I second Tonia R in that I don't want to see another great Indian restaurant not make it. Just got back from Lahore Grill and had to write up my review. Now, I've been a loyal customer of Unique Indian just up the street but was hungry for a late lunch / early dinner (Unique wasn't open yet) and had to give this place a try. I was NOT disappointed. I get the impression that the restaurant was once a Mexican restaurant from the decor. Upon entering, the staff were super friendly to me and brother. The owner and / or manager was so nice to bring out fresh naan for us and he had a couple buffet dishes made fresh for us since the others had been sitting around for a while. What great service! My intention was to order off the menu but the buffet looked so good, I couldn't pass it up. I'm a meat eater and was glad to see they had a good offering of non-vegetarian offerings. Mostly chicken, with 1 lamb dish. Don't miss the Chicken Makhani (Butter chicken) and Chicken 65 (Indian version of fried chicken). It is kind of tricky to find. In the word of Huey Freeman, "Meh." The only great thing about my dining experience at Lahore Grill was the Bollywood love story/comedy that was playing on the restaurant's TV. I wish I could have waited to see who Sanjah picked in her love triangle. This place, as another Yelper noted, was a ghost town. We stepped into Lahore Grill and I swore I heard the rustling of tumbleweeds in the air. There was nobody in there but my husband and I and the proprietors. In fact the man at the counter actually looked shocked that he had customers. I don't know why I didn't take that as some sort of sign. I guess the heat stroke and low blood sugar I was experiencing, combined with the quest for samosas and chicken tiki masala, made me hesitant to turn back. So, we step up to the counter and place our order of two chicken tiki masala and I notice that the chicken tiki masala does not come with rice and naan. This should have been the other clue that Lahore Grill was not the place to be, but again my mind was hazy and my stomach was on greedy. I mean isn't it like a law that all entrees at Indian restaurants come with rice and naan included?! Or is that just my understanding? *shrug* We placed our orders for samosas, chicken tiki masala, garlic naan, and plain rice and were directed to seat ourselves. Now one thing I can say is that the Lahore Grill does not push out food straight from the kitchen, there was a bit of a wait that had me thinking the food might actually be delicious. Wrong again. The samosas came out first and they were as dry as all get out. Seriously samosas are like the one thing I have never had wrong at any Indian restaurant. Guess there is a first for everything. Then to top it off the chutney and the mint sauce was all creamy. Ugh. After the samasos were done the rest of the food was placed on the table and surprise, the garlic nann and chicken was dry too. Wait, excuse me all 6 small pieces of bonelss chicken was dry. Yes, I counted. For $6.99 I should have had more than that. In general, the food was meh. Although spicy, there was no real flavor to the food. It just was blah. This is definitely not your momma's Indian food, well if your momma was Indian of course. My verdict is: Save yourself some trouble, and go elsewhere, unless you just want to kick back and watch some free Bollywood. read more

As Donald Trump would say, "it's gonna be HUGE!". The person behind the counter said that they've been open for 3 months so far. We went to this restaurant last night after my GE buddy ate at it twice this week. He joined us for this third trip. The food is great! We ordered: Chicken biryani, mutton korma, haleem, lamb seekh kebabs, keema naan, garlic naan. This was plenty of food for 3 guys and a lady. The chicken biryani was outstanding! The chicken was moist and you could taste the distinct spices in the fried rice. Definitely order this especially if you are getting a korma or haleem. The mutton korma is to die for. The texture of the mutton is like that of an osso bucco that has been simmering for hours. It melts in your mouth. I will always order this when I visit. The haleem was great. This is the first non-vegetarian haleem that I've had. I've had halim at Panahar and it's completely different. I like this haleem, it is an intense meat soup! :-) I was not a fan of the keema naan. The meat stuffed in the bread added nothing for me. The garlic naan was good. Wasn't much garlic but it was crispy so that made up for it. Our bill for the above food and 1 diet coke came to about $11.50 a person before tip. They have lunch buffet during the week and lunch and dinner buffet on the weekends. read more

