We stopped by here the other week during our visit to the Packing District- and it was a very good decision. The food tasted amazing, and service was fast and friendly too. We ordered the Drunken Noodles with Pork Belly - spice level 3, and bf got their Power Greens with Grilled Chicken and steamed veggies. I was debating between spice level 3 or 4 - and I ended up very happy with 3 because those noodles had the perfect amount of spice. Their highest level was 5 - and we all know not to mess around with Thai spice levels haha. All in all, I think we found our new favorite spot at the Packing House and we can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes! read more

So after walking around I settled on the bbq spot across from this place. The line was long and I got to looking around. I saw the coconut milk fried chicken and it just called to me, so I hopped out of line and got in the line for White Elephant. I placed my order and walked and got a beer. I grabbed my food and food a spot. The spinach salad with feta cheese and pecans was amazing. The chicken was so fresh and fried just right. The batter was a bit much and I picked some of it off to enjoy the chicken a bit more. The curry sauce that was paired with this was amazing as well and just enhanced the whole experience. Some boo-boo Thai food! Crappy quality pork belly in the fried rice with pork belly. The pork was mostly fat and didn't taste fully cooked. Ordered truffle fries with the orange chicken and received double rice instead. Didn't get the truffle fries we ordered. I ordered a side of sticky rice and a side of sweet coconut cream to put on the sticky rice. Didn't receive the sweet coconut cream. The pros: The spicy basil sauce is fire! 10/10 would recommend!!! Walked around for a bit trying to decide what to get and White Elephant had me convinced. Got the Pad Thai, chicken for my protein and spice level 3 and it was honestly pretty good! Not dry nor too spicy, I say it was the perfect medium. The dish blended everything well together and my dish was gone before I knew it. I do love how they make it a point to caution that this is Asian spice, not your typical spice level that you'd see at any American fast food chains or restaurants. The menu has classic and modern twist dishes. And if I'm being honest, the classic dishes were more appealing, only because I can't help but gravitate towards the familiar. Maybe it's because I've aged. Whatever, I'm 95% okay with it. I finally went to Anaheim Packing District for the first time and got decision paralysis from all the amazing food options in the building! Eventually, I opted for White Elephant, which has a comprehensive Thai menu itself. I got the Tumeric Grilled Chicken and an order of fried dumplings. I was so pleased with the amount of food! It took a little bit for it to come out, but it was worth the wait. I was able to eat my lunch inside the gorgeous Packing District atrium. One of many trips to my favorite food haul! I love the Anaheim Packing House! There's so many options to choose from, and majority of the time, the food is great. Parking: Their parking lot is small/med size. Parking will be most difficult on weekends, and very easy on weekdays. There are also some street parking, but beware of towing. I noticed they only offer valet parking on the weekends. I valet parked my vehicle once for about $7-10 (including tip; most likely increased). But I don't even bother trying to find parking in their lot or valet anymore. I only park in the large structure on the corner of Anaheim Blvd & Broadway then walk over. It's free 2 hour visitor parking and less stress. Ambiance/Environment: White Elephant is located on the top level, to the left when you walk in. They have very small seating in front of their location. Service: Our cashier was quick and efficient. Throughput was under 10 minutes. Both the cashier and the cook who handed us our order made small conversation with us, and they were funny. Food: I ordered the Pad See Ew with steak. I thought the portion size is medium/large. It wasn't too salty, filled with flavors, and definitely savory. They cut the steak into tiny bite sizes, and they also cut the noodles also. I'd prefer a bit more steak and broccoli, but overall this dish was a 4/5. Pricing: Prices are $$$ more than average. Majority of their main dishes were $19+. Considering their location, I'm not surprised. But yes, they're very pricey. read more

