Ladd's is bad for downtown. They have numerous junk cars that have not moved for years, even though that it is against county ordinance to store cars outside of a tow lot they refused to trim their bushes and it creates a unsafe intersection. They are bad for downtown they are bad for the neighborhood. They are a bad deadbeat business. read more

The front end of my 2015 car was damaged by an unexpected post in the road. I went to 3 different autobody shops and was told I needed all new Toyota parts = fender, grill, hood, etc., at thousands of dollars. Ladd's looked at it and said I needed a couple clips from Toyota. Once clipped, the front looks fine and that post in the road only cost me $300. Yes, it isn't factory specs, but it is road worthy and looks good. Sometimes, that's all we need. read more

Our new teen driver had their bumper nearly ripped off their car in the high school parking lot. So we had to have it fixed and didn't want to have to buy a new bumper. Just appalled at a how little disregard for people and life and little professionalism this company has. It makes me wonder how long would they stay in business should drug testing be mandatory in the rd assistance business. I will spare you the details, but it involved one of their drivers and me - a mom of two walking a dog on a pitch dark narrow rural street. I am writing because ibam rarely the person that a healthy person would pick on. The horror and sheer fear must have shown in my face, when the driver suddenly stopped to aggressively mansplain about the speed limit. When I asked for his name he accelarated and got away. This again is from a huge flat bed truck . I don't know what others think, but in my world that is not the correct posture of someone doing road assistance work. Oh to add insult to injury, the driver mocked me sticking his left arm out as he left on that huge clunky noisy thing. NOT nice. read more

I tore up the right side of the car really bad on a fire hydrant (don't worry - the hydrant wasn't damaged) and the insurance quote was about $8k - totaled. Lyle was awesome and figured out how to replace the passenger door with a used one (in the correct color even) and did some other magic to complete the repair for MUCH less money and now I have my car back. Not totaled - haha. Lyle was super-friendly and communicated well and got it done quickly. What a miracle! Victory is mine! read more

Lady's is a wonderful repair shop in Felton and I would recommend people from Santa Cruz County bring their cars to this shop. My son's car needed body work before he drove to college. Ladd's repairs exceeded our expectations on this older model car. Now our newer car needs a replaced bumper cover. So this is for the customer service. 5 days ago i took my car in to get an estimate. Lyle said he would call me later that day. No call. Tuesday no call. Weds no call. Thursday no call. Today i called at noon... A guy said lyle was at lunch and that he would call after lunch. No call. No call all week... No email all week. I get the hint....ill go elsewhere. I know its a small job and maybe they do not want to waste their time. I get it. But do they not care about bad reviews and word of mouth? Ladd's lost my business and respect. My car has been breaking down often lately, and The last 3 times I've needed a tow its taken ladds over 2 hours each time. I've generally been about 4 blocks away and I was having towed to the shop literally next door to Ladds. The guys have been apologetic and nice. But they need to hire more people or get more trucks because they lost my business. read more

THis was a WONDERFUL company to have my car repaired at!! I had been in a car accident in the Redwoods and decided to have the car towed to Ladd's because I didn't want to hassel with AAA or my insurance with taking it further. I am VERY glad I did! Lyle kept me informed about what was going on with my car (even though my insurance company did not) and the insurance company. I would have gotten my car back faster if the insurance company had been on top of its information. Great service and I feel as if the car was better than before the accident! I wished I either lived closer to them or they were closer to the bay. If I could always have the option for an Auto body shop, THIS IS THE PLACE I WOULD TAKE MY CAR!!! Great service. A guy named Josh came to my house on a Friday afternoon - of course the car didn't make the sound I called about when he arrived. Still, he drove the car back and forth a few times, then said he wanted to remove the wheel and take a look. He was able to clean out what's was stuck (and pretty quickly too). Didn't have to tow my car down dealership, and didn't have to give up our family-mobile for the whole weekend. read more

Awful service, I have AAA and have needed a tow twice this last month and first time said for my vehicle to be towed it needed to have current Tank? Wth ( it's being towed on a flat bed!!) Being a girl, there are many people in the auto business who think you are stupid and gullible and it will be easy to rip you off. I had a dent in my door and a dent in my fender. I was told in somber tones my entire door would need to be replaced. I was given a quote that was over half of my monthly salary. It was complete BS. I got all the body work done by another local professional for $200, yes two hundred dollars. My door did not need to be replaced at all, nothing was wrong with it, it was just dented. What I resented more than anything was the attempt to worry and scare me when I was told my whole door needed to be replaced which was a total lie. To me that goes beyond aggressive up-selling into behavior that resembles a con artist. Unprofessional, unethical. Avoid. read more

We live in Bonny Doon & have a Ford Ranger truck(old) that wouldn't start & after trying a few things & even putting in a new battery still wouldn't start. Called AAA to have it towed to our mechanic. JJ from Ladd's came out & said he wanted to try something before he did the tow...turns out he knows Rangers well & did a little magic on the battery cable connections...darn thing started right up & JJ saved us a big towing fee...great service and a big thank you to JJ. They are wonderful to work with. They do a perfect repair job on the car. I have twice repaired my car without using my insurance and they worked with me to keep it as low as possible and still make my car pretty again.
