Our first visit with our two small dogs was outstanding! The appointment started right on time, and the intake process was smooth and thorough. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We really appreciated that all of our feeling options were discussed slowly and thoughtfully, with absolutely no high-pressure sales--just honest care. Dr. Natt was wonderful; he took his time examining each dog, listening carefully, and considering all of our concerns. Very disappointing experience. Over prescription and over charged. I'm submitting feedback to California Veterinary Medical Board. I was given medications and charged unrelated to actual treatment. Walgreens refused to fulfill the prescription as it was printed and not even signed. I wasted hours driving to even find one pharmacy over weekend to give me ointment. I have not seen any vet clinic this incompetent. Everything felt rushed, and I wasn't given a chance to fully understand or consent meds given. Communication and transparency need serious improvement. Would not recommend. They are there to bag the money doesn't seem to care about pets. read more

I am a veterinarian and routinely perform surgeries myself; however, for my own dog, I did not want to perform the procedure personally. I am extremely selective about whom I trust, and I wanted her spay and gastropexy done by someone whose surgical skill and judgment I trust completely. Dr. Natt performed a laparoscopic spay with laparoscopic-assisted gastropexy, which is significantly less invasive than traditional open surgery. The procedure went smoothly, and my dog recovered remarkably quickly with minimal discomfort. Her healing and overall outcome were excellent. This vet is a crook who orders fraudulent testing panels, unnecessary x-ray views and virtual overseas radiology consults (for fabricated heart murmurs). $2000 for labs and x-rays to tell me my cat is healthy. Cat had a blade of grass in his nose. Vet missed it during exam. Cat sneezed & I pulled it out. All better. They don't check microchips. I was raised in 4-H, so I'm not illiterate with animals. The receptionist was unkind and shouted at me in front of everyone. I had brought my antibiotic with me because I was having trouble transferring the medicine into the syringe. Instead of applying pressure to insert the syringe into the small opening of the container, I was trying to suction the medicine into the syringe. I called the clinic to ask for assistance, and they requested that I come back so they could demonstrate the process. When I returned to the vet, the receptionist scolded me in a harsh tone, saying, "You're supposed to push it." I attempted to show her how I was doing it, but the syringe slipped from my grip and fell to the floor. I picked it up and explained that it could no longer be used. She then took it from me and forcefully inserted it into the bottle. I informed her that she had contaminated the medicine because it had fallen on the floor. She claimed she hadn't seen it happen, which wasn't true since she had witnessed the drop. She then started shouting at me, insisting that I would have to buy another antibiotic. I explained that it wasn't just about the cost; I was concerned about potentially overdosing my dog. It seemed like she didn't care and continued to insist that I needed to pay for another bottle if I wanted more medication. At that point, I felt frustrated and believed she had no right to treat me or any customer that way. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager apologized and recalculated the remaining antibiotic, providing it in a new bottle for my dog at no cost. He was professional and showed genuine care for the clients. Overpriced - Avoid this place like the plague. They claim they do Laparoscopic Spays and Gastropexy. They are clearly not trained in Laparoscopic procedures. The incisions on our dog were 4cm and 5cm (suspiciously the same size incisions used for a traditional "open" procedure - not a lap procedure) A Laparoscopic incision should be no more than 1 to 1.5cm. They clearly did not do anything close to a Laparoscopic procedure but they will definitely charge you for them. Total scam artists. Office was dirty as well. If you love your pet - avoid at all costs. I work in surgery and know very well what a lap incision looks like...This place is only about taking your money- they will order unnecessary tests and upcharge the hell out of you. AVOID! read more

Brought my dog in for an ear infection. The head doctor comes in for less than a minute and has difficulty restraining my dog (he didn't take a minute to let her warm up to him). He tells me they need to sedate in order to clean the ear. I agree hesitantly since my dogs ear infection was bad and she needed help. They try to charge me $1700 total for other services I didn't request and that were unrelated to her ear condition. I talk them down to $800 to sedate, clean and treat the ear (which is still ridiculously high for this condition). They cleaned and applied antibiotics which I couldve done myself if they just supplied me with cleaning solution and antibiotic ointment. In the end, I feel swindled and that my pet was unnecessarily endangered through sedation. I've used Serra for over 3 years now and am severely disappointed. Looking for a different vet. read more

