During the procedure, the vibration from the drill became too overwhelming, and I stopped him -- not once, not twice, but eight times. Every single time, without a hint of frustration, he stopped, checked in with me, and waited until I was ready to continue at my own pace. His patience and compassion were extraordinary. By the eighth stop, rather than pushing through, he came up with a thoughtful plan: he rescheduled my appointment, prescribed Valium to help me relax the night before and the morning of the procedure, and suggested I swap my regular AirPods for noise-canceling headphones to block out the sounds that were triggering my anxiety. The difference was night and day. When I came back, we got through the entire procedure smoothly and comfortably. I left that chair feeling proud of myself -- and that's entirely because of the care and creativity Dr. Mostofi brought to my situation. The office staff deserves just as much praise.
