2.5 stars My lastest order did not go as smoothly as the previous one. I went in December, had the exam and had a bit of difficulty when making the payment. It was not taking my payment which they said they would call me for to get the payment issue resolved. A good two plus weeks during the holidays go by and no call back so I called to check on the order. That's when they take the missing payment, telling me the order was not fulfilled due to this and me thinking that perhaps the payment had finally gotten processed, was done. Nope. A delay. Another few weeks go and I call... I get told that insurance denied it due to another customer who has the same name and birthday as me, so they are going to contact them and try it again. More weeks go by and I call yet again. Get told the same thing so I ask of the other person has a middle initial, they do not whereas I do. They try again and it seems that the error has been corrected. Again, I am waiting. I called back several days later and get told that the glasses should be here last week. Nope. It isn't until today, 02-17 that they are finally here. Why did I need to be calling so constantly for updates? Why was this issue with the other person not easily resolved since it's obvious we are not the same person? They have a variance which is easy to see with the middle initial which is displayed in my name. The glasses fit well but this last situation has put a dent in my confidence with the service. I was told the issue was now a delay with VSP, which is my vision caretaker so now I don't know where the error truly lay. read more

This was the best eye appointment I've ever had. The staff was amazing. Sometimes you can go to an office and the front staff can be rude but they were not. They were extremely nice. I saw Dr. Charnell and he has an amazing sense of humor. He was very thorough with me. He answered every question I had and he was patient. In the past I've dealt with not so patient Doctors but Dr. Charnell was the total opposite. When you ask him questions he explains in detail so you can understand. I like things broken down to me and he did that. He didn't use all the big fancy words to try and confuse me. At the end when it was time to choose my glasses my options were explained very well. The young lady who helped me broke everything down about my benefits. There was no confusion at all. This was overall an amazing experience. They have a great selection of frames to choose from. The staff there continues to lie. They are always saying they've left me messages. But yet I get messages from everyone else. This is not the first time they've said they left me a message but didn't. I've been going to them since 2015. Had problems from the beginning. Took a pair of prada frames in I got to have them adjusted just after I got them. They broke them. Then this last frames I got. Another Prada. The lenses I got was supposed to be smudge proof. I let them know they was hard to keep clean with in 6 months. They said they had to switch labs because of some issues with lenses they got there. So they ordered me new lenses. They did call and say they was I. But did not say there was a time frame to pick them up as we recently lost a baby. So I called to make a appointment and to have the new lenses put in and they sent them back and will not be putting the good lenses in. So my husband and I will be taking our business elsewhere. And I will be seeking money back on these defected lenses. And I'll be calling my insurance as well! Do not go to these people if you want reliable and honest people.... read more

We have the VSP eye plan and found out that the big box stores don't qualify. Only private providers come under the VSP plan. That brought us to Lake Howell Eye. Outstanding service, quality people really interested in us as people first. Great exam by Dr. Pham . She covered everything and probably the most thorough exam I ever had. Glasses selection is smaller than the big box store but good enough for us. The fitting process was flawless and smooth, we got our glasses in a week. Since I have trifocals, that seems to be the standard. I highly recommend checking this practice out, they will get big and deservedly so. A mixed review: I went to Lake Howell after reading another review online that rated them as being 'okay' after verifying they were one of the fewer offices towards my area who would take my EyeMed insurance plan, seemed to have a good array of lenses and frames, and physicians who may give a good exam. My insurance processed through fine and there were no issues or concerns with that. Their selection of frames on the walls is not huge but when I asked if there were more frame options to choose from they pulled out a lot more (about 18). My advice is if you find a style or brand you like definitely ask to see what else is available - this is how I found my frames which I love (and finding frames that you love can be hard with glasses). Make sure you set a budget for them so they know what they are looking for in terms of price and in turn pick an appropriate selection. I had already decided upon my lens options after reviewing my insurance coverage and researching online what I wanted in terms of durability, comfort, cost, etc. Ordering my glasses was quick and painless and they took about 10 days to come in which is the expectation that they set when I ordered so there were no surprises. They are not going to have your glasses in an hour, but you are ordering a quality product so it will take time. The glasses are made well and I was looking for a quality product that was worth my investment and one that I would not regret, one that I was not going to be embarrassed about wearing, and one that would last a while. I highly recommend Dr. Pham. My exam was so quick and painless that I have to say I doubted Dr. Pham at first when she told me she was changing my prescription because the astigmatism was in fact in my other eye. She also told me my glasses were a little too strong; I thought my glasses might be too weak. We talked about what I was having trouble seeing and she asked me to try the prescription as she had written to see if it helped and if not we could re-visit it. I filled the prescription as written and have not seen so well in years, I am truly impressed and thankful for the corrections she made. About the negative: I would not recommend anyone else to help you pick frames or adjust then other than Ariana. When I initially ordered my glasses and had them fit I was lucky to have dealt with her although I worked briefly with someone else prior, who was unsatisfactory and was more into brand names then wearing glasses for function, fit, and flattery. Ariana really helped me pick out glasses that met my needs and fit my style which were in my budget - and it was quick too, as in maybe 5 minutes. And when picking and ordering them as well as after they came in I talked to her about the things that made glasses uncomfortable to me (rubbing against my mastoid and the swelling and pain caused by it as well as sinus pain) and my need for them since I cannot wear contacts. She explained that it was all in the fit and made sure I was satisfied, which I have not been in many years with wearing glasses...although like many people I need them to see more then about 18 inches away. After all this time, energy, effort and money my glasses should be perfect, right? The exam is good, the prescription is good, the frames are good, the fit was better than I've ever had. Well I have been waiting for that great day to return to write this review but I no longer want to wait. Unfortunately they are poorly shaped and fitted because I talked to the wrong person during an adjustment shortly after purchase (about 2-3 months), and they are currently less than 6 months old so I have not had them long enough to be for this to be an acceptable issue. They are titanium rimless glasses so my hopes of them being corrected after this point are quickly fading because once they are in the habit of fitting a certain way they are really set that way (this is a memory metal). The adjustment was for a nose pad which was sitting a little askew because I had been so comfortable with my vision and the frame fit that I had forgotten that I was wearing glasses and fallen asleep in them while watching TV (maybe even 2-3 times) and needed the nose pad adjusted back. Much to my dismay the gentleman who took my glasses to adjust them apparently thought he should "correct their fit" to his liking not mine. I had stated specifically what I wanted and showed him what I was talking about. What he actually did though was change the way the lenses were tilted. He also removed some of the hook that Ariana had given the paddles which was to prevent them from sliding down my nose and rubbing my mastoids which gives me headaches. He changed the spread and the angle of the nose pads so they now sit painfully on my sinuses, etc. I was floored. I have been back at least 6 times since and they have not been able to undo what he has done, as if he super-heated and set them this way. Otherwise this would be 5 stars. read more