This is a super-cheap, Indian lunch buffet option if you're in the Cobb County area. As of Feb 4, 2012, the lunch buffet costs only $6.99. That is pretty cheap. Lahore Grill is located inside a sketchy shopping center. The shopping center looks like it hasn't been cleaned in forever. I guess one reason why they're cheap is the location. The food tastes decent. They have it organized at their buffet bar: The fresh salads, the vegetarian section, and the non-vegetarian section. The selection isn't vast as Swapana's down the street. But for the price, it's a steal. The taste doesn't seem different either. I loved their naan. Of course, like all Indian food, the food feels greasy and heavy. Even though it's a buffet, I don't think I can get more than 1 plate of food. I can try, but it won't be pretty. In their non-buffet room, they have some pool tables. Their pool hall looks interesting because there are no chairs. Instead, they have raised platforms for people to sit on... perhaps Indian style. Listen y'all Ive been all around this city looking for really good chicken Makhani and this joint has one of the best that Ive had here. Smooth, creamy, a little spicy; the sauce is just about perfect. The chicken was cooked well and neither dry nor juicy, just well cooked chicken. The rice was fluffy, not sticky, well separated, and just about perfect for plain white rice. Naan was on point as well, fluffy and crispy at the same time. The interior and initial awkwardness of dinner service leave a little to be desired, but really you come here for the food. I fully like Lahore Grill for their lunch buffet, and fully endorse the chicken Makhani, veggie pakora, chicken 65, and tandori chicken all of which have been available on the buffet every time I have been. read more

Frankly I'm shocked at the four star rating. Luke warm buffet meat dishes (and some vegetable also) covered in oil. Creepy but yet cavernous surroundings. Blasting Indian TV as if it's a rare treat to be blessed to be allowed listen to it. One of those places that you can help thinking food poisoning is in your future upon leaving. (It wasn't). Maybe I need to come at night, but I was so put off by the lunch buffet I won't chance it again. Close to me too. (Bummer. I was rooting for them as I drove up.) My wife and I decided to try Lahore this past Friday (on a whim) so we drove down to Terrell Mill and checked it out. Our first impression was along the lines of "what have we gotten ourselves into?". As a previous reviewer noted, the place used to be a Mexican restaurant - and not much has changed (in or out). When we walked in, NO ONE WAS THERE! Nothing says "run away" quite so quickly as an empty restaurant on a Friday night. What changed our minds? A nice Indian gentleman came in to pick up a huge order of food and then asked what we were looking for. he was kind enough to introduce us to the owner and then made suggestions for dinner. We had Chicken 65, Chicken Korma (my favorite) and Chicken Biryani (plus Naan) All of which was fantastic! We want to come back and try the Grand Buffet in the next weekend or two. Ok, so I have recently become slightly obsessed with their buffet. The butter chicken and the tikka masala spooned over basmati rice are my favorites. The buffet is really the way to go when eating here, since you can sample various items. Hot naan is brought out to your table, as well as this "fried bread" which is great to sop up all the sauces. I love their pappadums as well...I could almost make a meal out of those alone! They have various vegetarian dishes as well such as: eggplant, chickpeas, palak paneer etc... I used to complain about not enough great places to eat in Cobb County. I mean if you compare living in Gwinnett County and dining out to Cobb County, you will know what I mean. Okay, okay, I'm talking about the Asian cuisines. I cannot just go to the International Market and grab a bubble tea or banh mi so that's why I complain and usually just eat plain old sandwiches at work. Thanks to Yelp, I can just search a cuisine or particular dish. So I did just that and found Lahore Grill. Since Lahore Grill was 3.7 miles from work according to Mapquest, I thought I'll give it a shot. I went to lunch solo and have some "me" time. The address has it on South Cobb Parkway but it's not directly on it, you have to turn into Terrell Mill then it will be located on your left hand side in a shopping strip. You cannot miss Lahore Grill, the restaurant is has mosque-like features if that makes any sense. There is also a Punjab store that has halal meats and groceries. As I walk into Lahore Grill, I see a sign that has "You can seat yourself." I decided to sit on the left hand side of the restaurant, which the restaurant was a lot bigger than I thought. You will see the buffet and there were a lot more items than I thought. Everything was labeled. I wanted to try the vegetable pakora but both times I got up, there was none. There was no tandoori chicken but there was chicken 65!! Yes!! I also got chicken makhani & many other dishes that I cannot remember the name. The makhani was yellow in color and more buttery than I've had and to my surprised it was all white meat. I'm used to eating it with dark meat and the sauce being more flavorful and orange looking. I also ordered the mango lassi, it was soooo good. I enjoyed listening to Bollywood music while eating. I turned back and saw B4U playing Son of Sardar, Yes Boss, & Jaan-E-Maan's music, lol. After stuffing myself, I finally got up to pay. I noticed another room that looked very loungey with colorful pillows. I'm assuming it's for hookahs and a fun evening night out. If I'm craving Desi food, I don't mind going back to Lahore Grill. For only $7.99 for lunch buffet, there is enough variety to choose from. Got to know about this place through Yelp. Had to give it a try since I have been wanting Indian food since moving here.. and could not find good ones.. esp buffet style.. the place is clean.. food is simply delicious.. I like the naan, the chiken tika masala yummyyy.. love the .. veggie pakora.. crispy and done just right.. they dont put a large amount on the steam table.. but they tend to replenish any food which is running low promptly.. so you dont get soggy pakora or dried-up curry .. so I like that a lot... so whatever time of the day you walk in, you will still get fresh' stuff on the buffet line. The service is good .. deco wise, pretty simple.. I like the idea of the TV on the wall which play Bollywood movie and MTVs.. I also like the fact that the whole dining hall is clean .. they clean and wipe the buffet line whenever they see any 'mess' created by the customer taking food.. While I was there, there were not many customer s.. I was there on a Saturday at around 2.00 p.m. they serve Grand Buffet from 12.00 pm to 10.00 p.m. on weekends. Generally it was a satisfying weekend lunch.. finally found the right place to get my Indian food the next time I crave for one .. so I think I am gonna be a frequent customer here.. they deserve a 4 star.. read more

