I have been seeing Dr Kerry for my dogs. She is amazing and takes great care of them. My little ones don't like men and can be snappy but they seem ok with her. I saw her when she was at another practice and was devastated when she left but I didn't know where she went. Was so happy when I found her again!! My male cat, Pacey, fell and could not use his leg. He was diagnosed as having thrown a blood clot into his front leg and a heart issue. Of course, all heart tests were negative. The bottom line was that my cat needed his leg amputated. After spending $5,000 and seeing 3-4 vets for more testing (negative again), no one would amputate the cat's leg, fearing he would die because of his bad heart. Very frustrating. Pacey was in pain and his skin was coming off. His leg was too damaged for leg surgery. Finally, we went to Lakes Animal Clinic. They looked at all of Pacey's records and did not believe he had a bad heart. They immediately amputated the leg, and he was fine. That was over a year ago, and Pacey is perfectly healthy. This is a small animal clinic that we have used intermittently over the years for our pets, mostly for vaccinations and routine situations. We love going here because it's much cheaper and the Veterinarians and technicians are so educational and compassionate. It used to be that you would bring your pet or pets in a waiting room and sit for a long time. Now due to the pandemic you sign in when you arrive on a clipboard outside and they call you when it's your time The wait is still long hit honestly more comfortable waiting in your car. My bulldog is very dog aggressive and this works so nicely for us. They are wonderful to our animals and us! When things are well we receive positive feedback and when we need coaching they provide education and tips for us. This is not a pretentious overpriced veterinarian office! read more

I usually love the attention here , and today's opinion is heavily influenced by my worry about my cat. I arrived at 530 and it's now 7 and we are still waiting. Ahead of us we had a foster care group who brought in about 12 pets. This would be ok if this place had appointments , but it's first come first served and they have a sign up that says they have a 2-pet limit. My cat is in pain and I don't mind having to wait. It's the way it works here , but I wish they'd Honor their policy and keep the 2-pet limit and make accomodations/appointments for organizations that need to bring in a big groups of foster babies. Dr. Deisher took amazing care of our micro bully yoko, who had a blockage that we all thought would require surgery and a long recovery time for our very active 1 1/2 yrs old pup. All the other vets in the area were quoting 2k minimum without surgery and upto 5k we walked out after a 3 day vet stay paying less than the minimum the others quoted! Today I took my dog to get her yearly shots. No appointment needed the wait time was not long. The doctor had a gentle soul and very easy to talk to. He calls you first to see what is needed for your pet. I already recommended Lake Animal Clinic to one person and will continue to tell about how personable the staff is. Very cost effective and people are generally nice. However, I just can't deal with the long waits, NO phone service, every time I call it's busy. I'll pay a bit extra and go elsewhere to be able to speak to someone on the phone and not wait so darn long. Also, my visit feel rushed. read more

Great little place! We have been taking our dog here for the last few years. The staff is super friendly and the doctors are very warm and inviting. Most small animal vets are extremely expensive, but Lakes is very fairly priced. They help make animal care affordable for any family income level! Sometimes a trip to the vet can be very pricey which is why many families push back the vet care their furry family member needs. No need to push back any medical attention if you go here! We love them! The only small detail some customers may have an issue with is that they do not take appointments. They go by the "first come, first served" rule. Honestly, when you can save as much as you do here on the bill, we have never minded waiting. Today we showed up at 1pm when they reopened after lunch and walked right in! It just depends on the day. Read a lot of reviews on here and was a bit worried of taking my cat to the place when he gotten really sick. Walked early in the morning in the pouring rain over a mile and a half and cross the busy street to get to it. There was a lot of cars ahead of me and it is a first come first serve basic. A doctor came out and I ask them how many where ahead of me and they said a lot, then they saw I walked there in the rain with my cat in my little shopping cart. They took pity and allowed me in first and lead me through the back door. Once they got my cat on the exam table they check him out and gotten an x-ray done, they found out his bladder exploded. It was just, gone. If they tried sugary, there would very little chance of him surviving. He was over 10 and a half years old, so even then I knew he would be suffering in pain. The doctor was very kind and talked me through this as we decide the best thing to do is put my cat down. They were patient with me while I mourned and allowed me to be with him til his final breath. Then one of the head vets drove me home even though he didn't have too. I want to thank them for allowing my cat to be at peace now and not in no more pain. read more

