Here's what I wrote to the owners after we left: I cannot express to you how happy we were with our trip and your home was a major part of that! To be honest, the pictures online do not do justice to show the amount of space we had. I LOVED all the labels and how easy it made everything (TVs, refrigerator, garbage, etc.) to use. All of the outlets and modernization in that aspect were awesome. We all had so much fun in the game room and many hours were spent there with our kids. Our son, 8, loves all things video games and it was a treat to show him games we used to play when we were kids. The walk to the lake was easy. And, oh man, that little lake. What an ideal spot for our family. Our youngest is 3 and we felt so comfortable in that environment for all of our kids. We met your neighbor, Doug, and had some good chats with him. What a guy! Your binder with information was heavily used. We managed to get out and about a little bit: Columbia for gold panning, Lyons Reservoir, Fraser Flats, Pinecrest, my husband even made it way up Sonora Pass for a hike in the snow, while we soaked in the 80 degree weather. Unfortunately our fishing skills are lacking and we didn't catch dinner, but we still had fun trying. I will (and already have) share your rental with anyone looking and we hope to be back in the future. Our kids did not want to come home...we took them to Kauai last year and they didn't say that when we left there. Thanks for making such a magical place available to the masses. We had our family reunion in the cabin last week and thoroughly enjoyed it! It definitely has a…read more"cabin" feel with forest in the back yard and deer sightings a couple of times on the property. We loved the little lake just a short walk away. Bring something to float on for a thoroughly relaxing experience! Our family is the outdoor type, but I was surprised how often we gravitated down to the arcade room for some fun competition. The cabin was clean, and everyone said that their beds were comfortable. Everything we needed to cook for a crowd was available including 2 coffee pots to accommodate our caffeine and decaf preferences at the same time. The owner, Eric, did a great job communicating with us and making sure that everything was going well. Neighbors were friendly, too. If you're expecting a luxury hotel with granite counter tops, this is not the place to come. If you want a relaxing, comfortable, and peaceful place to vacation with access to amazing outdoor activities, I definitely recommend this. That being said, let me tell you a few gems that we experienced while we were there... We drove up to Pine Crest Lake (probably about 20-25 minute drive from the cabin) and spent several hours hiking around the lake. There's a nice beach and picnic area, too, if you're not into the hiking. It's a beautiful area that reminded me a lot of Tahoe. We also went to Big Trees (an hour drive from the cabin). The North Grove of the park is impressive, I'm sure, but we drove down to the less travelled South Grove and had a great day of hiking while viewing some amazing trees (up to 25 feet diameter). A third adventure I would highly recommend is the Natural Bridges trail (about half way to Big Trees or 30 min from the cabin). The trail is about 1 mile long and takes you to a stream that goes through a cave. Bring your floaties so that you can float into the cave! What a treat! And a stop in the old gold mining town of Columbia for ice cream on the way home topped the day off. Great family vacation spot! Thanks, Eric!

Our son and grandkids were staying in a hotel inside the park (historic and for less money), but we really wanted a pool. Before we booked we confirmed that the pool was open. We arrived in the early evening, and the innkeeper said for an additional charge we could have one of the newly renovated rooms. It sounded good. Anyways, the room was not great. Just fresh paint and some garage sale furniture. But okay. Not a big deal. It was clean. and the beds were comfortable. The curtains didn't actually cover the entire window so we put some books up against it and used a safety pin. My husband was more irritated than I was. I thought it was kind of funny. The next morning we asked for the wifi password (as promised) and the innkeeper said they didn't have internet. What?? We could see it right there on our phones. It made NO sense. When we went to use the pool we found that it was locked up tight with a padlock and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Leaves, dirt on the bottom, and mold growing on the side. And a dog was running around the pool barking at us. After talking to some of the other guests we finally put two and two together. It is mostly a residence motel with a few rooms to rent to the public. They said they got the internet with no problem. Apparently the pool is attached to their private quarters and the padlock stays put. I guess the dogs need a yard. Anyways, don't waste your money. Without the internet and pool as promised it is a fifty dollar room, not $115.