I really enjoyed coming to the Anaheim packing house. It was my first time here and I will say it certainly won't be my last! There are so many restaurants and things to look at here, as well as nice backgrounds for photo opportunities. I decided to get items from many different restaurants inside and one of my favorite has to be the pad Thai from White Elephant. The chicken pad Thai is remarkable, you can choose which protein you would like and is really great. I also got a Thai milk tea which was absolutely delicious. The pad Thai also comes with the peanuts on the side and it is extremely fresh. There are many people ordering, so it does take about 20 minutes to get your order but it is definitely worth it as everything is made fresh to order. The person who took our order was very nice. It is located in a pretty busy corridor of the packing house, so be mindful of that. There are tables available right next to it, but an available one may be hard to come by. The atmosphere in this place is unlike any other, and I definitely recommend going if you haven't already. read more

I think there were also online orders being placed as well so the wait can be especially deceiving on the weekends. The "medium" pad Thai I got was more like 7/10 spicy so beware. They have your traditional thai dishes like pad see ew & drunken noodles but they also have unique proteins like coconut milk fried chicken & crying tiger steak! I ordered the Honey Pork Belly($19): Crispy pieces of pork belly served with fried garlic with a little bit of sweetness from the honey. The jasmine rice was also good. Portion size was decent even though the price is a little bit high for me but I got a good amount of meat in my box! This place is located upstairs in the packing house, close to the Pie Hole stand in the middle area with the seating. We ordered a pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with chicken to share and they were quite flavorful and had a GREAT kick with the level 3 spicy. They were a bit skimpy with the veggies/meat, but the taste was there and I liked the large, fat rice noodles. I was the 2nd order for them, and it took a long time since everyone was chit chatting and not making food for a while. Once they noticed the tickets, they started making food. However, they would get distracted and continued to talk to an older lady who was leaving. Maybe an owner? Everyone was moving at a snail's pace. With 6 people behind the counter, you would think someone would be on top of it. I watched them walk back and forth, trying to figure out what food items went in which container. The portion of the rice and pork belly was decent and tasted good. The salad took half the book and had a lot of feta on it. I didn't see or taste any cilantro dressing. The drunken noodles was really good, definitely 10/10. The panang curry was decent, 7/10. We came on a Saturday night so the place was really busy. There was no cups for water and we had to ask for extra utensil and napkins (as those were not put out for grab). "The Tale of Two Orders" It's been a minute since I've last been to the Anaheim packing house. I was expecting it to be packed on a Saturday during lunch hours but the rain did a good job scaring the weak, timid, and less committed diner's. Busy, yes, but the abilty to find a seat in less than 1 minute at a "trendy" place like this means it's a good day! I have my usuals haunts but I did a quick tour and I've never seen White Elephant before. It popped out with its big ol sign & open busy kitchen. Craving Thai made eating here an easy decision. The menu reads well and everything sounds mouth watering but I went with Panang with pork belly and spice level 3 with white rice. Next, I wanted to go with a less conventional meal, Coconut fried chicken, topped with paprika other spices sliced fried garlic and a sweet chili sauce. It came with a salad and sticky rice. We asked for a mango sticky rice but being that it was out of season they weren't serving it. Lastly, We ordered their sweet cream thai tea. Being that Everything is made fresh to order, I was skeptical when they told me it would take 15 min. Of course with their conveyer belt style process and the orders being shouted out to the cooks in advance my skepticism was dashed. Upon receiving our order we found a table to sit lickitysplit, less than 30 seconds, amazing. City 1: The Porkbelly Panang was steaming hot and the scent hit my nose and triggered my drool senors. I carefully took a sip of the soup and I was brought back to phuket, getting a massage, and riding tuktuk's! The coconut's creaminess smoothened out the curry's earthy spiciness without taking away the boldness of what makes this dish amazing. Spice level 3 was spot on where my nose was sweaty but I didn't fear the next bite. "Pork belly Panang where have you been all my life?!?" The fatty meaty pieces of pork belly were generously paired perfectly with the Panang. Lastly it would be sacrilegious to not have white rice to accompany the dish. Review 5/5 stars City 2: Coconut fried chicken. Usually when one eats traditional ethnic food there's no surprises, most times the flavor profile is in a obvious range. But going out on limb and ordering a fried chicken fusion/Asian type dish, all bets were off. Food arrived piping