I am always impressed with the selections at Tassa. The Trinidadian cuisine is authentic and made with love. Lunch options are available from and include buffet and specialties including roti and buss up shup. A variety of meats and vegetable options are offered to accommodate all diet preferences. Everything is prepared fresh and customer service was exceptional. The owner was on site and even more lovely than the pictures on display throughout the restaurant showcasing the visitors of all status that frequent Tassa. Many were notable including one from one of my favorite cooking shows! All items ordered were delicious which included a curry goat roti, a vegetarian roti and six doubles. I had heard about doubles from Trinidadian friends, but do not recall experiencing personally. The couple in line before me ordered 10 and I was intrigued! Doubles consisted of chick peas and potatoes inside of a round pastry that resembled a flattened biscuit, but with much better flavor. The filling was available in varying levels from hot to a bit sweeter. I selected a mixture of the two for my personal ones. Others I bought were hotter for my heat loving partner. Extremely popular in the Caribbean culture and now, I know why. Parking is available in the rear of restaurant, and ample dining space in two rooms. Fairly easy to miss from the road but S T O P by, they do not disappoint!! Each time the flavors just burst in every bite! Speaking only to the veggies as I'm vegan. If you can season vegetables great, I know it has to be the same for the meats. Most folks pay little or no attention to the flavoring of veggies, but they skip on zero things. HUGE FAN! Don't let the outside fool you. This is the best food I've had in a long time. I still don't really know what to order on the menu but I go in and ask for doubles and they make my life amazing. Pockets of spicy chickpeas wrapped in fresh roti our life-altering each time. I've also had the chickpea and potato curry which was amazing. Today while being in the hospital, I ordered a bone in chicken roti nd a doubles. I paid through door dash nd less than 45 minutes I received a call from the restaurant telling me that they didn't have any more doubles nd I asked her to credit my $3.45 for the missing double, the lady said she didn't know how to do that, nd that I should dispute it with DoorDash. Upon receiving my order there was not my name or my room number on the bag nor where it came from. This needs to be changed. I am not from the area, so I read most of the reviews before deciding to get food from Tassa. My granddaughter and I walking in and did not see anyone. I looked for a menu and did not see one. Then I walked around looking for someone. There was and guy sitting in the back at a table reading. I went back to the front still did not see anyone. I began to check out the food that was in the warming trays, the food did not look tasty at all it looked old and dry. I told my granddaughter that we were not getting anything from them. My granddaughter wanted to know why, I told her the food did not look appetizing for one and the main reason is that we have been there more than five minutes, and no one has even acknowledged the fact that we were there. Not good for business. Your business is not that great that you cannot even acknowledge people who come into your establishment. It was on my list, but my boyfriend, always on the hunt for new places, he felt that it will be good. We read the reviews and learned they had a buffet. Yesterday, we decided to go, but we arrived a bit too late--the buffet closes at 5 PM, and the restaurant itself closes at 6 PM. Decided to come back the following day and make sure we were on time. & it was outstanding. The service was excellent, and the food hots (temperature) . We both had two plates each. The buffet costs $20 per person. This is one of the best Caribbean restaurants I've been to in Atlanta. My favorite dishes on the buffet line were the string beans, okra, chickpeas,yams and jerk chicken. It's a perfect place to take the family for lunch or dinner. When you're missing that home-cooked meal, I highly recommend this spot. Be sure to dress comfortably because you will leave full and satisfied. Stumbled across this hidden gem and was pleasantly surprised. This was my first experience with Trinidadian food and I really liked it. I ordered the oxtails and my friend ordered the curry chicken . My oxtails were a solid 8/10 and his curry chicken was a 7/10( I'm a tough critic) but overall we both really liked it . I will say I still prefer my Jamaican oxtails better only because it's a sweeter taste but these oxtails were for sure more tender . Parking: Nice amount of parking in the back of the house. What went well? Everything! Food: delicious! Service: amazing. Ambiance: quaint. This was our first visit to Tassa and they exceeded my expectations. The owner was taking orders and manning the register. She walked us through the menu and gave us so many options to choose from. We got way too much food but it was all worth it. Even got the corn soup since we went on the weekend, and it was delectable. Whatever meal you choose, get the goat. It was tender, flavorful, just delicious. You won't be disappointed. Tassa is the best Trini food you will find in Atlanta metro area. The whole vibe is like a shoppe. (IYKYK) They make a ton of dishes everyday and have some specials