I just wanted to recommend my beautiful dentist, Dr. Raji Arunachalam DDS, to Ladera families. I've been going to her for about a year now, but I was previously at different dental offices in Ladera. Dr. Raji used to work at really busy practices where she would have to run from one patient to the next and would never have enough time to interact with them. She now has her own practice where she is the only dentist and has two extremely hard-working and passionate assistants who want to become dentists one day. She works the front desk, does all the cleanings, and dental work herself. She is such a kind and personable person. Every time I go to her clinic (I need routine cleanings every 3-4 months) I am the only patient so there is no need for me to wait and all her attention is on me. She never books more than two patients at a time so she always has plenty of time to interact with her patients and she always does a thorough job. I love her and her assistant, Harishma. Being new to the area, I was originally referred to another ladera dentist. After my visit there, I was shocked when they told me I needed an invasive deep cleaning (costing thousands of dollars), despite having always taken care of my teeth. I was seeing my previous dentist regularly and was never told my gums were that bad. I then scheduled with Dr. Raji for a second opinion. She told me that my gums were fine and I just needed to floss more. She even filled a small cavity that the other dentist completely missed. After my first visit with Dr. Arunachalam, I had serious doubts as to whether she is indeed a dentist. Not only is she tremendously approachable, amazing at her job but also cares about her patients. What other dentist does that?! I was a tad bit hesitant going into her office but her pleasant demeanor put me at ease immediately and her assistant, Regan, is just as friendly. I was in there for probably over an hour during my first visit and went back another time and during each trip, the time just flew by. You almost look forward to coming back...to a dentist's! One can tell that Dr. Arunachalam subscribes to the notion that a trip to the dentist doesn't necessarily have to be daunting and does her level best to make one feel comfortable. I went in on a Friday afternoon to see Dr. Raji DDS. She greeted me with a big smile and was very professional, straightforward and really caring. I had 2 cavities filled & I had the beginnings of cavities on older filling which she took care of. Another dentist in Ladera wanted to charge me over a thousand dollars for extraneous work but not Dr. Raji DDS. She told me upfront and how much it would cost and let me know what my insurance covered. She also had gentle hands and I didn't feel a thing! She even polished my teeth afterwards. I have been coming to this dental office for over 10 years. The previous owner retired and Dr. Raji took over the practice. I have only had two dentist in my life so I was disappointed but decided to give Dr. Raji a try. She is vey warm, professional and funny. The office is quite pleasant and very clean. The staff is also super friendly. There is no up-selling and Dr. Raji will work within your budget. I am very serious about my dental care and visit 4 times per year even though my insurance doesn't cover all my visits. Dr. Raji is understanding, and affordable. Normally my Cleaning takes about 15 mins but she took the time and cleaned my teeth so well .Explained clearly how to maintain it .Most of the clinics I went to will always come up with some issues in my teeth and I know I don't have any issues .
