We stopped by Lake Anne Brew House after our first trip to the Lake Reston Farmer's Market (love this whole area--super charming!). Nothing caps off a market morning like a fresh, craft beer, right? The cozy bar area was the perfect spot to meet up with a friend. I made a beeline for the North Shore IPA, a citrusy, hazy gem that tasted like the best way to start any day. A true breakfast beer! After that, I tried the porter on tap, which was rich and smooth. I'm definitely coming back for the Reston Red--sadly, they were out this time! The beertender was awesome, helping me choose my next drink and making us feel right at home. There's something about this place that turns everyone into instant friends.

OK - It's not the pilsner (I drank that too fast), but check out that pretzel!! What better way to enjoy a book? Beer, pretzels and sunshine

Look, anyone can make a great hazy or a hopped up IPA. All those add-ins and crazy concoctions (which I enjoy, don't get me wrong) cover up any impurities in the beer. It takes a great brewer to make a traditional style shine and the brewer at Lake Anne is a master craftsman (in my humble, uneducated except on taste buds and absolute zero credentials to make such an assertion opinion). Though I don't love all the styles they brew... *cough* barleywine *cough*...I do enjoy most of them. The lagers are clear and malty. Their ales strike a good hoppy balance and when you order a Pilsner, it tastes like a Pilsner. AND. I. LOVE. a good pilsner!!! Seriously... breweries, make me more Pilsners and Bocks and Helles! All I can say, is you get what you order and it will taste great, and I 100% stand behind that. TIP: Not a whole lot of food, but the pretzels are da bomb :) (Don't come hungry)

This is a great place but small but the beer is made on Prem and the service is great. Small is a good change from the massive chain restaurants where the noise is loud. You have to order your own beer as there is no table service but that's ok. If it's nice weather you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Lake Anne. I always order the IPA which is outstanding. Paul the bartender is great to talk to. Highly recommend

A hidden gem of Reston, Lake Anne Brew House is a great spot for a casual gathering with friends or colleagues. The selection of beers is fairly wide for a local brew house (I highly recommend the Wanderlust). There's also snack food such as pretzels, pretzel dogs and different snack boxes. The pretzels are known as the "Nordic-Knot" and are a great paring with the beer options. I have not had the pretzel dog as they only have a few per shift and sell out very quickly but I look forward to trying one during my next visit! They also serve kombucha for those who may not enjoy beer. The Brew House has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a fantastic view of Lake Anne. The outdoor seating area is even dog friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful (especially if you're stuck picking between two drinks). If you're in the area and looking for a fun yet casual place to hang out, Lake Anne Brew House is the place.

Good rotating beer selections, snacks and Lake-side ambience. Shaded outdoor deck. Very friendly service and fair prices

Possibly one of the most exciting upgrades to Lake Anne in the past few years. LABH is woman owned and totally awesome. They have great beers, many of which have names that call out super local flavor (think: Live Work Play IPA). Let's just say Bob Simon would have been a fan of this place. In addition to beer, they have many thoughtful non alcoholic options, including a rotating kombucha tap and kombucha bottles, and cans of Athletic beer. As far as food goes, they have Nordic knots (read: addictive, if pricey, pretzels), and charcuterie from The Fermented Pig. The atmosphere can't be beat--they are right on the lake! There is also a ramp going up to LABH, so it's accessible to patrons in wheelchairs and also with strollers. For COVID, they have extensive outdoor seating and staff wear masks. They even have a sign in the bathroom showing choruses you can sing in head to wash your hands the appropriate amount of time. (I picked "Lose Yourself," but next time I'll probably go with "Jolene.")

If I lived near this brewery, I'd be here all the time. This place is tucked into the first floor of a pretty nondescript multiuse community. Businesses on the bottom and two stories of apartments above. There is some indoor seating though it seemed like a lot more seating available outside. I sat by myself and enjoyed a new town funk and blister in the sun-both German style beers with good flavors. The pretzel was perfection-first off, it was massive and also lightly salted dark on the outside, chewy inside. Depending on your hunger level you could probably split one between two people. Bottom Line: Great calm brewery, easy to sit back and relax outside with a cold one!

