We've been going for over a year now and became members this year. We camp on the far side of the lake (once you get there, you'll see the difference), it less crowded and quiet. It has a couple of walking trails as well as the regular Naturist resort type of things, swimming pools, archery, volleyball courts, tennis and pickled cucumber ball. We go there to unwind after a hard week and also to have a really good time at the night club on Friday and Saturdays nights. Staff has always been great to work with. There is camping, rv-ing, motel-ing, and plain old sleeping on the ground-ing. Don't worry about what you look like without your clothes on, just come out and have a good time. read more

My soon to be husband and I just became gold members at Laguna Del Sol and we are very happy we did! As new members to the nudist community we felt very welcome here. On our occasional afternoon visits we meet new people from all over the country which is always great. Nobody is rude and everyone is just doing their own thing so you won't feel pressured to talk to others. This place is great for long walks because the scenery is very peaceful. They have camping options which is great because you can just pitch your tent anywhere and you are good to go explore. The pools are clean and they have a lot of stuff to do such as tennis, pool volley ball and much more! We stopped by Laguna del Sol on a drive through California, as I wanted to see if the resort is as good as the reviews it gets, The answer is an unequivocal yes. This clothing-optional resort is everything I would want. We stayed in the 'luxury rooms' which were equal in quality to a good hotel, and with a great view out over the lake, We enjoyed swimming in the pools, we used the fitness center, we ate some good meals in the restaurant, and we most of all enjoyed talking to the other guests. The friendly atmosphere is just amazing. Meanwhile I worked on my suntan to eliminate any white patches, We encountered all ages of people at the resort, from young children all the way through to people in their 80's. Everyone who isn't scared of seeing a little nudity should come and try this place out. It's an experience not to be missed. read more

The Laguna Del Sol Resort is a beautiful place to hang out. The stadium seating around the main pool is spectacular and there are a lot of activities. The only problem I have with the place is the Manager, Steve. For a resort manager, I have to ask where did they get this guy? He is rude, treats guests like they don't matter, and has a motley assortment of " friends" that he provides special privileges and favors to. The camping and RV spaces are really top of the line as is the man-made lake. The grounds are well kept and lush. Overt sexual activity is discouraged, that is why no single men are allowed to be members. Laguna Del Sol is billed as a clothing optional FAMILY Resort. Kids have a great time in the pools and the sunshine. I usually have a wonderful time when I'm there. If you like crowds and lots of 70ties style bands try Nude Fest, an annual event, which draws visitors from around the globe. It's pretty crowed but lots of fun and plenty of vendors. On most Saturday nights there is a dance sometimes with a live band but usually a good DJ bring your sexy lingerie. If you steer clear of Steve you will probably love the place, but cross that guy and watch how you are treated. read more

The wife and I have been long time beach nudest, first time resort nudest.Loved it.Nice rooms,good food ,clean,and lots to do.They have rules,but there for a reason.And they are being inforced.Lol.Nice people,an older crowd for sure.Pools are a good place to hang out and relax.The ten minute hike to the river is a must do, beautiful.Difinetly do the dance Friday and Saturday,lots of fun!We highly recommend the experience, you won't be disappointed.We look forward to coming back. read more

I'm a regular poster here, and have been to Laguna Del Sol. I'm using an alias since some of my coworkers know about this site and have visited it before. They don't need to know everything about me, nor do they need to start thinking that I'm some sort of pervert because I like to run around naked in the sun. The resort is well maintained, reasonably priced, and extensive. There's two outdoor pools, one indoor pool several jacuzzis, a restarurant and snack shack, and the various other amenities that Mike W. has mentioned. My only complaint is that on the less crowded weekends, but not the dead weekends, the place has a slight 'swinger' vibe to it. No one has ever made me uncomfortable or ever suggested it to me. However, it seemed like a disproportionate amount were swingers. On the slow weekdays and more busy weekends, the people there are from every walk of life (except they're older as they're the only ones with the self-esteem and the guts to drop pretenses as well as their clothes). The 'swinger' vibe gets mixed into the regular crowd and becomes non-existant. I say go. Nothing will happen to you, and you only live once. read more

Laguna del Sol is a great place to unwind and relax. It is not a 5 star resort but we have really enjoyed staying there several times. The staff is friendly and helpful and we always meet nice people there. We like to be active and Laguna provides so many options. Tennis and Pickleball are great there. The pools are fantastic. This is a great place for a couple to get away for a fun weekend. If you have never tried going to a clothing optional resort, this is a great place to start. There is every kind of body there so no need to feel self conscious about being naked. Just relax and have fun. We usually stay in a luxury hotel room but we have tent camped also. Again, there is nothing about the place that is really fancy. It is clean and well care for. There is no better place for the money. read more

