I'm happy to leave positive reviews when warranted, but unfortunately this experience fell short. That was even before any work was performed. I contacted LaCassa to get estimates for two projects. During my initial call, I was informed there would be an $87 fee for a technician to come out and provide an estimate. That was not an issue because I was also informed the $87 would be credited back if I signed a contract to perform the work. During the visit, I was then told it would cost an additional $395 just to assess the issue in order to provide the estimate I originally requested, and that was for the first project. This charge was described as a "diagnostic charge.' From my perspective, I had already paid for an estimate as I requested in my initial phone call, when in reality I apparently paid for someone to tell me I'd have to pay more to get that estimate. That within itself was misleading. For the second project, I was given a price with a condition attached, essentially, the price only applied "if" nothing went wrong. I was then asked if I wanted to move forward with the work, without being told what the cost would be if that condition wasn't met. I understand this is an older home and things could happen, but you can't give me a conditional estimate without providing the cost for both sides of that condition. I did eventually get that information after raising concerns, but it should have been clearly communicated upfront, providing me with the big picture. Overall, the lack of transparency and clarity during the initial interaction led me to make the decision to not move forward with this company. Communication is key. EDIT TO CARMEN: I do understand the need for an in person evaluation. However, your response is relative to the dishwasher part of the request only. With that said, I've never had a company come out to provide an estimate without performing the steps required to complete that estimate. In this case, I was simply told that you'll have to pay $87 for a visit (all good), but then you have to pay an additional $395 to get that estimate (not good) when I could have been told that over the phone just as you typed in your reply. Leading the customer down the path of thinking they're going to get an estimate instead of stating up front there could be additional steps/costs required to get that estimate is misleading. That's an example of my transparency concern. In regard to the outdoor spigot part of the request. You didn't address giving a conditional estimate without providing the cost for both sides. I had to ask for that when it should have been provided prior to me being asked if I wanted to sign for the work. Of course I'm not going to sign without knowing both sides of the coin. That's an example of my communication concern. We all have different expectations and I simply want others to know what happened to me. It creates an awareness of what they may be up against if the tech comes across something that as you state, isn't 'normal'. It may also help someone know what questions to ask to help prevent it. I felt the need to clarify that my concerns were not related to the $87. They were related to the communication and transparency since your response only reframes what your process is. I called for a second opinion, and they really wanted to force me into choosing from 3 "Good Better Best" estimates, none of which would have been my preferred. And also highly encouraged their joining the membership subscription. Allowing them to bid required us to pay for the "service" visit (with no work done) which tells me they often don't win the business for customers who get an additional opinion. Absolutely ridiculous service. I screwed up. I called Lacassa to fix a garbage disposal, forgetting that I called them before to fix a water heater a couple of years ago. Last time they showed up for the water heater, he didn't even look at it. Kept upselling me on a new one for 1500$. Told me it's 6 years old, and that I need to replace it. Refused to even see if it could be fixed. Was forced to pay my 80$ service charge. Called a different company, who came and fixed it for under $100. As soon as the LaCassa van showed up at my driveway, I realized my screw-up. Different plumber, same BS. Said it's the company policy to give me three options, before even looking at it. I had a piece of plastic jammed in there. I was hesitant to try to dislodge it since I sliced my finger on a madolin a month ago. gave me 3 options, mind you, again, without even looking at the disposal. 650, 450, and 330$$$$? again had to pay the 80+ service charge with my tail between my legs. My shower was backing up on a Friday evening, I called multiple plumbers with no luck, lacassa plumber shifted there scheduled to accommodate my plumbing issue on a weekend with out a huge weekend fees. The owner was on sight an diagnosed the issue an had it resolved immediately. It's nice to see pride in workmanship and a responsible owner who's a master of his craft. Melissa answered the phone right away and when I described the problem and that my folks only had 1 restroom, she and the plumbers put us in priority. They settled the issue quickly, but also cited some bigger issues we might want to address in the future. A few weeks later, yes, we needed to call again, as they were correct and yet again the plumbers came right out, assessed the issue and made plans to replace the toilet. I had a leak on my one and only toilet days before Easter, of course I was hosting dinner at my house. Carmen showed up that evening and fixed it right away. He was knowledgable and great to work with. Now about a month later it leaked once again, not their fault, because my floors are terribly uneven in my condo which is likely causing the issue. I was so frustrated trying to call different plumbing companies that wouldn't return my calls and the one I did talk to, was so rude and bothered by me calling, I literally hung up and told the man I hope his day gets better. LaCassa plumbing returned my call in ten minutes and the girl was so accommodating with my busy schedule. Needless to say, they came out that very next morning to install a new water heater! Our water heater stopped working on a Saturday morning. After making a few calls, we were lucky enough to connect with Carmen and Melissa LaCassa from LaCassa Plumbing. Within three hours of our initial call, our new water heater was fully installed and working perfectly! We tried LaCassa Plumbing after Carmen LaCassa replaced a water heater in our pastor's home. We have had a leaky hose bibb on the front of our house for a couple of years and finally decided to do something about it when we heard about LaCassa. Complicating the job was the fact that an electric conduit, water pipe and heating duct were all within a foot or so of each other in the crawlspace, leaving very little room to work, and the old bibb had been "mortared into" a front wall of uneven stonework. Carmen did a careful job of removing the old bibb with a minimum of disturbance to the stonework, and setting in and sealing the new bibb. I was under the impression that he was going to just bid-out our job, but was happily surprised when he was actually ready to do the repair on-the-spot. As a bonus, he is a very neat worker, using boot covers whenever he came into the house. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment for bathroom shut off valves replacement on Thursday for today 11/29 at 10:30 am and this guy Matt show us up an hour late and after inspecting the valves for 10sec he gives me already written estimate for $330 and then tells me that he can do it for $300 and when I asked him if he can inspect the drain pipe in that price he told me that that will cost me additional $250 and that he can do everything for $500, complete rip off..They don't tell you the price of the service until they show up at your home and if they see you desperate they'll take your money like nothing. I don't know how they can have a 5 star rating when they are complete rip off and they hide the pricing about their services and then come to your house with already written estimate which makes you think, how did he know how much will cost me before even checking it out. I already got another plumber who did everything for $150, the valves, the drain hose and checked one more thing for me. I will never ever use or recommend LaCassa Plumbing, such a waste of time. read more

I was having a large bathroom remodel/addition done and the contractor in charge recommended a couple plumbers. I looked up his recommendations and found one I thought I would like until he came out. I never met such a rude business owner. Then I was talking to a friend who used LaCassa Plumbing and told me how professional the owner was and answered all questions, cleaned up well and explained everything in detail. I called LaCassa Plumbing up and Carmen (the owner) came by at 7:00pm the following evening upon my request. When Carmen arrived, he listened to everything I had to say and he gave a couple of his own recommendations. The wife loves the rain shower head and body sprays (his recommendations). Happy wife, happy life . Couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!! Carmen and associates are highly respectful, friendly, knowledgeable and, most importantly, are approachable in all your questions. Carmen offers value in the jobs that he tackles; you might be able to get a cheaper job done, but it'll show.