She was truly dedicated to the success of our wedding making sure we were stress-free the entire time. And I must add she is extremely creative! The owners (the Klauses) were also extremely diligent and genuinely cared that we would have the most amazing day. They are the kindest and most gracious people you will ever meet! The location/venue was perfect! I mean the view overlooking the lake was breathtaking! And it wasn't the only spot that was beautiful. Every inch of that property was gorgeous. It felt like I was in some magical land that I couldn't imagine even in my wildest dreams. I mean, our photographer was so inspired she kept finding great places for us to take pictures. Shout out to Renee as one of the Vendors too, she was handsdown one of the best decisions we made regarding the wedding. You will regret not booking her for your wedding/event. This was truly a memorable day and a huge reason for this was the people involved and the location. We didn't have to worry about random people showing up to our intimate wedding like I've seen happen at other venues. It was spacious enough to for a large wedding party without sacrificing comfort, we loved that we felt tucked away into nature while still having "city accommodations". And I must add, the view from the casita is unmatched. Best view on the property. I loved that it served as my bridal suite! I can't say enough about Airola Vineyards. Truly, our wedding was just enchanting. While our guests were originally skeptical about the location (many had to drive 8+ hours) once they arrived they all thanked us for the invitation because it meant they were in such a beautiful location. I'm surprised this place isn't better known and while I want to be selfish and not the let the secret out, I would be doing humanity a disservice if I didn't shout Airola Vineyards' (and it's staff) exceptionalism from the roof tops. I am convinced this is one of the most romantic places on planet Earth.

We forgot our bialetti and were worried we wouldn't be able to have coffee but the tiny homes had Bialettis as well as kettles, air fryers, great sized fridges, plus the cutest decor! We also had the most amazing assistance with staff who are on call, help with where to get my car fixed, great recommendations for breakfast and sites. We felt so looked after. There's so many areas to explore nearby, but also just using the pool/BBQ/Pickleball courts at the main house was so much fun. It was an incredible weekend and highly recommend to anyone wanting a little get away.

We went to the Ice Rink at the Long Barn Lodge this past weekend, it was my first time visiting the…read moreice rink up here. It is a smaller rink, but perfect for beginners, or spending the afternoon with the kids. This was the first time I been on the ice since I was 10 and it is much harder than I remembered. It was my boyfriends first time ice skating and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. The kids enjoyed it - the youngest in our party had just turned 3 and he was killing it - doing better than most of us. The cost is minimal $20/person and that includes skate rentals. You can also rent the skate helpers for the kids or the adults who are learning. I ended up using one for a while as it was much more difficult to glide on the ice than I remembered. The kids had so much fun, even asking when we could come back or if they can take ice skating classes. We plan on returning before they close for the season.

It is up in the mountains which is a nice and relaxing drive. While I can't comment on the actual lodge since we did not stay, I can comment on how awesome the skating rink is. The owner has been working the skating rink for 45 years! The skating rink is indoors and massive! The have a small office inside where you sign waivers, pay and get your skates. They offer what I like to call "walkers" for the less experienced skaters for an additional $5. The skating fee is $15 plus $5 for skates per person, but there is no time limit on how long you can stay. There is also an indoor seating area that is warmer where you can people watch, but they also have another big area with tables and chairs. We were very impressed with this place and the staff! We'll be back during New Years and plan to visit again! Dress warm if you visit - it is very cold indoors!