Our 6lbs Maltedpoo needed to get spay as she is soon to be 4 years old and experience Phantom pregnancies everytime she is in heat. I was very nervous and fearful as it is an operation. Dr.Natt was great at explaining the procedure and recovery in detail. As i brought her in the entire staff was so warm and welcoming. They took Chloe and adored her. In a few hours she was done and in recovery. We had to wait until then evening to pick her up. After moving to the Bay Area over a year ago we have been through several vets and have some truly heart breaking stories but after a recent surgery and treatment we didn't think went well at a different vet we called Serra Veterinary Hospital and they fit us in immediately to assist Winston with the remaining procedures needed and I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and excellent care from the doctor there. Also, my frenchie Bruce has Ivdd and doctor Natt has a neurological background which is hard to find in the Bay! So if you have a Bully that has this issue call Dr Natt. This is a heartbreaking story about my dog, she passed away from cancer this week. If you want a doctor who prioritizes your pet's wellbeing over money then avoid this place. My dog started limping and x-ray (done by my previous vet 2 months prior) confirmed that she had hip arthritis and some fluid on the right knee. Dr Natt looked at the x-ray report and did a quick physical exam on her leg, and within one minute he said my dog had an ACL tear and needed a TPLO surgery. I am partially to blame here as it didn't occur to me that there is no way he can claim that my dog's ACL is torn without further imaging diagnosis since the x ray report was 2 month old and the arthritis is on the hips, not the knees. My girl was 10 years old so I was concerned about how well she will recover from a major surgery like TPLO. Dr Natt's response was, "well if your grandma has an ACL tear you would still get the surgery won't you?" In addition, when he walked out of the room he said, "Get the surgery done. The sooner the better." Post TPLO my girl was doing poorly, her limping actually got worse after 3 weeks. On top of that she had developed a fever. I brought her back to Dr Natt and he said, "There is no problem with the surgery. Just give it time." Another week has gone by and her limping got even worse, she had persistent fever so we brought her in yet again. Dr Natt was defensive, he kept telling me his surgery is fine. He then did another physical exam and this time he did find her groin lymph node was enlarged, so we did an x-ray on her abdomen and chest and we found out that there is a large tumor inside her abdomen and there are nodules on her lungs. So the limping could have been caused by the abdominal tumor pressure. These findings are later confirmed to be cancer. She passed away 3 months later from cancer complications... And her limping never got resolved til the day she died. I truly think that the TPLO surgery was done unnecessarily, and likely the strains on my dog and the complications after the surgery exacerbated the cancer situation. If you are a client, think hard before saying yes to the TPLO surgery, and don't make the same mistake I did -- trusting his words. One last thing, he didn't even have a TPLO certification! read more

My 8 month old kitten, Thomas, was hit by a car and needed FHO surgery for his broken femur head and fractured hip. I called almost a dozen other places and this was hands down the most affordable hospital in our entire area. My baby Thomas was treated wonderfully and thanks to Dr. Natt he is back to his normal rambunctious self. If I lived closer I would certainly take all my pets here. read more

