Bike Lane Brewing Café -- 9/10 Such a cute spot with a really nice, laid-back atmosphere! I had a cup of wine and really enjoyed it. The service was great too -- everyone was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. My favorite part is definitely how cyclist-friendly this place is. I LOVE that you can access it right from the bike trail, which makes it such a perfect stop during or after a ride. Great atmosphere, great service, and such a cool concept. Contrary to what the top review for Bike Lane would suggest, this micro-brewery does not offer beer flights at all. The service the few times we've popped by (mainly for coffee) has been questionable. Customer service is definitely not a priority. Coffee was excellent so I'll prolly pop by again while at Skatequest. I'd be interested in trying the food too. They have sandwiches and pho (apparently). read more

I stopped in for post dance recital sustenance, but if I was a a biker on a hot summer day, I would think that Bike Lane Brewing and Cafe would be the perfect spot to rest my legs, fuel up, and hang out with some friends. Located right off the W&OD trail, Bike Lane is part bike shop, part cafe. They offer lots of local brews, coffee (Swings!), pastries, and a selection of amazing looking hot sandwiches. There is seating inside and out, with a few covered tents and games for guests to play. Our barista was super friendly and our drinks came out fast and good. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

This is a very unique spot with coffee, beer, and a bike store all in one. The server was very nice and the drink was made in a few mins. I like how there's both indoor and outdoor seating, and their bathrooms are clean. I got the dirty chai where I could definitely taste the espresso. Über cool bike shop which also serves coffee, brews their own beer and has food - on this day they were offering cheddar cheese grilled cheese sandwiches or locally made pho. The beer was quite tasty - I'm not really into beer and even I liked it! Loved our sandwiches and the vibe. My husband is an avid cyclist and enjoyed chatting with the employees and purchasing some merch. read more

Saw this bike shop and cafe while in town for business and knew I had to stop by. I am in my new "happy place". Bikes and Beer! I got a grilled cheddar cheese sandwich and one of their IPAs. Both were delicious. Of course, I had to also do some shopping at the bike shop itself. The staff is super-friendly and helpful. read more

