Towels folded nicely and toiletries stuck inside!
    Connie M.

I stayed here for July 4th weekend. Clear Lake wasn't what I had envisioned. I supposed Lake Tahoe has and always will ruin every lake for me. Too high of expectations I guess, It's a very dinky town full of crazy locals. The housing is old, and there are no attractions aside from the lake, which in itself is not that stellar in person vs. digital form. Moving onto the motel.... It's not terrible by any means. My bf checked in and said the indian owner guy was sort of passive and rude to him...up until he paid for the room then he became nice. Talk about great customer service? I was expecting cigarette butts in the sink or the room smelling like drugs and other paraphernalia. It was a decent sized room with a king bed, the AC worked, the floors weren't nasty and the place didn't reek of pet urine nor smoke (although it did smell heavily of cleaning detergent/bleach). The bathrooms were standard and actually CLEAN! Don't come here expecting fancy toiletries but at least there were towels and a hair dryer! The rooms also come equipped with a small kitchen with a stove, microwave, and mini fridge. The lakefront inn is adjacent to the water so that's convenient, except it was so stinkin' hot who goes in the water anyways?? Unless I had a boat, I would not have touched that dirty water under the scorching sun. I didn't spend too much time in the motel because my friends had a nicer AirBnB also adjacent to the lake so we decided to BBQ there instead. In the end, it's not really where you stay that makes a difference, it's the people you choose to spend the days with. .

    Clogged sink upon arrival

I needed a last minute place to stay while in the area and was hoping for a lake view. The view was the only good thing when it came to this particular location. It's very run down and in a state of disarray. Sure the price is low but so are their standards in regards to cleanliness and sanitation. Not to mention the parking lot is clustered with run down vehicles and shady looking patrons. We stayed only one night but the bad impression will last a lifetime. The room has a musty stale odor , and the curtains were missing a shade so privacy in the kitchen was not an option (see photo). The sink was clogged and even the garbage disposal couldn't seem to clear the blockage, which the owner must've known because there was a bucket to catch the runoff under the sink. We found remnants of the previous occupants throughout the room, including a crown royal bottle top which we did not bring. The bathroom was hazardous due to the fact that there were tile floors with no rugs or handles to avoid slipping while exiting the shower/tub. There was repairs happening late into a Sunday evening , which includes welding and spray painting which were both visually and aromatically nauseating . I wish someone had reviewed this place recently so I could've avoided making the mistake of selecting it. The owner seemed nice but was very hard to understand what he was saying due to a very thick accent. I hope their repairs include a full remodel , otherwise I don't see anyone enjoying their stay at this particle location.

This is the best kept secret in all of LAKE COUNTY! !! I was on business for the valley fires in Lake County for 75 days! I stayed 60 plus nights at the best western in clearlake (don't recommend) but I was blessed to stay at this little gem I stayed in room 310 and it had picture perfect views of clearlake, especially at sunrise and sunset! Room was perfect, king size bed, big bathroom, great water pressure, long hot showers! It had a good size kitchen room, with a table and two chairs, fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee pot and a window overlooking the lake! The room also had a TV and good WiFi reception! Free WiFi too!! Outside my room was a BBQ and a picnic table! Also there is a cat walk that takes you 50ft into the lake, perfect for casting a fishing line off of! I saw lots of pictures of guests that caught fish from it! This place also has a game room with arcade games and a pool table! The location is within 15 minutes of Robinson casino, 35 minutes from konocti casino , 45 minutes from twin pines casino and less than an hour to cache Creek or colusa casino! There is a grocery store and a gas station within 5 minutes and some of the best Chinese food around at happy garden about 7 minutes away! The only drawbacks that I could see were a slightly small parking lot (it's slightly 13 room motel, with about 13 parking spaces) the room walls are on the thin side, but not bad. The TV'S. Are a little outdated, but function perfectly! Tons of channels! It's worth mentioning that the motel is pest free! I saw one or two ants when I was there and that was it! Vinny, the owner is very pleasant, laid back and easy going! I will return in the future!