This place was accidentally discovered while getting some auto repairs done. The Northern Indian/Pakistani style lunch buffet was surprisingly good - in particular, the lamb kababs were nicely spiced and a welcome surprise as usually not part of standard Indian buffets. Plenty of meat dishes, which was great since I'm not a vegetarian! If you've eaten enough Indian food, you'll be able to see that the entrees were prepared a little differently, being Northern Indian cuisine. Nicely done! The manager/owner on duty was attentive and helpful with any questions. The price is below $10, which is always great if you have a bit of a drive to get to the location. read more

First time having this style of cuisine and I was blown away. Came in for lunch and enjoyed the buffet. The owners came out and checked on us daily to see how we were enjoying the food and brought us freshly cooked naan throughout our visit. I enjoyed the buttered chicken and the mutton. Very tender and cooked to perfection. Most of the food is semi spicy and infused with alot of indian flavors. There are a few dishes that a very greasy but of course thats the "dish" and not the cooked wrong should I say. Of course I can't pronounce or remember the actual names of all the food I partook of but it all was very delicious and I've have no quarrel or complaint with this restaurant. Based in a non de-script strip mall strewn with former and current latin based business that are casualties to the area and wedged next to a car dealership the entrance and surroundings almost beg you to carry on somewhere else. However if you stick it out the food is quick, great and reasonably priced. If you're a fan of getting the stink eye by the waiters at Swapna then you'll be disappointed. The customer service was quick and friendly. Our glasses and naan were replenished quickly. The buffet isn't that grandiose but it's good. Mahkani chicken, mutton khorma, Lahori Chicken, the lentil curries, tandoori chicken, chutneys and vegetables were all fresh and hot. The shish kabo was really flavorful. I'll definitely be back, I particularly like Indian as a buffet since I like so many different things it's hard to choose one thing. Next time I'll try the advice of the other yelpers and ask for some Tikka Masala. read more

