Had a bad experience the first time I used this service department, and obviously nothing has changed. Decided to give them another try, as the first time they had just transitioned to a new owner. However, go with your first impression ALWAYS! This second time, I asked and confirmed not once, but twice with the service coordinator who called to confirm my appointment, that a $25 promotional discount was applied to my service appointment. Well, it wasn't and the service person who waited on me would not honor the discount. I don't know who manages this place, but the level of employees working in service is 00-1! WILL NOT ALLOW MYSELF TO BE TAKEN AGAIN!!! Toyota of Covington is my next dealership of choice... and, I WILL file a report with the Better Business Bureau this time. read more

My experience with the service department was not good. Difficult to even schedule an appointment (in fact had to call the manager to do so) and then after they examined my Bluetooth for an hour and a half while I waited, they said that they needed another few hours to diagnose the problem. The only shining star was Val!!! He's going above and beyond to rectify this situation for me. He is a first rate indiviual... truly cares about his clients and is sincere and hardworking. It is very hard to reach the dealership directly by phone. I put my 2022 Tundra in for a recall regarding engine replacement on Thursday August 7, 2025 and was assured of a two day turn around. Today is Wednesday August 13, and nobody has called to confirm my truck is ready, or tell me when it will be available for me to pick it up. I have called repeatedly but have only been able to reach a call center or leave messages. When i di get a call back from the "service" advisor, she said my truck would either be ready late Tuesday August12 or morning of Wednesday August 13. After numerous calls nobody has called me back to confirm my truc is available for pick up. This is not even adequa communication and certainly is poor service. read more

Made a routinely scheduled service appointment through Carlock Toyota Slidell's website. Service was performed as expected. Paid invoice and still have my copy. Invoice included multi-point inspection, as I had requested in making the appointment. Unlike previous service received at this location, after waiting a few days I never received the results of the multi-point inspection. I then requested it through the website. Never had any response to this. About 10 days after service appointment, I tried calling to request it. Call was forwarded to a voice mail, asking me to leave a message, name and number, and they would call me back. Never received a call back. I finally decided to go to this dealership's service department and ask for a copy in person, which was successful. read more

On another note, the others should perhaps do something about the car wash, because it's been down during each of my visits besides the first wash over the last few months. Scheduled my first oil change with Julie after buying a brand new 2025 Camry. Showed up to be told I wasn't getting an oil change that I was only getting my tires rotated which would take an hour and 15 min to do even though I had an appt. Julie had an attitude from the time I schedule the appt to the day I came in. She clearly does not like being at work. I could hear her complaining about everything while I was in the lobby waiting for my car. 3 hours later, I came back after I bump into something and a censor came on saying system malfunction to be told they do nothing to fix this and I would have to take it to a body shop. Julie's comment "Well I didn't back into something you did" I will never return to the service dept because of Julie. Clint however is top tier and I will always refer to him. Sent out with damp mats and dirty floors (not even waxed). Paperwork was a 2.....improper licensing and took forever to process simple cash paperwork. They didn't introduce Service to us. All considered, a 3 now, but with some attention to detail, and more attention to our requests, could easily be a 4 or 5. read more