    Roach on the bathtub

The worst of the worst, the place was full of roaches and absolutely dirty. The bed was full of pubic hairs, even in the mini fridge. I mean full of it. No way the sheets were changed or the floors swept. I requested new bed sheets but they could not provide the correct size, even after 6 attempts and the roaches were brave, no fear. Walking around like they owned the place. There is no way this hotel should be rated as a 4 star..very misleading as it is really is a 1/2 star hotel. I know this is Clear Lake and I should not expect much, but damn the roaches and the pubic hair is just nasty!

Best kept secret. Please don't tell anyone. My room was big, clean, quite with a direct view of the lake. The keepers were efficient, kind as with a great sense of humor. This place is my new hide-away. It's also close to shore access, hikes, restaurants and hikes via a short car ride.

We had a fantastic time staying here. The location is absolutely perfect - right on the lake. We had a picture perfect view from our room, and waking up to that view every morning made my vacation memorable. The rooms are clean and spacious, the shower and bathrooms were adequate, and it was very quiet and peaceful. Another major plus was that our dog was very welcome to stay. I'll definitely come back and stay here again.

People who stay at the Lake Marina Inn in Clearlake Oaks, California, feel right at home. Most of the 12 rooms are equipped with kitchens that have garbage disposals. The rooms are clean, spacious, non-smoking units, many with amazing views. A handicapped room is available with ample space for wheelchairs and a roll-in shower. The resort overlooks the largest fresh-water lake in California. Guests can spend hours lounging on the observation platform extending out over the lake. Boaters can head out to fish, ski, or tour the lake via the Inn's boat launch. A game room is the perfect place to hang out during cooler weather. Others might choose to get a workout in while enjoying the view. Clearlake is a popular fishing spot, and the Lake Marina Inn keeps avid fishers in the know by posting fishing news. They also list fishing guides who will lead you into the perfect fishing spot. The Inn also informs sightseers of recreational activities through its website. Tourists can find wineries, entertainment, restaurants, and more on the site. Rooms at the Lake Marina Inn have king and queen sized beds, free WiFi, direct dial phone, and they are pet friendly. There is even a barbeque available for guests to use. It is an ideal vacation spot for couples wanting a romantic getaway or families wanting some fun time.

Had a great time at this hotel this is my second time with family and friends here and we enjoyed ourselves we had the rooms with the lake view each time and I would be up at 5:30 fishing all the guys tried to beat each other to the pier lol our wife's or girlfriends relax and stayed in bed lol were able to chill outside till late the staff was way cool anything that was needed was received without long wait time only one complaint was the bugs in one room but as soon it was reported staff changed the room for them with a fuss I would always recommend this hotel

(Doesn't have to be romantic; can also be fun with girlfriends!) This is an absolutely beautiful 3-bedroom home equipped with everything you can think of for a good time: full kitchen, dining area, patio with BBQ grill, fire pit, plenty of tables and chairs, and we even saw hammocks hanging on some trees! The rooms can be individually booked, or you can book all three for your friends and family. The home sits on a vineyard, so you get to taste their delicious wines. In the dining/living room area, you have access to games and a projector that is connected to Apple TV, so you can project a movie on the wall! How cool is that?! DANIEL gave us the best wine-tasting experience we have ever had. His explanations were thorough and very interesting. It went beyond the "peppery notes with hints of berries" descriptions you usually get at wineries. He explained the winemaking process because he has done it all, from planting grapes to making wine. And he was very kind and patient with all of our questions. And up the hill a little bit there is another home that they rent as well, and if it is vacant, you get full access to the pool! Another thing I appreciated now during covid is that the entire home was very clean! No carpet in the rooms (which makes it feel instantly cleaner already), the sheets smelled of fresh laundry detergent, and the shower was spotless. The rooms also have beautiful wooden patios. And then in the morning, we got a delicious hot breakfast by Gunay! She was so sweet and hospitable. On a sad note, they no longer have the llamas or sheep. But it is still a great experience! Also, don't be scared when you are following the GPS to arrive here! It's literally in the middle of no where! In conclusion to my short novel, we will definitely be returning with friends and enjoy all of the amenities!

