Just stopped by Summer Lagoonfest this past Friday, and our experience was wonderful! Such a cool spot to visit on our way home from Galveston. We felt completely safe with all of their COVID-19 protocol as well. Temperatures taken before entrance, all staff with masks and I noticed cleaning of high-touch surfaces. The chairs/furniture provided were spaced out appropriately as well. Can't say much about the food/bar area as my friend and I only came to enjoy the lagoon for a few hours. This place looks really nice. The grounds, the entrance, the water, the sitting area. I give it a big thumbs up with regards to cosmetics. The staff was friendly when greeting us. They searched our bags for food/snacks. No outside food or beverages are allowed and there is signage posted throughout the facility as well as the webpage that details this along with other items that are prohibited. I went with a group to celebrate my friend's birthday. We were in the VIP area and you have to enter the facility from the opposite end of those who are going to the general area. The check in process went smoothly. You give the attendant your name and your ID is checked to confirm. You'll be given a wristband that includes your name, your party's name and a barcode. This is for purchasing food and drinks. If it has been decided, you can charge these items to your host's card on file or you can upload your own card. Direct cash or credit card actions are not an option. The sitting area we rented was close to the shore and there was enough room between where other seats and guests were. Very nice and the view was perfect. The water is sectioned off with floating and swimming close to the shore and room for paddle boarding, canoeing, and a ferry boat that transports guests from the general area to the VIP. I noticed the general area has a few more food and beverage trucks as the VIP area has a bar and 1 food truck but this was not an issue. Overall, I give the place a 3 out of 5 stars and here's why: PROS: Beach vibes without the huge crowd. Available parking. Clear blue water and clean restrooms. I enjoyed my drink which was called the Miami Vice and the fries from the food truck. Reserved seating was very nice. Lifeguards are present the entire time. CONS: EVERYTHING COSTS! Food. Beverages. Seating. You CANNOT bring in outside food, beverages, or toys. You have to link a debit or credit card to make food and beverage purchases. I DID observe quite a few people with their own inflatable toys, inner tubes, water guns, and drinking containers. NO one made them leave or said anything to them. I will not be visiting this place again. While it wasn't a horrible experience, it wasn't a good one that I think could be better a second time. If you have the money to spend, go for it! read more

If I could give 0 stars or negative I would. I bought tickets a month in advance as I was coming to Houston for my vacation. Unfortunately there was a family emergency and had to take an early flight. I emailed customer service and they reiterated no refunds. I spent around 200 and the only accommodations they could provide is a credit for another date within the year. I live in NJ. I'm not coming back. Please don't buy tickets in advance here. By it the day of. But already disappointed by the customer service and glad I didn't spend anymore money here but will dispute with my bank. Make a long story short, I went to their website, place looked like fun, the pictures are very deceiving ! I purchased everything online in May, park admission for over 20 people, 4 cabanas and activities for everyone to the sum of over $3000., got to the park on Father's Day and it storms, we never got a chance to enter the park.but they still checked us in and gave us these wristbands that were useless because they closed the park due to the rain. They sent me a rain check that is also useless for the people that don't even live in Texas. And after actually seeing this place in person it's not worth the money!! It's a ripoff!! I spoke with the park manager about a refund and they said they would refund only $1,100 of the money back for the activities but I have yet to see that money hit my account! I really tried to give them a chance before I went public but they are ripping people off that they didn't provide services to! Soooo I really thought this place would be more fun and freeing. After four pm the place is only $15 a person to get in and it's supposed to be a 12 acre space. They DO NOT utilize the space at all. Most of it was unused water and the activities were of course expensive to do. The food trucks were a nice spin but overly expensive as well. So were the drinks. $20 for a frozen alcoholic drink? Yeah, no. I don't understand the rule of only having the people who paid money to be in water was only 3.5 feet either? That's the reason why y'all have lifeguards right? So basically the lifeguards aren't needed much if my body is half out the water the whole time. I actually wanted to swim which was sad. Had a great time here with my girlfriend. We rented the lounge chairs with the umbrella. We got what we came here for, some sun and water. And the water was clean, they cleaned it every 2 hours and it takes 15 minutes. They also had a bar and great music. DJ was playing Bad Bunny at one point lol. I went here with my sister for the first time and I can say that it does not disappoint!! The water was beautiful and they have many fun attractions like kayaking, paddle boarding, aqua tracks, an obstacles course, bumper cars and a ton more!! I love that the water was so clear and it made for great photo opportunities!! They also have food trucks with many options! We had the pineapple drink and mango slices! I recommend coming in the morning for a more relaxing experience and in the afternoon for a more exciting experience because that is when they have shows!!! The park is pale in comparison to the website photos. You can't swim in very far, like maybe 20-30 yards. Most of the water is for water sports which were very underutilized while we were there. The park was full of half dressed women posing for pictures with their friends. It was way too sexy for a family place. I was extremely uncomfortable. The food took a long time and wasn't very good. Also there is almost no where to sit in the shade unless you pay for an umbrella or the gazebo things. The floor of the pool is not cement or sand. It is like a huge mat that has large bubbles in many places. It is weird. We won't go back. I only gave it 2 stars because it was a beautiful day. read more

