Fun, and whimsical, and definitely a space with a theme. First and more importantly, the cocktails and the food is definitely quality. And they will charge you quality pricing for the luxuriousness of it all. Seating, tables, candles, ambiance. I mean, the walls lined up with crafted skulls ain't gonna pay for itself. The staff is friendly, and helpful. And classy. The places oozes class. A great place to chat and catch up with friends. Where the ambient noise isn't so loud that you really need to raise your voice to talk. As a single person who came with a book to read and study... it's dim lighting so I had to make use of candlelight. This really is meant to be more of a social spot. I came in on a weekday to catch the Suntory promotion, which came with some nice collectibles to pair with your highball. I feel like every cocktail I've had here so far has a great sense of balance and technique. I'll probably come back and try their omakase course of cocktails at some point. Is it "kami no glass?" (The Glass of God) - I haven't found one that has touched my soul to that extent, but they do have an extensive list to explore. Open to answering our questions and giving us pretty good recommendations! We got the Japanese milk bread and patatas bravas as snacks. The milk bread was complemented perfectly with the two butters we got - one sweet and one savory. The patatas bravas, omg, they were so delicious. Made with scallions and sriracha aioli, hard to dislike, when paired with perfectly crispy potatoes. As a gin lover, i was so intrigued by the sands of time, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Who knew gin paired so well with the different herbals and ingredients paired in this drink?! Cool speakeasy hidden away in downtown Pasadena. I won't spoil exactly how to find it, but it's hidden somewhere inside the Indiana Colony Market. Make a reservation, since I saw a large group were turned away due to a reservation issue. The ambiance and service were both great, and our server was very attentive throughout the night. The cocktails on the menu was creative and thoughtfully curated. Everything was well-crafted, though personally I tend to prefer stronger cocktails over infused-style drinks, so they felt a bit lighter to me. We made a later reservation and would have stayed longer but didn't know just how much of an experience it would be. Vibes here are dark and moody, and it would be a great place for a unique date, just maybe not the first one. We got the beef tartare and spicy tuna crispy rice to munch on. The spicy tuna crispy rice was worth it, the beef tartare not so much. Also decided to do the drink omakase because they make the single drink prices so expensive it still feels more worth it to do the omakase so you end up getting that instead. You tell the server what you do and don't like or are looking for in your drinks and the bartenders will make them for you. Some might be already on the menu, some may not. If there is something you really don't like and you tell the servers, they will be kind enough to replace it for you with something you do. Overall they did a good job with making mine but didn't quite hit it for my friend. The omakase is at least 3 drinks, so be prepared to have transportation after, you may be a little drunk Overall would come back or bring other people here just for the unique experience, but it is pricier than just grabbing a cocktail at a normal bar. read more

Just look for the Wanderlust and go towards the back of the building! We were then greeted by the doorman who had a series of questions. After that you are led to the bathroom, which then leads you to the space. Their cocktail names are catchy, due to the names being irreversible binomials. For example, we ordered the Beauty and The Beast cocktail (delicious and pretty drink btw!) and Friends and Neighbors cocktail. Other ones include Day and Night, Born and Raised, and Rise and Shine. They even have an omakase experience if you really wanted to try the bartender picks. For a bite, we ordered a steak tartare. It was a light-handed portion, enough for a small bite between two people if you just want something to eat in between sips. It was decent, however, not filling and I would get food elsewhere. This is a great speakeasy in the heart of Old Town Pasadena, I'd recommend it if you're looking for tasty and innovative drinks! Ladies and Gentlemen is a speakeasy-style bar located inside the Indiana Colony Market in old town Pasadena. To get here, walk through the building past Wanderlust Creamery and head downstairs. You'll come across a bunch of restrooms but little do you know, one of the restroom doors is actually the entrance to the bar. We called to make a reservation for our large party of 11 but for smaller parties you can make resrvations online at Resy. Once you walk in you'll come across a vintage and modern decor. It has leather-like seats, golden skulls everywhere, celebrity portraits all over the walls, and provocative art pieces. The sand and time ($24) came in a teapot and got more herbaceous the longer the drink steeped. It was good, balanced, and I preferred it when it steeped longer. The old and fashioned ($24) was strong and spirit-forward. The a gentleman and a scholar ($24) came in a beaker and had spice notes from the cinnamon and clove. The cocktails were theatrical and creative in their presentation. For food we had the Japanese milk bread ($10), the new crispy rice ($18), the hot honey pizza ($22), and the caviar parfait ($48) which were all delicious. The milk bread was fresh and came with a sweet and a savory butter and I preferred the latter. Of the food we ordered the crispy rice was my favorite. Overall the bar had cool vibes and great service. You'll definitely pay a pretty penny for the drinks here. It was great with a large party to try the different drinks and ooh-and-ahh when they all come out in their own unique presentations. read more

