Thai food easily makes it on my list of top favorite Asian cuisines. So of course I had to try Ladda Thai and it is delicious! Got my favorite dish, Chicken Pad See Ew (Soy Sauce Rice Noodles) *of course*, Chicken Kaeng Khiao Waan (Green Curry) with a side of Jasmine Rice and Steak Pad Kra Pow (Thai Basil Stir-Fry) with a side of Jasmine Rice. I wanted Pad Thai (Stir-Fried Rice Noodles) but they were out of it that day! I've never had homemade Thai food before but I'd imagine this is exactly what it would taste like, just delicious. This is a lot of food for two people, there was plenty of food to take home! My favorite was the Pad See Ew but I enjoyed the other dishes as well. The Pad See Ew comes with these Thai Chili Flakes that are low-key such a game changer, YOU NEED TO PUT THIS ALL OVER YOUR FOOD, they are not overly spicy but adds so much flavor to your meal. To give you an idea, I LOVE Banana Bay and I think the Pad See Ew tastes better here, the flavor is better. I am a big curry person and enjoyed the curry here, the flavor was just right. The Pad Kra Pow I got was an off-menu item with Steak, delicious, but it is normally made with Ground Meat. You can tell the ingredients they use are fresh. The food is not mind blowing but it is good comfort food. For this reason, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if I'm in the area, I'd definitely stop by. I think this is a great takeout option. They are located in a small shopping plaza inside Chups Social Kitchens. Let me try to explain was this place is, because, at first, I was confused myself. It's similar to a ghost kitchen concept, however, there is seating so you can stay and eat. They serve most of their customers by delivery and pick-up. However, you can come, order here and eat here as well. It's almost like a ghost kitchen virtual food court. You can order through the iPad at the front of the place which gets sent to the kitchen and then you pick up your food. You can also call to place your order for pick up or find them on delivery apps. There's many different food vendors to choose from. The menus from each food vendor are created by food content creators. Ladda Thai was created by Kat T! Remember this isn't a full service restaurant. You pay and pick up your order. Prices are standard, however, for it not being a full service restaurant, I'm not sure if it warrants standard restaurant pricing. There was no wait when I came on a Sunday at 5 PM and food came out pretty quickly. The interior is very casual but decent. They have a free parking lot and while small, I had no issues with parking. read more

If you're craving for some authentic home-cooked Thai food, I'd recommend giving Ladda Thai a try! Be sure to google Chups Virtual Food Court as they are one of the vendors under that social kitchen. You can order online on the Chups website or you can go in person and place your order at the tablet. I ordered online and it was pretty easy. They text you when they have received the order and when it is ready. It took about 25 minutes for my order to be ready but that was perfect for me as my food was already ready by the time I arrived. If you're unsure what to order for your first time, you really can't go wrong with the Pad See Ew or the Pineapple Fried Rice. Initially, I was afraid that if the beef cubes were overcooked, it would make it too dry, but surprisingly, it was very tender. However, I'm not sure if it would be the same case if you had leftovers and had to reheat it. Flavor wise, it delivered and satisfied my pad see ew cravings. The best part is that you can actually taste a bit of wok hei which gives the dish a smoky flavor. Now if the wok hei flavor can be a little stronger, this dish will be superior. I also liked how the noodles weren't oily like other places that I've had. Pineapple Fried Rice (Beef) $13.98 - Comes with your choice of protein ((chicken, beef, shrimp for an additional $2.00 or Tofu for additional $1.00) and you can also add a fried egg for an additional $2.00. I opted for the beef without the fried egg and kindly requested to remove the cashew nuts from the pineapple fried rice due to allergies. They have a section for special requests should you not want a certain ingredient to be in the dish. Although I'm missing the nutty flavor in the fried rice, I felt like the other ingredients in the fried rice made up for it. I appreciated it was more of a savory flavor even though it did have pineapples so it felt more balanced to me. The curry powder was subtle so I liked that as well. It also came with a condiment in the event you wanted to adjust the flavor to your liking. This also has a smoky flavor from wok hei and it really elevated the fried rice. I'd say it was stronger than the smoky