They don't care animals at all but just prioritize profit over the health of our furiends! I took my dog to Serra for a knee exam. Dr. Natt detected a heart murmur and recommended expensive, less effective tests ($1000+ for X-rays and blood work) instead of the appropriate ultrasound (which I later got at a cardiologist for $700). I guess they didn't have the necessary ultrasound equipment, but they still wanted to make money from me so they didn't refer us elsewhere or fully explain our options. A second opinion from a board-certified surgeon and cardiologist implied these tests I got at Serra were inadequate and unnecessary. Oh Dr Natt even misidentified which knee was affected in the medical record : ) I'm glad that I didn't proceed with surgery here. The prices they quoted me were 30-40% higher than other Vet Hospitals. I got a quote for a cat 51/2 lb.of mine to be spayed and for a dog to have a couple of teeth pulled. The spay quote was $2600 + and the teeth pulling was $2,900+.. I went to another Vet Hospital where a got quotes for 1/3 -1/2 of the price Serra Vet wanted. This vet has gone absolutely down the drain over the years and it makes me SO sad! When I review a place, I try and take into consideration the whole experience from the phone call to the front desk staff to the actually veterinarian. I will said the vet doctor is still amazing but he has gotten older and is transferring more responsibilities to others while not having a stable team surrounding him. There is insane turnover and the front desk staff is actually terrifyingly terrible here - they lack common communication and customer service skills as well as zero knowledge and literally EVERYTHING has to be a call back...which never comes so I recommend you check in every day on your own. We recently got two new dogs and knew we would be putting them in a dangerous situation setting them up with Serra vet so we did opt for changing their vet to Reed's in Campbell and the experience is night and day! It wasn't until we physically went into the office that the vet would come and talk to us about the results. Definitely not professional. Bedside manner was consistently bad. We are first time dog owners + rescued a dog so we were expecting a comprehensive relationship with the vet. So, we chose this veterinary hospital because of the great reviews on yelp. Went to Serra two times. first for the initial consultation and then for another health check (and nail trimming). Both times there was limited communication and rushed. I think there needed to a bridge gap in effective communication. To be fair to them, they kept asking us questions for details - but since we had just rescued our dog we didn't have any additional information beyond the health check records. We told them repeated that if they can provide a comprehensive check and to walk us through the exams and expectations. After the first consultation, they simply told us "he's healthy and looks good". I wish we could've know what else to ask. But again, as first time dog owners to a new vet, it would've been nice to get a more in-depth breakdown of what was done and what we can look out for in the future. What made us almost feel like they put payment above care is that they require us to give them our credit card before providing the service. I don't have any other vet experiences to compare but that just rubs me a little wrong. The second time we went, we requested a nail trim. When our dog was returned, the vet tech told us "his nails didn't seem like they needed trimming but we did it anyway because you requested it." To me, it would've been nice to be contacted before doing the work to let us know. If their advice was that a nail trim wasn't needed then we would've respected that decision - as we didn't really know if he needed one or not. Needless to say, we've changed vet and are willing to drive further for a better vet - client relationship. read more

I've only had my dog for a year, and we've had to bring her in like 12 times, hahaha. All the ladies who work there are super awesome! Even after my dog tried to bite them (she's a rescue and doesn't trust people), they're always still so nice to her. When I met the doctor for the first time, I didn't like him at all. But when my dog tore her ACL and needed TPLO surgery, the doctor was AMAZING. He explained everything, was patient, even gave us his cell number if we had more questions (which of course we did, since it's our first dog). So if you meet the doctor and you don't feel like he has a good bedside manner, try to remember that it doesn't matter if he's good with humans. What matters is that he'll take good care of your dog. Oh, also, they're really fast to reply to you and always answer when you call, which is great when you're panicking because your dog just inhaled half a dozen chocolate cupcakes (even though she's not even supposed to be in the kitchen ). The only thing I don't like is that their computer system can only keep track of one parent's name and contact info. It would be great if they could notify both me and my partner. read more