I wouldn't recommend lagoonfest to anyone nor do I plan to return. All reasons below: 1. It's not as big as you think it is, looks a lot bigger online. Was talking to other families who said the same.. 2. They say white sand beaches, it's not. Regular brown sand, but the pool is outline with like white porcelain/concrete to make it look like it's sand on the pictures. 3. You have to buy seating. 2 chairs without an umbrella $34. And thats just I can have somewhere to leave my bags so I'm not worrying about leaving it somewhere it can be taken. 4. There's so many unnecessary rules they only make SOME people follow. We had staff admit the front tend to discriminate to certain crowds and I can definitely see that. They say no speakers, floats and pool noodles...yet we saw other families with them, we asked them where they got them from and they said they brought them in. Did anyone tell them anything about it? Nope. 5. The speaker thing, they said you can't have them because they have a dj. Which is fine, I understand, BUT you got 3 different djs playing 3 different types of music, and it's all so loud that it's all meshed into one so you can't even focus on one song. 6. ITS NOT LIKE OTHER WATERPARKS you can't take ANY outside food, water, snacks or anything. The only option on food are basic burgers, hot dogs and fries that are extremely overpriced concession food. 3 waters and 2 drinks and there went an easy $50. And that's to not die of dehydration... 7. Don't even think about buying VIP tickets for a more "serene" setting. You imagine, all adults and no kids right? WRONG. You're basically paying extra to be in a secluded area but still kiddos screaming and running around. So if you're thinking about it for a date? DONT. 8. Your bags even need to be under a certain size...by the end of it I thought it was going to tell me what color my swim suit needed to be! I do not plan to return, and after speaking with some families around us, I don't think they are either. I was not sure what to expect when booking tickets. But all I can say is this place is a complete money grab! 1. We paid over $60 a person just for admission and a beach chair for the day. You have to pay for a chair as NONE are available for free. 2. The online photos are a complete scam. While the pool is nice, it's basically one big community pool. Half of it is roped off for "activities". One side of the pool is a huge fence. The other side is the parking lots. No view at all. 3. You can not bring in any food or beverages. However when we went to order food, they stopped taking any orders due to being understaffed. 4. All alcoholic drinks are $13-15 each. While online photos show bars throughout, none were open. There was one main bar open and wait times were 40 minutes plus. 5. We prepaid $25 each for a thirty minute admission to the obstacle course. When we got there, it was much smaller than pictures. We decided to not go on the course as it seems inappropriate for adults unlike how it was advertised online. 6. I would not recommend coming without children. We came as a small group of young adults. And felt awkward and out of place. 7. All in all, if admission included a chair and activities it would be worthwhile. But don't expect anything more than a big pool in the middle of a subdivision. We all left feeling catfished. I went here for the first time on 7/25. Upon arrival no one was helpful with giving directions for what to do when we got to the front, much less welcoming. When we got there we paid for the private beach vip pass, they had us wait in another LONGER line for vip wrist bands where no one acknowledged us standing there for the first 5 minutes. Then when we come in we asked how to get the the private beach and everyone just told us to walk around and find the ferry. When we found the ferry the boat drivers were unwelcoming and even did Rock Paper Scissors in front of us to see who would drive us on the ferry. When we got to the private beach no one was there to direct us to where we would be sitting, as we pre purchased two lounge chairs and an umbrella so we grabbed our own. We waited for 45 minutes to see any waitstaff for a drink. We went through two waiters to finally order a frozen drink. After waiting 30 minutes with no return of a waiter we moved to a closer spot to try to get service. Only for the manager and another server to tell me our waiter never put the order in, even though he charged my wrist band for two $23 frozen drinks. The manager Eric then told me "there is no vip area or service here" when I asked him where the vip bar was. Eric, to no surprise, never came back with drinks. The next waiter came to charge us yet again for the original order from over almost an hour at this point. 10 minutes later he comes back to tell us that the frozen machine is down and we can pick a regular drink for the same price at $23! I requested a refund and he wouldn't give me a receipt for the transaction when I requested it, instead giving me "his word" that the charge would be refunded in 3-5 business days. When I went to get my sprite at the bar finally, all the waiters including both that weren't attentive before and the manager Eric were standing there eating and drinking ice cold beverages while we were over heating in 102 degree weather for over an hour with nothing to drink and no one making drinks. Save your money and time and go to a resort for this price of over $250 for two people to get no service and crap attitudes. read more