flavor on the pad see ew so this was probably my favorite! Tom Yum $13.98 - Comes with your choice of protein (chicken, beef, shrimp for an additional $2.00 or tofu for an additional $1.00) It could use more acidity as there was a stronger tomato flavor, but they provided limes on the side which brought the acidity level to my liking. Was looking for thai food in the area and was glad I stumbled across this spot. Food: Ordered the chicken drunken noodles and was content with what I received. A good amount of heat, although I did douse it with the house vinegar-chili sauce for some extra spice. The sourness and spiciness along with the smoky flavor was a good balance. Noodles were the right texture and weren't too wet which most places end up doing. Location: Place comes off as different since it's a social kitchen that produces other types of cuisines. The storefront was hard to spot since Ladda isn't spelled out at the entrance making it tough to understand where I was going. Ordering: Was a bit skeptical on how the food would come out with Thai food being so different than the hot chicken/burgers offered under different restaurant names. Okay, there's a small community of Thai artists/merchants that I follow on IG. I found out about Ladda Thai because their IG profile interacts with those people, so when I saw their name on DoorDash, I immediately recognized them. I was craving Tom Kah Gai because it's friggin' cold today and I decided to try this place out. I hesitated because the DoorDash photo for it looked bland -completely white and watery looking, so I looked at their IG just in case. On their IG, it looks creamier and has a more orange color from the spice and coconut milk mixing, which I prefer, so I went for it. I requested it to be made Thai spicy. I also ordered the Pad Thai with spice condiments on the side and a Thai Coffee. The Tom Kah broth was flavorful, but it was not spicy aka white spicy, so that was a little disappointing, and although there was no ability to select a protein, I was hoping it would come with chicken because it's pretty standard and there is clearly chicken in the picture they used, but there wasn't any. So a soup with no protein and very few mushrooms for $16 was again -disappointing. The Pad Thai was also a good flavor. Not too sweet like some places, but it had chili flakes on top, so I had to separate the top before sharing with my toddler. There was also no spice condiments on the side, so I couldn't customize both orders to my liking (since my soup wasn't made spicy liked I requested). I still gave this place 4 stars because they put in some effort to make the customer happy. In addition to my order, they gave me a free rice side and Thai Tea, which is great! This shows that they want customers to come back. However, I think it would be more effective to pay attention to the details and make orders according to customer requests, especially when they have the feature to make those requests turned on in DoorDash -and always, always, always provide spice condiments if you're not gonna spice it up for us Thais out here. I'll give this spot another go in the future, but I'll probably do it in person or call in my order, so I can double check that my order comes out correctly and that I get my condiments lol. read more

Honestly, I get that OC/LA areas have a lot of food options to offer, but you probably cannot find a better way to get thai food with a home-cooked feel. The food isn't overly oily/salty, it's well-balanced, and you can feel the quality!!! Came here for lunch on Sunday after my friends and I went on a hike and was craving some Thai food. The location was unassuming and as someone who has eaten Thai food all over LA and SD, I didn't expect much. But MAN, this place was great!! I ordered the Pad Thai, the Pad Kee Mao, and the thai tea. The Pad Thai was my favorite! I like that they added a little bit more sauce than other places usually would. It was just enough so that the noodles wouldn't be "wet" but would carry a lot more flavor. Honestly, this dish was so good I wanted to order another one just to take home. The Pad Kee Mao was a close second. It had that "Wok Hei" flavor that so many places lack (IYKYK lol). They also weren't shy when it came to protein! Definitely needed after our hike. I think I could've used a little bit more thai chile peppers in mine but I like my food to be an 8/10 on the Thai spice scale. I'd forgotten about my last negative experience with this place and ordered through doordash. Ordered at 12pm, by 1pm the order was still being prepared?! The dasher said the wait was too long and left, and another dasher was reassigned and it was another hour until I got my food. They obviously rushed my order because look at