on weekends. Doubles are pretty good, and sell fast. Aloo pie was okay. Everything relies on the peppa and tambrind sauce. They sell alot of Trini drinks like solo, apple j, peardrax, shandy, sorrel ans mauby. I have taken many friends and family here over the years. I use to get the buffet pre pandemic. It still looks good post pandemic but it looks like the buss up is gone . I mostly know go for a good goat or veggie roti. The meat portions are less but inflation I guess. You must get a doubles. Oh my goodness so fresh. I love this place! The food is so delicious! The jerk chicken is amazing and I would definitely come back just for that. I got the all you can eat buffet option, and I really enjoyed my food! Also, the mac & cheese was good and so were the green beans. Everyone is also very friendly. If you come at a busy time, there might be a line that can take a while. I've heard so many good things about this place and finally getting around to trying out Tassa's Roti Shop. I heard their was a location In Alpharetta but unfortunately it closed. Located along Powers Ferry Rd in Marietta. The place is small with a tight parking lot but lucky for me it was empty when I got there. I'm from Trinidad and I don't play about my Trini food do I was going with lots of skepticism. Bus up shot with mango, pumpkin, potato, channa & string beans. They were very stingy with the curry while the flavors were good I don't like dry roti. To go plate with coocoo, callaloo, pie, lentils, & cabbage the food was ok nothing to write home about. Food is good but don't call in advance and place an order over the phone when they are busy because Chris would treat you like you did something wrong when another employee tells you to skip the line and pay because your food is ready. If Chris is upset with his coworkers, he needs to deal with their issues in private and not take it out on the customers when they are spending their money. The other staff was great, But Chris (the big red man) up front needs to work in the back of the house, since he can't seem to work under pressure well. As I said the food is good but that type of treatment is unacceptable. I know for a fact if I were there with my husband that he would NOT dear be as rude and disrespectful as he was to me. It was not provoked, all I did was follow directions and pay for All my food, to not get everything I ordered and paid for, and get questioned like I was a liar after paying $60+. I really wanted to just leave the food there and get my money back. But I didn't want to go home crying telling my husband about the nasty treatment I received. But I was happy to find that this location was close to me when I opened my Yelp app!! I haven't had Trini food since I've gotten to Atlanta and this definitely satisfied my appetite. Added plus, it was a buffet. This is a small place, looks to be a house converted to a restaurant and family run. The buffet is not self served, they will add whatever you will like to your plate. I was really there for buss up shut and tamarind chutney but the jerk and stewed chicken, okra, string beans, rice and peas, curry mango was an added BONUS, lol. The food was good and what I expected. For drink I had the homemade mango and guava drink which was delicious. THE BEST Trini spot in the metro Atlanta area. Moved here from the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) in 2016. My mother is Trini and Puerto Rican and grew up in STT herself. This place reminds me of home whenever I come in. If you are looking for Caribbean style roti (buss up shut) this is where you go to get it. I've been to all the spots over in Stone Mountain and this one has them beat. It's clean (100 health score), the food is always HOT and good portion sizes, and the quality is consistent. I go here 2-3x a week and never have a bad experience with customer service, a long wait, or am I unhappy with my food that they couldn't fix. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The first place I went to as soon as I came home to Atlanta, well, my home away from my original home in Ohio but you know what I mean. Thankful to see the fish family business is still thriving even after the pandemic. The food is still delicious And well priced! They have a. Buffay that they offered for lunch for $15. All you can eat. Knowing that that's a great deal but I don't eat much, add it with the fact that you can't take what you don't finish with you it was not worth it for me. However, I enjoyed watching people going back to get served with more dishes. I selected curry, goat, rice and peas, cabbage and callaloo. It was served hot, fresh, and delicious! Can't believe I've never written a review. I love coming to Tassa's whenever I can find the time. I have only had food to go once. I always eat the buffet. Food is delicious and flavorful. I usually fill my plate with the green beans and cabbage. I love vegetables. The rice and peas are never dry. I dont eat the macaroni pie. It seems hit or miss sometimes and doesn't look appealing. Someone likes it. It's always gone. Buffet price is reasonable 9.99. Only a $1.00 increase in price since I started coming here about 10 years ago. Want fresh ginger beer? This is your place. I tried it for three first time over a year ago. I wasn't feeling well. It was a suggestion by the young man that was working here at the time. Not sure if he was the owner's son or nephew.