I visited Lagoonfest this past Saturday with my BF. We purchased the chairs with umbrellas to do something different and try a new place. Overall the experience wasn't TERRIBLE but I probably will not visit again. We got there around 2 pm and someone had taken our chairs , not sure whether it was by accident but when we informed one of the workers they handled it and made them leave, so no issues or concerns. The drinks were EXPENSIVE and lines were long. I think they should at least allow water even if they have to implement a gallon of water per party or something Bc it is too hot not to have water. The lagoon itself is just a oversized pool, nothing special about it. The music played was pretty good. So in conclusion, as stated above the experience wasn't terrible but I rather soak up sun at Sylvan or Galveston beach where I can bring coolers with drinks and chairs. If you have kids you might want to bring them to get out house this summer , but expect to dish out quite a bit of money. It's a new concept and I think it needs some work and to be more lenient with their outside drink policy. read more

It wasn't downright horrible but it wasn't great and definitely not worth the money. First things to note is that you have to pay to get in (I paid $25 for half day), pay to sit in a lounge chair ($34 for 2 chairs), and you can't bring outside food or drink (not even water). You can't bring your own chairs or umbrellas. I reserved my groups lounge chairs and there was an issue with that. Apparently there isn't anyone making sure people don't just grab empty lounge chairs that are reserved. We had a whole big ordeal with people being in the seats we paid for and it was a big mess. I will say it was resolved nicely by the supervisor but it was unecessary added stress. The website is very misleading about how nice the place looks. It's basically a big community pool with some sand dumped on the edges to give it a beach feel. It was overcrowded, dirty, and the restrooms we're kinda gross because alot of the toilets weren't working properly. The website mentions they have a full menu which is also misleading. When I hear "full menu" I assume they mean there is food for everyone or at least a salad for people who don't want or can't eat burgers, pizza, and nachos. It's basically concession stand food and a few food trucks. For someone with food sensitivities or a special diet like gluten free, vegetarian, etc there wasn't many food options. There was one food stand I thought I could eat at but they stopped serving food at 5 even tho the place didn't close untill 7. There ended up not being any real food for me to eat and I had to hope some gelato ice would hold me untill I left. Overall not worth it for the money. Going to a regular beach or a water park probably would have been more fun. read more