the photos. Green curry: It was watery and salty. Pad Thai: Whole peanuts? (They're supposed to be crushed) and the meat had an old smell. My parents from Thailand said "this is not pad Thai" after one bite. I was at the laundromat next door and decided to try this place out while i was waiting. So glad i did! This place is a hidden gem. Looks they just opened cause I've never heard of this place or been to a "social kitchen" before but i like the concept and having various options to choose from. Food was bomb!! I tried the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and veggie egg rolls. Thai tea is a must. My bf got the thai iced coffee and it looked so good. Only thing is that the food can be a bit spicy so make sure you specify if you can't handle spice like me! Definitely my new spot to grab Thai food since I'm always in the area. Service was excellent! The cashier was very friendly and helpful with ordering at the self-serve kiosk. I believe I met the owner, and he was very personable and kind. He even let us sample a new dish and it was so damn good. Waiting for when they add more items to the menu ^_^ the owner also mentioned that they will be renovating the space so I'm excited to see the transformation! Ladda Thai! The food speaks for itself One of the best pineapple fried rices I've ever had. Who needs the pineapple presentation when there is so much depth of flavor and delicious layers of texture. The smokey char with the notes of pineapple/golden raisins and the crunch/richness of the cashew become an orchestra in perfect harmony! Also need to highlight the THAI TEA! It's not too sweet like most other ones on the market and is the perfect balance of tea, sweetness, and creaminess. Also ordered the pad see ew that paired nicely with the acidity of the pickled Serrano peppers. The green curry was mellow and creamy. My roommate and I traveled from San Diego to give this place a try, and it did not disappoint! Overall, the food was a solid 5/5 stars, and exactly what I expected from an authentic Thai restaurant. We ordered the green curry, drunken noodles, and Thai basil stir fry. All of it was tasty, super filling, and made fresh which made the drive absolutely worth it. The curry was a bit more watery than I am used to, and we had to request rice on the side which was brought out on a paper plate, but as far as flavors - everything HIT! The location was a bit hard to find since it's not explicitly listed as "Ladda Thai" outside, and the eating area was a bit smaller than expected. Everything was served in to-go containers and we were provided paper plates/plastic cutlery as well. The ordering system was self-serve on an iPad in the front with a couple people cooking in the back, and it did take a bit longer than expected for our food to arrive, which is why I give the review an overall 4/5 stars. But for my first time at a social kitchen like this it was a nice gem in the mini mall that it's located in. With all this said, I definitely think this place is worth a try! read more

WARNING to anyone dining in and expecting to be seated in a traditional restaurant: Ladda Thai is only a vendor at chupps social kitchen. The dine-in area is small and the shared with many of the other creators on the roster, almost like a food court, but with one POS (definitely more suitable for online orders and in-store pickup). Despite this, the waitress was incredibly attentive, keeping an eye out for refills and making sure I was having a good experience. Iced Thai Tea: gets the job done and isn't too overly sweet. Tom Kar Gai- soup with coconut milk added to base. I was initially hesitant to order this instead of my usual tom yum gai, since I'm not a fan of coconut milk, but I'm so happy I decided to try it out! The soup was flavorful, well-seasoned and balanced. The aromatics were distinguishable, but melded perfectly without one flavor being too overpowering. Pad Thai- I'm not the biggest fan of ordering pad Thai, usually the texture is inconsistent at restaurants, so I tend to omit it all together. But these rice noodles were cooked to my liking, and with just the right amount of spice from the fresh chilis. Panang curry- took this home to my boyfriend and sister. Wasn't able to try it right away (sat in the fridge ~6 hrs) but after a good toss in the microwave, it was still delicious. The meat was tender and the bell peppers weren't over cooked. They maintained a slight crunch, while still having soaked up a lot of the flavor from the curry. I can only imagine how it would have tasted fresh. Overall, I paid about $40--not bad, considering that I ordered 3 dishes, a drink and tipped the waitress. The only critique I have is the wait time. Waited about ~25 minutes to receive my order, but