EXPENSIVE! I had to pay $1400 just for them to say something was stuck in my cat's small intestine and then sent her home with us. My cat had been not eating and throwing up for the past couple of days before the initial visit, so I was extremely concerned when she was still throwing up. The next morning we went in again and they wanted us to drop another $800 for another X-ray??? When I expressed my concerns about not being able to afford much more than the $1400 I already paid, they didn't seem to have any empathy or understanding. Furthermore, a new doctor came in to examine my cat and immediately noticed that she was having pains in her abdominal area without having to look at an X-ray- when the other doctor pushed doing a bunch of bloodwork as well as an X-ray to determine the issue. I understand wanting to be thorough, but I think it's extremely off-putting and tone deaf of them to push on all of these extra things when we can barely afford it (for context I'm a student working part-time). Anyway, the new doctor gave us a couple of really pricey options which would just confirm that my cat does have something stuck in her abdominal area (which we already knew she did from the initial X-ray), and then she said we should probably go through with surgery which would be $5,000. They don't do pay installments, so thankfully my sister was there to split the cost with me otherwise I literally would not have been able to do anything for my baby. Because we had to pay the higher of two possible prices for the surgery initially, they gave us a refund for the difference after the successful surgery. I told them to put the refund on my card and confirmed the number of my card, but they put the refund on my sister's card instead? Which is fine because she is my sister and we were going to split it either way, but I think it' s inappropriate and negligent of them to mess that up because they have no idea what our situation is and what if I really needed that refund. After the surgery, they strongly suggested that we take my cat to another vet that operates 24 hours for post op care overnight. They explained that it would be more expensive because it was the weekend but could not tell me what the estimate would be- even though I clearly expressed my concerns about money. It was really frustrating because I felt like I wasn't talking to another human- obviously I love my cat to death, but I literally could barely even afford her surgery and they made me feel guilty for not wanting to take her to the other vet. They also were just very cold in general, when I was in a situation where I thought my cat was going to die and also had to spend an insane amount of money. I thought they would be more understanding and caring, and it's sad because I feel like I can't trust vets anymore. (They also called my sister instead of me, even though I told them to use my number as the primary one because Kuromi is my cat, and my sister does not need to deal with extra stress. My sister told me that her phone conversations with Serra were also very cold and rude, which is upsetting to me because she is literally the kindest person ever). So I drove all the way to San Jose after picking up my cat from Serra to drop her off at Veterinary Emergency Group. I was feeling very on edge after my experience at Serra, but when I walked into VEG I immediately felt so much more welcomed, and the energy was just so much kinder and understanding. The first thing they did was make sure my cat was okay, and they had to fix her catheter and give her some pain meds. They were surprised that Serra hadn't given me any pain medication for my cat to take home, so they prescribed some for her. They gave me an estimate of $3300 for a 24 hour stay, which was literally impossible for me to pay. I told them I could not afford it and they were extremely understanding and told me they could work with whatever I had. When I asked if I could just take her home with me, they said yes as long as I had pain medication for her. They only charged me for the pain meds and not the examination and even gave me some snacks for my baby who hadn't eaten in five days, which was so incredibly kind of them. It was just a complete 180 from my experience at Serra and I hope the employees at Serra reflect on the way they speak to people and realize that some of us are broke and it's not okay to make us feel bad for not being able to pay for the best care for our pets. My cat is perfectly well now, the only thing wrong with her when I took her home was that her paw was swollen from a bandage that was wrapped too tightly on her leg. If you choose this vet for any of your pet's emergencies, be prepared to spend a lot or make sure you have pet insurance. read more

Our dog Vino broke her leg while playing with a bigger dog in the middle of the night, so we rushed her to the nearest hospital, Sage. They didn't have a doctor in for the night, so Vino needed to stay overnight and wait for the doctor to take a look in the morning. When the morning came, the doctor told us that Vino needed an operation and this needed to happen within 72 hours, and it would cost around for the surgery 10k and another 10k to remove the pins afterward. We found it very expensive, but we also wanted to ensure Vino got the best care possible. At the same time, the whole experience felt very transactional, so before saying yes, we started asking around for recommendations to other places, and a good friend recommended Serra Vet. We were so glad our friend recommended them because Pam and Dr. Natt provided the care we were looking for Vino, and they fixed Vino's leg at a much more reasonable price than the initial quote we got, and they did a great job fixing it. This was three years ago, and we have been recommending them and going to them for all of Vino's vet needs, big or small. read more

Honestly, the staff was really nice and they even gave me a free first visit veterinarian check-up. I was gone for a weekend and found blood stains where my cat sleeps so I decided to take him to the Vet. But when I got home after paying $150 total in antibiotics and a recommended 10-minute Feline Aids Test, I looked closer at my cats nose to find he just had a topical wound. The vet was only present for about 3-5 minutes and barely looked closer at my cat's snout. Then recommended I start with antibiotics, get him checked for feline aids, pay $300 for a "total health checkup" (which I declined) and recommended getting an X-Ray afterward if it didn't work out (which we're all aware costs thousands of dollars). I was wary to pay more than the antibiotics in case it was something internal but felt bad to decline everything because they gave me a free first visit check-up so I agreed to the feline aids test. I regret paying for that feline aids test (which was $70). If they had just looked closer, I'm sure that the Vet Tech or the Veterinarian would have been able to see what I saw when I got home. It's upsetting for me just because I could have avoided paying so much for basically something my cat would have healed on his own if the experts looked a little closer and maybe helped me pay for something that would directly help his wound, even. read more

