Came by to get dinner with family at the golf resort's restaurant. There were plenty of parking spaces. We were seated promptly. Severs were very friendly and attentive. There were TV I. The restaurant showing different sports games. They have a variety of food on the menu. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The filet was well seasoned. It tasted perfect when dipping the fish in the tartar sauce. The fries were crispy, which is what I like. I will come back to try more food soon. read more

Pizza, burgers (locally sourced), beer and golf - say no more! Best kept secret from tourists but well known amongst the locals. The meat lovers pizza and "half" chef salad (huge portion) were divine and the views are absolutely amazing. The added bonus is that the golf course is the best in the area with newly renovated condos. I highly recommend staying for the weekend or just stopping by for a quick bite to eat. Golfed for the first time this spring. Course was in great condition! The views of Mt Shasta alone are worth the price. Had dinner afterwards both the burger and chef salad were great. Service was good and staff was friendly. Talked to the GM on our way out and he showed us some video of the recently renovated condos. They looked great! read more

We love this little restaurant. From stopping for a burger or sandwich and eating there, or calling in a to go order, we've always received good food and even better service! All wait staff are efficient and friendly even when the place gets busy with golfers just off the course. Only wish they'd offer breakfast at least more than two days a week, but totally understand reasons why they only serve on weekends. The pizza is amazing, especially the cauliflower crust for low carb customers. read more

Hidden gem in lake shastina. Just moved here and decided to have lunch and a beer. Food was great, the patios views very relaxing, and the most friendliest staff. Would definitely come again. If you're a Shastina local, you can't miss the spot. Great views of the area and just a nice place to have dinner, lunch or breakfast. Just moved to the area and right across the road from this great place. The pizza is awesome! Love their French fries as well. Haven't had everything on the menu yet. Played a round of golf on the Robert trent jones course which was pretty nice. The sand traps surprised my because they are reddish and look like small gravel but hitting out of them they are soft and responsive surprisingly. The staff are all extremely nice and attentive which follows what we found in most place near or around Weed. Will be a regular place for us to visit read more

Don't pass up the links couse; It's an shadeless oven w\o water, but a fun place to shoot 9 holes of mad max golf. The Food- not sure where they learned how to run a restaurant, but they need a solid refresher on S.O.P.s Usually kind & friendly staff, but some green & salty ones too SOOO inconsistent! Sometimes it's a good pizza/ sandwich/ burger etc. delivered hot & on time. Sometimes it's a BS breakfast sandwich that u waited 30+ mins for :/ Don't count on making a tight tee time if your breakfast "will be right out" Golf's good, pool is Clutch!! Rooms are Par. The condos are clean and comfy with great views, include a microwave, fridge, oven and very efficient AC. The 18-hole course is very nice and shady, much better than the 9 hole links (from a non-golfer, cart-ride-a-long perspective.) The pro-shop staff was very accomodating and the rates very reasonable. There was a nice-looking pool (though we didn't use it) and pretty run-down looking tennis courts available as well. The restaurant had limited selections, but everything we tried was good (a little disconcerting the number of flies buzzing around the dining room though.) The only real disappointment was the nearby 'Lake' Shastina, which is SO low, it more resembles a pond. Not much they can do about lack of rain, and since we didn't come for the lake anyway, the 4 stars is definitely deserved! read more

Every time we eat here, we say we're done. Then they get new management, a new menu, new servers, or it's just convenient. And then we say, again, that we're done giving them chances. Today was it. Cool 18-hole golf course with a 9 hole Scottish Links course as well. Sits in a quiet area with Mt Shasta's 14,000 ft snow covered peak dominating the region. Bunkers are red volcanic rock grindings that look neat. Ducks and geese around the water traps. This place has houses around it, a place that Ponch was advertising on TV as a great place to buy a lot (really). We played 9 holes only $20. Everyone says hi, real friendly. Recommended alternative to Mt Shasta Resort where we usually play in this area. read more

This used to be one of my favorites in the area. The course itself is still a good one, but if you are planning on playing it presently, you had better plan on making a day of it. The last time we were there it took us 2.5 hours to play the front nine. That in itself is borderline acceptable, but when it took 45 minutes to play the next two holes and found 3 groups waiting on the 13th we called it a day and came home. The management seems more concerned about how many groups they can squeeze onto their golf course than they are about how enjoyable your round is. read more