I went to the Lahore on a monday. I love indian food and was surprised that there were so many in the area. I walked in around 4 pm and the place was completely empty. The chairs were on the table and the lights were off. As I approached the front desk I could hear pots and pans and a radio. Thinking I was the next star in a horror film, I did the only logical thing to do. I said hello and waited... I said hello again and waited. Now, I'm backing up to the door. About half way there the owner comes out and welcomes me. He tells me that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. I quickly apologize and tell him that he should lock the door, its dangerous out. And before I could turn around to leave he tells me that he is preparing for a party and urges me to order something. I end up selecting chicken korma and Aloo Gobi. I was disappointed the entree did not come with rice or na'an. So i ordered one of each to go along. I waited maybe 20 minutes. The food was great! The chicken korma was real chicken, not the "chiken chunks" you get from any other fast food joint or short cut restaurant. The herbs used were fresh. The Aloo Gobi was a bit too oily. The overall spice was perfect when paired with na'an or rice. The dinner also came with a small salad, no need for dressing! its perfect. The servings were very generous I ate off the dishes for 4 days. I came back 4 days later to try the 6.99 lunch buffet. The food was excellent. There was MORE then enough meat in each of the meat entrees (mutton and chicken). The customer service is the best I've had since I have arrived in Atlanta. The buffet with soda was $8.40. The owners frequently came to check on customers and the food out. I love this place. You can tell the owners really care about their customers and their product. Stopped by because I have been trying to find a decent Indian restaurant in Atlanta that will not kill me. Anyway this place was pretty desolate on the inside and could def work on the decor a little bit as it seemed a little depressing to me. There was Indian tv playing which made the wait for our food a little entertaining. The staff was friendly and did have some suggestions for me, since I was going to order the chicken masala, but they warned me that it would be too spicy for me. Instead, they suggested the chicken makahni, which I ordered. I requested for it to be very, very mild. My boyfriend ordered the chicken korma with a mango lassi and some naan as well as some samosas. We tried the samosas first and they were a bit too spicy for me. We both thought that they were a bit dry. The mango lassi was excellent and I was so glad to order it to cool off which I needed. I was surprised that our naan had chili flakes all over it, which I had never seen before and not really fond of. When I received my chicken makahni I was not too pleased as it was way spicy for me and I really couldn't finish it even after flooding it with rice and drinking a whole bunch of coke and sipping lassi. My bf's chicken korma was described as "wasn't the best, wasn't the worst" he was more of a fan of my dish, but he can handle his spices way more than I can. He also liked the lassi. This place is OK. The naan is not as good as I've had at many other places. The food is decent but different but that's possibly because of the indo-pak influence. Went for dinner. My Korean friend likes the chicken biryani and Tikka leg. 8pieces tikka is bad. I like the price here which is affordable. To dine in not a good option but to go YES because there are no servers. The one who manages the counter, serves. I like the food will come back but Ambience is bad. I am still on the hunt for "my" indian place - the place I cannot get enough of. Lahore isn't that place for me but it is good enough for now until I find the Indian place that reminds me of Devon Street in Chicago. We have visited Lahore Grill a couple of times and there never seems to be many people in this pretty large place. We have had the buffet and there does seem to be a pretty wide variety of things on the buffet. The butter chicken is excellent. I was incredibly impressed when I asked if something in particular was on the buffet and I was told that it wasn't but if I got the buffet they would bring me out some of the dish I was really craving. The place isn't necessarily much to look at - although that doesn't really scare me off it might be worth mentioning for those of you who would care. As if there weren't enough opinions already... First, it's an Indo/Pak Restaurant, surely you don't expect anything other than spicy food, and if you do, turn around and go somewhere else. Second, the area is hardly a really really really bad ghetto area, it's practically across the street from an air force base, old as all get out? yes! Third, someone was complaining about the prices, SERIOUSLY? Meat isn't cheap, lamb is what? about $6/lb, not to mention, labor, spices, dairy, veggies, overhead etc, do you want them to give you the "ok" food for free? Even "crap" food has a cost. Location, it's close to 75 on Windy Hill, and easy to get to, plenty of parking and never crowded (both are signs to turn around and go somewhere else, in my book). Anyhow, we kept trudging because it was a halal restaurant and they sell halal meat (kosher). The other night was my 4th or 5th time I went to Lahore Grill, and each time has been pretty consistent with an ok taste value. The food isn't what I think it should be as a restaurant, it has more of a fast food, or cafe quality to it. My husband and I have been coming here because there simply aren't that many halal restaurants, and the few around don't even have "ok" food. The chicken Makani, ok...kabab, korma, tikka masala, all "ok". Recently, we had the Haleem which had a taste of the instant version that I could have easily made at home for less than $7, and the Biryani is good on the spicy side (yum), and the pakora and naan hot, sodas cold, raita and condiments all cold and fresh, temperature of everything appropriate. Never had their buffet, as I'm not a fan of any buffet, too many people breathing and serving... The environment here is casual and it sounds like they have some billiards, or at least pool, there is a TV playing bollywood's latest pop music, and a more private section which is usually closed in the evening. The staff is average but at least not rude, and I guess they're relatively friendly. Ok, so with all of that being said, we noticed that they're now selling ALCOHOL?, DEAL BREAKER, if I'm gonna avoid the non conventional rest. like olive garden, etc. because they sell alcohol, i'm certainly not gonna waste my time and money going to this "ok" restaurant just because they have halal meat..seriously? Halal Meat and Alcohol just don't mix, at least not in my world, so I would prefer to have my shrimp alfredo at olive garden and not sit by the bar, then come here and eat their less than average food (although the prices are really REALLY cheap) to sit and stare at alcohol being served near by. However, if you don't care about the alcohol, and you're not used to Desi food, if you're just trying something new, or if you aren't Desi, or you're not really familiar with Indian/Pakistani food, this is a great place to start. If you're searching all around Atlanta for a good Desi restaurant (honestly, you might need to search outside Georgia for that, search further north, or further west toward Dallas,TX) this place is just "ok", and because it's cheap, it make "ok" food a little better. Otherwise, this might not be appropriate, but I really like the food at Karachi Grill (the owner of Lahore Grill is the brother of the owner of Karachi Grill) in Gwinnett County on Jimmy Carter Blvd. Don't go there for environment, they just have some really decent grilled meats, great hamburgers, sandwiches, and tandoori. If I find they're selling alcohol too, that's IT! they're gonna get a big X! read more

