Made reservation for 730pm. Arrived at 716pm. Was told it "would be a while". No problem. Had a seat and watched several parties seated ahead of us. Inquired at 735 and was told "you never checked in". Very frustrating. Requested outdoor seating and was never offered outdoor seating. Got a table and asked the staff if things would improve,but sadly they did not. Food did not arrive at table until 830pm. Just not a great experience and I was so disappointed. My husband and I recently dined at Lakepoint. They are properly wearing masks and doing their part to keep guests properly distanced. In the past, the food had been just okay. This visit was in the evening and everything from appetizers to desserts was wonderful. We like this place because of the lake views and are looking forward to a return visit soon. Went for Brunch 2/18 and everything we ate was good, we'll worth the price. There were 10 of us including two kids. Staff was great attentive but not overly checking up on us. Sorry no pictures maybe next time. We will be going back for dinner and some upcoming special events. read more

Chef Jerry has come with another great menu. Was there last night again and scallops, chicken, shrimp and steak was ordered by my family and all was extremely good! On a side note I'm not a big fan of coconut pie but it was by far the best we have ever had! And my daughters shrimp and scallops were under $15... great prices and bottles of wine are 50% off. Went to Lakepoint a couple of weeks ago for a family Birthday dinner. We went 30 mins before our reservation to have drinks on the deck which was very nice. They have a large drink selection and large wine menu. There were five of us we started out with the Rosemary fried fingerling potatoes and the Asian Mushrooms both excellent. We all had a salad one had the special pressed watermelon salad, two had the Bibb and Blue Salad and one had the Spinach Salad all were delicious. They also served crusty hot rolls which were really good. Our dinners were the Stuffed Trout, the Muscles with Angel Hair Pasta, two of us had the Flat Iron Steak and one had the New York Steak all were very good!! Cooked perfectly. Will definitely make Lakepoint a regular destination. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Lakepoint. We made reservations but we're seated early when we arrived. The restaurant was packed, so it's understandable that service was slow. The food was good. My husbands steak wasn't anything to write home about, but this place isn't a steakhouse. I got the Swedish meatballs which were very good. The mashed potatoes are THE best I've ever had, hands down! Overall it was a nice experience and we would go back if we lived closer. The food is good, and the server we had was very friendly. But it took 10 minutes to get drinks, 15 minutes to get our order, it took an hour to get our food, then when our food came out, they brought our salad, appetizer, and dinner all at the same time. Seems like the two waitresses they had were all working on this group of six next to us. Very unorganized. So, we only got one refill and they give you these tiny glasses. We ordered the dinner for two, pork chops, it was very good but only enough sides for one person. We got six Brussels sprouts and half a cup of sweet potato. It tasted great but you only got a few bites. This place has amazing food but the two times we have gone, it has been the same. Unorganized and long waits with no refills. Really want to like this place as it is close to the house the setting is nice and the view out over the lake is just beautiful. I'd like to support it so it stays open but not with the quality of food that is being served. The first few times were ok but the last few have been less than desirable. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with jasmine rice and chefs choice of vegetable. It was not eatable. Sent it back and was so grossed out I didn't order a replacement. I've had stuffed shrimp before at other restaurants and it usually comes out as a shrimp with a fried crab stuffing around it. This came out as small shrimp with a wet cold mushy crab concoction spooned on top with what was supposed to be a hollandaise sauce. It was not hollandaise sauce. Tasteless butter and flour sauce was more like it. It was not served on jasmine rice but more like 5 minute white rice. The chefs vegetable looked like a machine cut vegetable medley straight from the can. I tried one shrimp with the crab and sauce and it was just gross. I worried I would get sick so sent it back. The presentation was so awful too. I should have taken a picture but was so appalled I just didn't think of it. If you look at the picture of this dish in the photo section, it looked NOTHING like it and it is clear to me now that the crab was not cooked at all. At least that person got real vegetables! Mine looked like something a toddler put together. My husband had a steak that we were told would be at least an inch thick but it came out quite thin and over cooked. I'm just embarrassed for Lakepoint about this entire meal. They graciously took the shrimp dish back and did not charge us but said everyone has different tastes. This was not about a difference in taste. They should really take this dish off the menu and probably stick to bar food. They just don't have the money to try and be fancy. Want to go back but not sure I can stomach it after that. read more