We were offered three types of water to start with: filtered, bottled, or sparkling. We opted for filtered, which arrived chilled and with a choice of lemon, orange or lime slice, which was a lovely touch. We ordered the Afghani flat bread to start with--it was pretty bland but was a good palate cleanser between cocktails. In contrast, the new crispy rice was super flavorful and had a really enjoyable combination of textures between the rice and the smoked salmon on top. My two drink choices were the Life and Death, followed by the Born and Raised. My husband's were A Gentleman and A Scholar, followed by Angels and Demons. If Wanderlust Creamery is still open, staff can open the door for you; otherwise, you'll need to loop around and enter from the back. Arrived on a whim at around 9pm. This place is a little hard to find, but if you head to the back of the little food court and take the elevator down, you'll arrive in a mysterious lobby (filled with bathrooms). You give your ID to the impeccably dressed gentleman who checks your ID and guides you to one of the resrtooms. You Press Flush and are magically transported to the inside of the bar and directly to the Hostess at the front. The interior is dark and sexy; Exactly what I want from a speakeasy environment. I was immediately sat at one of the tables and I noticed all the lovely people enjoying themselves. This place is DEFINITELY a spot for couples. If you wanna wow your significant other, come here. Its perfect for that. Me, I was on one of my world famous solo adventures, so I will definitely make it back here on a date. I do wish they had some bar top seating, It would have been better for me, but not every place is solo date friendly and thats perfectly ok. For drinks! I started with the Beauty and the Beast. Fruity delicious and refreshing. I loved it and the presentation. Very instagrammable. Next, I had the This and That - definitely the most interesting of the trio of drinks I tried. Drinks like the Beauty of the Beast and the Burn XXX really took the dining experience to another level. The flavors were interesting and fun to try, though I wouldn't say they were super smooth. We also got a few appetizers to go with the drinks. Everything looked great when it came out. The potato salad and short ribs were both well-cooked with some nice Asian fusion seasoning. The milk bread was a bit disappointing though. It didn't have much flavor, and the texture was a little dry, not like the soft and fluffy Japanese milk bread I'm used to. The pizza was tasty though, with a nice balance of sweet and savory. The ambience here is seriously something else. I am a huge fan of speakeasies so I was excited to try out this spot! The entrance is a restroom which is pretty cool when you press the flush button and the door opens up. The place is very spacious but also very dark and there's a lot of very scandalous artwork all over the walls. The waitstaff here are very attentive and polite. Some of the people in our group went for the drinks with cooler presentation. One of which had some fire and one of which had some foam but both of them just seemed kind of forced and it didn't add to the drink at all. I got a melon cocktail that tasted super artificial and a bit like cough syrup. The cocktail ingredients also just didn't mesh well together. Short Review: Nice, intimate experience for sure. Small groups of 3-4 encouraged to have more fun. Not really a date place unless you're both into this sorta thing. Service was great, drinks really well-balanced and worldly. Long Review: This place is your stereotypical speakeasy with the hidden entrance, dark mysterious vibes, cool wait staff and great drinks. The bonus is that they have really upscale bites that are way better than typical bar food. It's like Asian-fusion goodness. To enter, you have to go through the building doors in the back alley. Take the elevator or stairs all the way down to the basement where you see signs for the bathrooms. Now the TRUE speakeasy would have made you guess which bathroom door to enter, but they make it easy on you by having an attendant there to ask if you're there for Ladies & Gentlemen and then punching in the code to open the door. Once inside the first bathroom door you have to "flush" to get into the establishment through the second door. (I think they'd do better to change the code daily and give it out only to those savvy enough to find it.) The drinks are from all over the world and they instruct you to order to your taste as opposed to the type of alcohol. However, I don't do well with all types of alcohol so I limited mine to ones that won't give me a hangover. Both of mine were good, one (The Burning Man) much better than the other one I ordered. They justify the absolutely outrageous prices for their drinks by giving you a show and presenting them to you in some crazy way. Not worth the price. Just give me the drink... The food was really delicious and there was a nice selection. I will say, it would have been great for them to suggest pairing of the food with the aromas of the drinks. I do t believe that the food menu matches or compliments the varied drink selection and that's what would have put this over the top for me, and frankly justified the high prices. Ladies & Gentlemen is such a fun and high end speakeasy experience. I ordered the Beauty and the Beast cocktail, and it was more than just a drink. The presentation was creative and added to the whole experience. You can tell they put a lot of thought into both the flavors and the visual impact. We also tried the pizza with hot honey, which was the perfect savory sweet combo. This place is definitely worth checking out! read more

We had this place bookmarked and decided to come yesterday since we were going to be in Pasadena and let me say this is Pasadenas best place in my opinion I have not ever came across another speakeasy with food and drinks and everything just so perfect. Each drink we ordered came out with a presentation and not only did it look good like other places it was delicious; side note if ur looking to go have shots they don't do that. each food item we ordered was immaculate one was better than the other I believe we tried almost everything besides like 3-4 things and I'm already craving everything I ate yesterday because WOW! Now our waitress deserves her own few sentences because she was one of the best waitresses I've had in a very long time we had a million questions about every drink we told her what each one of us like and she picked and paired all of us with a drink that we loved so much we all had 3-4 rounds of it. She was smiling and happy and so friendly we literally wanted her to clock out and sit down with us that's how much we loved her. I will be coming back on a Friday and requesting to sit wherever RAYA can be our waitress, she deserves a recognition a raise something. Service is good, ambiance is good, even music is good... but I was actually really disappointed by the drinks. The flavors sound amazing on the menu and we were kind of told that the cocktails come with unique presentations, but in reality it was really gimmicky. Looks like they regularly switch up their menu items to keep things interesting though. My cocktail didn't taste anything like what it was supposed to contain (which was pandan, either some fruity or floral notes, and a creamy liqueur) and the presentation wasn't cohesive. It was supposed to resemble milk and cereal but why? It didn't pair well with the drink itself at all in my honest opinion.
