The treatment was a success and made an everyday collapse to a 5 month small 3 second episode. Not only do they prepare you by sending you a pamphlet to Reed about what to expect and also how they prepare their facility to welcome your Pet. It's very intentional and thought out. When I arrived, it was exactly as I had read... A light scent of lavender, calming colors, a beautiful fish tank and two welcoming, smiles by the ladies behind the desk. I immediately felt at ease. My dog has been having a lot of anxiety due to the fact that he's been at a lot of veterinarians in the last couple of years and had had surgeries. They immediately brought us into a dog room that was set up with a little rug, a medium sized dog bed and a water bowl that was lifted off the ground with water in it. Clean and with the pheromones plugged in to help calm him. I've never seen him get so comfortable so quickly. I put him down on the rug and he jumped on the bed and I sat on the ground next to him and within minutes, one of the ladies from the front desk came in and said the doctor would be in shortly. That is exactly what happened. Rather than having a Tall desk, I was on the ground, and when they came in, they sat on the ground with us. It was so sweet and kind. My dog felt so comfortable. He went to both of them for Love and Peets. It made my heart happy to know that he felt comfortable. They took him back and did what they needed to do. They offered for me to come with them, which I think helped him very much so that he could see me in front of him as they did the job that they needed to do. They offered him a pup cup so that while they were doing their thing, he was distracted by the pup cup and could look at me. They were gentle and kind, and we got the job done as a team. That felt very good. We then went back into the room, he immediately went back onto the bed and felt comfortable again. Again, he's been very stressed out lately at the vet, and this was such a relief. Then when the specialist came in, she didn't just explain the situation with his heart, she brought in a little whiteboard and drew it out for me. I'm a visual person so I really enjoyed that. She not only gave me the diagnosis which was very positive but also offered up something else she thought could be affecting him and we talk through a possible solution. That was very helpful because she wasn't just focused on the One issue, she thought beyond that and offered me an option. I highly recommend Apex. This place is top-notch and although most places break the bank around the Bay Area, they are not cheap, but they did not break my entire bank. They also didn't charge for things unnecessarily like some places. Very straightforward and easy. Check out was a breeze and he left Happy. What a wonderful experience and I can't recommend them more. The two ladies at the front desk, you guys were so welcoming and kind. Thank you for that. Then Dr. Chloe. We weren't sure we were making the right decision, and she answered all our questions with kindness and reassurance during a really uncertain time. When Dr. Jenn Winnick arrived, her compassion was immediately evident. She took the time to explain everything and assured us we were doing the right thing for Simba. She treated Simba with such gentle care and created a calm, loving atmosphere for her final moments. Her kindness turned an unbearably sad day into one filled with peace and dignity for our sweet girl. From the initial phone conversations, I was given the impression that this clinic was welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of my eight-month-old German Shepherd. However, once I arrived in person, the tone and treatment shifted dramatically. What was presented as straightforward care quickly became layered with unexpected and costly add-on fees that were never clearly disclosed beforehand. The experience felt structured to create trust upfront, only for essential information and services to be reframed later in a way that prioritized billing over transparency. The conduct of management--specifically Joe (manager) and Jenn (assistant manager)--was particularly concerning. Both displayed a dismissive and condescending attitude, speaking down to clients rather than communicating with professionalism or empathy. On one occasion, I personally witnessed front desk staff being reprimanded and spoken to harshly in front of me, which was uncomfortable and inappropriate in a client-facing environment. Most alarming was the refusal of assistance while I was present with my dog and seeking help, allegedly due to staffing limitations. A wellness clinic should not invite clients in under assurances of care only to later deny support because of inadequate veterinary coverage. In contrast, the front desk employees, MIA, Ava and Ashley were consistently kind and professional, despite being placed in difficult and clearly demoralizing situations. Trust is everything when it comes to veterinary care. Unfortunately, this clinic's leadership demonstrated poor communication, questionable transparency, and a troubling focus on revenue rather than patient well-being. I strongly encourage pet owners to ask very detailed questions and consider alternative clinics before committing to care here. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Whole Pet Vet and feel it is important to share my concerns to warn other pet owners. Wait....Having said that.... It gets worse..... My eight-month-old German Shepherd was seen at this clinic, and throughout the process I experienced a troubling lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism. I repeatedly attempted to contact the clinic for updates and clarification regarding my dog's care and diagnosis, often calling more than ten times before receiving any response. Even then, many of my requests went unanswered. A diagnosis of possible elbow dysplasia was delivered without adequate explanation, guidance, or timely follow-up, leaving me anxious and confused about my young dog's health. The lack of communication during such a serious situation felt negligent and deeply distressing. Additionally, I was initially led to believe that I would be shown how to administer Adequan injections to my dog during a visit. This was presented as a straightforward and supportive process. However, once in the room, I was informed by the assistant manager, Jenn, that she would refuse to demonstrate how to give a simple subcutaneous injection unless I paid an additional $49 fee. This was never clearly communicated beforehand and felt opportunistic, especially given the emotional state of a concerned pet owner. It was difficult not to feel that financial gain was prioritized over patient care. The veterinarians and management, including Joe and Jenn, did not demonstrate compassion, accountability, or integrity in my experience. I do want to note that the front desk staff--specifically Mia, Ashley, and Ava--were consistently kind, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the actions and decisions of the clinic's leadership and medical staff. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic. My dog came in for a ruptured anal gland and after speaking to them over the phone, I felt very trusting of this business because of their price transparency. On top of that, my dog's injury healed wonderfully. I felt that I was asking too many questions but the vets were always very patient with me and answered all of my concerns, which eased my anxiety. I also brought my chinchilla for his skin irritation and went home with lots of good tips from the vet who had chinchillas that lived to be 20 years old! I felt very reassured knowing that the help I was receiving was from personal and professional experience. Additionally, they emailed me articles about chinchilla heart murmur, which I am beyond grateful to read up on. Overall, my pets are still in great health after their vet visit and I am very thankful to have found a vet practice I am happy to bring my pets back to.

The "new" owner has stepped up the standard of care by installing updated state-of-the-art equipment and by extending the available services such as doing lab work on-site rather than having to send it out and wait and having immediate access to ultrasound services when needed rather than delaying until an outside consultant could come in. Conclusion is that the Cat Hospital is the best place to seek treatment for your beloved cats. I highly recommend taking your cats there for personalized quality care.
