I was informed that they don't carry pastries and that they only had it that one day because they were short on macarons. She said that day they didn't sell many of the pastries so she gave them away at the end of the day. This location is much more convenient to me than Georgetown as I don't like driving downtown. What a bummer. It was a sad, sad day as I left empty handed since I don't like macarons and I was looking forward to the pastries all week. :( I recently learned though that they will be opening a new location in Bethesda Row so I plan to get my pastries then. There was a subtle sweetness, although I would have loved to see more elements of a traditional carrot cake highlighted, such as raisins or warm spices. *Cherry Scone: reflective of the fleeting cherry blossom season. The cherry flavor was light, and it colored the dough nicely and paired well with a darker beverage. *Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip: subtle coconut shavings with barely noticeable caramel.
