I am a veterinarian and routinely perform surgeries myself; however, for my own dog, I did not want to perform the procedure personally. I am extremely selective about whom I trust, and I wanted her spay and gastropexy done by someone whose surgical skill and judgment I trust completely. Dr. Natt performed a laparoscopic spay with laparoscopic-assisted gastropexy, which is significantly less invasive than traditional open surgery. The procedure went smoothly, and my dog recovered remarkably quickly with minimal discomfort. Her healing and overall outcome were excellent. I would not hesitate to trust him again with my own pet and highly recommend him to colleagues and pet owners seeking advanced, minimally invasive surgical options.

I'm a physician. This vet is a crook who orders fraudulent testing panels, unnecessary x-ray views and virtual overseas radiology consults (for fabricated heart murmurs). $2000 for labs and x-rays to tell me my cat is healthy. Cat had a blade of grass in his nose. Vet missed it during exam. Cat sneezed & I pulled it out. All better. They don't check microchips. I was raised in 4-H, so I'm not illiterate with animals. Like most of you, I am done with dishonesty throughout all healthcare systems, and I will continue to call it out whenever I see it.

4cm incision for a lap spay? Most likely they just did a traditional open procedure. They are clearly not trained in laparoscopic surgery.

Overpriced - Avoid this place like the plague. They claim they do Laparoscopic Spays and Gastropexy. They are clearly not trained in Laparoscopic procedures. The incisions on our dog were 4cm and 5cm (suspiciously the same size incisions used for a traditional "open" procedure - not a lap procedure) A Laparoscopic incision should be no more than 1 to 1.5cm. They clearly did not do anything close to a Laparoscopic procedure but they will definitely charge you for them. Total scam artists. Office was dirty as well. If you love your pet - avoid at all costs. I work in surgery and know very well what a lap incision looks like...This place is only about taking your money- they will order unnecessary tests and upcharge the hell out of you. AVOID!

When your faced with a scary situation regarding your little animal, it's so important to take them to a place where people care and want to help. This facility is so clean, staffed so very well and took care of my doggy with love and care! My dog was bit at the park and I ran here in a panic. They were able to help me and get me set up for future appointments. The pricing was great compared to many vets I've been to and my doggy is home happy with me We will definitely be back! Thanks so much

After moving to the Bay Area over a year ago we have been through several vets and have some truly heart breaking stories but after a recent surgery and treatment we didn't think went well at a different vet we called Serra Veterinary Hospital and they fit us in immediately to assist Winston with the remaining procedures needed and I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and excellent care from the doctor there. Also, my frenchie Bruce has Ivdd and doctor Natt has a neurological background which is hard to find in the Bay! So if you have a Bully that has this issue call Dr Natt. Also Bruce was thankful for him and now Dr Natt has a new friend.

If I could give more stars I would!! I cannot thank Dr.Natt and his entire team for how kind, caring, and attentive they were. My 8 month old kitten, Thomas, was hit by a car and needed FHO surgery for his broken femur head and fractured hip. I called almost a dozen other places and this was hands down the most affordable hospital in our entire area. My baby Thomas was treated wonderfully and thanks to Dr. Natt he is back to his normal rambunctious self. If I lived closer I would certainly take all my pets here.

Do the vets treat many flat faced Persian cats?

This question should be asked of the veterinarians at Serra Veterinary Hospital. They are the only ones who can know if they treat many flat-faced Persian cats. I'm sure they would be happy to answer your question if you just give them a call.

Is this a pet hotel too?

We do offer daycare and boarding services for your pets.

Does the clinic charge a fee for follow up visits? For vaccination appointments, is there a tech or office visit fee?

When you go back for the follow up vaccines (boosters?), you don't have to pay for an exam.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and they really all care about animals. Dr. Michelle has always been wonderful. She listens, she's patient, my dogs love her, she's professional and just a pleasure to coordinate with when it comes to my dogs' care. I lean on the more holistic side of care, and I love that Dr. Michelle really takes that into consideration when we are discussing health and meds. She doesn't just run to medication for the answer all the time. I really appreciate the balance of some holistic remedies with modern medicine for the dogs. My older dog Snickers has pancreatitis and he is on prescription food, but Just Food for Dogs as a topper and other vitamins she suggested. Also, the prices here are very reasonable. I've had to take the dogs to other vets on the occasion the office is closed for a week, and other vet prices are very pricey! Arroyo Animal Clinic doesn't try to sale me on procedures or meds. We just address what is needed. There isn't a sales pitch like some other vets do. Things can get expensive (I've had surgeries here, teeth cleanings, blood panels, and all those are not cheap. But still overall service and care cannot be beat. They really do care about you and you're animal. All in all, Arroyo Animal Clinic has been my go to veterinary for years, and I'm not going anywhere else. I drive from San Jose to come here and will continue do so until Dr. Michelle closes shop.