Lovely people. Treated my sweet Persephonie wonderfully. Very reasonable cost for three shots, an annual check up and nail clipping of my little warrior kittie. She's always been a bit sassy, as the nice people here nicely put it, in her attitude. Her first visit to the vet as a tiny kitten, they dubbed her a warrior kittie. She's never made it easy to handle her. Doesn't like being picked up even with people she adores. Except for my son. Barely a peep from her. And they handled her very gently and well. A very nontraumatic vet visit for her. She was perfectly happy after being brought back from getting her nails clipped. Dr. Shannon was very attentive and talked over all my concerns over her chronically stinky since birth halitosis and her overall dental hygiene for the future. She gave me tips on diet and let me know about cats actually NEEDING grains due to them eating grass and such in the wild. Otherwise they are at risk of heart disease. Thank goodness I know and only just took her off grains that the dodo trend has been a few months ago. All the other pet parents were nice and friendly just like the staff. Everyone else had a dog and just laughed in a friendly way over Sephie's couple of grumbles about the dogs. Be prepared to get there early if you don't want to wait as many have mentioned that it's first come, first served. No appointments. Everyone is great about the honor system of who was there first. And the staff gets through everyone efficiently yet takes care with your babies. They even took pets that just needed to pick up meds or get shots quickly first in one of the two exam rooms to prioritize and move people out quickly. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I have nothing bad to say about Lakes Animal Clinic. The veterinarians are very well educated and are very open to listening to whatever problems or concerns you may have. Now, as some other reviewers have mentioned, it is first come, first served, meaning that you are seen in the order you arrived, which can take an upwards of a couple of hours to be seen. This applies to phone calls too. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get through because they are always so busy. However, they do make exceptions for life threatening emergencies. With the quality of care your pet receives, this is more then acceptable to me. The prices are also very reasonable. A visit for a check up will only cost a fraction of what it would cost at another Vet, and this also applies to medications. Overall, if you don't mind the wait and slightly small rooms, this is a wonderful vet that will make sure your pet has the best care around. read more

I brought my dog in yesterday to be put to sleep. When we finally got to the room, they left me alone with him for about 5 minutes to say good-bye. They put him on the table for me as I had a shoulder replacement 3 weeks ago. I was told that they would give him 2 shots, the first by a tech, and then the Dr. would come in and administer the 2nd shot. The tech came in and gave the 1st shot and then left me alone. I was expecting him to get tired and to lay down, but he collapsed and his back legs fell off the table as I was talking to him and holding his head. I hurt my arm trying to get him back on the table as he was dead weight. I had to watch alone for about 10 minutes as his eyes stayed open but unconscious, with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. No one came in to be with me until he had stopped breathing and began to have seizures. It was horrifying to watch my lovely dog go through this. It was not peaceful or supportive to me in such a difficult time. I can't get this horrible picture out of my mind. I had always experienced lots of compassion with my other animals at other vets along with an IV and IV meds where my pets close their eyes and just peacefully stop breathing. I was also asked if I wanted his ashes, which I refused, and was asked if a mass cremation was OK. It seems like another way of wording this would have been more compassionate. read more

I used to bring my cats here and over the years I moved and could no longer. This review is about my parents dog and my good friends dog. Lakes Animal clinic is not what your expecting. It maybe reasonable and all but they are killing pets. I'll start with my friends dog. They brought him in a week day with some eye problems was provided medicine and dog became worse and Lakes took dog and was misdiagnosing the dog along. My friends bill was close to 5 grand and nothing had changed dog became worse and eventually vet at lakes said we need to put dog down. The dog was 5 yrs old. How does something as easy as a eye issue turn into the dog being euthanized? The 2nd incident happened with my parents small 10 yr old dog. It was having some issues they misdiagnosed the dog put on wrong medicine and dog became worse and eventually died at my parents house. The sad reality is a place maybe cheap and for the money it seems worth it but it isn't. 2 pets were involved and both dead because of the lack of knowledge this vet has. Anyone reading this go to this vet at your own risk and the risk of your pet. read more

Lakes Animal Clinic is one of the best I've found! To review it fairly though, you cannot compare it to fancy Vet Clinics motivated by making money. Lakes is a small town walk-in clinic (no appointments, no receptionist) that keeps overhead costs low, so they are able to provide great veterinary care to their patients at VERY low prices. There are 3 regular Vets, & each works incredibly hard to give the best care to their patients, & also to accommodate the needs of their patient's owners. I've taken all 4 of my dogs there x6 yrs, from puppy to senior, & the care has often been better than we received at regular high price Vet Clinics, & the Vets spend just as much time w/your animal. So if you don't mind the no appointments policy, & having to wait a bit, & if you're looking for great care at lower prices, I highly recommend Lakes! read more

The wait was far too long (I waited 1 1/2 hrs and I was the 4th person to walk in) and the staff was rude and rushed. On the plus side though, they are very cheap. I paid half what I would have paid at any other vet. But, personally, I'd prefer to pay a little more for someone to take time with me and my pet and talk through things. read more

We have been going here forever! Since we have first gotten a dog, and no matter what the Vets understand all of our worries and concerns, and know our pets by name without having to look at a chart to confirm. Since we are an avid hunting family, it is nice to know that they are on top of helping us make sure we have all the vaccines we need, and making sure that our babies are at the highest level of health possible before and after the season! With my introducing a new breed into our family, and then living in a new area, I was less than pleased to have to go to a new vet, and now that I am back in the area, I am fully excited to be able to bring my new bundle of joy into them... They were very accommodating with helping me transfer all his records, and making sure he was up to date on all his vaccines and helping me find an even cheaper way to get him neutered, with out sacrificing his health or the integrity of the procedure. Yes, I love the prices and most of the vets, but the wait times are ridiculous. My sick dog needs to recover just from waiting for hours in a small room with other sick, stressed animals. With all the modern technology available it wouldn't take much to set up a website or app to allow people to sign up online and see the wait times. People without internet access could still be an exception. In the morning a simple system of numbers - or even number the parking spots. SOMETHING. read more

All I would like to say is we are so thankful Lakes was there for our four legged friend this week. It was time to let our Benny go and my experience was more then I expected.
