We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

This time, my eggs were unfortunately way over cooked. I didn't want to complain or anything, so I just ate it. Luckily my wife's eggs were runny and cooked perfectly. Also the potatoes were not as crispy this time. Conclusion - The food is good. First time we came here it was better than the 2nd time, and this was only 2 weeks apart, and ordering basically the same thing, eggs Benedicts. As mentioned, 2nd time my eggs were over cooked. We still really LOVED dining here and definitely will be back soon to try their dinner since both times we came here was for brunch only. The ambience was really amazing truly. We've only sat on the patio, but it was very peaceful, not too loud, and felt quite romantic. Parking: There is valet, but both times we came for brunch (around 10:30am) and found street parking very close by. I would imagine street parking could be harder at different times of the day, but for early brunch there was plenty of street parking available.

Not much to say but service has always been above and beyond for us and I love eating here. Alexanders is special for us because it's the time we spend the most eating what we like. Usually we order the A5 kagoshima special, but it was a 20oz which was way too big for us. We opted for a cut of the Miyazaki and Sanuki. They were absolutely delicious. When you've had as much A5 wagyu as you wanted, you know that the small cuts have to be insanely delicious to be meaningful. Every bite was extremely juicy and tasty. The salt plate is always one of the highlights of the night and each one makes the flavour of the meat pop out. Side dishes are also always perfect. They have my favourite mash and also some of the best wagyu fried rice I've ever had. Their bread plate is also the best appetizer, the three butters they bring out always taste fantastic. Alexanders is the go-to anniversary restaurant for a reason and it has always been with every dollar. From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. So, it was nice to be quiet today. Our service was friendly. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which is a huge sandwich and it was delicious. It was not really spicy; however, I know -- for the masses. It was still absolutely delicious though. I did upgrade my salad to the side Cesar salad and it also was delicious. The bigger issue was how absent the service felt. Our server never came back for a second round of drinks, and I had to go to the bar myself. When I mentioned it, the response was basically that the server was busy with another table, which felt dismissive given how long we had already been waiting. No one was busy. By the time food arrived, it was around 6:45 PM. The problem wasn't just the wait, it was the lack of communication or basic hospitality the entire time. I actually emailed the restaurant directly after our visit and never heard back, which is disappointing and honestly says a lot. At this point, it's hard not to feel like they just don't really care about the customer experience or about keeping people coming back.
