We had a teetime here around noonish on a Saturday in mid-April. This course was widely discussed amongst local peers and my friend as one of the better golf courses in the DFW area. Upon checking in and paying the $72 green fare, I had wonders about if the course lived up to the price. It kind of does but barely. The course is maintained pretty well although there's a few holes with a bit of wear and tear in the tee boxes and the green as a result of either poor shoes or mishandled clubs. Fairways are in excellent shape with the grass freshly cut. Some of the holes are a blast to play such as the 8th hole and hole 14 from what I can remember. Also the cart girl came by regularly to serve us beverages and keep us hydrated. Also, credit to the staff here for their customer service. One of the members took me in their cart to the end of the first hole where my teeing party was. This was due to me arriving about 15 minutes after the teetime due to getting stuck in traffic. While embarrassed, I appreciate their attitudes and getting me to my party quickly so I could play. While 72$ is steep for a Saturday, I would play here again next time I'm in the DFW area. read more

My company sponsored a golf tournament at Lake Arlington in May. We had an absolute blast. The course played really well, the staff was super friendly. The course is beautiful and well maintained, especially the back nine. My only gripe was that they had two par fives back to back on the back line. Other than that, great course! read more

I need to give credit when credit is due. I've been playing this course off and on for 25+ years. It has certainly had its ups and downs (like all courses), but I was certainly impressed with the course today. This review is regarding my round on 7/27/2025. First of all, the $52 weekend green fees are certainly reasonable compared to the going rate at a variety of DFW courses. I found my golf cart to be in pretty good shape, and it had the yardage/GPS screens included. I've paid plenty more than that at other courses without the GPS perk. There were also additional storage cubbies near the roof of the cart. The staff was great. I wasn't two steps into the clubhouse and was greetly nicely by the staff. The cart girl came around at least 4 times during the round, which was welcomed in this Texas heat. I can tell there has been some money and work poured into the course recently (maybe the last year or few years). All of the cart paths were smooth, and the areas surrounding tee boxes/fairways are "kept up" a lot more than I remember. Sightlines have improved (for example, blue tee box on 7 to the green looks great; tee box on 4 to the fairway is a more player-friendly angle/view than it used to be). The fairways were in great shape (especially with the heat they are exposed to and compared to several other DFW courses at this time). The greens were rolling really well too. This course has some strong/fun tests, including the 220 yard, downhill par 3 next to the Lake Arlington dam; the down-and-up dogleg right par 4 12th; the 8th hole where you can try and drive over the trees for an easier 2nd shot. The course is also friendly as there are zero sand bunkers, and I can't recall any forced carries. To sum it up, I'd say this is course is one of the best values in DFW. For $52 (weekend rate), you'd be hard pressed to show me another course that can hold up to the value in Lake A's hole variety, solid conditions, and friendly staff... and don't forget the GPS! Came here for an early afternoon tee time and the initial experience was great, easy to get our cart and check in. It started going down hill when our cart started dying mid round and when we found out they didn't serve or have any shots available after we just sunk a 20ft putt know we earned that shot lol. Id go back because the greens are fast and the course is pretty clear of obstructions. read more

Meh golf course. Liked the cafe, and the greens seemed kept up. Only reason it gets two stars. Lemme tell y'all about the experience. Went to spectate as my high school daughter had a tournament there. Unfortunately their cart rentals are insanely overpriced. Daughter was half way through the tourney and on the other side of the golf course, would've taken us 20 minutes to get there and by then, she would've been on the opposite side or almost done!! So to save time we rented a golf cart, $35. Seriously? Way to gauge the parents!! Had no choice if I wanted to see her play. The guy behind me in line said there's no way that's justifiable. He walked out pretty upset. This is the third golf course I've been to to watch her play. The other two, $15 to rent a cart, AND they were fancy and had gps and stuff. This was just a run down, couldn't even go over 15 mph golf cart. So yes, they were taking advantage. Plus the guy was rude and annoyed that I even questioned it. What a jip!!! Looking at their prices in the restroom...so if I would've signed up for a whole round of golf, it would've been $5 more. Seriously...GTFOH. read more

I was in town for a guys trip. This was 1 of 3 courses (least expensive) and our least favorite. Course was in good condition. We had a 10:24 tee time and didn't get off until almost 10:45. It was backed up all day and resulted in a very slow round. It is a very tight course. Many of the fairways are nearly on top of each other and tee boxes are very close to previous greens. When you are not a great golfer this can be very frustrating. Lots of holes that people were playing across each other to get back in their fairways. They had a beverage cart which was nice given that when I went inside on the turn, there was no one at the counter for several minutes so I didn't get a chance to grab anything. If I were back in town for another guys trip, probably not a course I would go back to. read more

I have been to this course many times. I have been a spectator & player - every time I play here, the Marshalls approach to say my group isn't keeping pace, which is ridiculous. We are always on pace for 18 holes in 4 - 4 1/2 hours. When I'm spectating with men - the holes can be stacked up, men taking multiple shots from the tee box, cutting up, etc. but when I'm playing, I am always harassed about pace regardless of how quickly my group is playing. I will never play this course again. I'm a 51 year resident of Arlington & I've watched this course get away with being sexist, rude, and overall crappy to people for the last time. Do yourself a favor ladies - play Mansfield, Riverside, or Prairie Lakes- they appreciate your business & will let you enjoy the game. read more

