We happened upon this lovely little sweets shop with an expansive offering of detectables, with quaint tables and an excellent tea menu. We each ordered our sweet of choice, for me the Lemon Cake and for my Hubby, the Rose Cake. I then ordered the Laduree Specialty Tea and he ordered the Marie Antoinette Tea. We both loved the cakes, both were the perfect amount of sweet and flavor and the teas were so complimentary in flavor to our sweets. The service was very good as well. Didn't realize there was a La Duree in Dublin! We did not plan to treat ourselves here, but my sweet tooth could not turn down the opportunity. The shop is cozy; all of their beautiful pastries greet you front and center when you walk in. There is a small area to dine in the back, and since it wasn't crowded at all we were able to sit as a party of 6! Our group's favorites were the fraisier, the ispahan, and earl grey tea. Try to go earlier in the day so you have your pick of the lot- once they sell out of pastry in the display case, that's it for the day! Would love to come back here. A great experience for a fraction of the stress/chaos in their shop in Paris. read more

To be clear I am dissatisfied with one product. The service was perfect, the staff very helpful and friendly, the online ordering easy. I ordered several chocolate eclairs. I have had better and would only rate them art 3 out of 10. The choux pastry tasted like processed food and not freshly made (more like cardboard) . The chocolate filling was very average. And the price is outrageously expensive for that quality. I think the eclair would benefit if it was made of dark chocolate too , but that's my taste. read more

The rudest service ever!!! Came earlier in the week and most pleasant service. Today it acted if they wanted to get rid of us. Was here trying to buy a box to take home and they seemed to want and shush us away. You only get a free macaroon if it is to go. My daughter wanted her Cap in a real cup. Exquisite. Decadent. Gorgeous. Devine. Classy. These words describe this adorable space perfectly. My friend and I were walking the streets of Dublin and came across this little tea room. With all of the perfectly crafted and displayed treats in the window, we had to stop in. I'm not a huge macaroon fan so I indulged in a Carmel pastry. I paired it with a hot cup of black tea and creamer. I've never had an experience quite like this one. You MUST stop by if you're in the area. I felt like a queen for about 45 minutes. They have everything your tastebuds desire and gorgeous gift boxes to take home. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive despite the heavy foot traffic. I'm one of Those People who will visit a Laduree whenever they stumble upon one. The six-pack macaron boxes make great storage containers for Sharpies, so I've accumulated quite a collection. Admittedly, I don't go gaga for macarons, but I will do criminal things for a Saint Honoré (a pastry tower of cream puffs, icing, and berries topped with a single rose petal). I was crestfallen to find the Dublin location bereft of Saint Honorés... and for that matter many of their little opera cakes and tarts. I don't know if they got hit with a deluge of cake-gobbling tourists shortly before my arrival, but the selection consisted of a few sad looking Napoleons. (And I have had and enjoyed Laudree Napoleons, only that these Dubliner ones were looking a little ragged). The macaron selection, however, was complete. I got a commemorative box to go and munched on the 'rons as I wandered the city. Pleasant but nothing special. It's a small, cute location bedecked in your standard Laudree garb - lots of gold filigree, marble, and gilded mirrors. The store was empty, so I was free to waft all the outlandishly fancy 50 Euro candles without too much judgement. Worth a visit if you've never been to a Laudree but, if you're looking for something sit-down, I'd suggest you find a mom-and-pop tea room. read more

We got there one of our "free of tours" mornings. It is hard to find dairy free breakfast places anywhere. And this one was a third place that we stopped by to check the menu. Was hangry and tiered of looking around so just decided to sit down there and at least have some coffee. To my surprise they were able to make me a dairy free breakfast. Visited late in the afternoon (5:30pm) for a tea and tart. I ordered at the counter, and the server asked me to sit wherever I pleased, so I chose a seat next to the window. The server brought everything out, and it looked amazing. Between the lovely decor in the restaurant, and the beautiful plate and cup I was served with, everything was so pretty. It reminded me of how a little girl would set up her perfect tea party. The tea was great, as was the tart. It's a shame that I ordered the last tart, because it was so delicious, I would have ordered another to take home with me had there been more left. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because the service wasn't great. After dropping the food off, the server was nowhere to be found. Eventually I finished, and went to the cash register to pay, but found the cashier (was not the lady who served me) was a bit moody. Disappointing way to end an otherwise perfect visit. New Ladurée shop open on the corner of South William Street and Exchequer Street! It's absolutely stunning and worth a visit as the decor is so beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful and of course, the macarons are delicious! There is a seated area in the back to the left of the counter with gorgeous purple velvet seats and lovely crisp clean white tables to sit and enjoy a coffee and some macarons. Came here on a chilly January day after a walk. The staff were pretty pleasant but I ordered hot chocolate and an Americano. The Americano was placed on the counter but was left waiting for the hot chocolate so I stood there waiting. They were a bit surprised I was still standing at the till but the issue was rectified quickly. Just a small detail really I guess. Delicious macarons and hot chocolate. The coffee is also pretty decent! I love how it's decorated! Beautiful transformation of this location. It's pretty stunning in fairness and the seats are comfortable. I'd say it's quite cosy when the fire in that part is lighting. It was difficult to choose macarons but went with salted caramel and spiced fruit. Both were really tasty. We went here to celebrate a friend's special occasion and I'd read that they do a mean afternoon tea and I wanted to spoil my friend. We made a reservation for a Friday afternoon and when we arrived we were shown to our table. It was a little small for three people and I felt that perhaps there could have been a more suitably spacious table for those having afternoon tea, in particular the tables beside the wall. Our waiter arrived and gave us the menus with little to no ceremony. We had to work out the menu ourselves and were asked within five minutes of getting he menu if we were ready. We weren't of course so we were given more time. Our order was taken and we waited for our afternoon tea. And we waited. And waited. It took 30 minutes for our tea to arrive and it arrived in ridiculously hot silver teapots on wonky silver trays (the teapots actually don't fit the pot), about five minutes later the afternoon tea arrived. There was nothing hot on the cake stand so I'm baffled to know how it could take so long to get to the table. Our waiter then left us... with no cutlery or napkins. We called another server who apologised profusely and brought us what we needed. The afternoon tea itself was good, I felt the savoury sandwiches were kind of stale, the bread really didn't feel fresh to the touch, put it this way, I probably would have thrown out the bread at home. The cakes and macarons were delicious of course. Oddly we weren't offered hot water for our tea which is standard in all other afternoon tea places. We were only offered it as we were putting on our coats to leave, two hours later. The service was poor to put it mildly, maybe we just got unlucky with our server on the day. I don't think I'd go back here for afternoon tea, for 25euro per person, it just wasn't decadent or special enough. They need to up their afternoon tea game 100% for these prices. read more