We came here this afternoon for a music benefit supporting Bike for MS. I brought two kids and a dog, and found a spot under an umbrella picnic table that gave us a little shade from the blazing sun. Music setup was very good, great people and a great vibe. I went inside to get some drinks for the kids, and even though two other kids at our tables just got full cups of lemonade they must have been the last ones because they were sold out moments later when I went to buy a few for my kids. No iced tea, no lemonade, so I went with ice water. The gentleman working the counter offered the kids a chocolate muffin on the house as an apology for running out of kid-friendly refreshments, which I appreciated! They had 4-5 beers on tap that looked very refreshing, and I would have tried one if I didn't have to drive. People seated around us said they were very tasty. They offered an array of coffee and tea barista-style drinks too, but it was way too hot outside for that. Cute little venue for bikers and non-bikers alike, esp with the courtyard and live music. Tasty! The other ales were a little on the soft side from a flavor profile perspective. An oasis! If you're trudging along in a desert with no sign of water and then you have out of nowhere a small store with shade, a relaxing ambience, basic food, and cold water/great beer and friendly honest service that charges little...wouldn't you want that!? That's what bike lane is...I'm often riding on the W&O trail and thirsty/famished...this is the perfect place to chill in a non-pretentious way when you've done the tough, long miles on your bike riding the W&O trail...for me the go-to beer style here is their hazy NE IPA...it's perfect and matches good brews from Aslin. They have a very good kolsch on tap too. Oh and if you have some basic issues with your bike..they often help out with no charge...an honest business and great people working there. The Bike Lane is just one of those things I don't get. Dozens of 5-star reviews. It's always crowded with customers. Popular place. Fixes bikes an serves coffee and beer. Conveniently located on the W&OD. Sounds great! I spent 3 days of my life with the Bike Lane, that I'll never get back, and got virtually nothing for it in return. What I did get was multiple stories from several uninformed people, poor customer service, missed commitments and one minor repair of the 5 or 6 things I needed serviced. Day 1 - Stopped just to see how they work - do I need an appointment or just wait in line. Waited in line outside - social distancing in effect - for a few minutes before one of the staff came out and gave me the lay of the land. It's the latter. And, he told me the best times to come; between the first and last hour they're open. Cool. Day 2 - Showed up with 2 bikes 1 1/2 hours after open (1:30p) - one needed a flat repaired. The other, I requested investigation of a slow leak and skip when pedaling under load and a routine tune up since I ride a lot. I was 3rd in line. Then the odyssey began. I got asked by 4 different people what I needed, explained it and got 4 different responses on what would happen next - "no room to store the bikes so you'll have to wait on them". Cool. "It's going to take 2 days". What? "You'll have to wait on them. "Don't know how long it's going to take". Really? Drop them off and we'll call you by the end of the day to let you know what will be needed and cost. OK. . . After waiting a couple of hours, occasionally get skipped over for newly-arriving people (I'd been in line so long they figured I'd been help. Thanks Ward for actually listening), they fixed the flat on the one bike and did a work order on the 2nd. Paid and took the repaired bike home and awaited a call. Nothing. Day 3 - Still no call. Stopped in an hour before closing to inquire about my bike. After a 20 min wait, a young guy comes up to help. Explain my situation, he checks and can't find my bike. Wow. Checks again and finally locates it. Explains it's next after mechanic worked through a backlog of 14 bikes that were ahead of mine. Then, he explains someone would call me the next day (recall - can't store the bikes but now I'm looking at 2-day storage of my bike) with an estimate of the work my bike needed. He goes on to say based on the mechanic's notes he saw, my bike needed a major overhaul of the drivetrain. I've been riding my bike 20 miles/day about 2x per week. I had enough. Collected my bike and got out of there. I'll find another shop. Maybe it's just me. BL seems to get rave reviews. My repeated poor customer experience at Bike Lane, however left me with the following impressions: - If you're interested in buying a bike, they'll get you into the shop immediately. I saw that happen while I was in line on Day 2. - Unclear to me why a woman was able to walk up, leave, return and get helped before me. And, she stood in the shade. Not in line. - A lot of helpers but very few people who actually do the work - All of the staff is complaining about how busy they are (go figure) due to the pandemic but the real issue is management. The workflow seems inefficient, not enough people actually doing work, several people just walking around acting busy (sales vs. repair?), no one knows the actual workload of the one or 2 techs who are actually making repairs, misaligned staffing (I learned on day 3 that the only guy who actually did something for me typically works in the coffee/beer shop that is a part of the bike shop) - The Wednesday crew (Day 3) is more capable than the Tuesday crew (Day 2). Unclear why. - If you call, they won't answer and they don't return voicemail because they're too busy being inefficient. - If you have a simple issue i.e. fix a flat, adjust brakes, change a piece of equipment - you're good. Anything beyond that, forget it. Bottom, bottom line - nice enough people but the shop is poorly managed and inefficient resulting in a poor customer experience. read more

Simple as ABC. Combine alcoholic brews, bicycles and coffees with an absolutely friendly knowledgeable staff and you have a winning combination that is taking the nation by storm. Bike Lane BC is a great example of a business within a business that draws interest and builds community for one another. Definitely a place to (responsibly) build a bike or a buzz. read more

After a discouraging experience at another local bike store, I stopped in here on a busy Sunday and received outstanding service. Adam helped walk me through all the options and identify the bike I really wanted. Most impressive of all is they did not try a sell me an in stock bike which was slightly too big for me. I stopped in again today and Tom took great care of me. All of the sales people really seemed to care about me getting the right bike and accessories not just making a sale but gaining a loyal customer. read more

We stopped in on a beautiful Saturday after seeing a few great reviews on Yelp. While we aren't serious bikers, we do enjoy a bike ride now and then and we REALLY like beer. This place did not disappoint. It's a full fledged bike shop, with a little cafe in the corner. Don't let this deter you - yummy beer, great outdoor patio and some great healthy snack/meal options which is a welcomed site! read more
