If you live in Mundelein this is the only shop I would recommend! I've owned cars for many years and I've had them fixed for as many years. Before I came to this shop, my idea of an automotive repair shop was a dim and dirty place with oil on the floor. There's usually a small TV somewhere with old chairs around it. This place is top notch! They have a big clean waiting room with a big screen TV and free WiFi internet. I actually thought that this was a franchise business since the employees wear nice polo's with company logo and everything is professional. I was told about their customer appreciation program where for every dollar you spend you get a "CarMedix mile", once you have enough of these miles you can redeem them for free services like brakes and oil changes. The service I've been provided is bar none! The prices are fair and the automobile is fixed on time when promised. They also have a full body shop and a small dealership. My RX8 was keyed in a train parking lot a few years ago and I took it here on my brother's recommendation. I'm very glad I did. Carmedix did extensive panel replacement and paint, resulting in an absolutely beautiful finished product. They perfectly matched the rare original color and replaced the 3M clear bra, as well as detailing my car inside and out before I picked it up. All the panels were perfectly aligned and the car was absolutely brand new. This happened two months after I had switched to Geico and it was an almost $5000 comprehensive claim. I was understandably worried about getting everything taken care of by Geico, but CarMedix took care of everything. I dropped my car off and a week later it was ready. They even arranged for a rental and did all the work of talking to Geico and getting everything approved and covered. I have since recommended them without hesitation and they've done body and paint work on three of my friends' cars, one of whom is extremely particular. CarMedix consistently has some of the lowest prices you can find and more importantly does extremely good work. I've definately not seen a better bodywork value. read more

Although these people seem to provide a top notch service they are also known to lie about what kind of repairs you need. They were expanding their building and parking lot during the recession. Although you may think I am negative my experience with these people was quite negative. I was told that I can get free oil changes there. When I brought my car in I waited for 2 hours only to get a bill for $1,000 for what turned out to be unnecessary repairs. After I decided to leave and get a second opinion I found out that they didn't even change my oil. I was mad and then the customer service person there had the gall to be rude to me and tell me that he did not lie to me when he clearly stated that they changed my oil. My parents still take their car there but I am trying to convince them that they are not to be trusted. For all of you reading this please get a second opinion before you pay these people with your hard earned(maybe) money. read more

Paul is amazing and is always willing squeeze me in unexpectedly! I am leaving for the holiday week and traveling 5-6 hours. I recently had car repairs done after an accident. My point of contact at the shop was Doug - he's a great guy and answered all my questions and didn't mind several calls to check on my car. When I got it back it looked brand new! I noticed that the outside temperature wasn't showing on the dash so I took it back and they looked at it right away. In 20 minutes, it was fixed and I was on my way. Overall great service and I'd definitely recommend this shop! read more

Theft! Stole my iPod while they had my car. Then denied everything. Direct quote, "You can't prove we stole it." I won't go back. Don't trust a place that won't take responsibility. Also, didn't care for their rude attitude. The guy actually started yelling at me when I asked them to replace what was taken. The other reviews are right that the waiting area is above average, but learn from my experience. I was rear ended by someone that had Progressive ins. Had my bumper supposedly fixed. Looked like they fixed it. To find out later that the frame was bent and they did not fix it properly. They left loose, broken pieces that rattled. Looked underneath to see that the bumper was not re-attached to the frame as it should be. They took short cuts and did not fix my frame properly. I shouldn't have to double check their work. Can't trust them. Extremely disappointed. read more

I wanted to say 'thank you' to the carmedix owner Steve and his staff for helping us in the situation that we were when our car needed repair. I have a VW Toureg and one day my hood was not opening, so we took the car to the Carmedix for repair. Besides the point that it took them 1,5 to open it bc the latch that connected to the hood was broken, when it came time to pick it up, I threw my back off and could not pick it up on time , so Paul (service dept manager) arranged the driver to drop off my car at my house!!!! This shop quoted me a repair date and then was 4 days late costing me extra money in rental fees. They said they would reimburse me by have yet to do so and they never have a manager or owner available to discuss the issue. I have left multiple messages about the situation without any replies. They further did a bad repair - my electrical system is malfunctioning and the alignment is off! read more

Based upon the rave reviews, I took my car to this place for they provide both mechanical & body work. Only thing I can honestly say is that their mechanical side is worth a visit, but their Body shop is full of BS. It took these clowns 5 weeks for body work, and they lie about their work and upcharge. Again, their mechanical side is decent, but the body shop, you're better off going elsewhere. read more

Bought the car from their dealership recently. I ask them to diagnose the car after the purchase. They said that the car is in more than perfect condition, however there some problems which could be fixed for 700$ what is more way higher comparing to other shops. I was sure that everything should be ok and payed the amount, but the car started to fall apart within 4 weeks. Mechanical problems occurred one from another and everything was really expensive to repair. I checked the car in 2 other shops and both confirmed that the car was sold in horrible condition and only the blind person cant see the problems and they don't even understand what was done with the car.
