When you take the whole place and add it all up, well that's what you get Checking: A breeze, courtesy, professional 4* Room: 3.75* good size, comfortable bed, dated furnishings, a little wear and tear. Fridge (mini) but I've had way smaller. Lights. I'm not sure I've been in any hotel room this well lit with only indoor lighting. Nice size bathroom vanity, coffee maker. Desk. Great chair. Definitely able to get work done comfortably No gym, but was able to workout in my room. Location: Several restaurants within walking distance, and a gas stop/convienience store made it ideal. Low street noise too! I would definitely stay here again if I was in the neighborhood. read more

Rooms are very quiet. The motel is near the road but I didn't hear any traffic from inside the room. The room was towards the back of the hotel. Also, I didn't hear noise from next-door neighbors and only a couple of times. some heavy steps from the guest above, but nothing bad. The place is very clean and safe. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds, nice showers, and working amenities (microwave, fridge, hair dryer, coffee machine, A/C) There is plenty of free parking. A chinese restaurant next door, but didn't try.it. Excellent service. The personnel took care of our requests immediately and in a friendly way. Housekeeping ladies are also friendly and take care of the room very well . This motel provides housekeeping every day. Breakfast and swimming pool are currently unavailable, but they informed about it dueing the reservation. Dogs are allowed for a $20/day fee. read more

I stay here every time I'm in Lake County for work, which is every other month. Immaculately clean, great Mr. Coffee mini makers so you can bring your own coffee, excellent shower pressure and mattresses. The traffic isn't that busy on 20, and it really dies down to nothing after rush hour. I'm sensitive to noise and light and find it very quiet. And the service and staff are excellent and so helpful. We have stayed there numerous times this past year. Vik at the front desk and his wife are lovely people. The rooms are immaculately clean, every time. The beds are very comfortable, nice sized refrigerator, microwave, and great water pressure in the shower. They make sure you have everything you need and are friendly and caring. They obviously take pride in running the motel. He even gave us cold water bottles for the long ride home. It's very conveniently located too. Every time there, we enjoy the Chinese restaurant next door. Excellent food and excellent service. We enjoy our time there due to the very comfortable motel and great restaurant next door. Zero's Stars to Lake Point Lodge Warning!! Close your rental with receipt in hand always. My findings: Slick tongue Front Office Staff and liers. Understaffed Motel Lodge. Blatant Liars of in site plain evidence. Me: Are you in the middle of renovating some of the rooms. Ben Front Office: No. Yet In plain site: *Room with no bathroom door on it rented for full price. *Blue paint tape left on the door jams. *Sheet rock boards propped against the wall. *Chairs stacked and not stage for seating. *Rooms unoccupied and unrentable when room is requested by room number. * Rooms with plastic taped windows. Warning $$$$ Trumped up towel charges on your open credit card account when you don't check out. You are told to leave the key in the room and no need to check out. Ben Front Deck: Called me to say. There was not one towel left in the room. Those towels are very very expensive. Your credit card will be charged. (Due to CC left open by not checking out with receipt closing your room charges.) Me: That's not the truth. My girlfriend was sick all night and had up chucked and she used all the towels for clean up on the bed, the carpet, the toilet, and the bathroom floor. I promise you no one took your towels. There is no way I'm taking any towels in my car for a long ride home to a place where I have clean towels. Me: Why are you lying? Oh we didn't check out fully with closing our room rental and so now you want to tack on charges because everyone steals your very expensive towels from Pakistan. People me personally... I will never return to a place like this. New management is needed. Their business neighbors close by are not even in friendship with Lake Point Lodge which speaks volumes to me as a paying customer. read more

After a long drive along the Sonoma coast, my Fiancé and I ended up in Clearlake Oaks . We are very familiar with the area, however this was a last minute check in and We had never stayed at Lake point Lodge. Vik who was working that night not only was able to to get us the last king-size room he had available ,but also assisted us in getting our car keys we had so carelessly left in the ignition upon checking in . Driving around Clear Lake, one thing you will immediately notice is the absolute paucity of inns - none of the major inn operators are here. What is up with that! This was a last resort, found in a frantic search for a place to stay. A number of other motels/inns along the way look a bit uninviting. Even this one has a not-so-appealing makeup. But looks can be deceiving! This is a great place to stay - friendly owners, and clean rooms, with lots of parking. If possible reserve in advance only so that you can get a better rate. The inn didn't get full during a long weekend, and I can't imagine it being anywhere near full during the rest of the year. But if you show up and ask for a room, you will likely get only the higher rates. The Chinese/Thai restaurant next door, Happy Garden Bar, is an added plus. If you miss this place, the next best option is all the way up at the Robinson Rancheria casino, a good 20 miles away. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean well kept room. I'm a pest tech so I looked the room over pretty well and found no bed bugs or roaches. I also saw a pest company servicing the hotel while I was there and that was good to see. I watched a manager escort the tech through his service so I felt like they care about keeping things on the up and up. Unfortunately this isn't always the case with budget hotels. It was fairly cheap and the continental breakfast reflected that but that was fine by me to have a clean pest free room. Dining in the area is a challenge to be kind but that has nothing to do with the hotel. I'd definitely stay there again. read more

