I first went to Dedra for treatment in September of 2017 to help even the texture and complexion of my skin. She assessed my skin and deduced that I would see improvements in three months with regular treatments. She also worked with me to develop a specialized skin regimen. She told me which products to stop using and which ones to incorporate in my routine. Though Dedra sells PCA and Dermalogica products in her office, she never pushed any of them on me. She recommended products that I could pick up fro Target and the grocery store that were just as effective. When I felt I needed products with concentrated ingredients she advised on which products from her Dermalogica and PCA inventory would work best for my skin. Most people would try to sell you as many products as possible. Dedra informed me of all the ingredients in the products she selected for me and let me know how they interacted with each other. By December 2018, my skin drastically improved thanks to my home regimen and monthly treatments. I continue to see Dedra each month to maintain my progress and improve other areas. Dedra uses the latest and verified skin care treatments. Her workspace and equipment is meticulously cleaned and sanitized. I spend at least five minutes with Dedra reviewing my skin progress. If she believes I am ready for an advanced treatment she will advise me on how to prepare (not to shave, avoid certain creams and lotions, avoid excessive sunlight) for the whatever product or instrument she will use. Weeks will pass before I would receive a response. When I finally received a text message I was limited to a single time and day that did not work for my schedule. First I would like to start of by the saying the energy in the room was great I really did feel at…read morepeace. I came to charm after struggling with my skin for a full year, after having amazing skin. I had tried everything and nothing seemed to be working. I decided to give facials a try to seek professional help. Before this I had done extensive research on skin and like I mentioned previously had my hands on multiple products but nothing was the right fit. The extractions were extremely painful which alarmed me instantly but I had never gotten a facial and didn't know any better. Extractions may be discomforting but should never be painful. Also when doing extractions you're supposed to gently extract until all puss, then blood and finally when the congestion is clear you will see a clear fluid. This clear fluid is called "serous fluid" it's important to clear the sac until you see this fluid or else the sac will fill up again and cause even more inflammation. Therefore defeating the purpose of doing an extraction in the first place. I don't believe this protocol was followed because I was left with painful swollen pimples on my forehead that weren't visible before my visit. Which left me feeling even more insecure. Trusting someone with my skin was a huge step for me and I am dissatisfied and disappointed. I understand results may not have been instant but I shouldn't have been in pain and left with more skin imperfections then when I laid down. I don't believe the right procedure was followed. I do plan to follow up with someone who may be more knowledgeable and hopefully find something that works for my skin. In response to charm: I understand extractions can cause discomfort but they were making me almost want to cry and they should never be that painful extractions should have some discomfort but there should never be pain. you also didn't drain the entire inflammation which left me with more pimples and more scarring due to how harsh your technique was . When doing extractions you were supposed to drain the pus and then all blood until the oil is present and you did not do that which left the pimple even more inflamed. My cheeks were permanently scarred and I still have to seek professional help to get that prepared due to what you did.