One member of our family got there a day before the rest. She felt as though we was tricked from the pictures. She was told no refunds. My aunt was so disgusted she nearly got back on the plane and flew home. The place from the outside had spider webs and dirt all over the place. Its seriously needs to be pressure hosed from the outside all over. This is only where the problems start. In my beach house cottage the power and stove went out. They stated its a DFI switch or something like that, nevertheless after having a "employee who can fix it." They couldn't find her, she went home. So I had to wait to finish cooking. After about 2 hours they magically came back on. This seems as though its been a ongoing problem from the way they made it sound. Another one of my aunts had to wait for her unit to be painted 3 hours past check it. Yes I said painted! Who paints a unit same day of check in? Well later I find out they had a squatter who wouldn't leave dying there. the place smelled so bad they had to paint it to remove the smell. They wouldve been better off not renting the unit till it was complete. My aunt had to try and sleep there with paint fumes and she has asthma. Lastly mother and I was hanging out till midnight. When it was time for her to goto bed, she discovers her unit flooded from the AC. Her Bedding was soaked. They did come and mop it up and give new bedding. They literally gave the new bedding to my mom. My mother is handicap, the guy claims he has never maid a bed before. My mother could've slipped or gotten electrocuted, the offered no help. Here is the worst part they offered a $50 discount for the trouble. Moral of the story is NEVER got there. They need new owners and management that gives a dam.

The customer service here is not great. The people are nice enough, but the people working the front desk do not seem to know the answers to even basic questions. Even though the place was completely empty, they charge for an early check in. Our reservation was not correct, and they put us in a regular double room instead of the suite we asked for. Had to return to the lodge and get all new keys and room after unloading and reloading the car. We also paid for a late checkout, and we still got locked out of our room and no one responded to our call. We had to go down to the lobby, which isn't easy here, after being promised someone was on their way. Getting anything takes forever or no one knows the answer. We stayed Saturday to Monday. Unfortunately, the onsite food service and bars close at 3pm on Sundays even though that was our full day there. The tiki bar was hardly open to get drinks by the pool. Essentially the only thing to actually do here is swim in the pool, get a massage, or use the gym. No kayak rentals, no mini-golf course, no pontoon cruises, etc despite all of this being advertised on the website. It was mostly empty and felt very abandoned in most parts of the property. The highlights: the pool is nice and people were very friendly. The bartender was awesome and went above and beyond to do what she could. The actual suite was nice, but not worth the price based on the other amenities being unavailable. The massage therapist was amazing! If the owners put any effort into this place, it could be great. The lake and scenery are amazing. In its current state, we wouldn't return.

I mean REALLY shady! So to receive the level of hospitality, patience and professionalism along with a HUGE somewhat "funky" house was refreshing. My brother-in-law rented the main house and two cabins for a first annual Family reunion (16 of us). Clearlake holds a special place in the hearts of my husbands family so coming to the lake was a given. The main house is quirky and has plenty of room for a large family to sleep and hang out. Is it 5 Stars in a "SF Ritz Carlton"Way? Ah no. This is 5 Stars for Clearlake folks. The main house is old with a musty odor and the furnishings are far fancy but completely comfortable. Lots a large TV's, free wifi and newer kitchen appliances. Down side, totally not a good option for the elderly or handicap because there are lots of stairs. My 80 something parents-in-law had to stay in one of the small adjoining Cabins because the quantity of stairs in the main house just wasn't doable for them. The real gem is the fact that you're right on the lake. Yes it's got algae but look past the first 5 feet of shore and you'll see the true wow factor. There is a very large deck off the second story and .... WOW! The views were breathtaking. The outside "yard" is massive. Oh the parties that could be and probably have happened here were probably epic. And a tiki bar? YES! I loved that there is a Chavez Market right across the street so running out of or forgetting anything isn't a problem. It's a pretty nice market (clean, fresh produce and SAFE). We had a wonderful reunion here and even though there were a few restroom issues and the beds are like sleeping on clouds, and the cabins smelled like smokers stayed there, it's still a great place for a large group. Right on the lake ... Like RIGHT on the lake!