We had quite a pleasant stay at the Lake Point Lodge. Our room was clean and comfortable. Two queen beds, dresser, refrigerator, microwaive, two cup coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, night stand, work station (desk and desk chair) and a comfortable sitting chair.) The TV was a flat planner, unlike pictures on some other websites. The beds were firm, but I slept well. Bathroom was clean, and the A/C more than up to the job. (Clearlake gets hot in the summer months, so this made my wife quite happy.) The pool was also clean and kept at an appropriate temperature, just warm enough to get in quickly, but cool enough that you did not feel like you were taking a bath. In fact, between the before bed dip and the A/C, I actually had to sleep in my long pajama pants. The staff was friendly and attentive. I went to get ice, but they were working on the ice machine. An employee (owner) let me know that it was out of order, but they were fixing it. He asked for my room number, and I was surprised about 15 minutes later when he showed up with a small bag of ice, letting me know that it would be a while before the ice machine made ice even though it would be fixed. All in all, it looks like they have been investing in this property, considering some of the older reviews. There were several doors which had multiple new paint sections, which indicates to me that they are picking colors for a new exterior paint job. A few hints to management. (None of which really impacted our stay.) Two queen rooms should be set up for 4 people. So, 4 towel sets, double coffee sets, etc. I'm sure if I had asked, they would have provided the missing items. (We had a party of 3, myself, my wife, and our son.) I really only had to negative issues. One, there were no sheer curtains behind the blackout curtains. This prevented us from having natural light, unless we wanted to be in a fishbowl. (Our room, 101, was on the bottom floor, right next to the pool.) The other was a knock on the door at 8:59 am. The employee asked if we were checking out today. Now, this could have been my fault as we did not hang the "do not disturb" sign on the door, so he may have wanted to confirm that we did not "fast check out" by just leaving, which happens when rooms are pre-paid or they swipe your credit card. All in all, if you are looking for a place to stay near Clearlake Oaks, this is a very nice option. It's not the Savoy, but I was not expecting it to be. read more

We stayed here over the labor day weekend and enjoyed our stay. First the location of this lodge is super convenient. It's right next to a Chinese/Thai restaurant, gas station and a breakfast place all within walking distance. Brassfield winery (which you must visit if you are here) is around 4 miles. Overall very convenient location. Rooms are clean and we had no issues with either the room or the AC. I really wish they would provide a window screen so that we could open the dark curtains and let some natural light in. Breakfast was the usual fair comprising of cornflakes, bread toast and milk etc. No egg or other hot breakfast. Overall, a good value for money and convenient location. read more

A surprising perfect motel! Last minute we needed to get 3 hotel rooms, preferably together and the owner and staff were extremely accommodating. The rooms were upgraded, clean and really comfortable. The upgraded suite even had a jet tub - bonus! They had a mini continental breakfast that the kids enjoyed to the fullest. Their pool was fun to enjoy during the day with the warm weather and next door was a yummy restaurant. If we are ever out this way again, this would be the place to stop. Lake county is in a state of emergency and they tried to take advantage of it by charging ((300$ A NIGHT)) to hundreds of families who have JUST LOST THEIR HOMES in the Valley fire!!!! DESPICABLE. People have lost their homes, and had no time at all to get any of their things. There are hundreds of animals missing and running scared. Everyone is opening up their homes to anyone FOR FREE including local businesses!!!! Whomever works the front desk just laughed and said they "have a business to run" and are "following bosses orders" VILE PEOPLE. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. 10/10 WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!! read more

It's not bad but, rather decent. Beds are stiff but, I did sleep well. Woke up without back pain and rested enough to hit the road. AC got the place cold and that was nice since it hit 100 that day and was a warm night. Shower warmed quickly. Sensed no smells or bad odors. The furnishings need an update and the beds should be replaced soon. Hope they get something a bit softer for beds next time. read more