Terrible customer service! I just placed an order, and there was an issue with one of the items I placed online. When I called to try to fix the order with the restaurant, the woman who answered the phone hung up on me the first time, and when I called back thinking it was a mistake, she was so nasty and rude saying she was "too busy" to help me. I cancelled the order right then, and will be contacting the online ordering system to have them removed as an option restaurant! read more

Good food, great meat options and they are consistent. I enjoy the buffet at lunch and go there for ala carte dinner. My favorite are the Chicken Haleem, Beef Nihari, Kabobs and all their Mutton options (including Biriyani) freaking awesome. I am an Indian but meat in Indian Restaurants just plain suck. People here are friendly and they serve food in ceramic plates and silverware something most Indian and Pakistani restaurants don't do...they serve you in Styrofoam and plastics. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the place could use some renovations but hey I give 5 stars for the food. Go eat there. I LOVE the food here. I've been hoping to find great Indian food in my area, and, well, here it is. I've had an assortment of dishes from Lahore Grille, and I've always been happy with my selection. Even the desserts are fabulous. It's not really a classy place to look at, but has a FINE menu with some of the best food and selection. The menu is not descriptive, and so you will have to know what you are ordering, but if you are reading this, you likely can consult the internet for a description of a dish OR just ask one of the extremely nice servers. (They all are.) After eating here, I go home full, happy, and my bank account barely has a dent in it. Great Food, Great Price, Great Service : 5 yelp stars from me :) read more

We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't crowded, but there were quite a few people there. I was craving Chicken Makhani like I was pregnant so I Yelped my way around the Smynings area for a suitable place. We settled on Lahore Grill and I giggled like a schoolboy over continuously telling my boyfriend we were going to Lahore Grill...with emphasis on the whore. Anyhow, the food was good and plentiful. Good food and good customer service. I work in the area and usually its my stop for lunch buffet. They do offer many vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes at very reasonable prices. Menu on buffet is always changing so you do get an opportunity to taste different delicious dishes. Location is kind of hidden but its suitable for big groups and families. read more