The service was super friendly and pretty funny! Staff appeared to enjoy their job, which is pretty awesome! Since it was our first time to the brewery, we decided to get a flight to try out all of he beers. I was surprised to see Kombucha, and the option to mix Kombucha with a bet to make a shandy! Yes, please!! The blueberry Kombucha (on tap) shandy with wheat beer made the perfect combo! Honestly it was my favorite beer there! The beer was good - there were only a few that I would say needed refining and tweaking. Pretty good in comparison to the bigger brewery competitors around! The space was small, but they did have an outdoor patio space, which was kid friendly. This is a nice local spot to come to on a week night, or on a brewery tour. I'm not necessarily raving about heir beers, but they are a decent competitor for the area.

Neat spot. The beers are good and they have some authentic brewery food such as pretzels, charcuterie boards, chips, etc. The only downside is that if you're not familiar with the area, it might be hard to find. Great little spot though!

I have had poor luck with restaurants/eateries in the Lake Anne Plaza. I am glad to have found the Brew House. The outdoor patio provides the perfect atmosphere to soak in the sun and enjoy the lakefront. While basking in this, one can enjoy light snacks like the pretzel I ordered. It was average but did the job for hanging out with friends and grabbing a drink. The beer on tap can change but it offers a wide variety for such a small list. My favorite drink might have been the collaboration beer that went to help the local community. If you are looking for a chill night on the lake front, look no further than the Lake Anne Brew House!

Cool little micro brewery that is part of the Lake Anne development. If you live there this is probably a great "local bar" atmosphere option. Being relatively small they only have a few beers on tap. I thought there best was the Browns Chapel Brown Ale. Not many breweries are doing brown ales these days and those they do tend to make them too sweet. This one was very toasty and balanced. The parking situation is complicated. Hi folks, does the brewhouse take reservations? As far as food: Is the menu purely taproom style snacks? Thx!

Not quite sure about reservations but from what I recall when I went there, they had pretty much taproom style snacks. I would have to visit them again to confirm, but they did have a giant pretzel that everyone seemed to get and is very popular.… Read more

We attempted to go to the stout fest the first day and were unable to find parking and saw lines out the door at 1pm. So, we went for the second day when they opened and had no problems at all finding parking. The space is large with high ceilings and lots of tables, which they supplement with outdoor tables during good weather. There are a number of pinball machines (which only take quarters) along the wall to the right of the entrance. They were very well organized for the Stout Festival and servers were helpful with answering questions about the large number of (around 20, didn't actually count) stouts on offer. You can select a flight of 4 brews to try or go straight for a pint. Eugene's sausages are also sold here and they are outstanding. We opted for sample flights of the stouts since it was the Stout Fest, but they offer a wide variety of brew styles. All of the stouts were excellent and varied from a dry style to much sweeter. My personal favorite was the Black Forest which featured distinct notes of cherry and chocolate, as the name suggests. If you love beer you might just find your new favorite here. Highly recommend.

Rather than ordering through a QR code, place your order at the bar and then you'll get a text alert when the food is ready for pick-up at the long table closest to the bar. The line is always pretty short and you can get a drink within 5-10 min, the food takes longer and even up to 1/2 hour for fries. I would stick to the beer on draft, the cocktails can be hit/miss depending on the bartender, the draft drinks tend to have better consistency. The Wildberry Mule cocktail and Pina Colada Sangria and Peach Seltzer on draft were my picks while the Bourbon Smash, Passionfruit Mojito, Pina Colada Mojito, and the Passionfruit Seltzer were misses. On the flip side, the bartenders poured a generous amount of Prosecco for Mimosas, much appreciated! The bottled Angry Orchard apple cider is generally my go-to. There's always a mocktail on the menu (came in handy when I was pregnant!) The new battered fries are so much better than last year! The menu is limited with simple bar food (bbq pulled pork sandwich, burger, grilled cheese, hot dog, fries, kettle chips). Wish there were more vegetarian options like charcuterie board, hummus and crackers, nachos, mac and cheese, etc. While I give credit for having a Veggie Burger on the menu, it's sad and disappointing. It has a very smoky meaty flavor (from the grill, not the patty) with lackluster toppings - the vegan cheese is disgusting. I would swap out the kettle chips and pay the upcharge for fries. The doughy pretzel sticks are quite salty and a step up from the movie theater. They are good for absorbing the alcohol! Despite these minor complaints, I love coming here with family and fries. So glad The Perch opened up, Starr Hill Biergarten is a great spot to kick back and relax with a beer or 2!
