Lady Bird is easily one of my favorite spots. The Happy Hour is absolutely the way to go, and the food is outstanding. The Fluff Head mushroom pizza is incredible--perfectly cooked with amazing flavor, and one of the best mushroom pizzas I've had. The burrata with peaches is another must-order. The combination of creamy burrata and sweet, fresh peaches is simple but unforgettable. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is always great, and every visit has been consistently excellent. I can't recommend Lady Bird enough. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went to grab a drink the night we went to see Train. Long blonde ponytailed hostess really sets a bad tone!! You have 2-3 open little tables out front... she claims you can't sit or grab a drink since you are understaffed. So then you have 3 open chairs at the bar and she is himming and hawing about if we can sit at those. It's first come first serve I thought. Then they are holding a chair for a bf/hubby to arrive for over an hour. Wait... it gets better we order a pizza and some drinks.... Ask for cheese and peppers from the brunette with tattoos and feathered hair with large glasses for those and she says, we are OUT OF CHEESE!! GTFO!! Charge people if you all are so cheap!! You can do better Lady Bird!! Whomever is the actual main manager needs to train the front house better. Anthony the bar manager was a delight and super kind. We were in the area to see a concert and we had wanted to try this place. We had heard good things and it was very busy. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to snag 2 seats by the front door. Even with the place being super busy the service was fantastic and the drinks and food were brought out in a good cadence (we didn't feel rushed and we didn't have a lot of waiting around for what's next). The decor is lovely and the vibe is fun. The drinks are SO good- I do wish they had more vodka cocktail options on the menu. The stand out drinks were the Espresso Martini and A Night in Osaka. The menu has lots of great choices and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I would highly recommend checking this place out. We would love to go again, but only for another date night (I wouldn't bring my kids there) and we would like to try their Happy Hour as well. Overall rating would be 4.25. read more

Very solid Italian food that goes beyond pizza and pasta, although those were very tasty. Italian street corn was an excellent appetizer. Variants of elote like this usually get our attention and this was worth the order, although we weren't sure the shishitos added much. Summer burrata was decent, but not a standout over similar dishes we've had elsewhere. Strangely it came across as a little under-seasoned / bland. The fluffhead pizza was intensely mushroom and truffle flavored - if you like those flavors its delicious. Mafaldine 'cacio e pepe' was a favorite. The pasta had excellent chew/bite and was cooked perfectly and while the sauce wasn't overtly "saucy" it had a ton of flavor permeating everything. The corn was a particularly nice touch. The baby gem salad was a nice balancer to the rest of the meal with lots of brightness and flavor. We definitely prefered it to the summer burrata Overall, the food was definitely worth he visit. However, we were disappointed to find that despite their website stating happy hour went until 5pm, this was not true. We made our reservations for 445pm to join for happy hour and were told orders for happy hour had already ended. When we asked about this and pushed a little we were able to order a round of happy hour drinks, but not the happy hour food. read more

Father's Day dinner courtesy of my sons, so I was predisposed to be appreciative. As it turns out the establishment is truly excellent regardless of the occasion. We each had a couple of fabulous, well put together cocktails, some appetizers, and our respective entrees. I had the pork chop which was, quite simply, one of the best things I have ever eaten. Marvelously tasty pork with mashed potatoes and a delicious mix of corn, sashimi peppers and spiced nuts. Outrageously good. One slight issue with the server being a little bit petulant when my older son was asking for a particular drink of his own choosing. In an establishment like this, the staff should not get irritated when requests are made by customers. I was hesitant to post this review after reaching out directly to the restaurant and receiving no response. When making the reservation, we were asked about the occasion. We mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday, so it was disappointing that no acknowledgment or birthday greeting was offered. The service was also poor. Our waiter told us there was no special, but moments later, we heard another waiter describe the special and take an order for it. It had been raining, and the staff seemed flustered and rude. I tried to make conversation with the host, but he simply replied, "I'm super busy right now." After dinner, we asked about dessert and were told that only the items on the menu were available. Shortly afterward, we heard the group next to us being offered an off-menu dessert special, which they ordered. The portions were small, under-seasoned, and lacked the complexity we had hoped for. Stopped in here for dinner while traveling through Bend in October. We sat at the bar and ordered some delicious cocktails and some oysters to start. Then we got a pizza and the gnocchi to share as our entrees. Really enjoyed the conversations with the bartenders and their attentiveness. The restaurant is very nicely decorated to the point that when I walked in wearing a hoodie and shorts I wondered if I was under-dressed, but it didn't seem to be an issue at all. Such a unique dining ambiance here in Bend. After being on the road from Medford, Lady Bird Cultural Society was a great place for my friends and I to unwind and dine. For starters we had their Bird's Nest, Woodfired Oysters, and Bone Marrow. We absolutely loved their Bird's Nest and is a must when you are here. My friends and I shared our entrees and each dish was absolutely delicious. We loved the Campanelle especially with its bite-sized pancetta. The balsamic beef short rib was slow cooked to perfection as the meat simply melted in my mouth. And whatever you do, do not skip out on the dessert. Their Pear Tarte with the ice cream was perfection. Just the perfect treat to end our meal. Best believe we will be back. read more

