He initially quoted a very fair price for a like-for-like pump replacement -- much lower than the $12K quote I got elsewhere. I ended up upgrading to a 1.5 HP pump, which raised the cost a bit, but the installation was done well and everything worked great. Craig and his team did a solid job draining and cleaning the pool, and I appreciated the bundled pricing offer to keep costs manageable. Where things fell a bit short was in communication. The monthly pool cleaning service was quoted at $170, which felt a bit high, and when I asked about flexibility, communication started to taper off. I also didn't receive a walkthrough on how to use the new pump -- just the manual. Overall, Craig really knows pools and gets the job done efficiently. If the communication and follow-through had been a little stronger, this would've easily been a 5-star experience.

I Contacted Steve regarding a pump motor install for my hot tub on Monday September 28. I've…read moreactually had a few conversations with him, not just for this job but another bad pump motor last year. He was always pleasant and seemed like nice person. When I spoke to him this past Monday, he asked for information regarding the type of pump so he could properly quote installation of the new motor. By 11am, I had taken screen shots of the parts I'd ordered for the job and even followed up with the company who sold me the pump to get Steve accurate information so he knew what the install would require. When I initially spoke with him on the phone, I got the impression he really didn't want the job but I thought he planned on getting back with me pretty quickly. By 2pm Tuesday, I still had not gotten a return phone call. So, I called him and the phone just rang. I sent him a text message late Tuesday afternoon that said "Thanks" thinking that I ended the previous text with the pump information and hadn't said anything else which seemed kinda rude. Wednesday I called again and nothing. Friday morning I sent him another text saying "thanks for getting back to me." Steve then responds, saying that he had every intention of getting back to me, until I sent the last text message where I said "thanks." I'm completely taken aback by this arrogance and thin skinned behavior. This company has so much business and is such high esteem that they can treat customers like they don't matter? If he didn't want to do the job all he had to do was say so. This is the typical attitude and treatment I have seen over the past several years by large companies and now its filtered down to the mom and pop businesses. Which I find absolutely fascinating since building a business takes time and word of mouth is everything. Or at least it used to be. If you are reading this review, I would strongly advise you use another repair service because the boys over at I.E Pool Masters obviously have way to much work and don't really need you as a customer. The bottom line is they, or at least Steve looks at the customer as an insignificant pain in his ass. And if he perceives something you say as a slam toward his service, he just simply won't return your calls, text and has no problem leaving you the customer, hanging! Much better spa repair services out there. I'm now glad I didn't have him do any work because I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been done correctly and I don't trust any company who treats a customer with such disregard. Sal came out, gave me an estimate for my California pool and proceeded to do an amazing job, the tile and the pebble tech. Sal explained the whole process of pebble tech because we had plaster before. The crew came out and did an amazing job. They also cleaned up every single day. Everyone acted professional. I would highly recommend this company. I had so much confidence and trust in Sal, that one I bought a house in AZ, I asked Sal if he knew anyone in AZ that could help me with the DIY pool I was building. Sal advised me Sunsational Pools was slow and his crew would come out and do the electrical gas and plumbing. He also installed the new equipment for the pool. I have to tell you, these guys worked their ass off. This company is a very reliable and trustworthy. We had an AZ Inspector come out and give us a thumbs up on how everything was installed, the next day he called and said the electrical line had to be changed in a certain area. Let me touch on some of the key factors that made it so our choice to go with Sunsational Pools and Spas would be our choice over and over again, given the opportunity. We had a design in mind when we requested a quote. Sal came over to the house, ON TIME and as promised (which I cannot say for other companies we had requested quotes from). As we were discussing our needs and wants (because these two things can be very different when working within a budget), he took great notes and let us know that he would do his very best to accommodate all of our wants, while staying within budget. Sal was able to get us our quote back within the timeframe promised (also, something surprisingly hard for other companies). The quote we received was within our budget and not only included all our "needs", but also included our "wants"! Now to talk a little about the timeframes. The timeframes not only did not disappoint, they moved a lot faster than we had ever expected. From contract signing, to permits obtained, to construction start, to project completion. For the size of our project, we had anticipated 6+ months. Our whole process took no longer than 4 months. If there was any kind of delay, Sal let us know right away and explained the reason. To say Sal and his team are knowledgeable and efficient at everything they do, would be an understatement. Next I'd like to bring up the communication. Not once did we ever have a hard time getting a hold of Sal with any questions or thoughts we had along the whole process! He and his crew were all so helpful throughout the project, they even suggested design changes that TO THIS DAY I look at and am blown away at the thought we had requested it be done differently. The design is so much better due to the knowledge and experience his whole team possessed. It truly was a pleasure working with Sunsational Pools and Spas. Well we went on vacation and left instructions with my father in law to add chemicals while we were gone. Unfortunately he completely forgot about it for 2 weeks in the middle of summer, and we came back to a swamp! Thank god I discovered Yelp and found Matt! Several of the pool guys we called had suggested draining our pool and acid washing it. Matt pointed out that not only would that not work with our pool,(It is a fiberglass pool) but that it was going to end up costing almost double what it would cost to do it with their process! They warned us that it might take a couple weeks to straighten out our pool that was a swamp, and I don't know how they did it, but it cleaned up to perfect in less than 3 days.