Okay, here is the promised follow-up review which sadly, removed a couple of stars. We've been back to Lakepoint two times since our original giddy review, the second time, to dig deeper into the menu by ordering a proper meal, and third time, to grab a glass of wine and one of the appetizers we loved on our first visit. Second visit: Service was delightful from Josh, though we heard him singing to another table as we were leaving and wondered what charms we had held back (Just kidding, but he does have a lovely voice)! As vegetarians, we had the option of salad, mushroom pasta, cauliflower...and cauliflower...and...uh oh. I guess we'll have salad and resist the temptation to order the insanely delicious cauliflower appetizer we had on our first visit so one of us can order the cauliflower steak entrée...then the other can order the "other" veggie entrée, the mushroom pasta. Whew! Okay, variety of some kind finally achieved and without committing a crime of cauliflower overkill. The salads were okay. Frankly not spectacular but serviceable. The cauliflower steak? A disappointing version of this culinary craze. Bland and disconnected from the sauce rather than elevated by it. The mushroom pasta? Bingo! Sublime. Perfectly-cooked, fat ribbons of pasta with savory, delicious mushrooms. Simple and simply delicious. So, food-wise, Lakepoint gets cred for even "going there" with the veg-friendly options but could go a bit further...and wider...and deeper. Visit #3 took another star off. Headed to the outdoor patio where on our first visit we had received such delightful service from a dedicated server. This time, we waited. And waited. And waited. A gentleman from the other table (two couples) finally went inside to get help, ensuring that help would eventually arrive but that it would probably be directed toward the couple's table despite the fact that we arrived first. Not being petty, just realistic at that point that the wait would continue. Up we went, off to the car to head home. Not a word from the server. Not a good visit. We'll probably try again but not as a "first resort". read more

Had a blast (pun intended) at their 4th of July event. The service was great, the buffet about average, the view spectacular. What I appreciated the most was that the event was not 'oversold' in terms of allowed attendees. The tickets were not inexpensive but the experience was improved by not having to fight a huge crowd that would overwhelm the enjoyment of the facility. The convenience of the location will keep this one on our list and we look forward to diving deeper into the regular menu. Comments from the locals that I hear seem to focus on portion size, especially the shrimp dish (3 pieces). I know many are used to the huge portions served by many restaurants which allow patrons to have sufficient leftovers for a 2nd meal at home. I expect with the feedback that they are likely to receive, management will find a balance that allows them to be successful. Catering is what will make the numbers on the cost of the renovation work, having a nice place for the locals to enjoy is the icing on the cake and likely break even at best. read more

What a nice surprise in Bella Vista! Beautiful space, great views, and quality food! I'd read some of the more critical reviews posted here and was lowering my expectations, but they were exceeded! The service has some rough edges but it's to be expected at this stage ... they've not been open long. That said, the servers are very friendly and I think they're off to a good start here. I found the prices reasonable, the dishes interesting and the local ingredients to be of high quality. I enjoyed it so much last night I went back tonight and liked it even more! The Lake Point restaurant is a great spot for Sunday brunch, dinner or drinks. Good food and a great view, it doesn't get much better.

I've heard a ton about this place and was excited to try it out. Kind of a let down. We were told servers times that they were short handed but it didn't seem that way at all. They weren't that many customers in there tonight and they seemed well staffed for that. I ordered the surf and turf Andrew waiter asked what salad I would like. Ok, I didn't realize it came with a salad so I said Italian; he hesitated so I assumed I needed to get one of the ones listed so I ordered the spinach. Husband did the same. Guess what we found out. It doesn't come with a salad. So that's fine but ask us if we would like to ADD a salad not what salad would you like. Surf and turf was ok but I felt like my food was cold. The mash potatoes were basically a thin line and served as glue to the tiny asparagus that served as the bridge for the charred medium rare steak. Overall I don't believe we'll be back. The location is great but the seats are so packed together and the service was overall lacking. read more

