The only saving grace of this restaurant was the view. Everything else was a huge disappointment. Our waitress, Olivia, seemed genuinely annoyed that we were there to order food. Three members of our party ordered shrimp tacos, only to be told they were out of shrimp and the tacos would be made with steak instead. Those three meals arrived nearly 30 minutes after the rest of our table had already been served, leaving part of our group eating while the others just waited. To make matters worse, while we were joking among ourselves about whether they were "still killing the cow back there," a male server walked by and responded, "Don't say sh*t." Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. At the end of the meal, we discovered a 20% gratuity had already been added because of our party size. While that's understandable if it's clearly disclosed, we couldn't find anything about it on the website. Even more concerning, our waitress did not provide an itemized receipt until we specifically asked for one and took an unusually long time to bring it over. Without an itemized bill, it would have been very easy to accidentally leave an additional 20% tip on top of the automatic gratuity. Between the poor service, long wait, inappropriate staff interaction, and lack of transparency with the bill, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. Shaken not stirred! Here for the weekend and they didn't disappoint this first timer. I did go as aoon as they open because this is a popular place that has mixed reviews, but the menu was inviting. I wasn't expecting much, just some bar food and a few drinks. The lobster sandwich and wings were perfect. Service was great, they checked on us often since we were in the rooftop and others were inside. Yesterday I went to Patrick's rooftop for the first time for my friend's birthday. We got there around 4:30 after work. It was a little tough to find because there weren't many signs outside the hotel where it is located. Anyhow, we made our way to the top floor for the rooftop bar. The tables are first come first serve, so we tried to get there shortly after they opened, and it was already getting a little bit crowded. There were indoor and outdoor areas throughout to choose from. We snagged a spot near the overlook of a nice view of downtown. A server came over to take our order which is a nice touch. We started with a round of drinks which we got but didn't get our water until quite a bit a later even though we wanted to start with water. The drinks were pretty tasty but a little bit expensive at around $12 a cocktail. My favorite was the frose! With COVID restrictions we were required to order food. We ordered hummus, carnitas and shrimp cocktail. Honestly the appetizers were awful. The shrimp cocktail was brunt and were only four pieces of little shrimp. I didn't try the carnitas but I waited about a half an hour after my friends got their appetizers to get my hummus. The vegetables served with the hummus were beyond strange and it also came with some burnt baguettes. The appetizers were also served on plastic plates. Which ruined the upscale touch. Service was overall very slow. The other thing I did not like was that the inside was getting very very crowded and the bar did not appear to have any concerns for COVID which was a turn off. Luckily we were outside so we still felt somewhat safe. Overall the cocktails are a bit expensive, and you pay for the wonderful views. I would steer clear of any food and out of the inside as they do not adhere to any social distancing with COVID. I would come back solely for the views and a drink. read more

Tried Patrick's for Sunday brunch. The pics and reviews were overall good but unfortunately aside from the view, my experience was not enjoyable. I got there around 1p and the first drink I ordered was a pineapple jalapeño drink. It was not good at all. It tasted watered down, and I couldn't taste the pineapple or jalapeño. Next we tried to order the bottomless mimosas. It was around 130 and we were told it was too late and wouldn't be worth the cost at that time. The bartender offered to make us a margarita which was really tasty. We were excited for mimosas so we decided to get a glass anyway. I ordered pineapple and my friend ordered peach. The bartender said ok but brought out a pineapple pitcher. We tried to explain that we each just wanted a glass but he seemed overwhelmed so we just took the pitcher. The brut they used was really strong so we had him add more pineapple and cranberry before we were able to actually enjoy the mimosas. As for the food, we were excited to try the waffle flight but they didn't have it so I ended up getting the omelette of the day and my friend got a crepe. Her crepe was cold but palatable. My omelette had feta, spinach and mushrooms and was just ok. I think it could've used a little salt. The potatoes were great! By far the best thing I had there. The ambiance is great and definitely worth going to just for the vibes and views. The outdoor rooftop has a fire pit and cute booths and seating. This spot is really hit or miss depending on the day you venture out here. The last time we came here was on a busy Friday. The