I traveled to Nice CA over Labor Day weekend to visit friends. I was excited to visit Clearlake for the first time and brought along my family and our fishing gear. Upon checking in to the Lake Point Lodge I realized it was nothing more than a run down roadside motel. The one staff member couldn't be bothered to tell us there was no breakfast, and that I was being charged additional for my 17 yr old daughter. The pool although not in use, was green and my door looked as though it was previously kicked in at some point. My drapes looked like something out of a western brothel and the saggy mattress looked as though it had seen better days. As we were only staying one night we were determined to make the best of a horrible situation. However, imagine my surprise when I was awakened by a combination of either bed bugs and or mosquitos at about midnight. My sleep was further interrupted by noisy guests running overhead as well as a very loud drug deal happening in the parking lot. We attempted to report these issues to the front desk, however, this place was such a nightmare even Management was nowhere to be found. We waited for the sun to come up and quickly made our way back home to clean sheets. Save yourself about $200 with tax and sleep in your car, or just avoid this place altogether. read more

I have a stayed here a few times. I would say it is a pretty standard lodge. The facilities are quite dated and run down but for the price you are paying, it is probably acceptable. There are many good things I like about this place: plenty of free parking, free high speed wi-fi (which is rare these days) and a decent bar/restaurant next door. We stayed at this hotel while visiting a family member. Our hotel room was very clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There is a large counter space around the sink. The room has a coffee pot, small fridge, and microwave. This hotel does not really have a continental breakfast,but In the lobby they have coffee and some packaged danish. The area probably does not get enough people for them to offer breakfast. The employees were very friendly. We would stay here again if in the area. Our room was a non-smoking room. I don't know if the entire hotel is non-smoking or not. read more

The hotel is very out dated and looks like NO up grades in the near future. It advertises a pool and SPA but I was told that the guy was just there a couple of days ago and they have to order a part!!! That's funny because my sister stayed there almost a year ago and the she was told the say thing! The worst part of my daughter's and my stay is the day of departure (check out is 11:00) it was Sunday 11:02 and this guy (owner, maintance, who knows) unlocks the door and comes in and says he is sorry and check out is 11:00... The room that we had, a handicap room, was clean and everything seemed new. When communicating, over the phone, with the front desk I believed that the heavily accented clerk told us this room was $59 or $69 a night not really sure, but either seemed acceptable. When we went to the clerk he showed us the room which was nice and then when I was paying we ended up paying $97 for the night. I expected to pay a maximum of $77 for the night, including tax . When I mentioned it to the clerk he acted like everything was understood beforehand. Needless to say I will have to see it in writing next time, because the clerk's accent was so thick it confused me. Based upon this experience, I probably won't stay at this site again. read more

The room smelled, BAD. Like sewer. I should have changed rooms (or hotels) as soon as I walked in but it was late and I was super tired. I turned the AC way up and we didn't touch the floors. The "BEST" part was first thing the next morning someone walked into our room. I don't know if his keycard worked or if the door hadn't locked the night before. When I told the clerk both things he looked at me blankly. I am sure he thought I was trying to scam them but I just wanted him to know. I would NEVER go there again. This place is gross! Our sheets were not clean and the bedspread smelled bad. There was a cockroach or large beetle in the bathtub so we left immediately when we found it the next morning. It took 2 hours for them to even bring us fresh bedding. What a nightmare! read more

THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL DUMP. Things LOOKED okay on the surface, but watch out! The (low-flow) toilet in our room had a major bladder problem, which sounded like a jack hammer doing a number on the plumbing. The noise scared the crap out of me at first, because I had no idea what was going to crumble down on top of me! I called for help, but no one ever showed up! The sink leaked onto the carpet, and we didn't notice it until we stepped up to it in our socks and ended up in a huge puddle! (Needless to say, the socks went into the garbage). Oh yeah, the water in the walls ran 24/7. Had to close the bathroom door in order to keep the noise out. There was one single chair in the room. Nothing to write with or on, and the office didn't have anything either! The blanket had cigarette burns in it. There is basically zero staff available, except to take your money. No continental breakfast, no coffee, no nothing. You can't get into the pool without finding someone to unlock the gate for you. What a JOKE! There's apparently some remodeling being done; it was the main lobby when we were there. We happened to see that they are on notice from the County to "HALT CONSTRUCTION IMMEDIATELY" because they have no permits! If you get put on the west side of the building, you have to fight for parking with the restaurant next door. This place was unbelievable. If we hadn't been exhausted from our long motorcycle ride, we would have kept going...believe me, I wish we had. read more

This is not a resort. It is a roadside motel, clean, quiet, well maintained, and safe. The folks who run the place a very nice. The rooms are basic: bed, bureaus, tables and chairs, night stand, TV.
