Beyond being so knowledgeable, she is genuinely friendly and takes her time to make sure everything is done right. It's clear she really cares about you as a human being and is fully focused on fixing the condition at hand while making sure you're comfortable. Chanel, the office manager, is just as wonderful. She truly cares about every patient in the office and goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of in every way possible. I originally went to this practice after my previous dentist of 40 years retired. It was close and fairly new looking. On my first visit, I should have turned around after I went to the men's bathroom and found it was also being used as a storeroom for supplies, ala Mar-a-Lago--MY mistake #1. When I mentioned the sanitary implications, the scheduler said it was just temporary storage for an upcoming humanitarian trip. To describe this assembly line office is difficult. Everybody has a task, and the treatment rooms are open concept, just low pony walls separating treatment areas with no doors. You can literally hear four different conversations going on at once; if you want privacy, this isn't your place. This is a large practice composed of merry-go-round 1099 dentists--never saw the same one twice in over 10 years. The great hygienist I saw was the only reason I kept going back, since I have good teeth and only had one cavity in 60 years. The pressure to upsell with fluoride treatments, shorter cleaning intervals, deep cleaning, and sometimes concerning observations about gum and bone issues (which turned out to be nothing) were just part of the upsell routine. Dealing with this by saying no, was worse than dealing with the F&I closer at a car dealer. I had one twenty year old crown that was examined by the dentist on duty and told there was hidden decay under it that should be dealt with. After the dentist poked around under the cap, I got home and noticed it affected the bite. Afraid I was going to have it come off, I reluctantly scheduled to have it replaced by the examining dentist--MY mistake #2. I had to pay ahead of time to have the appointment scheduled, and showed up in a room next to others where multiple caps were being done at the same time by one dentist. Hearing the uncomfortable sounds from adjacent rooms made me realize somebody was having major issues! Unfortunately, I was the low guy on the treatment totem pole, I was waiting uncomfortably supine more than being worked on. My tooth was hurriedly ground down A LOT and my delay was supposedly linked to the cap being "printed" and cured. After the procedure was done, the dentist said the root was close and that "we'll have to monitor it", MY mistake #3. Fast forward after weeks of dull pain in my lower jaw, which would not subside; the pain becoming acutely worse. I emailed the office and got the equivalent of a "take two aspirin" recommendation, after being told it might be a bite misalignment, supposedly a common post treatment problem. I then called the office requesting a "head" dentist appointment. Since he only works Fridays, I would have to wait the week. The pain got so bad, I got a referral from one of my doctors to his personal dentist, who saw me within the hour and immediately set me up with an endodontist for an emergency root canal, all within four hours! If the owner of Ladera can't be bothered to take care of one of his long time patients in pain, how do you think you'll fare as a newbie? After I called to cancel my Friday appointment after I told them I had an emergency root canal, they offered not even an apology or refund of the botched cavity/crown job! Learn from my mistakes and go elsewhere. No matter who your general dentist is, if you need a root canal, this is a procedure where you want a specialist. An Endodontist requires an extra two years of specialized training above a general DDS, with the specialized training, equipment, and staff who do these procedures all day. read more

From the moment you walk into this office, it's like being welcomed into a happy family! The front staff is so very kind and efficient. My visit(s) were some of the best I've experienced. From the very painless and excellent cleaning from Taylor, to meeting with Dr. Nik. I needed a new crown and have a severe reaction to all things acrylate related, so she took the time to double check ingredients. She even ordered special materials so the crown could be replaced. My tooth was pain free by the next day. Which is pretty amazing for me. I can truly say, this is a dental office that is highly recommended. read more

This kind of low quality office doesn't belong in Ladera ranch. Owner has offices in underprivileged areas and a con artist. I've been coming to this dental office for over 20 years, and I truly can't say enough good things about them. From day one, the experience has always been consistent, welcoming, and professional. The front desk team is incredibly friendly and warm. They always greet you with a smile and make scheduling, check-ins, and any questions completely stress-free. You can really tell they care about the patients and go out of their way to make everything easy and comfortable. The entire staff is equally impressive - knowledgeable, thorough, and always taking the time to explain procedures and answer questions in a way that makes you feel informed and at ease. You never feel rushed, and you always feel like you're in great hands. After two decades of coming here, that level of consistency says everything. Come here if you want to be up charged! This is the SECOND time i've had to come on here to write a review because of another awful experience. After being bombared with their laser treatment several times, after I said no, several times, I walk to the front desk. Typical billing stuff and so I paid and walked out. After telling my brother about it, he told me he wasn't subjected to the same experience as me and had no idea what I was talking about, aka the laser treatment was not offered to him. So I went back into the office and they said it was never offered and that they had misunderstood. The front desk and office manager said that they would never have charged us if he was not offered it, and that the treatment would not have been done is he did not consent to it. I wanted to talk to [hygenist name, I was too upset, rightfully so, to remember], she said she didn't know why we were charged since she never offered or did the treatment. WTF? A $200 MISCOMMUNICATION is outrageous. read more

