Delicious!! Came here with my cousin's after a game night and we didn't have a reservation. We were initially told that it would be a half hour wait but when they saw that we were willing to wait, they asked us if we minded squeezing into a booth. Really nice that they did that. We ordered samosa, rice, garlic naan, paneer Tikka, butter chicken, aloo Gobi and the chickpea curry. Everything tasted really delicious and still had flavor of the individual vegetables. I'm fairly new to paneer but I really enjoyed it prepared this way. It came on a sizzling hot plate with veggies and onions. They were very kind to keep considerate of food allergies and intolerances in our group. Excellent service. I would definitely recommend!!

There is a reason that this place has been a longstanding restaurant on the Danforth. We tried the samosas (pastry seemed a little over fried but the filling was beautiful and delicately spiced, enjoyable - for me - heat level), butter chicken, channa masala, aloo ghobi, rice and naan. All good, the server asked what level of spicy we wanted, I said "medium" since this wqs my first time and was not sure how to calibrate. I now realize Medium" could probably be interpretted different ways, and I found it to be very tasty but also very mild (no heat). When I go back will probably ask for hot. Portions - this was too much food for two people (but I wanted to try all my favorites) basically had more than enough for 4 people

Indian Eats are the best! I found this delicious Indian restaurant Sher-E-Punjab when I was walking on the Danforth in the summer and I had to give them a try! Sher-E-Punjab has been on the Danforth since 1975 and it truly is a neighbourhood favourite. Each dish has lots of rich colours and is filled with lots of fresh tastes. Even when I picked up the food, I could smell each dish through the packaging in the bag! I love food that not only looks good but is also tasting amazing and Sher-E-Punjab was that! I got to try the Veggie samosas, Chicken 65, Sizzling platter - Tandoori chicken, shrimp and kakab, Chicken tikka masala, Lamb Roganjosh, Yellow daal, Matar paneer, Plain and Garlic naan, Vegetable biryani If you're in the East end of the city in the heart of Greektown, this is a great alternative if you're looking for something other than Greek dishes! I highly recommend checking out this amazing restaurant!

Second time at this restaurant and still happy about it. Finally an Indian restaurant where you can ask for meals to be mild. And it is tasty! The waiters are very nice and professional. And the restaurant is comfy, well decorated and AC is not at full blast! Will come back.

Dropped in for some appetizers and ended up also getting dinner. The pakoras are so crisp and flavourful, And the tamarind chutney is unbelievable good! I also really enjoyed the mango shake! On the other hand, the palak paneer was not as flavourful and lacked salt. The garlic naan helped bring some Taste to it which I don't think should be. Anyways will defiantly be back for some Pakoras !

Came here with two friends who are avid Indian food lovers. We each picked a dish and shared - spinach paneer, lamb saag and black lentil daal. We also got chicken biryani as a side, papadum and naan (my friends have no gluten concerns). We started with vegetable pakoras, which were good flavour wise, however, seemed to be more dough than vegetables. The main dishes were all very different. The spinach paneer seem to be very bland, especially in comparison to the lamb saag and daal. We all enjoyed the chicken biryani. My friends said the naan was good and the papadum was good too. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, good dining experience. I'm not sure I'll be racing back though. I think there are equally as good or potentially better Indian restaurant options in the city I need to check out.

The interior is nothing short of opulent: rich earthy tones, elegant dark green accents, and warm ambient lighting conspire to create a dining room that feels both regal and inviting, a space where one might genuinely dine as royalty. The kitchen demonstrates real command of Indian cuisine. Flavours arrive bold, layered, and unapologetically intense -- each dish speaking with the confidence of a well-rehearsed tradition. The breads, in particular, deserve special mention: naan emerges from the tandoor piping hot, beautifully blistered with charred grill marks, and with a texture that is at once pillowy and satisfyingly crisp. One could make a meal of the bread alone and leave content. Where the experience falters slightly is in pacing. A midweek lunch -- the dining room far from full -- still saw dishes arrive at a leisurely tempo more suited to a languid evening affair than a working professional's lunch hour. For a restaurant of this calibre, tightening the rhythm of service during daytime covers would elevate the experience considerably. That said, the wait is not without reward. What emerges from the kitchen is genuinely exceptional -- the sort of cooking that lingers in memory. Urban Maharajas is a destination that honours its namesake: lavish, flavourful, and fit for royalty. One simply hopes the court learns to keep pace with its guests.

Helpful, efficient, very nice! The restaurant itself is a modern space beautifully decorated. We ordered an app, two mains, garlic naan, and some rice. The mains were butter chicken and a goat curry both medium spice level. That worked well for us--medium let you know it was there without blowing out your tastebuds. We both ordered mango lassi, not too sweet, the dairy is a good counterpoint to the spice, the flavor was great. But I'm saving the best for last, the appetizer. The pani poori shots were amazing. Six crispy little puffs filled with chick peas, potato, and tamarind chutney set atop shot glasses containing a spicy "water". We were instructed to pour the contents of the shot glass into each puff and eat the whole thing in one bite. Wow! Incredible flavors and overall eating experience! I only regret not ordering three more plates of these! This was a lovely experience on a frigid cold New Year's night!
