We brought a picnic and the fur babies and made a day of it! The only tiny complaint was the QR codes were scratched out so there was no way for people to pay for parking. A sign update is definitely needed but this was during the government shutdown so I'm sure that wasn't available. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, trails were in excellent shape, trash cans were pretty full due to all the people but not overflowing. If you can make it on a week day it would be a lot easier to find parking. This is an Oklahoma must do!

They have a carnival and inflatables for kids too. But this state park itself is one of my favorites. I've been going since I was a child, and the lake is so beautiful. I love to rent a paddleboat! They have yurts to rent, putt putt golf, and a snow cone/coffee stand that has become better and better over the years. The lookout kitchen is finally open after that whole debacle with the state, but I need to go back and try it. The building is beautiful though and right in the water. We've camped here in our RV too, and the spots are spacious, quiet, and very woodsy. It's always fun to hike up to the cave too. The history of this area is so cool. The trails are great, and there are options for ability levels. I always go green or yellow. You can often find people rappelling too! Definitely give this state park a try.

We rented from Gypsy Canoe (see my review). Until we get more experience, we'll continue to rent from Gypsy. The Kayak Park has a few rapids for exposure. You can actually roll if you don't maneuver in the Dwight section if it. The good news is the water is fairly calm so there's no scary current to drag and keep you under. The climbing wasn't necessary, just part of some of our fun. From the parking lot area, we went up the hill towards the trees, away from the lake, and the trails they had there were well marked, but not particularly wide walking paths like Turkey Mountains'. If you are in the mood to feel like you are exploring nature "off the beaten path" while still being on a trail, this is a great place to do it! I will be going again!

Belle Starr Camp Site at #C 12 had plenty of lake view coverage, trees, and a cement slab with a walled patio for outside eating. We spent this visit with friends and met other fellow nice campers too. There was so many things we did. This was definitely too much to take in. Perfect weather. Perfect views. Have a great time!!

My husband and I took a road-trip across the Southwest and shared in a multitude of adventures to and from. One stop on the leg of our travels included a visit to Lake Eufaula. It is one of the largest man made lakes in the nation and it offered a quiet and serene respite. We chose to rent a cabin with a stunning lake view. The treehouse style residence came with a park pass for recreational use. We were reminded by the locals to bring "deep woods" when visiting the area. We purchased the "Off" to keep mosquitos and chiggers as suggested "off"! Part of this trip was business and part of it was pleasure, but the biggest piece was a chance to have some healing time to grieve the loss of my mom. Grief is a long and winding road that takes time to manuever and never quite ends. I found some comfort in staying in such a peaceful place. And, I truly believe my mom was that redbird that visited daily during our stay at Lake Eufaula. #LakeEufaula #ManMade #DeepWoods #RedBird

Our space #59 was a pull through. There are several others on this row. This area of Oklahoma is really beautiful with lots of trees and rolling hills. Our hosts were so accommodating and nice. They helped us change sites, find the dump site and even brought us free firewood! We will be back!
