Amazing food and superior service. The Coca-Cola Decor was so nostalgic. We were in town because we had to pick up a camper trailer. And we're looking for a mom and pop place to eat at. We went for breakfast and after looking up on Yelp and the biscuits and gravy were amazing the owner was our waitress and she was so polite and nice to us. And we asked her if we could talk to the cook cuz we wanted to hire her fly her to Phoenix take her to our favorite place here and have her teach him how to make gravy and biscuits like they had there she actually brought her out from the back and we were kidding around with her. And we asked we saw the menu and we asked her about the catfish and she said we only have catfish on Friday this was Thursday so we said well by golly will be back tomorrow to get some of that catfish. We returned about 12:30 on Friday afternoon and the place was packed. I walked in and right inside the door there were two gentlemen sitted at a table for six and I asked them could we see with them and I would pay for their lunch and they said no you don't have to pay for us just come on in and sit down we got four chairs and they were four of us so we sat down with them and we had a great conversation to them and they were so nice. We all ordered the catfish and to say that it was amazing is an understatement. My son ordered his with a bowl of pinto beans and he said they were out of this world he said they were even better than mine LOL. When we got the bill it was only $103 that was for six of us including full meals we all ordered the large order of catfish with sides and the prices were to say the least shocking how do they make any money? We were only there for 2 days and went to that same restaurant and we loved it if you're ever in Texarkana Arkansas stop by this place it is amazing. read more

This is a best kind of diner. You walk in and it has the old guys groups sitting around sipping on coffee and solving the world's problems. The service is perfect and the cost of breakfast is easy on the pocketbook. I applaud the owners and the people that work there, just a great place to get something to eat. read more

5 STARS ***** Wow, we got so lucky while traveling through and asking someone at a store if there was a "mom and pop" restaurant nearby. Folks were super nice, restaurant was clean and well lit. Had to get our food to go but surely wish we could have sat and enjoyed it there. Food is DELICIOUS!! My husband said the burger was hands down the best he ever had. In the past great friendly attentive service and great pie which I did not order this time. We ordered a daily special and a simple order of eggs, sausage, and hash browns. After waiting for over 30 minutes, a ?manager? came by and said she would check. Instead she served other/s and after about 10 minutes returned saying because of what we ordered, lunch hour etc etc excuses and with her getting huffy as I expressed frustration and dissatisfaction w excuses Food poor quality and not worth the upsetting interaction. We can excuse problems or oversight when someone sincerely graciously apologizes. Went here for lunch with my partner not too long ago. He ordered the chicken fried chicken, and I ordered the grilled chicken plate. Their onion rings and fried okra were the best I've had in a long time. Their gravy and ranch were really good too. The grilled chicken was a little dry, but seasoned very well and it was filling. Decided to try this restaurant as it is an old staple in town and my wife wanted a breakfast option. Overall the food was not too bad. The peas were great tasting and the chicken fried steak was not too bad. The mashed potatoes were real but most everything needed salt. The clientele is of an older generation but that is more than fine. If you want a quick and easy place to eat with homemade food you should check this place out. read more

I found this place on Yelp. I wanted to meet my spouse for a quick late lunch. I could have ate my arm off, I was so hungry. Pulling up, this place isn't much to look at. The inside is like a cringy vintage store. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and quick service. We might have popped in close to closing, but they didn't let that dim their shine and appreciation we were there. We all selected something off the lunch specials. This place tastes like your grandma's Sunday southern dinner. Don't come here if you're counting calories or concerned for nutritional value. The helpings are large, the carbs are plentiful. For the same price as a fast food combo, I'd rather stop here hands down. I just wish I had room for some pie. (Maybe next time). read more

Service was friendly and the food was fresh but I wasn't wowed! I think I was looking for grandmama's home cooking and instead I got the 1990's mom prepackaged hash browns, biscuits and egg beater omelet breakfast. My husband liked the catfish poboy with tater tots but he's a New Yorker so go figure. In fairness I was not excited about visiting this particular restaurant so my review maybe somewhat biased. While the food wasn't bad it just did not have that down home taste I was looking for which I think is too bad as a Southern from another Southern state who favors mom and pop dinners over chain restaurants. I think I've given up on finding consistent good places to try in this city. My experiences have been mediocre or ultimate failures no in between. read more

Passing through from St. Louis to Dallas. We like to patronize small businesses & try something new. Found this little gem on goggle. Friendly Family diner, Owners Sue & Carol waiting tables, etc. Biscuits were fresh, flaky & tasty. Gravy was delicious! Homemade & thick. Meat Omelet was filling. It is bigger inside than what you think from street view. Decor is Coca Cola with lots of locals sipping coffee. We were in & out in 30 mins. Can't beat the prices for the quality of food. Passing through and thought this sounded like a nice home cooking spot. Boy was I wrong. This was great home cooking. We got to meet Carol and Nikki who were awesome. Biscuits and gravy were 2nd only to my way wifes. Coffee was great even. Lastly, tons of coke collector items. Will definitely stop in again next road trip. No frills local joint- prices reasonable- we got the small catfish lunch plate which comes with two sides (fries, coke slaw, turnip greens, pinto beans, house salad or creamed potatoes) for 8 bucks. Soft drinks were $1.79. The fried cat fish was well done- crispy salty exterior moist interior. The salad was small and simple consisting of ice berg and chopped tomato with a dressing package. The turnip greens and pinto beans tasted home cooked- nothing fancy but good nonetheless. Seriously rockkin' dessert here. Don't miss the homemade pies! Butterscotch and chocolate pies homemade, then incredible fried pies, brought in from a local miracle bakery. A coworker swears by their cheeseburgers, but I was trying to keep it healthy and had a salad with grilled chicken which was nothing special. Just ate breakfast here. Coffee was not hot. I asked for cream, they only had powered cream. Ordered biscuits and gravy, just average taste. All severs was on cell phone and talked to customers from where they was sitting. I was a server for 10 years and this place was definitely lacking in a lot. We stopped by here on our way through town wanting homemade pie. I found them through a Yelp search for pie and we weren't disappointed! We got chocolate, strawberry and peach pies. The chocolate had a meringue topping and the fruit pies had a whipped cream topping. She even gave us a couple free slices when she heard we were on a roadtrip. Great pie and customer service.