My dog went through a very expensive neutering procedure there yesterday, which cost 700+. I chose to neuter my dog at a vet clinic instead of humane society, which will cost significantly less, is because I wanted him to have better care and IV access in emergencies. My husband dropped him off in the morning at 9:00am and picked him up at around 6:00pm. My dog came back with a cone, which was apparently too small for him. I checked his wound after dinner at around 7:05pm and it appears to be open, I called Serra vet hospital immediately and they were closed for the day. They mentioned United vet hospital in their voicemail for emergencies and that's where we went. Vet at United vet hospital saw my dog in that cone and her immediate reaction was:"this cone is too small for him". She flushed the wound,stapled it, and put him on a bigger cone and prescribed some antibiotics to take home with us. My dog has been ok so far. The real drama started when I called Serra hospital this morning and told them about what happened last night and requested for reimbursement for last night's emergency care. They denied that it was their mistake for putting him on the wrong size cone and only offered me $100 credit at their clinic. I asked them if they will fix the issue for no charge during office hours and they said yes. But they were not willing to reimburse me for what I had spent at the emergency care. I mean, was it my fault that my dog came home with a wrong size cone after I spent $700+?! We've been coming to this clinic since we got our dog as a puppy, but we for sure are not coming back. I'm also in the process of filing a formal complaint with California Veterinary Medical board. I will try resolving this issue with them one more time later today and if they still insist on not reimbursing me, I will take this to small claims court. This place is great. Totally recommend them. The staff - They are super pleasant and go above and beyond to help. I went in for a health certificate to fly out of the country. Even though they didn't know the process for the country I was flying to, they helped me find the information, they provided all the tests needed and the documentation and followed up every step of the way. They treat my dog so nicely and kindly (though don't pick her up as I understand dogs can be aggressive if they are being taken away from their owners - hand to hand). The wait - Since the covid hit, two years ago, I call them up when I arrive to their parking lot and we wait outside (probably not more than 5 min) until they come to fetch our dog. Their prices - I have not found them to be different than other similar businesses Their availability - they try to take you in as soon as possible, especially if it is an emergency. Covid - this has caused some changes. In the past I would go in with my dog. She likes it and I prefer to be next to her during an unpleasant procedure (like taking blood/ vaccination and so on) but I totally understand the the new process keeps me safer and I don't have to come in. The vet comes out if something needs further explaining. I appreciate them keeping me safe. read more

My cat was experiencing a balding area near the base of her tail because she was biting it off. I was thinking perhaps a skin rash/fleas. I needed a vet to simply look at it and make some kind of diagnosis. I called the day before notifying them that she may be a bit aggressive and may hiss. They reassured me it's fine and they're experienced with handling more difficult animals. On the day of her appointment, after 10 min, they call me saying they cannot examine her as she was not letting them weigh her. They recommended I give her 2 tablets of Gabapentin prior to her next appointment so she would be more relaxed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to have her take them as cats are known to be difficult to pill or provide medicine to. I called before my appointment for advice since I wasn't able to give her the medication to which I received an awful response: "Uh, well I don't know what you should do. I'm not sure since you weren't able to give her the medicine." I was a bit confused as they are the subject matter experts and I was looking for advice of guidance moving forward. She proceeds to ask me what I think I should do to which I respond that I wasn't sure, that was the entire reason I called. She states the vet recommends to book a new appointment so they can SEDATE her to simply EXAMINE HER. This hospital seems too quick to choose medication and sedation as techniques for dealing with more difficult animals. Did they even TRY to examine her? What happened to them being professionals and knowing how to handle aggressive cats? I've been to several appointments with my cat and she has NOT ONCE ever scratched or attacked a vet, so I'm not sure what environment they placed on my cat that caused her to be as chaotic as they made it seem. It did not seem like the team remotely cared about the well being of my cat and was just looking for the easiest method of examining her with disregard to her health. (providing medication and sedation for a simple check-up) I went to Ark Emergency Hospital in San Jose the same day and was able to go in with my cat. The experience was wonderful and absolutely no issues. They had amazing customer service and genuinely care about the well being of your pets. I have informed my friends to NOT go to Serra Vet Hospital as they only care about the money and not the well being of our fur babies. -1/5 stars read more