I am always hopeful when coming to Lakepoint and sadly always disappointed. We came for brunch today and while the mimosa was good the chicken and waffle was extremely disappointing. I have never tasted a more disgusting waffle ever. If management were to try their own food they wouldn't send it out. Not to mention it was more like a pancake...and tasted like playdoh. I'm sorry but waffles are not that hard to make. The fruit tasted like it had vinegar on it and was also inedible. Looking for a romantic lakeside view with great sunsets? We found it with Lakepoint. We arrived before our intimate anniversary dinner celebration so retired outside and made a champagne toast to each other along with appetizers. The pork on a bone with dipping sauce choices is a must. I salivate just thinking about it now. After our sunset dining experience we explored the wine bar that also has indoor and outdoor seating and food is served. The menu is for foodies like ourselves but the basic palate can appreciate what they offer as well. Next day we reflected on how much we enjoyed the evening's ambiance, service and food. My husband and I thought of people we knew would appreciate a Lakepoint experience . We have heard that their Sunday brunch is very popular. Guess what we plan to do! read more

Went for brunch today while visiting parents. So glad we went and plan to go again. There was a salad station with field greens and Caesar options as well as cut, raw veggies; a hot bar with old bay potatoes, yellow rice, bacon, sausage links, seasonal roasted veggies, veggie frittata; a waffle station with blueberry, walnuts and chocolate chip options; an omelet station and then French rolls and several cookies and brownie options as well as gazpacho. Best ever - No. Good - absolutely. Just not sure brunch because no carved meat or any chicken or other option that speaks to lunch. I had been longing to come to this place for such a long time and I so wanted to like it. The location and view of this restaurant is nothing short of stunning. It transports you to a different world all together. But probably that's the only thing why this restaurant is still in business. That's probably also the only reason I even gave a star. So let's talk about food. I was particularly interested in trying out food here since I had read raving reviews about the chef. But I guess the food and the service were so disappointing that even the stunning view can't be a saviour. We ordered a simple flat bread sandwich with pepper, onion, spinach and Swiss cheese. How difficult it is to understand that. Our server Amber said, since the order is complicated it would take time for the food to arrive. Our other orders included French toast, waffle, eggs Benedict, side of eggs and muffin. The muffin were stale. I could make far better French toast myself and the waffle seemed like a dead zombie. Oh! And yes, how can I forget the banana nut muffin that I had ordered for my daughter. The sever actually brought it from the kitchen in her bare hands. She did not even bother to get a plate and gave it to us in our hands. God! Save this restaurant. Also, we got our order almost after a little more than an hour...that was of course was because our order was complicated. There are other things I could add which went wrong but I guess for now I will stop here because obviously I am not returning back ever and would warn others too. I do not believe I have ever dined at a place where I left more stressed after the experience than before. This is the first time we have been here and we were hoping it would become "our place" when we had a chance to dine out. However, we will continue looking. Service was HORRIBLE and food was just okay. We did not ask for much but had to keep asking multiple times before we recieved it and in general the service was way too slow. We did speak with the manager and he quickly apologized but really did not seem to care and he went on his way. Spent a lovely evening last nite there. Service excellent but not intrusive. Mark was our server, a real pro. Food excellent and beautifully presented, especially the green salad with crimson beet curls. Portions just right now. Hubby had the cod which was a thick oiece and well cooked. We took our friends, new residents of BV, to dinner on Saturday, our first time with the new chef/menu. Service was excellent, food was very good but it seemed bizarre that the bar was out of J&B Scotch and Dewars, arguably, two very good blended scotchs, commonly always found in bars and certainly on a Saturday night! So, we were 'forced' to go to a single-malt, which is always good, but was wondering if this was/in the liquor management plan to 'move' scotch drinkers to the more expensive scotch. Seriously??? Out of J&B and Dewars?? Otherwise, the menu selections, preparation, presentation and enjoyment was good. The waitstaff was excellent. read more