Ladera Ranch Dentistry is the best dental office I've been to. I can't remember the last time I've been treated with such compassion and as a valued patient. Their modern practice offers so many services, including in-shop crowns that can be done all in the same day depending on your situation and dental implants (all of which I know from experience). Everything has been done with great care and expertise. My cleanings have never been so detailed! I'm so impressed with the service I've received. The front desk staff are as friendly and helpful as the dental team. They treat their patients with respect and professionalism. At my last dentist (who I had gone to for many years) really couldn't provide me with this level of service. When I changed dentists for insurance reasons I then learned what I have been missing. The individual care and the state of the art equipment made me feel like I had been living in the stone ages. I guess I was even though my last provider was only a few miles away. Dentists are great. Front desk not so much. Chanel is very pushy. She won't let anyone else help. I tried to check in and she took another client ahead of me and told me she would check me in. She spent 15 minutes chit chatting and flashing her big white teeth. Then took the next patient back to do X-rays. I showed up 15 minutes early to check in and finally went back to the desk at my appointment time and asked one of the other girls to do the check in. She's pushy when it comes to extras like teeth whitening and straighteners. If I say no once I mean no. Stop trying to sell me stuff. I don't want to see you in your too tight sweater leaning over me. That may work with the men but not me. I've been a patient for several years. The dental cleaning staff is great, the dentists are great. You just have to get past Chanel. read more

I've been in on/off pain for years with my teeth and was too scared to go forward with any treatments due to my past experiences with dental offices and I am so grateful I buckled down and trusted everyone here. They listened to my top issues and took every one of my concerns into consideration! They helped me target the most painful spots and took care of those issues first. Not only is the office itself very nice and inviting, but the staff in the front and back office are even better! I've gotten multiple treatments done here including deep cleanings, crowns, and x-rays, and they have made the experience so much easier and less intimidating. This is one of the best dental offices around. Everyone is professional and super friendly! Chanel, the office manager, is honestly the BEST! She was able to schedule multiple appointments at the last minute within our limited availability. She gave us a great tour of the office and was so kind in explaining everything and asking if we had any questions. It was everything we wanted to find in a dental office. The hygienist's were patient and did amazing work. The dentist gave great explanations and feedback and offered multiple options, it didn't feel like they were pushing or selling anything and they listened to our concerns. Also, if you are wanting braces or Invisalign, they have a great deal and Tuesday's the Orthodontist is in office and is very professional and kind and really seems to want her patients to feel better about themselves. Overall AMAZING experience from the first initial booking online, to the phone call confirmation, to the first visit and the next and the next. I had a very an unpleasant experience with this office; and after looking at other reviews, here on Yelp and on Facebook, this dental practice obviously has a pattern. I've seen a few other reviews where an almost identical experience to mine has been described. I showed up to my appointment (a simple 6-month checkup/routine cleaning) as a first time patient at this office. I wanted to try out an office closer to where I live, and I will happily drive the 35+ minutes to my previous dentist from this point forward in order to avoid the terrible service provided at this office. To be fair, the young lady that checked me in and gave me new patient forms to fill out was pleasant and friendly--that's about the only good thing I have to say. Everything else went downhill from there. This place has some of the most high-pressure sales and scare tactics I have ever experienced from ANY business. When I made the hygienist, Linda, aware that I was not interested in having any procedures done that were not covered by my insurance - (she was pushing so hard for a $200+ "premium cleaning" that I would swear she's working on commission) - she rushed through my extremely rough cleaning like she couldn't wait to get me out of there. I have never had a "bad" cleaning before this. My teeth always feel great after all the other previous cleanings--after this one, it felt like nothing had even been cleaned...I guess at this office you have to pay the extra $200 to actually get your teeth cleaned! Both Linda and the dentist tried to convince me that I needed thousands of dollars worth of work done to "prevent potential problems"--this is the first that anyone has ever told me anything like this. The dentist asked me "does the (tiny little) gap in between your front teeth bother you?! Fishing for more dollar signs... I could not wait to get out of this place, and will NEVER go back. If you have an unlimited amount of money to throw away on unnecessary procedures, I guess this is the place for you. If you're just trying to get a routine cleaning and not get hounded by high pressure fear mongering sales tactics and you don't enjoy painful, extremely unpleasant teeth cleanings that leave your teeth feeling basically the same as when you started, RUN from this place. read more