Yeah, Talk about Big Brother Watching. I was a member of LDS with my soon to be Ex husband, all was well inParadise for about 5 years while we were GOLD members. It all went bad when I told the office that I was getting divorced and now have a new Significant Other. I asked that I and my new S.O. be put on an account together, and My Ex wanted to be on an account by himself. Nick said no problem, but why dont you wait until our membership is ready to renew. So I waited about 4 months, automatic withdrawls coming out of my Ex's checking and then I would pay him back, what a hassle, but we went along. Well, when it was time, they said NO, we won't put you on an acct with someone else since you are still married to A. O-K, but the money is coming out of a joint checking with me and B. No sorry, separate accounts. Now in the meantime, B and I had bought a trailer, and were paying monthly storage at LDS, he had become a Gold member, from my referral, the staff there knew us to be a couple, there was no cheating going on or anything like that, which isnt their business anyway . My Ex and I had a very amicable parting of the ways, and we never had any DRAMA there. So I tried to take it up with Nick and Stephanie in the office and after many calls and in person discussions it came down to be AMBERS decision. So AMBER decided, that 1. I am to purchase a Single membership. 2. I am now to pay an initiation fee because, my membership has Expired. WOW, okay, so I had spoke to A my Ex. he was able to change the account over to Single with no Initiation fee just one week before this. I was NOT happy. I wrote letter explaining my complaint attention to SUZANNE that owns the place, the only thing that came of it was a call from STEVE THE MANAGER, to my Significant Other, that last weekend I was to be charged the daily rate since My membership expired. Needless to say, we pulled out trailer out, B cancelled his membership and we moved on, to newer, less judgmental pastures. We have heard stories like this from other people at other Resorts and its so sad. That the Owner lets a couple people ruin a good experience, which could have been really good. THey need to replace some of their management staff and it will be fine. If they are worried about their status with AANR then maybe they should start peeking in all the SWINGERS trailers, there are groups and groups of them hooking up,Oh yes, and yet, me and my S.O. just want to have a little R&R and not bother anyone. If you go to LDS, just make sure you cover your ASSets cuz they are all about $$$$, BIG $$$$$, they cater to the huge mansions on wheels with their Geriatric Perverts stumbling around!!! This place is great. Totally clean and very well taken care of. Plenty of space and areas to relax and enjoy yourself. I disagree about the people being snobbish, I think there is a difference between a community and someone showing up for an over-nighter to check the place out. I've been several times and I see where someone could feel a bit left out, but I've also started conversations with tons of great people and had nothing but pleasant experiences. If the people were a problem I never would have returned. It is always a great trip, just remember sunscreen! read more

