Collected quotes for a new telluride order from multiple dealerships in the area. Finally got one at MSRP. Contacted Lakeshore and told them I have an MSRP quote, if you can match it I'll order with you. Via email they said "Need you to come in, wouldn't be a wasted trip." I went in person and they wouldn't budge from 4k over MSRP. So let me get this straight, I told you I have a quote for MSRP (printed, proven one from other dealership) and you made me drive an hour out of my way just do do a bait and switch that wasn't even in the same ballpark? I actually wish I could this review could have ZERO stars. My fiancé an I saw a car online that matched what we were looking for. I scheduled a test drive Friday in the evening. With pending excitement we didn't even mind the hour 1/2 traffic ride to get there! ... we arrived on the lot an a sales person was outside an helped us immediately. I showed the gentleman the vin of the car I researched an he got the keys an we looked inside. I asked a couple questions an mentioned the sticker price on the car. The salesperson said without hesitation, the sticker price is incorrect at 32,040 an that it was actually 39,000. I asked the man if he was joking . He assured me that he wasn't. I then asked for a manager an was told that one was not on site. I got so upset that I previously spoke to someone that assured me the car was for sale at the price advertised, otherwise I would have not waste my time or gas to go test drive it. Completely frustrated! .... However, I took a chance an went to another dealership near Kia and ended up driving away with SUV that night. I would NOT recommend buying a vehicle from Lakeshore Kia in Slidell, LA strictly due to their inadequate Service Department. I had a great buying experience 10 months ago when I purchased my car brand new from Lakeshore Kia in Slidell. When my check engine light came on at only 16k miles, I had a completely different experience with their Service Department. When I arrived at the dealership, I was told that they had no available appointments for 16 days. I asked the service technician if he could at least run the code to see what triggered the check engine light. I wanted to ensure that the car was safe to drive for another 16 days, but he refused to do so. The only explanation he offered was that maybe I had left my gas cap off. I have been driving for over 30 years, and at no point have I ever left my gas cap off. I am a conscientious car owner who will not continue to drive a vehicle with a check engine light on. I called Dean McCrary Kia in Hattiesburg, MS who offered me a service appointment the very next day. Don't waste your time or money at Lakeshore Kia in Slidell. Their Service Department is closed on Saturdays and if your check engine light comes on you might have to wait for over 2 weeks to determine the cause! read more

My wife and I went to purchase a new vehicle for her and I can say without any hesitation that this dealership is absolutely unethical and ripping people off in the worst way possible. We were referred to them from a mutual acquaintance also in the car industry. (We will get to that later.) To start we saw a 2023 kia forte gt online listed at an msrp of around 25k. When we went to the dealership the car was stickered at 27,010. Still not a great way to start the experience but i thought what the heck. After a test drive the wife decided on a car we sat down with the salesman Eldridge to go over numbers. Not long after they come back and hit us with a final number just over 34k. I also work in sales so i expressed my issue with the pricing and wanted the 3k market value addition removed. I was told that they would have to leave that on the deal to get us to the monthly note that we wanted so they could move numbers around, so I figured I would just see what they were going to offer. Needless to say after sitting down with bruce in the finance office they hit us with an outrageous interest rate ( we dont have horrible credit ) that had we purchased would have put us paying well over 55k for a 27 thousand dollar car. I told them that was not going to work and we left. Fast forward to the day after. Apparently the person who made the referral for us must have said something and all of a sudden they were willing to sell us the car at MSRP of 27,010. Like a blind fool i thought ok, now we are talking. Lets go get the car. Nope! Wrong Again. They only wanted to drop the interest rate 2 points and when we asked for a purchase order to take to our own financial institute for a better interest rate, not only did the manager Marty not give us one, but now all of sudden he would not honor the deal of MSRP if we went through our own bank . He would not even tell us that himself he had eldridge call us with that lovely information. Total load of bull. That led me to believe that they lied the whole time about the actual sales price of the vehicle. ( They were never actually going to sell the car at MSRP.) Why else would you not want to move/sale a unit when all you had to do was give the buyer the purchase order and they would have sold a car that day. They are scamming people for thousands of dollars on their vehicles and had I not been in the sales industry myself I would have been completely unaware. We will never be going back to Kia of Slidell or any affiliated dealer on the service road ever again and will make sure that everyone we know takes their hard earned money elsewhere. We bought our last vehicle from them, but after this inquiry, we will never buy from them again. The management here were unapologetically unethical. They took a naturally crappy experience (dealing with a car salesperson) and managed to find a way to make it even worse. Note: this is a few days after Hurricane Ida. Their website listed a 2021 Forte at $18,785 (MSRP $19,785, KIA discount of $1000.) They contacted us and wanted to set up a meeting. After going through the whole process and making their 'offer', they added a $3000 "Environmental Pack fee'. We ascertained that the 'Environmental Pack' is the mechanism by which they charge people prices above the MSRP. Ideologically, I'm a fairly hardcore capitalist, so