Just spent the weekend with a large golf group at this resort. What a great experience!! We were greeted by the owner, Bill, when we checked in and saw him several times throughout he weekend actually rolling up his sleeves and helping the staff. Julie was a great help and is truly customer oriented. She was attentive to everyone's needs and made things happen smoothly, not easy with 60 plus person group. Leyla was always willing to help out when asked. This is an awesome venue for large golf outings!! read more

Hidden on the north side of Mount Shasta's grandeur is this little gem. It is a Trent Jones designed course and offers all the challenges and diversity a great course should have. We played on a sunny day in the latter part of September. The high was about 80 degrees and the wind never once even whispered throughout the day. I played the golds along with a good friend and other then the usual bonehead swings a great round of golf was had by all. Greens in great shape. The 2nd cut around the greens and fairways made for tough shots, add in the occasional onlookers known as mule deer, and its a great way to spend a day. In addition, had to rent clubs this day and was not dissapointed, Taylor Made RPZ Woods and irons, nice clubs. read more

Only reviewing for the restaurant Putter's. We just happened to stop in on a Wednesday, which is Men's golfing day. There were three tables of the most rude, creepy, obnoxious, uncouth....not sure what they were, but just disgusting! Ordered drinks, which were good. They finally left to probably wreak havoc elsewhere! May return but never on a Wednesday! read more

Putters grill has a damn fine pizza. And not a half bad burger to boot! Nothing fancy! Just good laid back atmosphere. I dont recommend asking for chicken on their menu, they rarely have it and bad at best, but pizza is as good as major pizza places. Their eggs Benedict is great and French Dip is good also! I have been taking groups of golfers (16 to 24) to Lake Shastina for over 30 years and have always enjoyed the experience. However, I have started to see a decline in service and food the last few years. Three years ago we got undercooked BBQ chicken and hard baked potatoes for one of our dinners. Last year you made up for it by having a tri-tip buffet dinner, which was excellent. This year I asked for pizza and salad one night and the tri-tip buffet the next. We got the pizza, the restaurant manager forgot about the salad, and served a bowl of greens without a hint of a tomato, onion or cuke. The following night, expecting a buffet, it did not happen, and we got individual plates with one slice of over-cooked tri-tip, under-cooked green beans, and mashed potatoes. The salad again was a bowl of just greens. In addition to this: * In the past when I called to make the reservations and order the food, I just talked to one person in the front office and they took care of everything. This time I was told I had to talk to the restaurant manager about the food, the pro shop, and you, to make it all happen. I think I'm doing someone else's job. * We were told we could get breakfast in the morning. The first morning it took 45 minutes to get our food which I did not have time to eat before my T-Time. The next morning, whoever was cooking, sent out burnt over easy eggs and toast along with other mistakes. (I was told the cook did not show), but not my problem... * The last day, we teed off at 8:00AM on the #1 tee. As we made the turn, there was a group of 20 golfers on the 10th tee box. I talked to the pro shop and they said that we were supposed to tee off on #10 in the morning. There were no signs and they did not inform me when I checked us in at 7:30AM - so we were directed to either wait for the #10 tee to clear or play the front side again, which we did. So needless to say, I've got a lot of pissed off golfers. Beside not being able to see the mountain three of the last four years and going home with banged up shins from the footboards on the beds, it was not a very enjoyable experience. I respectively request that you cancel our reservations for next year. I think we will be going elsewhere read more

We can only review the restaurant, Putter's, because we were only there for lunch but this is a beautiful place! The golf course is immaculate. The food in Putter's is wonderful. Really good burgers and I wish I had read the menu a little more because there's more to offer besides burgers. We had great service and plan on stopping by here again whenever we're in the area. read more

4 of us played a round ... the course was in good shape .. the greens were well manicured and normal speed .. pro shop staff was friendly.

We visited Putter Grill twice last week and each time were impressed with the service and the fantastic BBQ chicken pizza. Gaylen and Kathy (I think) were bouncing all over the place to make sure everyone was satisfied. This will be our new regular spot whenever we visit Lake Shastina in the future. Well Done! BTW Gaylen makes a great Long Island Iced Tea. read more