We were flying our 5 year old schnauzers - one miniature and one standard - from San Jose to Salt Lake City, UT. We have flown other dogs before so we are experienced with ensuring their safety - in cabin and in cargo - along with the rules and regulations with the various airlines. One of these is a health certificate issued by a vet no more than 10 days prior to the flight. This is an extremely important detail. I called our "original vet" with whom our dogs have been going to for the past 5 years - their only vet. They told me they were no longer considered patients since they were last seen before Covid. (A whole other story as to why.) I was shocked, but then said when can I get a "new patient" visit. They said at least 2 days before my flight. Great! I'll take it to get the health certificate. They told me that they weren't able to do that. I had to make four separate appointments - the first two to establish my dogs as new patients - again- and then a second two appointments for the health certificate. They wouldn't combine them. That's 4 appointments they don't have available in the time frame I need help with. I was frustrated at their lack of creativity to help me - or event to attempt to help me. I opted to find a new vet and discovered Serra. Not only did they understand the predicament I was in, they bent over backwards to help me - AS A COMPLETE STRANGER. They found a way to fit both dogs in to get their health certificates - in 1 appointment. FABULOUS!! What was even more amazing about this is that this was new for them. They didn't hesitate to find a way to help and researched what was needed for the health certificate. Mission accomplished. I realized that the one thing missing that some airlines require is a statement of acclimation stating the temperatures (cold and heat) in which they can be exposed to for a specific period of time. This is needed during the summer and winter. I called back, they found a way to get me the updated certificate. Oh and this was the MORNING OF MY FLIGHT. This was my mistake and they again, went out of their way to help me out of a HUGE bind. I really appreciate their customer service, patience with me and my boys as new patients, and willingness to go above and beyond to help me - with my mistakes and deadlines. Quick update. As mentioned, Dr Neff suggested we see how my pup would do with some rest and rehab before suggesting surgery. Happily, our beagle is fully back to his crazy self. Knee issue resolved. No surgery. A lot of Vets and other doctors would have suggested surgery but happily the patience route worked. Thanks again!! . read more

Called while I was trying to find a new vet for my kitten. The staff who answered the phone was very helpful and answered all my questions. They were a little but more pricey than other vets and after reading the reviews on here from owners with cats I ultimately decided to go with another vet. read more

