What a fun experience!!…read more I've always wanted to make pasta but ok, how though. lol Francesco walked table to table in the cooking class area and showed us how to prepare the dough, put it into the pasta sheeter and prepare each type of pasta we prefer to make. Naturally, I picked the large triangle one (i had too much (not enough?) wine so I can't recall the name) but it has tasty cheese in it so I busted out the lactose pills later. Well, the experience was fun, jokes and shenanigans galore in our party of 5 as we made the dough, cut and shaped it and in my case, filled it. When we were done, Francesco collected what we made, cooked it for us, added our desired sauce and voila! It arrived at our table in our own private room. The picture uploads are kinda out of order. Wine is first, dough in the bowl, dough in a sheet, dough cut and filled and cooked pesto dish. That wine was delicious btw. I wish I got our servers name so I could give her a shout out.

The class starts by getting seared and picking your drink, so I chose a mocktail, which was refreshing. Then we wash our hands and then we knead our dough. When you watch his cable channel show, it looks like Sam just opens his frig and throws together whatever is handy. Sam the Cooking Guy DEMYSTIFIES the fine art of cooking. Painted the coin bank owl, dish, and the daisy box. I would recommend as they're thick quality pieces and the kits she provides aren't just mini cups of paint but generous paint set. It gave me piece of mind that I didn't have to worry about running out but also I had quite a few colors to choose from. I plan to do it again and make a personalized dog bowl as they can be really expensive even to personalize the mass produced ones in the store.

While many people think of exercise classes or meetings, these centers often host incredible cultural events at surprisingly affordable prices. That is exactly what I found at the La Jolla Community Center's summer concert series featuring jazz vocalist Rose Mallet. The evening was elegant without being pretentious. The concert lasted about 75 minutes and attracted a mature audience, though I couldn't help but think younger adults are missing out by not exploring the non-traditional venues. Tickets were very reasonably priced compared to many jazz performances around Southern California, making this an exceptional value.$30.00. The center also showcases artwork from local artists throughout the building, with many pieces available for purchase. A simple snack bar offers reasonably priced refreshments, with most items costing under $5. The venue is comfortable and accommodating, with plentiful restrooms, indoor seating on folding chairs, and spacious outdoor seating that includes large communal tables and smaller café-style tables. Seating is open, so arriving early is worthwhile. I arrived around 7:30 p.m. and had no trouble finding free street parking, though valet parking is also available. Most attendees dressed casually. As for me, I took the opportunity to dress like my fashionista self and the occasion is always worth it If you're looking for an inexpensive evening of live music, art, and community, don't overlook your local community center.