I know laduree has a big following and is oftentimes praised as one of the best macaron brands but I have had better macaron at small hole in the wall bakeries. I was so excited yesterday to find out that they have my all time favorite Laduree patisserie the raspberry passion fruit tart! I went to Paris for 10 days previously in my trip hoping like hell that they would have it and my other 2nd favorite the coffee eclair but they didn't at the Paris shop and I was heart broken (that's how much I love it)! I love that there is an official spot in Dublin now - and one that does a great job of matching their Paris shop! The macaroons are just as delicious and there are so many options. I will be sitting in soon to enjoy their cafe space and the people watching from their corner location. I had an assortment of macaroons including salted caramel, pistachio, vanilla(really excellent despite the seemingly boring favor), black currant, and rose petal. They were all delicious as usual. I was excited when I heard they will open Laduree cafe in Dublin, where you can sit and order unlike the one in Brown Thomas, However, I must say I was a bit disappointed. It still is a fantastic place for having an afternoon tea or coffee with their delicious macarons , but, that is all what they have. I was expecting more desserts and even food, but no they don't serve that. So if you haven't been to laduree before especially in Paris, then i don't think it will matter, you will enjoy it for sure, but, if you are someone who has tried every thing on their menu like me then it won't be more than a Laduree-ish experience to you. They really have transformed the interior with oversized chairs and a real classic French feel. The coffee was pretty good but served in a paper takeaway cup which I hate. This will be one of my shorter reviews, as these macaroons leave me pretty speechless. As in, my mouth is too full to speak. There may only be one flavour that I'm not crazy about, and I can't even remember which one that is. Some of my favourites are Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Raspberry, Pistachio among others. I've not tried their coffee, but the cafe/store is a beautiful little space. And to top it off, the team who work there are a lovely bunch. Although I was sad to see the previous business go, I was excited to see it turned into a Ladurée shop. Coming from Paris, macarons were a delicious but rare treat of my childhood. Macarons recently started being in fashion in Dublin but I found most to be terrible. Bland and exceedingly sweet. Only laduree gets it right! So I brought my little daughter the other day, we had spent a few months in Paris recently and she'd been asking for macarons ever since. Needless to say she loved the whole experience. She tried the apple and the fig/date one, while sipping on milk, swaying in rhythm with Frank Sinatra and making funny faces with the staff. I had the one called Marie Antoinette, black tea flavoured. It was divine. Coffee was great too. If I had to add a critique, it would be that the selection is quite small, and mostly features weird and unusual combinations that didn't appeal to me. I have given this place a really good few chances at this stage as I thought 1st impression is not always the best but unfortunately this is NOT a welcoming café. Staff is horrendous! I think turnover is quite high as I see new faces frequently . The majority of them are "I am the best" attitude Brazilians. I do not care where you are from. Do your job properly! It takes ages before they serve you or even acknowledge that you are standing there waiting to make an order. I know there is a big issue in Dublin with good café service at the moment but Laduree seems to be winning the contest for the worst staff of all times. I was on the hunt for macarons and stumbled upon the jack pot! The infamous Laduree in Dublin! I still want to go to the Paris one but this will do. We even waited 30 minutes for it to open I was that hell bent on going in. The ladies were still setting up the macs when they did open and I bought a couple. The flavors are very traditional and about the same price as the ones back home. The macs are pretty good but I feel like they are not above and beyond, out of this world amazing. My family visited Dublin last July. Our family and friends decided to have our afternoon coffee here but according to the waitress they are unable to accommodate our party. Laduree is a very cute and chic little cafe, and I'd passed by so many times but today I took the opportunity to have a coffee and try one of their macarons! An Americano takeaway with one free macaroon was €3, although €2.60 was written on the menu so I'm guessing that's the price for sit-in maybe. The coffee was average, not really as good as I'd expected but the macaron (I got coffee flavour) was amazing! The shop inside is very cute and feels very French with all the delicate sweet decor, quaint tea sets and chic furnishing. The service was ok and the food menu was pretty limited, but it does seem like a nice place to go for afternoon tea. They also sell some really cute key chains which I was tempted to buy if it weren't for the price, but they would make lovely gifts. read more

Having spent many hours of my life trying to make the perfect macaron I can now see it was a complete waste of time! Don't bother making. Come here instead and try the many flavours on option. I opted for the salted caramel and it was everything I wanted. Sweet, salted, fantastic texture and just enough to make you feel satisfied without feeling you have put the biggest wedge of cake in your mouth! I paired this with the small hot choc.
