I'm confused at the amount of 5 star ratings here. Almost suspicious. We've tried this place several times and it just got worse each visit. I was okay with the inattentive staff the first couple of visits because the food was very good. The past two times it was a strike on both counts. Each time were the only patrons in the restaurant and yet it was like a service ghost town. Tracking someone down to get the ticket, then again to check us out. This place looks like an odd location when you find it but it's really a neat little atmosphere. Looks like they have live entertainment on the weekends. I imagine they have a regular crowd but we were just passing through town. We sat on the outside patio and the heaters they had out there were nice considering it was a little chilly. We made it early enough for the $2.99 happy margarita special and the frozen sangria swirl ($1 extra) was decent. I ordered the stuffed avocado and it was yummy! I got shrimp in mine. There could have been more shrimp but they were decent sized and it tasted great. The chips and salsa were good too. There is dust and cobwebs everywhere you look , the bathrooms are old and creaky they need to get better lights I was using the restroom and I couldn't even see my penis, I ordered the quesabirrias, terrible the meat is unseasoned and it's just barbacoa , only the outside of the tortilla is soaked. We stopped here to grab lunch while on our way to a weekend trip. This is such a cute restaurant. We wanted to sit outside, but the cottonwoods were blooming and the white "cotton" was floating everywhere. Our server was really sweet and the food was delicious. The shredded chicken was so good. I normally hate ordering shredded chicken because you never know how it will get cooked- it's 95% of the time dry and over cooked. This shredded chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. As a disclaimer, I've only visited this business once, but it was a shoddy experience. We sat outside, there was one other party seated there. We waited for fifteen minutes for our order to be taken, and another forty to receive our food. Our drinks ran dry halfway into our wait, we tried to get some service from any of the three members of the wait staff talking amongst themselves near the door with no success. I finally collected our glasses & went to fill them myself, only to be stopped & chided by a waitress. We finally received our food, which appeared to have been sitting on the warming shelf for quite a while, as the exterior was dried out & the dishes too hot to touch. The warm welcoming when first entering the door leaves a feeling of accepted and appreciation of choosing to dine in at this establishment. You feel right at home in this foreign looking restaurant. The service is A plus even post COVID. Even with reduced staff the attention one receives is one of a kind. I ordered a classic frozen margarita as I do in every restaurant I dine in and was more then satisfied. The server who was lighting fast, I should not forget to mention, brought it out to me and said they used Cazadores tequila which is uncommon since most places use Montezuma. Boy was my server right! It tasted amazing and man was it strong! After proceeding with my drink I ordered a family favorite at this establishment, Pineapple Fajitas...MMMMMM! The pineapple was toasted just right to release all the sweet natural juices into the grilled steak, chicken , and shrimp. The shredded cheese layered on top melts ass it touches the hot food. It was so fresh and was brought out so fast I could still see it melting with my own eyes! Silverware was clean clean clean. I could even fix my hair in the reflection of the heavy butter knife. The chicken and steak were cooked just right and so was the shrimp. When over cooked the shrimp tends to shrink, but man these were over sized jumbo shrimp. The tortillas perfectly warmed and ready to be made into their awaited life dream, to be turned into a taco. I began by spreading beans on to the tortilla where I could still see steam coming out both the beans and the tortilla! Placed the extremely great flavored rice on top followed by a layer of rice a little sour cream, fresh bright green guacamole, pico de gallo, chicken, steak, and shrimp. The perfect combination of flavors all packed into a delighted to be eaten tortilla. All in one I took the biggest bite I could, closed my eyes, and enjoyed this delicacy every fraction of a second with every chew and with the perfect buzz from the house frozen margarita. Perfect flavor, perfect temperature, perfect buzz, perfect feeling. It is for this moment, that all the hard work the people of this establishment put in is for. Discovered this very hidden gem on the way to Hot Springs after frantic googling to find something convenient for dinner. We almost missed it, because it's tucked off of the road behind sheet metal fencing, but were so glad we persisted! The restaurant itself is adorable, with low ceilings and a fantastic patio, and the food is stellar. We enjoyed it so much we called in lunch on our way back. The shrimp on my nachos was perfectly cooked, and the enchiladas were excellent. Salsa could use a bit more oomph and some cilantro, and I was a bit surprised by the inclusion of potatoes in the chimichanga, but the portions are substantial and everything was delicious, potatoes and all! The server for our initial visit was Crystal, and she was wonderful - prompt, attentive, and informative; the kind of person you just know you could be friends with. high protein option not for me... I almost gagged when I saw the 1 1/2 inch roach laying on my plate nestled up to a jalapeno. As my stomach turned the waitress saw it too. She quickly grabbed up the plate and curtly said "I will bring you another" I said "No thanks". I was shocked when they brought us a bill for our drinks with no apology or explanation for the rancid roach on my plate! And really the fact that they must have roaches crawling around the kitchen so much so that they can climb on a plate of food with no one noticing and that the waitress did not scream in shock but acted like it was an extra pickle, no even beyond these things I am really astonished that no apology was offered. read more