This place has amazing potential. My family actually enjoyed our time here. But it ended on a very bad note. It was my daughter's 5th birthday and as we were leaving I realized I threw my phone in the sand under the swing to get in the water one last time with her. Once we finished packing up things from our cabana I remembered that I left my phone, only to find the case that my phone was in. I asked some employees if anyone had seen my phone and they all said "no". Once I made it home I was able to track the location of my phone to an address in Pearland,TX. After reaching out to the police I was finally able to retrieve my STOLEN phone from one of their employees. I'm assuming he had every intention on selling it because it was completely wiped clean. I lost every picture of my family. I literally had to start from scratch. Not to mention I spent approx. $500 only to be robbed in the end. read more

We paid $53 a person for VP pass and additional for a pavilion and when we asked for the complimentary bucket of ice and water the person In Our group was told you don't get those privileges you're not VP. We were. It was a misunderstanding but it's not what you say it's how you say it. 2. When ordered food we asked do we need to wait or will they bring the food to our pavilion? They said they would bring it. When I finally went to get the food the because it was taking so long the person who seemed to be the manager (tall older white guy in a blue shirt ) stated how are we suppose to know where to bring it? When we tried to explain the woman told us she would bring it he said you aren't even VP so how are we suppose to know. Again we are VP. Why food was ice cold. 3. We were in the water when they blew their whistles and told us pool was closed (And mind you they gave no 30 minute warning or anything and it's a pool so of course we don't have a clock to know what time it was ) but we are a party of 12 so it took a minute to say goodbye and gather our things. The woman who was cleaning up came over and said "party is over y'all need to get out so I can clean". SHE SAID IT 3 TIMES! We said yes ma'am we are. She continued to stand there and stare at us and make huffing noises and ROLLED HER EYES AT US! The "manager" comes over again and stands over us. I said, "sir we are getting our things together can you give us just a second". He looks at me and says, "well we are closed so y'all need to go. It had a lot of potential to be fun but you can't really swim because it's so shallow. There is not tons of space between shore and the ropes marking where you weren't allowed to go past. I'd say there was 5-6 feet between the sand and the ropes where we sat. It'd be great if you have toddlers because it really is just a baby pool. Food was terrible too. Chicken tenders were served still cold and gooey. They had a band so that had potential to be fun but they sound checked for 2.5 hours and never played before the rain started. Definitely not planning to go back. If you have kids, there's a lot to do for them. This just isn't an adults only attraction. read more

Money money money. If you're looking to spend 400$ or more for a fun day for you family then this is your place. You are not allowed to bring any umbrellas, tents, chairs nothing for shade. You can rent a cabana with 3 chairs for 150$ to 180$ or 2 chairs or an umbrella for a hefty price also. You're not allowed to bring a cooler with food or drinks in, so your best bet is spending 20$ per meal. They also don't allow you to go to the parking lot and come back into the resort. So we couldn't even go to our car and eat lunch and then go back in. Every single activity cost money. They also don't allow you to bring in large pool floats or tubes. The live guards are constantly blowing their whistle for nothing. It was not a good experience. read more

Only 1 star because I have to write this review. Came on 8/26/21 to celebrate my birthday. Park opening hours are 10am, yet at 10:25am I got text saying they won't open on time due to acclimated weather. There was no rain that day. Then we learn they have no WiFi . According to office people , builder cut the internet line, this was not due to storm. We get notified at 3pm that park won't open. I was told my only option is voucher , she mentioned there is no expiration date. I reached out to Lagoon people asking for refund . I traveled from Dallas, both me and my friend are in medical field which makes hard to take time off from work for another trip. We also had travel expenses, hotel expenses, I had to pay pet sitter to watch my animals. I was told no to refund. I asked that maybe they can upgrade some things since I have to make time to come again. They said no and then they tell me my voucher expire on September 26th 2021... like in little more then 2 weeks. I feel very disrespected, I've spend $450 for park and they simply don't care. Not yo mention , my daughter was diagnosed with ASD over the Labor Day weekend. We are awaiting the date for her heart surgery and she is on stricked no physical activity orders by ER doctor . And even after the surgery she will need time to recover . I'm very disappointed with how this business is run.