This restaurant has a great view, fun wine tasting bar, and outside bar patio. There is a happy hour from 4 to 6 where well drinks are $3. Bella Vistans get 10% off their food if they show their member card, but this restaurant is open to all. It might be a little hard to find off US 71 but follow the signs to Lakepoint Complex and you'll get there. It's worth the 4 mike drive off the highway for the view, Good food, and reasonable prices. All the food is farm to table as much as possible and is very nicely prepared and presented. There are a variety of items including fish, shrimp, steaks, and pork. All are reasonably priced ... they will even allow you to split entrees. They do have some "kids" items, but this is more of an adult dining experience. I had the stuffed trout and totally enjoyed it. Salad is not included, but they have a number of interesting salads that you can get in half sizes (which are still larger and taste way better than a typical included dinner salad). It's worth a trip from Bentonville/Rogers. read more

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while - mostly due to its gorgeous setting on Loch Lomond in Bella Vista, Arkansas. I'll start with what was good. We all enjoyed our entrees - and I loved the option of small plates for lighter appetites! There was a nice variety on the menu. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. We had the BBQ Baby Back Ribs, the Surf and Turf Skewers, and the Grilled Sirloin. All delicious. However, it seemed like once we were seated and placed our order, we were forgotten for a bit. We waited patiently, then the server showed up with our entrees, but we had been expecting the salads we ordered. The server (and other staff) were very apologetic, nice people, they just seemed either inexperienced or understaffed. But they offered compensation by way of complimentary "Sweet Shots" which were yummy. We did notice, when we received the check, that the salads were still there and had to ask for them to be removed. Again, plenty of courtesy and apologies, but we had looked forward to trying the salads, especially their Caprese. Since the food was good and the view spectacular, and the staff courteous, we'll probably give this another go. read more

I really wanted to like this newly opened, upscale restaurant (something that's sorely lacking in Bella Vista) but was disappointed. It's a beautiful setting and the staff are super friendly but the food... high prices, few and odd choices and not fresh ingredients. I had the spinach salad and my hubby the bibb and blue salad to begin. My spinach was limp and about 1/3 of it was inedible because it was wilted, even slimy. UGH!!! His bibb lettuce was equally tired and limp. After our salads, we asked for bread or crackers or something to cleanse our palates so we could enjoy our wine but were told the chef doesn't believe in providing bread because he doesn't want his clientele to fill up on it???? Does he not understand that vinaigrette and wine don't mix? A palate cleanser is essential between a salad course and other courses if one's drinking wine. Oh well, on to the main course. The choices are very limited and somewhat odd. Lamb burger and wagyu burger were on the menu for dinner (which is the only meal served daily) in addition to 2 fish dishes, one chicken, flatiron steak (no strip, or rib or filet?), a pork chop, and mushroom pappardelle. I had the mushroom pappardelle and it was good enough but not particularly well seasoned. It also had 3 long thyme stems buried in the dish which had I not found I might have choked on. My husband's salmon was okay although somewhat oily and of stingy portions. Dessert choices were very limited as well and didn't include anything we would have enjoyed. So, all in all, a disappointing meal that cost a lot. When will chefs learn that good fresh food, prepared and cooked well, is what people will come back to eat time and again? Not particularly good or fresh fancy food, odd limited choices and high prices will drive people away. We won't be back again. read more

This is now the best restaurant between New Orleans to the south and Chicago to the north. We started with cocktails outside on the deck, with a spectacular view over the lake. Sitting around a fire pit, the Masters golf tournament on the big screen TV above. Chatting with old friends and new acquaintances, all smiling and laughing. Moving indoors for dinner, next to huge windows with similar views of the lake, we began with appetizers - edamame and chunky, flavorful roasted tomato soup. A bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay (at the retail price - how do they do that?). Main courses of Whiskey salmon on a mixed green salad and glazed pork chops (2 huge ones) over sweet potato puree and mixed vegetables (one of them now in my fridge for tomorrow). Shared dessert - blueberry galette (fancy pastry) with ice cream. Friendly, professional, attentive service. Unbelievably cool wine bar at the far end, with outside tables and rocking chairs overlooking the lake and wedding pavilion. The bill for dinner, with the bottle of Rombauer, $113. Crazy. Delicious.
