let us go back to Walgreens next year! Heavy construction everywhere, so impossible to get in and out of. Okay, maybe that's temporary. But once you get there, good luck getting a parking place - it took me 10 minutes. My blood pressure is hard to hear. But I've never had an automated machine squeeze so hard that I literally yelled STOP and ripped it off my arm! Who calibrated this? And why can't they offer the option of doing a MANUAL blood pressure instead, like everyone else?!? The only labs I needed done for this were glucose and cholesterol. Everyone else does a finger stick for this. LabCorp? "We don't do finger sticks." The tech was nice but just seemed really helpless. My company said I could request LabCorp to send me a copy of my bloodwork results. "Oh, you'll have to get that from your employer." The online appointment and check-in process is very efficient and they were right on time. The phlebotomist had to poke me in both arms because she missed hitting the vein the first time around, which was a first. That's what I call hit and miss. At least I didn't get a hematoma. read more

I don't think I typically enjoy having my blood drawn but customer service is truly outstanding in this location. They greet you warmly and check you in immediately! The actual procedure and blood draw is seamless. Every time I've been at this location I've been done within ten minutes! Be sure to make an appointment ahead of time! read more

I've been coming to this location for a little over a year, this will always be my favorite location. They are very efficient and professionals, i always get help by the younger lady Daliha? Only reason I gave them a 2 star is because we came without an appt but even still, I've given blood a million times and never taken longer than 5 mins. And I've never needed an appt in the past either. We showed up at 830 am on a Monday. there were 4 other people in the waiting room, all without appts and they kept coming out and calling names of people that weren't even there. We went about 30+ mins without one single person actually waiting in the waiting room being called. my patience was running thin but sat quietly. It wasn't until I heard other people complaining when I realized how long the wait was. Finally got to the point where there were 14 people waiting. So crammed people were standing in the hall. too long of a wait in my opinion. A tv in the waiting room would probably go a long way hint hint. read more

Came here for a lab panel. Ihad set an appointment online. When i got to the area, parking is free for 30 min, but 4$ each hour after that- but we all know you can't get anything done in 30 min at the doctors. Suite 101 is confusing to find. I was wondering around for a while before I asked suite 103 where the labcorp place was- well, it was in the adjacent building! When i got there (right on time for my appointment), I had to wait for about 15-20 min. I was a little annoyed because I had an appointment and i had been fasting for 14 hrs. The person who took my blood was really nice and got the vein the first time, so I was greatful that the experience was rather painless and quick. I came with very low expectations. This was my first time in an outpatient lab, so I don't really have much to compare it with. read more

While the team at this location was nice enough, the facilities are dirty, they are understaffed, and they are VERY unorganized. Not on top of things at all. It took me an hour to be seen when I made an appointment weeks in advance. They also don't sanitize the draw tables or chairs between uses. I will not ever be coming here again. read more

I absolutely love this lab! Every single time I've been here it's a good experience. The Phlebotomists are very polite, friendly, great at painlessly taking blood and they make it such a great experience! I've even left with hugs!! I exclusively go here to get my blood drawn. read more

I am incredibly squeamish, but the phlebotomists really put me at ease with their kindness and humor. Iden is the best!!! Be prepared for a very long wait if you come in the morning, but usually they can get you in pretty fast in the afternoon. read more

Even though I live closer to the Hillcrest labs I opted to drive to this one because of the better Yelp Reviews. I'm glad I did. I came in at 11 AM on a Tuesday morning to get my blood drawn and was out in 10 minutes. Piece of cake. Parking can be a minor hassle but I found a spot, no biggie. read more

The only reason why labcorp in la Mesa deserves 5 stars is because of Jamila!!! I came here for a 3hr glucose test during Covid & made what is a not soo exciting experience a breeze! I hate getting blood drawn more than ANYTHING. I have such bad anxiety over it that I feel sick beforehand. But if you have to have it done, this is the place to go. The staff was so friendly and sweet and calming. The person who helped me was Idan (spelling?) He made it a calming and painless experience. I did have an appointment and was seen within 15 minutes of my arrival time. I would recommend this location for people with needle phobia and anxieties related to having labwork done. read more

