    Happy hour menu
    Ellie H.

Came here for the 3-5pm happy hour. Plenty dishes to choose from their menu, and we settled with wood-fired asparagus, Mafaldine 'Cacio e Pepe, and a glass of stateliness red. Both the foods and drinks were decent, the staff were pleasant and attentive. Parking was easy on a Thursday afternoon.

Stopped in here for dinner while traveling through Bend in October. We sat at the bar and ordered some delicious cocktails and some oysters to start. Then we got a pizza and the gnocchi to share as our entrees. Really enjoyed the conversations with the bartenders and their attentiveness. The restaurant is very nicely decorated to the point that when I walked in wearing a hoodie and shorts I wondered if I was under-dressed, but it didn't seem to be an issue at all. We'd definitely come back again if in the area.

Such a unique dining ambiance here in Bend. After being on the road from Medford, Lady Bird Cultural Society was a great place for my friends and I to unwind and dine. For starters we had their Bird's Nest, Woodfired Oysters, and Bone Marrow. We absolutely loved their Bird's Nest and is a must when you are here. My friends and I shared our entrees and each dish was absolutely delicious. We loved the Campanelle especially with its bite-sized pancetta. The balsamic beef short rib was slow cooked to perfection as the meat simply melted in my mouth. And whatever you do, do not skip out on the dessert. Their Pear Tarte with the ice cream was perfection. Just the perfect treat to end our meal. Best believe we will be back.

Weird oysters that don't have a description as to the ingredients and brussel sprouts (that were yummy)
    Molly B.

Unimpressed. Loved the interior, the drinks were fine, the brussel sprouts were good...but service is what makes a spot and a cute interior can't make up for lack of good service. We were seated at the low seats at the bar but weren't given menus, so I had to walk up to the hostess stand for them after waiting for a decent amount of time. The red-headed bartender/server tried to walk away after taking our drink order and had to stop him from walking away to order food. There were no check-ins at the table, a hostess walked around once filling everyone's water but that was it (so we had empty water for about half the time we were there), I had to flag down the bartender by staring at him from across the bar to get his attention for a check, once I got the check he again tried to immediately walk off even though I had the card & wallet on the table and nearly immediately put it in the book, and in general he was not amiable. I actually asked my friend after the first interaction of 'do you think he's having a bad day or hates it here?'. Lastly, the oysters are listed as 'oysters' with no description but they are not normal oysters - they have green vinaigrette, some roe type orange topping, and personally weren't enjoyable. 2.5 for service and not listing ingredients. 3 because the brussel sprouts and drinks.

My sister and I are visiting from out of town and had ladybird recommended to us. I am so grateful for that recommendation because we had an amazing time. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. We loved the decor! Bryan provided the best service I've experienced. His recommendations were spot on. This is now our favorite restaurant and we can't wait to visit again and go back.

Update- I gave the pizza another shot and it was so good. If you look at both my pics, you can see that it was way overcooked the first time. So now we (and you) know that the pizza should be super good and if it looks like my fluff head photo, ask for a new one!

This is the only photo I have. It's my daughter's 30th Birthday. We had dinner here and it was wonderful.

Fancy! It is fancy, but in a cool vibe type of way that you don't have to be fancy they do the fancy part The food was just so good and the cocktails are epic! The service was amazing and we will be back for sure!

This is more of a 4.5 review than a true 4. We enjoyed a very nice meal here. The interior has a bit of a speakeasy vibe, all black and white, brass and acrylic. Not sure about the decor, but the food and service were very good. We started with both regular bread with roasted garlic (I could have eaten a bowl full of the garlic. A perfect smear for the bread.) and gluten free bread with what tasted like salted butter brushed on top. The GF option is their pizza crust and it is very good, a little chewy, a little crispy. We moved on to the yellowtail crudo and a little gem salad. My only knock against the salad was it could use more orange sections. The orange really cut through the heaviness of the cheese, a nice bite of sweet and acid. For our entree we shared the 14 ounce prime rib, medium rare. It came with cheesy polenta, roasted mushrooms, asparagus in a port (?) sauce. Good quality and definitely more than enough to share. Alas, we were too full for dessert. Our server was attentive but unobtrusive. It was a fairly quiet week night, but I was impressed with the quality of the service and the meal.

Amazing food! Really nice staff, accommodating me with my dogs outside and they made sure not to forget about me!! The inside is really neat as well! Definitely will be back!

The crab cake was a masterpiece--perfectly crafted, delicate, and free of the over-salted heaviness that often mars such dishes. Paired with a vibrant pomegranate salad, the flavors danced harmoniously. The decor was stunning, a blend of timeless elegance and modern luxury, with plush seating that invites you to linger. The service staff radiated warmth and attentiveness, and the menu offered a symphony of unique, flavorful dishes. This is New American cuisine at its finest, served in a setting that feels like The Great Gatsby reimagined--sophisticated yet inviting, with a wood-fire oven and a crackling fireplace that added both warmth and charm to the cool ambiance. My sister couldn't wait to introduce me to this gem, and it exceeded every expectation.

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

The drinks are consistently great, always made with care. Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.

Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. Now I could've gotten past that if the drinks were OK. I didn't have super high hopes, but I was very excited to find a Tiki Bar in Bend while I was traveling for work. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind... Don't even come here and give it a try, just go somewhere else.... This place should not be in business.
