Somehow, they remember my name and even specifics of our last conversation! This spot is basically a "Cheers" version for head shops minus the disfunctionality. I frequently go to Houston so, he called his contact in Houston that he knows rebuilds platforms to see what the time frame was & then gave me their card. I will take it with me the next time I go down that way. I also have an antique bandstand clock that wasn't working properly, I took it in, they made some adjustments & I picked it up today. He was knowledgeable, patient and happy to answer questions without any pressure to buy. I returned the following day as I had a couple of hours to spare and Scott recognised me straight away. He was incredibly patient again while I worked through a large selection of silver coins looking for specific dates to fill gaps in my collection. I ended up purchasing over 20 silver coins, including American Silver Eagles, Britannias and Maples. Prices were very competitive, based on spot + a set %, the selection was excellent, and they even sold me a spot-priced silver bar and gave me a complimentary 1963 half dollar, which was a very appreciated gesture. As a collector travelling from overseas, I couldn't have asked for better service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, fair pricing and a great range of inventory, I just wish I had planned a larger budget for the trip. Petticoat Fair opened in 1964. Both are Austin's originals. Northwest Hills Pharmacy opened its original location at Davenport Village when no other store was around, way before St. Thomas. Then they moved to Far West in Northwest Hills. They've been at their current location on the second floor at Davenport Village for the last eight years. They have a great assortment of gifts and home goods. They sell quality dinnerware at reasonable prices. I love their clearance section at 75% off! So far, I've purchased three stoneware plates at $4 each. I can tell they're good quality because they're heavier than my old Sango and Crate and Barrel wedding plates, and they contain no lead. Their plates are artisan pottery that can be used in ovens, dishwashers, and microwaves. I also purchased two Michele hand sanitizers at $2.50 each and a ceramic tea strainer for $1.25! They also wrap original priced gifts for free.
