This is always a fun but challenging track. We always enjoy coming out. We all were surprised by…read morethe condition of the greens. We play golf every week at various courses around the metroplex and found the greens at Tangle Ridge to be hands-down the worst we have experienced in quite some time. The amount of Poana on the greens made putting difficult as your ball would pinball off the Poana grass. Once the weather warms up, they will be able to solve the Poana problem, but I would not try playing it again until after the middle of June.

Spent 9 hours and 36 holes here this weekend and had a GREAT time! The greens are borderline…read morenovelty hard, contributing to a steeeeep slope of 135. Still, the course is laid out well and has plenty of interesting twists and turns. The snack shack, importantly, is centrally located and you pass it 3 times throughout the round, allowing you ample opportunity to consume $2.50 Shiner Bocks. Tiffany was cooking up brats and it smelled like it does when you leave Home Depot! She is the perfect person for that position. She's a sweetheart! Samuel in the clubhouse took care of us as we played some extra holes not wanting the day to end. They have a $8.95 brunch buffet on Sunday that had non-golfers in there taking advantage of a great breakfast spread. I understand it's under new management, good job new management...

Interesting "Hill Country" style course. A little remote from Fort Worth/Metroplex, but…read moreintriguing. Condition is generally good, but terrain can be brutal with a lot of elevation changes, blind shots and wind issues on the hilltop fairways. Course also looks, feels and plays longer than the scorecard shows. Recently added on-cart gps is a nice addition. Only problem is that the gps constantly harps at you to stay on cartpaths-even when you are on the cartpaths Also, the carts will shut down at the slightests cartpath infraction. VERY ANNOYING Clubhouse is rather tired, but......green fees are generally affordable. Crosstimbers is definitely worth a try if you are up for a drive in the country.

We arrived with a group of 6 and gained permission from the front desk and Marshall to play together. The course was not busy at all and we were playing a good pace. we let everyone who caught up to play through. Around hole 9 we were approached by a bald headed manager who met us with nothing but attitude, disrespect, and was absolutely unprofessional. The entire interaction was just him yelling at us, not hearing us out and denying anything we had to say. This ruined the rest of the holes we were playing and killed the mood hard. What a horrible first experience. Safe to say will not be returning to this course. As a manager you should know better.

It's a very open course - there is a good amount of holes that have water hazards which stinks but - there are no traps so - win-win?? But this is a classic Texas-style course; open, flat, little brush, dry grass, greens that play extremely fast but all in decent enough shape that you'll have a nice day here. Nice clubhouse, carts work well. We did leave a phone in a cart, called about it, they said they would check. Called again, said they checked and didn't find it. We knew where it exactly was and told them specifically. We got frustrated, drove back, ran to the cart we had used - thank god we knew the number - and the phone was right there. So - no idea why someone couldn't check for us even when we told them exactly where to find it. Maybe too busy checking their phones?

Next, the trash left on the course brought out the rats. Water is full of empty bottles, wrappers, and there's no drinking water on the course. What really sets the place apart though is everything around the golf.