I don't mind them charging above MSRP after a natural disaster. I understand there are market forces at play that may justify them charging something above MSRP right now. The issue here is that they are not being up-front about this increase, which is a HUGE deviation from the standard of buying below MSRP, and are wasting people's time. If you want to charge us $22k for a $19k MSRP car, fine. Tell us up-front that you charge 15% above MSRP or whatever. It's not a fee, however. It's not covering any extra features, and it's not covering a regulatory requirement. It's just a way to mask the mark-up, and it's deceptive and dishonest. When we took issue with this, the manager basically told us that they have many more people lined up, and they didn't care. I guess they feel like some people who lost their car from hurricane Ida will show up after us, and pay whatever fee they ask. Do yourself a big favor, and find a more honest dealership. read more

In all my years of purchasing vehicles never have I encountered such terrible sales practices. You walk in looking for a low end vehicle so you can have an affordable monthly note and that's the end of what you came in to accomplish. Needless to say nothing was as advertised. Cars we wanted were no longer on sale, the ones we wanted to see were sold or the keys were lost. Hours of never ending excuses. Things that were on the vehicle and we had to buy were not shown on the sticker price of the car. Everything was extra and even the interest rate eventually became higher by 2%, We did not get the $2000 discount we were told we would get. They pushed GAP insurance because you are stupid if you don't take it and an additional 5 year bumper to bumper warranty because the advertised 5 year warranty was just a marketing tool. That warranty is not that great, so we were told. When we complained about these things (and so much more) the finance manager was terribly rude. If I could give a "no star" review, I would. Erica H My Kia Sorento was just recently serviced there, and the service was great. The staff was nice, as soon as I arrived everyone greeted me with a Good Morning. My car was being serviced under a factory covered warranty issue, and also there was recall that I was unaware of. I was told that the work was going to take several hours, and to expect to be there for quite awhile. Although it did take awhile to complete the work, but it was completed quicker than expected. The service manager was very informative, keeping me update about the status of my car. I would definitely recommend taking your car there to be serviced. read more

I bought my daughter her dream car last night at Kia of Slidell and I promise I will never buy a vehicle there again. The salesperson Rachel was very nice but it all went south after. I financed through them to get a $1500 rebate. The financial guy Sean did not make it clear that when he chose another finance group besides Kia I did not get the rebate. When I questioned this he was trying to say I should have realized this. He got aggravated quickly and told me to bring my car back and we can tear up the papers and I could be on my way. I told him he was rude. He must have had me on speaker phone because then a person introduced himself as "Marty Quezergue sales manager". He was just as aggravated and also told me to bring my car back if I felt I wasn't treated right and he hung the phone up on me. Went in ready to buy the car! Thought we had everything worked out. Then Kyle the manager got involved. Suddenly the price for the car was several thousand more than advertised. Refused to remove scam dealer add ons unless we financed through the dealership. He'd be picking the best deal for us, but we'd have to put less down and finance more than $10k. Then he even tried to convince us it's illegal to fill out the application off site and return with it. (That's why Kia's website has an online financing application I can do from my bedroom in my underwear at 2 am while drinking my favorite cocktail, right?) I left so angry I'm not even sure I'd be able to trust this dealership not to cheat me over an oil change, and I'm even madder 6 hours later. If I could select 0 stars I would. I have used this location twice for an oil change and both times something has gone wrong with my vehicle. The first time was in 2019 I came back to my vehicle after a long day of work while pregnant and all of my oil was on the ground. At the time I did not want to drive it due to not knowing if they had any oil left in my vehicle. They got a tow truck to bring the vehicle in and discovered that they screwed on the cap too tight and clipped the filter. This situation was fixed. Now, April 16, 2021 I bring my vehicle to get serviced for an oil change again. It is now May 30, 2021 and I am driving on the interstate when my gas petal stops accelerating and my check engine light comes on. I pull over and my husband checks the vehicle and I literally have no oil in my vehicle at all. I still have between 1600-2000 more miles before my next recommended oil change so at this point I do not know why my oil is completely empty. We go to buy 5 quarts of oil and we use the whole container. The next day, May 31, 2021 I bring my car to Lakeshore Kia. I pull up and try to explain what is going on and tell the Service Advisor Philip that my vehicle did not have any oil at all in it and the coolant and wind shield wiper fluid levels are all low which I did not understand because they are supposed to top off all of these things during the multipoint inspection. The first thing Philip does is cut me off rudely while talking and said well your check engine light is on so the oil is probably burning quickly. I do not believe if the check engine light just came on and the oil was already empty that the oil burned away just that fast. I proceeded to ask him if someone would be able to run a diagnostic on my vehicle in which he explained that it would take about 2 weeks before they could even put it on a machine to see what is wrong with it due to having 13 other vehicles waiting that have been dropped off. I explained to him that I could not wait 2 weeks without knowing or