I've had my dog since he was 8 weeks old, and all of his care had been handled here for years. My first major concern happened during his neuter procedure. The staff emphasized that we needed to arrive exactly at 8 AM, so I gave my dog a bath beforehand since I knew he wouldn't be able to bathe after surgery. My dog is hypoallergenic and has hair rather than fur, so he takes a long time to dry. He was still slightly damp when we arrived because I didn't have enough time to fully blow-dry him before the appointment. Hours went by without any communication from the clinic, so I finally called to check on him. That's when they informed me they hadn't even started the procedure because they were waiting for him to dry off in the kennel. I was extremely upset that nobody thought to call and tell me my dog's surgery had been delayed for hours over something so minor. After the surgery, I followed all post-op instructions, but weeks later the stitches still had not dissolved and my dog was becoming irritated. Because my trust had already been shaken, I ended up going to another vet for a second opinion and to have the stitches removed. Despite all of this, I decided to give the clinic another chance. My dog had his first dental cleaning and extraction here when he was around 3, and now at age 7 he needs another cleaning. This time, however, they suddenly said that because of his underbite they could no longer handle his "anatomical challenges" and referred me to a specialist in Aptos that charges nearly double and is completely out of the way. What doesn't make sense to me is that they successfully cleaned his teeth before, but now they're saying they can't do it again. After more than six years of bringing my dog here with no major medical issues, it's incredibly disappointing to now feel like they no longer want to service him. Overall, the customer service has been poor. Communication is lacking, emergencies don't seem to be prioritized appropriately over routine appointments, and my experiences here have left me very disappointed and frustrated.

The area on her neck was extremely red, there was bleeding, and a large scab formed. This did not look like a normal needle mark, it looked like trauma to the skin. Animals cannot speak. They cannot tell us what they experienced, so we rely on clinics to treat them with care and proper technique. Seeing this on my dog raises serious concerns about the quality of care here. When I went back to talk to them, I received no clear explanation or real help. My concerns were not taken seriously. We have been coming here for four years, but this completely broke our trust. We will NEVER COME BACK AGAIN! I will be posting a comparison photo of my friend's dog after a blood draw, the difference is obvious.

When Bruno passed away it was at the clinic (it was his time, he was in pain). They gave us the space we needed with him to say goodbye and made a difficult situation no more difficult than it needed to be. I want to talk a little about their prescription policies, after reading a review about frustration that ELC asks to speak to you directly instead of just sending prescriptions to other places, or wanting to make an appointment before renewing certain prescriptions. It's literally relevant to the phone call I had with them today! My cat Guava has had urine crystals in the past and was put on prescription food, since then he's had no issues. I called in to renew the prescription since Chewy bounced it back to me as expired. They asked me to bring him in to do a check up and urinalysis before renewing the prescription. Honestly, because he's been doing so well, I didn't even think to do that. At first I was like "aw man but he's fine! He's doing so well!" But I thought about it: this really speaks to the level of care they have for our animals. Sometimes we think everything's fine and we only find out it's not fine when it's *super* not fine. It's been a couple years since he was last checked out. If you don't know about cat urine crystals, they can lead to blockages which are fatal. I really appreciate that they want to make sure he's okay. I let them know I needed a week or two to figure out finances for the appointment and they said they could still send my boyfriend home with Guava's prescription food from their office in the meantime. And the lady on the phone was extremely kind and non-judgmental, which meant a lot. They've been nothing but fair to us, kind, and loving to my animals. When Guava had to be checked in for several days back when he had his crystals, they let me come into the back and sit with him while he was recovering, sticking my fingers through the bars to pet his head and give him what comfort I could. So yeah, I get the prescription thing can be inconvenient, but they care, and that matters more to me than anything.

I explained the situation, but was told they were fully booked and could only provide the phone number of an emergency veterinary hospital. That said, we are actually going to the same vet for exactly the same reason, and I have personally seen a great deal of compassion from them. They are closed on Sundays and only open a half day on Saturdays, which can make urgent situations challenging, but my experiences with their staff have shown that they genuinely care about the animals they treat. Another perspective is that many pet owners feel emergency hospitals can charge dramatically more than regular clinics, making them seem like a rip-off for relatively simple procedures. I understand that clinics have schedules and capacity constraints, but I was surprised that no effort was made to accommodate a senior dog in distress, even for what appeared to be a brief procedure. I had hoped for a bit more compassion and understanding given the circumstances. Compassion and flexibility are qualities many pet owners look for in a veterinary practice, especially when dealing with urgent situations involving elderly animals. While the staff was polite, the lack of any attempt to help beyond providing another phone number left me feeling unsupported at a stressful time. Based on this experience, I would hesitate to rely on this clinic during an urgent situation.