Okay course, TERRIBLE experience! We played as a foursome today - three ladies and one fella. We were watched at four out of five of the initial holes and approached twice about our pace of play. On hole five, as we were about to hit our second shots, at 55 minutes into the round, we were approached by one of the marshals AGAIN. He asked us to "do them a favor"...they have orange tees set up on each hole (juniors tees) and asked if "[us] ladies" would play from those. Each of us had just teed off from the main tee (yellow here, typically white) and hit 180+ yards and, again, at 55 minutes here our pace of play was not slow. We had also just spoken to the group behind us (pulling up to the 4th green as we teed off from 5) to see if we were holding them up; they confirmed we were not. We finished the front 9 in under 2 hours and the round in 4 hours and 2 minutes. I spoke with one of the marshals at the turn about the experience and he seemed shocked that we felt their request was sexist and rude, as it was directed at all of us ladies. If they were actually watching us like they said they were, they would have known that 1) asking us to move to the forward tees was a more appropriate request and 2) there was nothing wrong with our drives, nor was our pace slow. Now, I look back and see that several others have had poor experiences with their marshals. It's shocking that after numerous reviews, the city would continue to allow this kind of behavior. They are happy to make your experience a miserable one. Just steer clear and enjoy yourself at ANY other course in the metroplex...even if it means mini golf :) read more

RUDE AND SEXIST MARSHALS: The course itself is decent, this review is strictly related to the marshals. Within the first five holes, we were watched by the marshals at least five times, and spoken to twice, despite the fact that we were ahead of the pace of play AND had spoken to the foursome behind us to make sure we weren't holding them up. In fact, the second marshal we encountered told us that "us ladies need to be playing from the orange junior tees," without even seeing us play. We had one man in our group but he was not addressed. Mind you, all three of us can drive over 200 yards. We continued to play from the regular tees, and reported the harassment at the turn. Oh, and we finished nine in an hour and 51 minutes, by the way. Long story short - good golf, horrible staff. Do not recommend playing here, especially other women! It's 2022, this is not just a man's game anymore. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could! In the middle of playing the front 9, one of the pro shop employees came up in the middle of the green to us, did not announce who he was, and told us we were over the minimum pace for front 9 and we needed to "pick it up" Okay well we are not golf professionals but there was 4 of us. We kept up with others. Also I'd like to note there was not anyone close behind us, when there was, we let them pass. We aren't idiots, we are respectful. Once we let the 2 guys behind us pass, he had told us he wasn't in a hurry nor waiting on us. Super unprofessional the way the golf employee handled it. Next time try, "hey guys if are going a little slower, just keep an eye out and let people pass" If you're going to set a time limit expectation, how about tell the players up front before they pay $200! So note to others, if you aren't a PGA pro and can't golf in their expected time limit DO NOT GOLF HERE! We won't be back! read more

The employees in the club house. The head pro is a arrogant jerk. They had no cart girl or service at the snack bar. The carts were a mess. Haven't been to Lake Arlington in 15+ years, but my son invited me out to play this morning. Arrived at 8 am thinking he had secured an 8:20 tee time. group at the counter had seven people in the group. four players, three needed rental clubs and three spectators. Guy at the counter takes care of them, then I step up. Gave my name and the 8:20 time. No tee time, my son says we should move the time back to 8:44 since he's running late and that time is open online. The guy at the counter tells me to wait until he gets to the course cause his tee times are booked. 8:35 son and grandson arrive. We go to check in, same guy asks my son who is standing in front of me with my grandson if he can help him. "We would like to get on your wait list". How old is the little guy. He is four. Spectators on all Arlington courses must be 10 or older. Can't let you on the course with him. Well we aren't going to leave him in the car of clubhouse so we aren't playing here. Very rude attitude both times I went in. Heard another group say "guy in there is pretty salty", so it just isn't us. I won't go back to Lake Arlington ever again. My son, (a golf coach at Golftec) said the same thing. I had my son out teaching him golf at the age of six. This guy/course has a problem the city of Arlington needs to address. read more

This course looked fairly straight forward until we started to play. Then we realized that this little gem of a course is kinda tricky and we had better be on our game. As usual, it was in our best interest to stay in the fairway because the first cut of grass was often deeper than it appeared and cost is time when searching for balls. (I only lost one that day but found about half a dozen.) The greens and their fringes were wet from a heavy rain that started just before we teed off on #1 and ended before we started #3. But overall we had a decent round and look forward to playing this course again. read more

If you are late for your tee time, the rest of the tee sheet should not be on hold waiting for you to show up. This is the most ridiculous start to what is going to be a very long round. People, listen for your name to be called. If you check in after your tee time, you should lose your tee time and they can try to work something out but not get presidence. Effing cluster. It must be something in their training, but every staff member seems to be combatant with the golfers. If you want an average golf course with little character it's OK. If you want to be treated like a respected, paying customer then stay away. They have the old school attitude that they are "allowing" you to play their mediocre course. read more