waitress was non existent and we had to go up to the bar and ask for food and drink menus. Once we figured out what we wanted to order, we ended up just ordering drinks at the bar because our waitress was once again, no where to be seen. This last time we went on a Wednesday night for my birthday. As soon as we stepped off the elevator, we were immediately greeted by the hostess. We weren't able to see if it was busy or not but I asked the hostess if we could sit by the ledge if there was room. There was plenty of room and took us to a great spot. She also advised us that there was only one waitress and if it was okay if we just ordered drinks at the bar if we weren't ordering food. I loved this heads up! Of course, we ordered our drinks at the bar since we had just came from dinner. The view was amazing and the sunset was beautiful! Bartenders were busy but that was expected. The drinks were your typical upscale prices so not much I can say about that. We headed up here for some drinks after stopping at WXYZ bar downstairs first for a drink. We are glad we made our way up here because it was a really cool bar. It was packed on a Saturday night as expected. There is a lot of bar seating as well as plenty of seating outside (although in a Buffalo winter, there weren't too many people outside). We did spend a decent amount of time outside though admiring the view of the city and huddling near the warm heat lamps. There was also a fireplace you could sit around. Very cool atmosphere here. What a fun spot downtown! I'd never been to a rooftop bar until coming to Patrick's and I was pretty impressed! We were out as a group celebrating a friend's birthday, got there early-ish in the night (around 9:30 or so), so we didn't have to wait to get in. My biggest piece of advice is to go earlier, otherwise you'll wait in a long line and risk being turned down! The view was incredible. I will say that it's basically what you're paying for. Drinks are on the pricey side for sure, obviously because you're mostly paying to feel fancy on the roof of a hotel in Buffalo! That feeling has no price so I didn't mind paying a little more for a drink. Sad I only heard about this place later in the summer, since colder times are upon us. Went here for the first time last night and can say the drinks were good and the music choices was hitting!! The only downside I had was the service. My boyfriend had a tab open and our server was Stephen(name on receipt). We stayed for 2 drinks because of the service we received. He was standing at the bar waiting to get the second round of drinks, but Stephen was taking care of those who came after him. When he was told from other customers that my boyfriend has been waiting, his response was well they(those he took care of) were here first, which was a lie. After 10 minutes, I go to the bar and sit next to him and he finally was able to order drinks then Stephen asked what I would like to drink, I guess he didn't think I was with him? We closed out the tab, I tipped of course, but am sad that this happened. Everyone is very friendly, and they have a decent amount of drink choices. I had one of their cocktails and it was absolutely delicious. Yes the price is a little steep, but thats expected for a roof top bar - so nothing too crazy. I do wish they had some more beer choices, but overall this place is very relaxing and an enjoyable place to go. I was extremely disappointed with my visit here. The location is amazing, the views are incredible, and the potential is there. Shortly after being seated, our waitress brought us some menus and said she'd return shortly. About 20 or so minutes passed and she did finally took our drink orders. We returned with our drinks but then walked away. Never asked if we were getting food. That was the last we saw of her. I eventually asked the bar tender if we would order food. We receive a sad txt saying they were having "Slight Remodels" to the kitchen that day so they had to cancel our reservations so I'm thinking. Did a pipe burst and you had to evacuate the premises, did a fire break out and so they had to hose the place down???? What "Slight Reservations" could have taken place that wasn't Scheduled??? Like, isn't there a Contract and Contractors that comes into play when you are renovating?? Did not the GM or Employees notice contractor's stomping around in dusty work boots previously? I'm so confused I need answers/clarity so i understand like, Didn't someone have to sign off on the work being done? Didn't someone have to put Orange cones down or yellow caution tape around the area to notify the public of construction being done? So many questions and furthermore, this situation caused for a actual phone call because when you are juggling kids and making other arrangements and celebrating, most of the time you don't hear the ding of your text notification...at least I don't...Anyway, because of this last minute switcheroo, we just lost the joy and the thrill of the night and ended up getting some seafood at Aloha Crab which was exceptionally delicious and the service was beyond amazing as they wished us a happy anniversary eventhough they were NOT our 1st choice but...that's not the point!!
