Early one morning, I experienced a catastrophic brake failure on my F-150 while heading to fish Lake Michigan. I reached out to several towing companies on Yelp, but none were available on a Sunday. Thankfully, Lake County Towing came through when I needed them most. I left my truck key in a secure spot, and they promptly towed it to the nearest Ford dealership. When they arrived, they found there was no place to drop it off, so they brought it back to their shop for safekeeping. The next morning, we coordinated another tow to Frankfort, IL, where the truck was repaired. I can't say enough good things about Angel and his team--they were professional, kind, and incredibly helpful after such a scary experience losing all brakes on I-294 North. A small hose broke on my way off the turn pike. The driver arrived quickly and towed me to the mechanic. He pulled the hose for me, and even went to auto zone and bought a new one with clamps. He would not accept my offer to pay him extra. This kind jester saved me a lot of time and money. One of the mechanics came out and attached the parts in the parking lot, made sure there was no leaking afterwards. I cannot say thank you enough for the amazing services and his kindness. read more

The reason our car got towed is obviously our fault but the lady running the Waukegan location is a piece of work. Very rude and unprofessional, to say the least. She had her mom on the phone while taking care of us. She kept asking us for any type of identification and we repeatedly told her that the wallet is INSIDE the car. We had a release form from the police station and she questioned it and laughed because the officer had given it to us without identificationThey can look us up in the system). I gave the police station a call to verify that we had gotten the release form from them and she suddenly let us pay to pick up the car and verbatim said, "calling them was unnecessary." Told her to mind her own dang business. Laughing at a legal release form is unnecessary. Wishing you don't have to deal with this woman. Good luck read more

I highly recommend not using this company based on how their drivers drive. I recently was in an accident with one of their drivers. The driver rear-ended me which puts him at blame. He wanted to blame me for "slamming on my brakes". He is at fault and may have totalled my car. If this company hires people like that then I recommend not using them. read more

This company is a scam! My daughter was in a car accident, they quickly towed my car to their lot. Their lot was 5 miles down the road, charged my $271 for the tow and $45 for storage. I was never asked if I wanted the car towed and where I wanted the car towed to. They also gave me an extremely hard time to even get my car back- but were quick to continue to charge me storage, yet they would not release my car to me. read more

Rip off people that lie and will steal you car parked in a parking lot over night, because of a mechanical failure even when there sign is posted in a (dead dark area that the average person would not see), and why would you notice that, when the only thing on your mind is how your going to get home at midnight. There sign says if your car is unattended for over 24 hours, and ours was tow away in now more that 8 hours. After contacting this people, we were told that they didn't have our, while there flat bed truck sits in the mall parking lot. We contacted the local police and was advised that the owner of this business was a real Bitch, and that break the laws all the time. There fees are $275.00 for the hook-up, plus daily fees, and they rack up the days, saying that you car is not here, when it is. Advice from the local Police department, call them if this happens again. They will leave a note on your car, and hopefully these dumb people will leave your car alone so you can get it towed. read more

The only reason they get a star at all is because they tow 24/7 and someone always answers the phone.... My experience with this company was terrible!!!! They towed my car on Saturday night. I called and asked for it to be released, they said I had to wait till Monday. I said ok. I called at 10:53am to double check that they were open because today was a holiday and that I had the necessary things to get the car out because I live over an hour away. They had been closed since the time my vehicle was towed so I wasn't expecting to receive ANY sort of storage fees... When I called back at 12:59 to asked how much it would be, I was informed that a $45 storage fee was added AT NOON!!! The middle of the day! The first day I could have gotten the car out! AND THEN they tell me I could have gotten it out Saturday night for an extra $75... I asked that SATURDAY NIGHT AND WAS TOLD NO! I was very upset by this... Then the lady tells me that it's cheaper this way... SERIOUSLY?! You could have told me when I called the first time, you were going to charge me a storage fee and I would have made plans to come get the vehicle sooner! She says I didn't ask her about fees... oh ok so I didn't make it clear that I was coming to get the vehicle TODAY and making sure I was the right person to do so but no need to tell me how much it cost so you can charge me extra?!?! Oh, and NO IT WASN'T CHEAPER... Having to have my husband drive out there Saturday night to come get me, back home (over an hour away) then BACK OUT THERE TODAY and back hone... When I could have just gotten the vehicle Saturday night and been done!!! Bad and shady business... Dealing in technicalities to get people out of more money!!! read more

I called for a jump start, and even though I was at a prominent location right off the major highway, just over a mile from their location, the lady who took my call seemed to have no idea where it was. Then she quoted me a price almost double what I expected to pay. I called another place more than twice as far away, and they charged me just over half as much and were on site in about 30 minutes -- during rush hour. I now have The Other Place saved in my phone, in case I need them again! read more