I am so grateful that Dr. Natt suggested dental xrays for both cats - one cat is 9 and the other is 16. They both had significant dental infections and had to have teeth extracted - I didn't make the connection - the same goes for humans - you can't tell from just visual dental examinations. Dr. Natt went over all the x-rays with me. This procedure I know extended their lives. Please everyone, have your pet's teeth x-rayed. also requested that sevoflurane - the anesthesia for their dental cleaning and surgery be used. This is day 2 and both cats seem really fine. I took my cat to this hospital this morning for the physical exam, and wasn't happy about the visit. Overall l, I felt that the receptionist rushed us the whole time--which at first I did not mind. We came before July 4th and during COVID -19, so we did not mind to wait a little bit longer at all. However, during our entire visit, she was not very patient to answer our questions. She gave me a form to fill out as new client. When she came to collect my form, I asked her questions about different types of vaccines, she was a bit rushed and only explained to me the first vaccine on the form. She then asked me for my credit card for the physical exam and took my cat. She explained to me that it was for the safety purpose. Although, as another person recently wrote in his /her review, I also felt a bit awkward about it. Can you just ask my credit card number on the phone ? Is this even safer if we pay on the phone? The whole exam was done in about 5 mins. Then the receptionist came out with two pages of results. One page was my cat' s physical exam result invoice with only one line on it. Another page was like a quote for my cat's dental care. The receptionist explained to me that my cat needed dental care and the estimate price for her dental problems was over $800. If my cat really has these dental problems, I am willing to pay for it. My question is, why you only include a one line invoice for the physical exam without listing any exams you take for my cat, but gave me a much more detailed dental care quote priced over $800? I don't know, I let people who read my review to judge. Then I told the receptionist that I had some questions to ask, she stopped me and said I should asked these questions before seeing the doctor. Actually, when I made the appointment, she told me that I could ask the doctor on the phone after the exam. That's why I did not ask questions before the exam. And also, girl, you did not even give me enough time to ask questions about the form i filled out. fortunately, you do have time to take my credit card with you. The receptionist told me the doctor was busy so ask her questions instead and see if she could answer them. I asked her some questions and she answered them where I could find similar answers on google. She told me to call the doctor for the remaining questions later. Then she stopped me again and told us that the next appointment was waiting, so we left. We went home, I called the hospital again, and was told the doctor will call me later. The doctor called me in the afternoon, he was also in a rush. I asked him about the my cat breed, he said he was not sure. ( I don't know who I should ask this question if the vet did not know the answer). I asked him question about my cat occasionally scratching her eyes and ears. He said that he did not notice anything, but the previous vet my cat went to with her original owner did notice something wrong with her eyes. Maybe my cat's eyes are fine now. I am not sure. When I asked him another question about my cat occasionally throwing up after eat, he immediately suggested me to do the blood test and change diet. Was he suggesting I should spend more money on blood test even I told him my cat felt fine after throwing up and we did not change her food recently? I don't know, I am not a doctor. Again, I let anyone who read this review to judge. During our conversation, the doctor tried to cut me out two times before I finishing up my questions, but I still managed to tell him what I feel about today's visit. He explained to me several times that 1. I should write down my questions before I come 2 they took my credit card before the exam is for the safety purpose. He also explained to me that they fall behind their schedule. I am sorry to hear that but this is not my problem. I paid you so I deserve your service. Overall, I don't think he felt sorry for me, but tried to convince me that it's me not following their policies. If that's the case, do you think it is easier to let your customers know these before they come? Or at least, put these on your website so that everyone can see during the pandemic? In general, I don't think they take enough care about customers and their pets, especially first time customers, at least to me. This is a really long review. If any one read it from beginning to the end, i appreciate that. I rarely write bad reviews but I feel that I should write it down. I've seen some reviews said that this hospital pays people to write good reviews and someone even posted picture to prove that. Since I cannot get inside the building during the pandemic, I did not see the offer other reviewers saw inside the building at the front desk. But I do hope that my review is helpful for those of you who need honest opinion to choose a good vet during COVID -19. We got great care for our beagle when he needed surgery to remove two cysts. We met with Dr Huynh beforehand to discuss the surgery and she laid out all the options. She called us before and after the procedure on the day of the surgery to let us know what she was planning to do and how it went. The post-op care was great--we needed to go back several times for bandage changes and everything went very smoothly. Dr Natt did most of the post-op care and he is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. The techs and front office staff are friendly, helpful and competent. took our 12 year old dog to this vet to get his annual physical. We recently moved to the bay area from NYC and decided to choose this place because all the other vets in the area only had availability 1-2 months out. Was a big mistake!. They said he needed to be sedated to do the full checkup because he was uncooperative. I get it, our dog is aggressive but never in the 12 years has a vet told us he needed to be sedated to perform an exam. This was our fault, we gave them the ok since they convinced us that it was necessary and that they could do things like look at his teeth and trim his nails. But WOW was it expensive. It was pricier than any vet we have been to in NYC. They charge for every little thing and they hand you medication without even explaining to you any diagnosis. I sent our final bill to a vet we know and they were so surprised at the markup on everything. Im giving them 2 stars because they are actually very nice and friendly until they give you the bill! Looking at some of the bad reviews, i actually agree with some of them. I really do think they try to sedate your pet because either they are lazy and don't feel like dealing with uncooperative pets or they want to make more money by charging you for the sedation. Our 12 year old dog has never been required to be sedated to perform an exam. Also they never even trimmed his nails even though they said it was covered with the exam! I would only go to this vet if price is no factor and that you need an appointment ASAP. read more

We took our puppy in because he was sick and our normal vet did not have openings at the time. This was our first visit and very much less than ideal. 1. They cornered us to bring him in when we were just checking for availability, because of their tone, we brought him in, and reluctantly had to leave him at the door, less than ideal for puppy, they gave him a noose-like choke collar put on, which I'm sure is fine for older dogs, but not for overactive puppies scared in a vet office, (and we could not be with him). He had neck trauma when we brought him home, so we had to bring him back to diagnose. 2. After they did the first comprehensive checkup they did didn't "find" anything, but managed to lose his blood vials in the process, as well, charged us a ton of money for this. 3. We had to go back again and redo the process for lost vials, (had to take the afternoon off to do this)... On going back, the Dr. wanted to sedate/do surgery/etc to figure what was was wrong with the neck trauma from the first visit (we assume trauma), though the doctor noted "he didn't really know what the issue was". 4. Fourth, we were given the wrong medication on first visit, they prescribed, it was wrong (we're not vets), we did not use it, but had to pay full price + a massive markup, nevertheless. 5. On the second visit, for what we believe is complication from the first visit, they prescribed antibiotics (fine), but charged a full 4x markup of price what could have been gotten anywhere else. read more
