Which was complicated because I cannot do local anesthesia and need to be put under. I paid an exorbitant price for this. Within a few days, one of the temporary crowns broke. The dentist had convinced me to have him make the permanent crowns just as I was going under anesthesia. He said I could get anyone to put them on for me after I moved. When I moved, I found that no one here would do it for insurance purposes. I tried to get the dentist to refund the money I paid since I could not use the permanent caps. I had paid for them with the Commenity Bank credit card he had me open up. He wanted me to fly back to Orange County from Hawaii to get him to do it. However, he did not offer to pay for my flight. I found this absolutely ridiculous. I thought absolutely no response from him after that. He would not refund the money. I contacted Comenity Bank, who would not give me a refund or try to deal with them. They kept telling me I had received all the services, ignoring the fact that I still had two teeth without permanent caps, and one without even a temporary. This has been a nightmare. I have written letter after letter to Comenity Bank, and have written several emails and made phone calls to the dentist, which are never returned. Everything was totally unprofessional. He should never have asked me right before I was going to go under whether or not, I wanted the permanent caps. Up to that point it was never even considered that I would have him do it. I was going upon his expertise and recommendation. But he was giving advice that he really knew nothing about. Advice that cost me $2800. I'm still fighting with him and the bank 10 months later after writing numerous letters. It's been a nightmare.

I was clear that I only wanted an appointment to talk about tooth whitening as I had a regular dentist for everything else. The appt. was made, I went in and for whatever reason, a full dental exam was done on me even though I specifically stated I only wanted a tooth whitening consult. So, I get done and get ready to leave and a receptionist told me it would be $112. What? I said for what? She then said, very sarcastically, that dentists don't work for free. I explained that all I wanted was a tooth whitening consult, and they didn't care. She finally said we'll work something out so I left. Several months later, I receive a bill from them in the mail for $112. I called and asked what that was about. I was told that I didn't have insurance, to which I replied that was wrong, and I did have insurance. Right there on the phone, she verified my insurance, billed it and told me that they covered it and my balance was zero. Still not sure why I had a balance at all since I didn't ask for a dental appointment. This last summer, I decided to try them again as Dr. Wight was very nice. In July, I scheduled an appointment but had to cancel it as a medical issue came up. A few weeks later, I received ANOTHER bill for $112 for the first appointment in July of 2023! The bill she told me insurance had covered. I have a feeling I was re-billed because I cancelled my appointment. Not good business, in my opinion. I don't understand this place. I'm not paying for a bill that was covered by my insurance company for an appointment I didn't make in the first place. Very sad, but typical California business. It's all about the money, not the patient.

The front desk staff at the new location, Angie, is absolutely awful, consistently rude and disrespectful when you call. She is completely incompetent at answering questions about billing. I emailed them and they never responded. I called twice because they didn't pick up my first call and the first thing Angie asked is "Did you just call twice!?" then she SCOFFED audibly over the phone. I guess calling twice is a crime! Their statements are always inconsistent with what I actually owed and Angie can never explain it until she was finally fed up and patched me over to another staff. They also no longer accept my insurance once they changed offices. The unprofessionalism and rudeness from the front desk is not worth it. I will not be coming back.

This update is way over due. I'm finally done with the Invisalign, and had some much needed bonding…read morework done to my teeth to give them more ' finished look'. I had one tooth that was misaligned, and the same tooth was very short causing it to look even worse. Now that my teeth are straight, Dr. Stein elongated the short tooth and fixed another front tooth which had a small chip. I thought I would be in her chair for at least an hour for this procedure. She was so fast, I was done literally in 20 min or so. You can tell when someone knows what he/she is doing. Dr. Stein clearly knows what she is doing. She made what seemed like a difficult cosmetic work look so easy. Now it was my turn to inspect the results. I almost couldn't believe how natural my new teeth looked. She created completely new shape to the short tooth and the other chipped tooth was also meticulously fixed. She matched the color exactly, and even with close inspection, I could not tell where the synthetic bonding material was. I've attached a pic of my teeth. Take a good look, and see if you can tell which two teeth were the ones she fixed. I had always wanted to fix my teeth but never felt comfortable with my past dentists so I never did anything about it. I had a good feeling that Dr. Stein was the one, and I'm so glad I went through with it. It was a long journey but I would do this all over again. If you are looking for a new dentist to go to or a talented cosmetic dentist who is going to help you obtain the most natural looking teeth you have always wanted, go see Dr. Stein. You will be glad you did!