What an amazing resort tucked up away in the mountains within Tuolumne County…read more I've lived up here most my life , my entire childhood , I never knew this place was here, lol. (they need someone on social media, i would think) But this resort is a gem away from daily routine of the normal daily life and great relax at the pool, nice swim , quick dip, or maybe a little relaxation in the hot tub. from the world as we know it. lol. The pool is the heart of this resort , it really is , but sooo worth it. A nice beautiful waterfall on one side , with a cascading waterfall on the other side. looks all Natural, including the ground, looks like sand, and rock. Its beautiful... The pool has a shallow end but gets deeper fast. Pool has a nice lip that goes to the deep end from the shallow, it's roughly 2-3 feet deep for this ledge / lip. Middle of the pool is roughly 5 foot. Deep end is 8 feet deep. The main building is cool , nice hang out for kids or teenagers. lol. The cabin we were at, evergreen 1a was inside the pool area. Nice if you want to be close to the pool, but I can imagine it being noisy in peak season, just FYI. The cabin was nice, a little smaller than I thought but not bad. Totally worth the stay , 1 king size bed, bathroom / shower, small kitchen / Sink, mini fridge, cabinets / already has a few plates as well drink ware... maybe next time I will upgrade to the next cabin? Who knows, nice to have extra space if staying a few days or more. This place is worth the stay, if you like pools / spas , nice views, staying within the mountains and wilderness, but not camping, away from the crowds and lots of people ( that being said I have no idea how full this place gets in peek season. ) You are also within driving distance to Pinecrest, SOnora, and Columbia State Park. The resort is on side of the mountains if im remember right, so you have a small glimpse of whats through the trees, so if you are looking for a view of a lake, or mountain side / Canyon view, you wont find it here, that being said the view is still nice, specially in spring. But I do have to say the stars are amazing at night... Nature is flat out amazing , It was nice to sit out front of our cabin, drinking coffee, and watching the sun come up through the trees, little light rays dancing through the trees... I really liked Our stay here, the pool IS AMAZING, Seemed well kept up, clear water/ no junk in the water or leaves... The cabin was decent, little Rustic feel, which is pretty cool. But did have its issues. SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAD ----- Few things that needed to be fixed in the cabin, bathroom door wouldnt shut, stays open 2 to 3 inchs... lol Tv had issues connecting, or some error with the box, idk, and remote had dead batteries, tv wouldnt turn on, then replaced the batteries = tv turned on, but cable box or something had issues so couldnt really watch much, just a few channels, ( took batteries out of a gaming controller i had packed away in my bag, thus the batteries, lol ) I do feel like its Lacking something, and could have ALOT MORE potential. -- I think it would also have been nice to have some of the following, -- * Place seems a little dead, where are the staff? the office was evenm unstaffed , just had a sign list of names, and cabins, and a Map. (not sure if its staffed on super busy holidays, or summer?) They do have a number to contact someone , or the host of the property, no idea never called it, I like face to face communication better. * I think the place needs a slight uplift, some repairs, maybe few added things, ALL AND ALL, I would love to give this a 5 star review, but it just doesnt have that resort feel, or anything really going on from my experience that tells me this is a resort, (on the +plus+ side of things) it really is + Pool is EPIC + beautiful area, + great rock work with the pool, and surrounding area, + hanging lights to set a nice mood to things, + - A place for live music / band, but its empty on a spring weekend, so is the bar at the pool.. - No working bar, no drinks **** A resort is alot more then just a pool, its an experience, its all about the guests, drinks, foods, music... Again i am not here on a HUGE busy weekend, so it might be different for other people coming on in mid summer vs Mid MAy! However, we did view the room and the pool. Rooms are really nice, modern and clean. Pool area is a short walk away on the next block. Most impressive was the young hotel front desk clerk who was keeping it together in spite of a widespread power outage. ZOE! Awesome customer service and I personally witnessed her handle multiple complaints with grace. However, the square has a bit of an uncanny valley vibe which I'm sure was exacerbated by the lack of power (and people) - there was nobody around - so I don't think we would return? Like a... Disney, manufactured, Pleasantville feel? Just a lil off.

And if you're hoping for a nice view to make up for it, prepare to stare at a gas station. This place is a loud, smelly disappointment. Now I get why this area keeps going bankrupt. There's zero pride in service or hospitality here. Plenty of better places nearby--don't waste your time or money here.