I'll keep this simple, this dealership exercises highly dishonest business practices. The salesman I was dealing with refused to return $500 in earnest money for a vehicle that was supposed to arrive that week but never did. When I spoke to the salesperson he said OH! that $500 was nonrefundable. I reminded him, I specifically asked him if I would get my earnest money back if I didn't purchase the vehicle, HE SAID YES. Now he denies saying that . This is absolutely not true. I've bought to many cars in my life to agree to something like that. This place used to be simple, but ever since the ownership change, it has become a Kafkaesque nightmare. Today I called three separate times, and each time I was trapped in their endless phone maze. I'd be told to hold for service, then eventually get a live person--only to be told again that I was being transferred to service. One rep even told me she was with Toyota Service, until I told her what I needed. Then she said she'd have to forward me to service. Wait--aren't you service? No, she's with the new "service scheduling department," who apparently... can't schedule service? It's a frustrating, circular mess. Man if this is how this dealership is going with new leadership then idk how much longer it's gunna last. My mom bought her car from this dealership (before everything changed) she loved it and the dealership. Now her car has 15k miles and started having an oil leak. We had it looked at to check for an oil leak, since Toyota of Slidell didn't answer the phone after we called multiple times and was sent over to voicemail after being directed to service. An oil leak was found around the oil pan gasket and ONLY the gasket, everywhere else on the engine was spotless. Finally got a hold of this dealership and explained our worry because hello oil needs to stay in the engine. They quickly said they would look at it and fix it today if they found a leak. After they looked at it they determined it was "residual" and just needed to be cleaned off. I don't think they understand what residual is. If there was another leak that wasn't cleaned or if the oil pan had already been repaired and wasn't cleaned THEN it would be residual. The fact is the oil pan IS leaking. Instead of handling the situation and repairing oil pan they just wasted our time and sent the car off with an oil leak that will need to get "cleaned" off again in a week. Knowing how the service department works from experience the way my mother was treated here is a joke... also don't forget they did all this without writing the car up to show that a attempt was made to get the car fixed and documented. read more