Been there five or six time in the last few years. They are quite capable. Sign-in is by kiosk-reader, so be prepared to show your DL, plus your first and secondary insurance cards. Well-run, but a pleasant and modest staff generally makes waits of more than a few minutes inevitable. Reviews showing waits of only five minutes, or of more than an hour, are in my experience, outliers, not typical. But you can expect to wait 20-25 minutes. A small waiting area, so it often looks crowded, but they move through the line briskly. Once you get in, they complete quickly and competently. I am told by staff that appointments are available, but they are so popular that they are often booked for weeks in advance, so if you are in a hurry to get it done, bear the wait. So I'm pretty sure no one really likes to go have to get their blood drawn for tests. But the Labcorp in Avocado medical offices off the 8 is usually where I end up going. Out of all the Labcorp's in San Diego I've been to, this is literally the best one. The lines are always short, the people that work there are very friendly and the queue moves quite fast. Some people always say make an appointment, but I've never had to make one here, they move quickly. I've always found that the lab techs who work here also do a great job at sticking you with the needle. We've all got that one person who had no clue what they were doing and bruised you pretty good. But I've come here for all my regular blood screens and have had nothing but great service. Another thing that strikes me weird about other offices is they try to charge me a $50 credit card holding fee, for some non sense, but I've never had that issue here. read more

OK, I lucked out by being the only one in the waiting room, but Laura the blood draw lady and receptionist was extraordinary! I have small, hidden veins. It usually takes 5 or 6 tries to take blood. The previous time the gal had to go in the back and compose herself before trying again. Laura got 4 vials out of me first time and no bruising. I don't remember that ever happening! I went to this Labcorp because of the two(!) positive reviews. Because I did not want to drive all the way to La Jolla and because all the others have one and two-star reviews. I arrived at 7:40 a.m.; they open at 8. I was the third person in line. Rosemary was the only person working the first half hour. She was AMAZING! Very friendly, incredibly fast, got my veins on the first try, and that is not usually how it goes. The two before me and I were all in and out of there in 5 minutes. By 8:05 there were about eight people in the waiting room, so it's worth going early. Rosemary rotates and is not always there, but maybe you will be in luck! read more

I went in today with my toddler at about 11 a.m. and the male technician had no idea what he was doing. He seemed so confused. I should have immediately stopped him when he couldn't find a vein and said "let's try anyway." He had the needle in the skin, moving it around while my toddler screamed. I will never return to this place. VERY incompetent person and the other tech assisting him was not any better. Do not take children here...ever. My son was in tears all for NOTHING. The lab tech should not be allowed to draw blood from any one. read more

I had the most frustrating positive experience ever in this office today. Kudos to the staff that was working there between 2-4pm today. I limped into the office (with two sprained knees) around 2:30 today, only to find out that my blood work request had never been sent out by my doctor. Three or four calls and an hour and a half later, the office still had nothing. The front desk checked several times for me to see if the fax or electronic order was received, and it wasn't, because it kept failing on the doctor's side. It would have been nice if they would have said that the first couple of times I called, but they (they being my doctor's office) didn't. The frustration was clear in my tone and on my face, but the lab never got snippy and was NEVER anything less than patient, pleasant, and professional with me. They took great care of me despite the incompetence of my doctor's office they ultimately ended up dealing with and straightening out for me. I'd give them six stars if I could. read more

The staff at LabCorp are very friendly and efficient when it comes to your appointment. Unfortunately, the billing is always a problem. I don't know who takes care of the billing, if it is done in the office or at another location. I let the lady that helped me know that I was giving her a new insurance card and it is now my new and only insurance to bill. She made a copy of it and said it's on file now. Today, I opened my mail and my old insurance was billed AGAIN. Billing problems happen EVERY time I have my lab work done. It would be nice to hear input from others who have had this happen to them. read more