it was well worth it! Certainly not something that would affect my rating. Tldr; the wait time was a bit long and the seating area lacks ambiance, but the food was well worth the wait and the staff's attentiveness made my experience all the more enjoyable. It's a building with an iPad to many restaurants. There are no customers and only 1 person working the back. It took over an hour from the time I called and paid for the food to get my food. I'm glad i was able to try the Thai food here. It's definitely better than the Thai restaurant near me. The pineapple fried rice was my favorite dish! I usually do not order this whenever I have Thai food because of my dislike for pineapples, but it was pleasantly surprising to have it in this dish. We also ordered the Pad See Ew and it was okay. The noodles were a little soft and the meat was slightly overcooked but the flavor was still good. We also ordered the green curry. The consistency wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be thicker but it was definitely thinner. It was jam packed with flavor though and had a kick to it. I highly suggest getting their Thai tea! I wanted to like this place. I placed an order through Door Dash so I'm unable to speak to the service or ambiance. I ordered 3 items: pineapple fried rice, the Tom yum soup and the yellow curry. The pineapple fried rice was delicious. The other 2 dishes were so watery. The Tom yum soup was basically water with spices thrown in and just tomatoes and basil leaves in there. The curry was watery and barely had any chicken, mostly just tomatoes and onions. I will NOT be ordering again as each of these dishes were priced at $17 each. Definitely not worth it. I ordered the Tom Kha soup and Pad Thai. The Tom Kha soup was great for a cold day, and came with rice. The Pad Thai was some of the best I've had recently and by far my favorite dish - from the crunch of the peanuts and sprouts, to the balance of sweetness and spiciness, and the nicely cooked tofu! Every dish tasted super authentic and fresh. There is also so much in each order, we still had about half of our food leftover. It is really hard to choose between which dish was my favorite. I was in the mood for authentic Thai food and decided to give this place a try! It was a little difficult to find without the sign but the food is so worth it. It's located inside Chups- which showcases other menus from different chefs as well! I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was amazing. A little on the spicier side but it had so much flavor. And you get SO MUCH food! It's really a good deal! I really enjoyed it and decided to order the Pad Thai and Green Curry to go for dinner later. Both of these, did not disappoint either! I recently found this spot casually looking for dinner with a friend and we loved it! We ordered a Pad Thai, a Thai iced tea, and drunken noodles, and all of it was delicious! The drunken noodles were my personal favorite. The flavors were very well balanced and it the recipe felt very unique - definitely different from the other Thai restaurants I frequent in LA. The social kitchen concept was also really cool, as it housed multiple different local restaurant brands in one common space. As someone who orders take out a lot, that kinda variety is something I'll be coming back for. The food here is absolutely delicious. From start to finish it was such a smooth experience. It was super easy to order the food from the ordering kiosk. There was even a person close by to help with any issues and to offer recommendations. You are even able to order from different menus that they have available. The price point of the menu items was super reasonable as well. It didn't take long for the food to arrive and it was worth the wait! We ordered a noodle dish and a curry with Thai iced teas. Came here with my siblings and it was a little hard to find at first. I believe they were partnering with Chups Social Kitchen, so there wasn't a clear sign on the building itself, but there was a large sign posted outside of the front door that was easy to spot once we parked. It was easy to order through the tablet they had at the front desk. There was a bit of a wait for the food, however I don't think they had expected such a huge turnout (cheers to celebrating and supporting small businesses, yay!). The wait was extremely worth it. Every bite was full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. We ordered the Pad Thai w/ chicken, Pad Kra Pow, pineapple fried rice, and the Tom Kha. As the dishes came out, I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, but if I would have to choose it would be a tie between the Pad Thai and the pineapple fried rice, and I usually don't like pineapple fried rice that much.
