Filled out the online form to be contacted for sod install, no response from Lake Jem. I called a few time and you are automatically put on hold for a minute before the phone starts ring. Eventually I got ahold of someone and set up for a bid. I met a representative who promised a bid after measuring and then I never heard from him or Lake Jem again. read more

I'm posting on here because I want to see if they will rectify the situation. I've also sent them the exact email "I purchased a pallet of Bahia sod from you yesterday (4/13/2021). Please see the pictures for reference... but I believe I was sold dead, or close to dead, sod. There is barely any green grass on the 400sqft pallet. Instead we have more yellow and dark brown blades. I was under the impression that when you buy sod, you are buying it already green. We called the location and were told "give it a chance" and if it doesn't grow back, we'll get a new pallet. But my next question is, what do we do with the dead grass? We now have to do MORE work to remove this sod and replace it. I'm just looking for a solution here because I'm truly disappointed at this product that was purchased" read more

We recently put in a pool and had to resod our yard (part St. Augustine and part Bahia) I am extremely disappointed! The person on the phone said the Bahia will look really bad but it is loaded with seed. "Really bad is an understatement" It was so dry we couldn't even pick up whole pieces they just fell apart and the weeds came through, but the actual grass is lacking. The St. Augustine was just a good cover for the weeds to come through. Yes, we watered and there has been rain. But it has been WEEKS and it still looks horrible. 4 pallets and almost $1000 and my yard still looks horrible. read more

I've had good results with Lake Jem Farms. Local business that gets a thumbs up from me. There logistic operations where spot on for delivery and install. They insured my old sod was completely removed and dead. They Connected me with an irrigation specialist to insure my system was functioning correctly, was being efficient for what my lawn needed. Freshly cut sod arrived on there scheduled day. Installers where prompt to begin work. Great crew. They removed all pallets and left my yard as if it never had been removed . Being a pallet plus short they promptly ensured additional sod was dropped off and they finished quickly the following day. If your in the Apopka/ Tavares/Leesburg area I would recommend giving them a call. Schedule your re-sod early as they could get quite busy. Other contractors I've used where not as proactive in there communication and Lake Jem seems to have that down. They don't operate on the " Will work you in" Method! Tavares location.....AVOID...Avoid at ALL Costs! Paid $454 for 3 pallets of dead sod...nothing but dried-out roots in dried-out sand. (appears palleted and left out in a field somewhere for several months!) Immediately called and spoke to a women who said wait 2 weeks. Tried to find sod roots in all the sand and plant them. Our mistake...should have forced company to pick up all 3 pallets immediately! 2 weeks later called and text photos of dead sod...said will take care of us and had just been busy. 3 weeks now...NO response from company... we are putting grass seed. read more

Ordered 9 pallets of Bahaia sod from Lake Jem Farms because they could deliver quicker than the company I normally use. Although they were more expensive, I thought I would give them a try. What I received was 2 pallets of sod and 7 pallets of dirt with grass clippings mixed in, literally! I called the company and told them what I received and was given the owner and managers phone numbers. I called both the owner and manager and left a message. Three weeks later and still no return call. I have called the office seven times over those three weeks being told each time by the receptionist I would receive a call and this would be taken care of. In fact, I was told other customers were having the same issue and requesting refunds. I sent pictures to the company of the sod I received and still no attempt at all to remedy this. Lake Jem Farms is not a credible company and is clearly owned and managed by people who do not care about their customers. Avoid them or be prepared for disappointment. There are too many other companies that actually care about those that pay for their service. No quality, no customer care, and no integrity at Lake Jem Farms! read more

Today is 8/29/2018. A week and a half ago I ordered 5 pallets of Bahia Sod from Lake Jem Sod Farm. I really wanted St. Augustine however due to the rain they were unable to cut. No problem I get that so I asked if they were cutting Bahia, and they said yes. I spoke with Crystal in customer service stating I needed 5 pallets of the Bahia she asked if it was for a pick up, and said no I drive a Hyundai and would need it delivered. Crystal quoted me a price of $508 and said they could deliver it on Wednesday the 29 of August However when she told me the price it was over $700 now. This is a huge difference I questioned it and she said she must have made a mistake. Fine what ever I need it so I ordered it. I was told to call at 8am the morning of delivery for a time that it would be delivered, and I did and was told to call back after 2pm, so again I did only to be told that they were not cutting sod and that they could deliver next week Tuesday. I asked why I didn't get a phone call and was told she forgot. I asked to speak with her boss Sari. Sari apologized and said she want to help. I fully understand the rain and that is not the issue. the issue in short is miss quoted on the price, not being told that my order was canceled. Sari kept telling me she wants to help. I asked the question is my order going to out to the back of the list or am I going to receive it Tuesday morning next week?, and I was told it not guarantied and that it could be there late in the day. I asked how is this going to help me and she told me that I could refund my order. Worst customer service ever. read more

Their substandard sod was thin cut, half dead, dry, falling apart and is full of weeds only Roundup will kill. Avoid.
