Dr. Kang is an excellent dentist. Dr. Kang has a soft yet professional touch when providing services and I can relax under her care. I recently had a crown service and Dr. Kang and dental assistant Sadaf worked collaboratively to deliver excellent results. Sadaf was gentle and conveyed an appropriate interest in my welfare which she delivered in a very professional manner. Genuine interest puts me at ease when I'm not treated like a number. Both confirmed the quality of their work before finalizing the crown service. I don't know anyone who gets excited about going to the dentist. But when I go to Tacoma Smiles I receive high quality service and also a breakdown of pre--service costs.

I got the crown done at the other office yet still went back to Pak for all my other dental needs. YEAR+ after I had the new crown at the other office and RETURNED for several cleanings at Dr. Pak''s office. He decided that I should go back to the other office to resume my dental Care. I'm not sure if he felt disloyalty or the loss of money or ? For decades, I enjoyed the staff at his office. They are fabulous. I've known his hygienist since High School. SHOCKINGLY TO ME: a crown is removed, a brand new one created, and installed IN ONE APPOINTMENT! Today's technology used at Petrie uses a camera to 3d your crown and tooth area and the result: perfect. Prior history, I had to have the crown adjusted when high points become noticed. Here, my crown is the best fit ever in my life and at one appointment. Prior replacements required two appointments and more work to create a crown. Reminders are nicely made to avoid forgetting an appointment too. Simply a happy customer for a good reason: nothing could be done better.

I saw Dr. Olga and her dental assistant Gosia. They took X-rays, including a panoramic X-ray, and examined my teeth. They even used a device which created an digital model of my teeth! This is definitely a top of the line dental office! We discussed a path forward to clean my teeth, replace my missing molar, and even straighten my teeth. They were so nice and explained everything in terms I could understand. Everyone there, including the front desk folks, were so wonderful to me. I left Petrie Advanced Dentist with a plan to get my smile back and better than ever! I'll keep posting as I continue my journey!

I can't speak about the effectiveness of the treatments but my decision to go somewhere else had a lot to do with the fact that I didn't like the atmosphere here. Call me old-fashioned but I kind of expect a doctor's office to be somewhat serene and comforting. The front desk lady (forgot her name) was really nice but there was a lot of loud conversations and laughing going on. Not only that, once your name is called and you walk through the maze-like corridors past open door offices you can hear club music blasting from somewhere and smell food too since someone is clearly eating lunch. I'm not against dancing and eating but it just felt unprofessional. Sure, I can let those things slide but there's more. The consulation room looked like a storage room with a dental chair in it (I'm serious). The floor was littered with gas tanks and medical equipment, with music blaring from a portable radio on the counter. The dental assistant was also kind of unfriendly. So yeah, the consultation with the doctor went ok I guess although his recommendations quite differed from the other dentistry I later visited. I guess the kids these days might be cool with all this 'modernness' but I personally can't trust anyone to do a medical procedure in a setting like this.