Unimpressed. Loved the interior, the drinks were fine, the brussel sprouts were good...but service is what makes a spot and a cute interior can't make up for lack of good service. We were seated at the low seats at the bar but weren't given menus, so I had to walk up to the hostess stand for them after waiting for a decent amount of time. The red-headed bartender/server tried to walk away after taking our drink order and had to stop him from walking away to order food. There were no check-ins at the table, a hostess walked around once filling everyone's water but that was it (so we had empty water for about half the time we were there), I had to flag down the bartender by staring at him from across the bar to get his attention for a check, once I got the check he again tried to immediately walk off even though I had the card & wallet on the table and nearly immediately put it in the book, and in general he was not amiable. I actually asked my friend after the first interaction of 'do you think he's having a bad day or hates it here?'. Lastly, the oysters are listed as 'oysters' with no description but they are not normal oysters - they have green vinaigrette, some roe type orange topping, and personally weren't enjoyable. 2.5 for service and not listing ingredients. 3 because the brussel sprouts and drinks. read more

Mediocre service and mediocre food for a relatively high price point. I dined here as part of a large bridal party and was left disappointed. The pizza was all right and the short ribs were pretty okay. My frustration is with the service we received. We were given an extra entree, and when I informed our waitress of the mistake, she began to argue with us and said, "Well I guess it's yours now". It later showed up on our bill. This is more of a 4.5 review than a true 4. We enjoyed a very nice meal here. The interior has a bit of a speakeasy vibe, all black and white, brass and acrylic. Not sure about the decor, but the food and service were very good. We started with both regular bread with roasted garlic (I could have eaten a bowl full of the garlic. A perfect smear for the bread.) and gluten free bread with what tasted like salted butter brushed on top. The GF option is their pizza crust and it is very good, a little chewy, a little crispy. We moved on to the yellowtail crudo and a little gem salad. My only knock against the salad was it could use more orange sections. The orange really cut through the heaviness of the cheese, a nice bite of sweet and acid. For our entree we shared the 14 ounce prime rib, medium rare. It came with cheesy polenta, roasted mushrooms, asparagus in a port (?) sauce. Good quality and definitely more than enough to share. Alas, we were too full for dessert. Besides having the coolest name of any restaurant in Bend, with honorable mention to Spork, LBCS lives up to all the hype of over the top name. I can't tell you anything about the origin of the name using the journalist questions (who, what, why etc.) but maybe that's something for you to discover while contemplating the delicious bread appetizer. Yes, order the bread appetizer because it's really not simply bread. It's something else completely from someone who has quite an imagination. Pull apart bread with what I believed to be burrata and some garlic. No, not that kinda garlic, the kind that is cooked down slowly and with patience to make that sweet and creamy thing transformed from what comes from the clove itself. Did I forget to mention the aged pecorino? It is dusted with aged pecorino! Also, I highly recommend the scallops. Absolutely the best scallops. Cast iron seared which accounts for the nice color on the top and bottom of the scallop. There are some other flavors which I don't have the foodie knowledge but I do know that it all equals amazing. Other menu items are also very enticing so I will be back ASAP to try some other interesting flavor combinations coming from the wizards in the kitchen at Lady Bird! I have mixed feelings about this place. I love the aesthetics, and the restaurant was incredibly clean. The service I got was pretty mediocre, and the guy looked like he didn't want to be there. In their defense, I will say I only ordered pizza here, and it was just OK. I went here on a Thursday night because I was told I could get a really good pizza here. So let me start off my review by saying all I tasted was the pizza, and nothing else. Some of the food that came out of that kitchen looked incredible, but again all I had was pizza. I was immediately greeted and sat down by a kind hostess. I was very excited to try this place, but all that kind of went out the window when the server came up to our table and began talking to us. I tried to ask questions about the pizza, and his answers were curt and basic platitudes. I couldn't tell if he didn't want to interact with me, or just didn't know anything. When me and my friend said we just wanted pizza, and nonalcoholic drinks, he just kind of took our order, and then disappeared. He never once refilled my drink, nor did he try to have any real meaningful conversation with me. When he came back to ask how the meal was, I said it was just OK, and he walked away without saying anything. Again, just really bad for a server. Let's get into the pizza. I will say, that I am very tough on pizza because of the amount of pizzerias I've reviewed, and also the amount of time I've spent making pizzas. Let's talk about flavor, this pizza was absolutely delicious. I ordered something called the Scarlet fire. Olive oil, mozzarella, sopressata, roasted tomatoes, ricotta, and hot honey. You could tell the ingredients fresh, and everything really worked. So I absolutely loved the flavors. But the execution was a little rough. First off, the dough was tasty for a one day fermentation (waiter told me dough was made fresh daily). However, whoever was stretching, really didn't stretch the dough out enough. I had places where the pizza was so thick, that the dough didn't get a chance to properly cook or rise. Unfortunately, this created a perfectly beautiful exterior, but a very gummy, thick, and wetter interior. The second problem was the overall soggy of the pizza. I couldn't tell if this came from the roasted tomato, a wetter sauce, or someone being heavy handed on the olive oil. I did notice that the overall pizza was pretty oily. Any number of these things could've caused the wet soggy pizza I experienced and that was only made worse, by the thick crust that didn't seem to cook all the way through. All in all, this place was OK. And everyone seemed to be enjoying the other food. So maybe I just ordered wrong. read more

We sat at the bar and started with cocktails: I had a cosmo and my husband ordered an old fashioned--both were crafted perfectly. We also shared the Bird's Nest appetizer, and wow--absolutely delicious. It set the tone for the rest of the meal. For our entrees, I had the Fluff Head pizza with added sausage, and it was amazing. The flavors were bold and balanced, and the crust was perfect. My husband ordered a different pizza off the regular menu and was just as impressed with his. The ambiance was upscale yet inviting, with classy black and gold decor that made it feel like the perfect date night spot.