Who runs this place boy do they need help. The owners must not even care, if they only saw how their so called staff acts. Lets start with the unfriendly receptionist. I forgot to get her name and she was there when we checked out, she had short brown hair never smiled and like had I don't care attitude. When my wife and I checked out we got Nick and he was professional and with a smile. We might come back because of him. But our stay there was gross. My wife and are re in the hospitality industrially and what we saw make us sick and we got sick of off of the well drinks from the bar I believe the hoses must have mold in them. We both got the runs the next day but was worse is how we saw the bartender give away so many drinks \on the house and she was chucking them down herself. That is a law suit waiting to happen. Then there was the so called bar manager he was grumpy he was rude to people yelling at some customers he is far from professional and then we saw the unthinkable he had his hand up some girls skirt. That did it for us. When we were getting ready to leave we saw two more couples doing things I can't print here is made us sick it is defiantly a swinger place and the bar manager saw it and didn't do a thing it seems they were his friends. Sunday when we were checking out we asked to speak to a manager but seems he had taken the weekend off. I didn't know managers got weekends off. That is their busy time. We stayed in the motel rooms they needed a good cleaning the rooms smelled moldy. Hard to tell who does what around there no uniforms or name tags. This is not a resort so to speak. Every department was relaxed like they were the ones enjoying the resort, If you can call it that. relaxed. I can beat there isn't one check list any where on that property. Oh did I mention all the spider webs in the bar and the sticky tables. we got a napkin to clean our table off, it was gross. Then we ate at the restaurant. Slow serve cold food, hardly any meat on our sandwich and oh they screwed up the order the first time we got someone else order. The waitress was nice and tried to correct. When we asked to talk to the manager seems he was busy talking to another guest and when he finished talking to them he left. We never got to talk to him. Customer service is the worse. Food is not far behind we will never eat there again. Now the grounds best thing LdS has going for it. We enjoyed our walk around the lake. Lots of pot holes so don't do a run around the lake you may stain an ankle. The lake is beautiful. Oh and then there are the pools; drunk and rowdy people there, you are again aloud to do sexual things at the pool and I was surprised kids were present. I would not want my kids around the filth I saw there nobody from the office or restaurant ever are around. You would think they would have pool side service it is suppose to be a resort. Here is what we over heard. And may have to try. We feel if the owners don't care why should we. Several people who We know must have had way to much to drink were bragging about how they get into the resort for free. It is all on who you know. This is how it works. Your friend comes in and joins then they in return give you the number to get in the gate you can spend the whole weekend there with out paying. These couple had been doing for more than 2 years. Wow that just tells you how much management pays attention. If it was our place we'd have a full time gate keeper, on duty all the time. I am surprise the residents haven't requested it. We did meet a few people that were telling us some of their experience and they didn't have nice things to say either. At this point if they change their management team we will go back till then not worth the money. So many nicer places to go. You don't have to be naked to have a great time. Boy the owners should call Bar rescue and Hotel impossible in. They would be in for a rude awaking and they would see their bottom dollar go up. But they must not need the money. read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We go as often as our schedules permit. We knew no one; and we were quickly welcomed by all. You can lounge in the sun; or be as active as you desire. Laguna del Sol is a clothing optional resort near Sacramento California. I have been going there for nearly 30 years -- and up until recently, never had any problems. The resort has several small lakes and is near the Consummes River. It is a beautiful place with many nice amenities that one would expect - including: hotel rooms, bars, dance floor, a restaurant, RV spaces, camping areas, a gym, sports courts and several pools/spas. The staff is very friendly and hard-working to make things nice for the guests. Some of the staff are absolutely AWESOME (Fran, Jay, Mary, Zach and others). The current general manager, James, is very nice. You will meet many great people there -- really good folks that make for strong friendships. There is one huge problem though. There's a long-term resident named Gail, who has become the pool police -- she is now on staff at this resort. I agree that having rules and enforcing them keeps a place nice. But many people get scolded and lectured by her for minor perceived infractions such as: not leaving your lounge chair perfectly lined up with the other chairs, leaving a floaty at the pool's edge (even if it's just for a few minutes to leave and use the restroom), being "too close" to other people in the pool (even just to chat and hear each other) and a hug may get you thrown out of the resort -- which nearly happened yesterday, when a married couple, new to the resort, greeted each other. Gail is not very nice when she confronts you. She will yell at you in front of everyone and drop oblique insults like slob, selfish, dumb and inappropriate. She will perceive something that is innocent as not. Gail confronted me (in her usual very hostile and public way) and reported me to the general manager, who also confronted me, for being too close to a new guest in the pool (even though we were just having a nice conversation -- this guest had no complaints against me and wanted to continue talking). What did Gail mean by "being too close"? What was she implying? This guy was already in trouble with her for dancing in the pool (by himself) and wearing sun tan lotion in the water. James was very nice to me and was willing to hear me out. Gail's hostile confrontation makes for a very stressful and intimidating experience -- plus, being falsely accused of things, or innuendo, in front of everyone and having to explain yourself to the general manager makes visiting this place off my list now. I cancelled my Laguna del Sol membership. I realize that I am the paying customer and there are other resorts one can visit, where customer service and a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere exists. Because Gail's bad out weighs the good of this resort by such a huge amount, I have to rate this place one-star. read more

Reviewed Laguna Del Sol awhile back, and now that we've been members for three years we have to say: it's better than ever. The restaurant has improved immensely with Fran in charge, and I doubt there is any nudist venue - or any campground - that offers a better dining experience. The main pool has been improved too, now a uniform depth so that everyone isn't crowded into the shallow part, and big umbrella fixtures all around the edge. The new manager, James, is a firm but fair guy and does a great job of running a place that's so many things at once - resort, hotel, campground, water park, sports complex, nightclub, restaurant, lake, small town AND a nudist place. The office staff is outstandingly helpful. LdS is a beautiful and amazing place. You can make it the experience you want - retreat to the lake shore for peace and quiet, hang out at the pool for cool drinks and socializing with friendly people, go to the club for music and dancing. Of course, at the heart of every experience is the person having it, and one- and two-star reviews often come from one- and two-star people. Like any place, LdS has policies, procedures, and rules, maybe a few more because it is a nudist resort. Paying $30 doesn't exempt you from abiding by these. Calling ahead and making arrangements is common sense. And most of us would pay twice as much to enjoy LdS, so no, I don't think the owners are all about the money. For what we do pay, it is paradise at an exceptional value. read more