having a vehicle. I asked if they would provide a vehicle for me to use if I left my vehicle to wait and Philip said they do not provide a vehicle until the run a test and they have to keep the vehicle at that point to fix it. The only reason I brought my vehicle back to this location is because they were the last people to touch my vehicle and I wanted them to see what the problem is. After getting the run around I called to see if I could talk to the general manager due to Philip stating he was not at the location. Upon calling the receptionist I was told that the General Manager was in a meeting and they would provide my message to him as soon as possible. The receptionist told me she would call me back before 12 noon if I haven't heard from the General Manager. I understand in their eyes it was Memorial Day and they probably did not want to work but this is an urgent matter in my eyes due to not having another vehicle to use to get to work across the lake everyday. I called again and stressed that I just need to get a test done on the vehicle to see what is wrong with the engine (not to fix the problem today) and someone by the name of Jonathan told me that if I bring the car back within the next 30 minutes that someone would be able to check it for me. When I pulled into the service area Philip asked me if I made my decision on what I was going to do (either leave it there for 2 weeks or not). The way he said this was not in a nice way. He has a very nasty attitude and I do not know why he is even in customer service. At this point, I reacted back with an attitude and told him a guy name Jonathan told me to come back and y'all would look at my vehicle. Philip stated that the answer is no that they cannot look at the vehicle today. He also said "I do not know what you are trying to do by calling and getting someone to say bring the vehicle in to work around what I told you but it's not going to happen". At this point I become furious because I drove my vehicle back there still not knowing what is wrong with it. I did not want to drive it because that may make things worst on the engine but I only brought it back because Jonathan told me they would check it. Philip explains that Jonathan is not authorized to make the decisions in the service department. I asked Philip why is Jonathan answering phone calls and talking to people if he is not authorized to do so and he just said I don't know. I asked him to send Jonathan out to talk to me face to face in which Philip told me that Jonathan has just left for lunch. At this point, I am getting the run around from everyone at this location and I have Philip telling me basically that I am a liar and making up stories that Jonathan told me to come in and he would help me. I bought a 2017 f250, AS IS - no warranty, from this dealership. The truck had 15k miles, and was about 60k in price. We were told the truck was well taken care of, and that it was a good solid truck. A week and a half later, we had transmission problems while out of town. $8,000 later, the transmission was replaced, and we had our truck back from 2 different shops that worked on it. The truck has modifications (that we were aware of), but we were unaware the transmission itself was tuned. The tune that was on it burnt up the transmission. Used vehicles that are sold go through an inspection. If the transmission fluid would have been checked, they would have saw that the oil was BURNT and had METAL FLAKES in it prior to selling it to us. We trusted the delearship to sell us a truck that was in great working condition considering that it was 60k. Once we found out the transmission needed to be replaced, I went in and talked to the used sales manager to tell him what had happened. He told me he would get with the GM and see what they could do. He never called me back. I went back up there, and I was told he just didn't have time and promised he would get with me soon. I waited 3 weeks - nothing. I went back and talked to a different manager who seemed very concerned and promised me I would get a call back the next day. The first manager I spoke to did call me the next day, but proceeded to tell me that he kept getting shot down (which was the first I heard of this). I asked for the inspection report and also the listing of the truck so I could have more info. I stopped by later that day to get the additional info on the truck I requested and spoke to an entirely different manager. He gave me the "inspection" which was just a list of recommendations from the tech that inspected it. I was not given anything that proved they actually checked off boxes for the inspection. They also couldn't give me the original listing or anything else on the truck. The manager was extremely rude and aggressive and kept telling me "well you bought it as is". I understand I bought it as is. I paid for the repairs. I never asked them to pay for them. They offered to try to help and then became irritated with me when I kept checking to see if they had been able to talk to anyone. I called one of the managers that seemed to actually care most and left a voicemail - no call back. I would 100% NOT RECOMMEND buying a used vehicle from this dealership. Once you're out the door, they could care less about you and the "inspected" vehicle. The managers seem nice only to get you to leave, and they will not "help" you out anyway they can. I put my trust in this dealership to sell me a good quality vehicle, and in return I am treated like crap when I am only asking for more info on the truck. Their customer service is horrible. I was also told the previous owner had some type of connections with someone at the dealership, and I also got in contact with him and he told me he was having issues prior to trading it in - so it was a problem before I even purchased it. To have to pay 8k after just paying 60k for a truck is ridiculous. I strongly suggest NOT BUYING FROM THEM. read more

They Had my car for 6 months and I drove it there with having a cold engine tap , and now 6 months later I get a call telling me they can't fix it that I will need to have it towed from there . It's a 2016 kia with 20000 miles !!! And under warranty !