hot and that's the best time to shove food in your mouth, so that the flesh on the roof of one's mouth is melted off and for a week all your meals are ruined cuz your tongue hurts(jk don't do that!) I appreciated the hot freshness but decided to tackle the salad first the salad was impressive: Kale, walnuts, and a sweet citrus vinaigrette dressing, I loved it! Scarfed it down, which gave the chicken enough time to cool down. The chicken's visuals were on point. My eyes told my mouth that a crispy, meaty, juicy, Flavorful, coconutty, and garlicky goodness is gonna blow my jaw off. First bite...hmmmmm...second bite...hmmmmm...third bite same as the first two. Hmmmmm crunchy yes meaty yes but no juicy, coconutty, garlicky explosion. Besides the crunch it was lacking a flavor punch, I was disappointed. I really wanted to like but the dry flavorless crunch was uneventful. Even dipped in the sweet and sour sauce the bite was empty. Not necessarily over fried but it just wasn't juicy or flavorful. At least it wasn't greasy. The sticky rice was good. Rating 2.5/5 stars Sweet cream Thai tea was impressive from start to finish. I watched them add the dense sweet cream on top of the tea. As the cream floated on top it slowly liquified and like a lava lamp the cream slowly streaked to the bottom making the cup look like a Jackson Pollock masterpiece. The balance between the tea and cream was great. I do prefer a more stronger tea flavor but the cream added a nice rich creamy sweetness that made it arguably better than any Thai tea I've had in Thailand. Rating 5/5 Each city(dish) deserved its own score but overall I give my experience a 3.5 I feel avg down to 3.0 would still be fair but the Thai tea was so delicious it will help me confidently give this a 4/5 overall. The Anaheim Packing District was a bit overwhelming with the endless options, but I'm glad I picked this place to grab dinner! The Pad See Ew was full of great flavor, but was a bit greasy. My body's sensitive to grease and I can't eat too much of it without feeling nauseated, which is what happened 1/3 of the way into eating this. I do think it was a bit pricey at almost $20. The cashier was not very welcoming and I felt hesitant to order at first. The wait for my food was reasonable (20 minutes) considering they seemed to have a handful of in-person orders along with food delivery ones. Overall pretty good experience here. Have been to White Elephant twice now, and the food has been great both times. Since it is located inside of the packing house, parking can be quite hard to find unless you decide to do valet. Another thing to keep in mind is that they don't have their own seating so you will have to find a table or a space to eat at somewhere around the packing house. If it is a busy night, that can be nearly impossible. We have tried the Coconut Milk Fried Chicken, it's nice and crispy, and juicy. It is seasoned quite well. The Basil Puffy Tofu is also a great choice. Our go to sides are the sticky rice and the Arugula Bae salad. Anything you try on their menu is bound to be a hit! We love variety, so we ordered from a couple of spots and added the Drunkin Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice from this spot. We arrived around noon on a Sunday, just avoiding the rush and enjoyed the awesome outdoor seating. Make sure to ask for the correct amount of utensils, plates, napkins and hot sauce. The rice and noodles flavorwise were delicious, but what completely turned me off was the large amount of oil swimming at the bottom of the container. We had leftovers which we placed in our handbag, only to discover that it had leaked all over the bag and everything touching it. I was bummed when I discovered we weren't given any hot sauce, but the drunkin noodles had a decent kick of spice. I still can't believe how much oil was left in the containers. I've been looking at White Elephant's pictures on Instagram so I know what to get when I come here. Should I get Crying Tiger Steak or Fried Chicken? Located on the 2nd floor of Anaheim Packing House, I went here and got the Basil Puffy Tofu with rice and kale, and a Sweet Cream Green Tea because lent. I could eat the tofu by itself with. It comes with a sweet, tart and spicy dipping sauce. You only need a little to let the flavors pop. I don't know why I got kale when I could have gotten spinach or arugula. I panicked! The kale is uncooked. It already takes forever to chew cooked kale. I'll be eating raw kale until the next lifetime. The Sweet Cream Green Tea was also a product of panic and wanting to try something different. It was good but I really like Thai tea. The line when I went was 5 people deep. You can choose from their classic menu or modern menu. Pick your base and pick your protein. Pay for your food. Wait for a few minutes to pick up your order. My food took 20 minutes to be ready.