I had my Lexus' oil changed here. They said my front brakes needed to be done and the service rep told me the cost would be around $250. I said okay and they ordered the parts. I then get an email from them and it had an estimate for the service. It was for $187.84 - AWESOME!!! I got called in and did the service. The charges were $350!!! I questioned the cost and they "adjusted" the cost so that it came to $300.74 still!!! When I showed the estimate to them they basically ignored me. We even test drove a vehicle while waiting because I was really looking to build a relationship with a dealership that I could trust. So disappointed. Where do I begin? I was in search of a vehicle and decided I would try Toyota this time around. My husband and I go to this location and a sales guys comes out. We tell him exactly what we are looking for but they don't have it. Please note: my dad is a car salesmen and had already informed us of the car and chip shortages so we knew it wouldn't be easy to find a car. But we really needed a car fast because my car was beyond its last leg. The salesman was not knowledgeable. He had very general answers to my questions during the test drive and wasn't very friendly. He look hot and ready to leave. Anyway we decide to drive out to the Covington Toyota which is where I found the Toyota I was looking for. Totally over paid for it but that the times we are living in. Fast forward thousands of dollars and a promise that i could get my car serviced at any Toyota location later, something happens to my car where i had to schedule maintenance. So i call and speak to a service representative set up an appointment and asks her if there will be a shuttle that day because i have to get back to my house due to work. She assured me there would be someone to bring me back home once i drop the car off. Service day arrives and i ask about the shuttle. She says sure let me call him and let him know you are ready to be picked up. During her cal the other service guy interrupts telling her to tell the shuttle driver that his guy needs to be picked up. She tells him then tells me it's a 15 minute wait. Now remember how i was reassured that i would be able to get right back home without issue? So i go wait in the lobby. Nearly 20 minutes has passed. I go up to her desk to ask where the shuttle is. She says oh he's coming. He is on the way. I say well it's been 20 minutes and i really need to get back to work. She says he's coming. So at this point i felt as though she was totally ignoring my pleas. So i go to one of the ladies in the payment area to asks if this was a common issue and was there a way she could help. She says we never know where he is and chuckles which i found very irritating because what is so funny about not knowing where your team members are? When i realized speaking to her was a waste of time I then go to ask the other service guy where the lady helping me had gone and if the shuttle would be here shortly. He points to her helping another customer. She comes in and i say hey what's going on the shuttle guy isn't here and i really have to get going. At this point it's been 35 minutes. This lady then says well your car is going to be ready in 15 minutes. I beg your pardon? So I'm waiting for my car? Ma'am i specifically asked if there would be a shuttle to bring me back home. If i knew i would have to wait i would have came a different day or made other arrangements. When she saw that i was frustrated ( i didn't yell but i did share my disappointment) she then states she was sorry but honestly her sorry didn't seem genuine. She tells me she would call me when the part came in which was supposed to be in 2 days. I asked how long can i drive with the car this way and am i in danger. She states she doesn't recommend that i drive it that way because it was dangerous. I guess it wasn't that dangerous because I never received a call. Never!!! I decided i didn't want to speak to her after not being contacted so i instead reached out to the manager several times. Guess what? He never returned my call. So then i reached out to the general manager. Guess what? He never return my call either. I even tried having someone paged over the intercom. The customer service lady told me both the manager and general manager were in the building each time i called. So i can just assumed they didn't want to be bothered with my issue. Save yourself the trouble and just don't buy a car from this place or go there for service because they obviously could careless about the fact that my car was a "danger to drive" (as told to me by the service lady who was dishonest about shuttle service) . Instead i had to drive to Covington to get my car serviced and will do so forever because I'm never going back to this place. Totally unprofessional and had many many chance to rectify this mistreatment and chose not to. I was pleased with the Covington location. They got me in and out. I didn't include any names because I do understand that this is just a job to these people. There are levels to every profession. They don't currently have high standards in their customer relations area. What i hope is that they read unfavorable reviews and try to adjust their behavior in order to better serve our community. Although they won't have a chance to recover what could have been a long time relationship with me as a customer, at least they will have an opportunity to help someone else have a more enjoyable experience by making these changes. tl;dr I had an extremely negative experience working with sales at Toyota of Slidell. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone due to the lack of transparency and dishonesty throughout the process. Full Story I reached out inquiring about a 2022 Rav-4 Hybrid. I spoke with a salesperson via text, explaining I had a baby at home and could not come in. She said that she could discuss vehicle information and pricing via text. I asked if they had an LE. I was told no, they had two SEs and an XLE that would be available in three weeks. I asked for the final price for the XLE and then the "out the door" price with all taxes and fees included. I was told the fees would total $3,759.15. I countered the "out the door" price with a lower price and was told that my price range would be better suited for an LE. Having originally asked for an LE, I asked if they had one. I was told they could order a blue one that would be ready in 3 weeks (the same timeline for the XLE - yet that was never mentioned to me when I was specifically inquiring about an LE!). This is where I should have walked away, as it was clear here that this dealership was not interested in being transparent. By this time, it was Friday evening and I decided to take a break for a few days. On Monday, I texted back asking for the final price for the LE. First, they told me they did not have one available. I sent them the screenshot saying they could get me one in three weeks from our conversation on Friday and then they told me they did have one available after all, but in white. I did not care at all about color, which I told them several times. I asked the price and "out the door" price for the LE. I was told the taxes and fees would total $3,790. This $30 more than the fees for the XLE. The LE was about $3,000 cheaper and the fees should have been less, not more, as taxes would been less. When I asked why the fees were $30 more, the salesperson vehemently claimed that I was incorrect (I was not - I recalculated many, many times). The manager then started calling my phone and both insisted I needed to come in. Clearly, they did not want to keep putting these things in writing where I could easily double-check their math and keep a record of their own quotes. Eventually, the salesperson told me that this price included "state fees/documentation" that was never mentioned in the "out of door" price for the XLE. I offered to pay for the asking price of the car, the relevant taxes, plus only the fees I was originally told about and was told no. The difference was only $378.25. They stated they could not lower the price because they were unable to "negotiate with the state of Louisiana." I pointed out that the $425 doc fee was not to the state of Louisiana and they said it was their "notary service changes" and "non-negotiable." Clearly, they were willing to lose my business rather than admit they had randomly increased the fees when I inquired about the LE. It is really sad to think I would have a car and they would have had a sale if they would have just budged on this $30 in the beginning when I first pointed out the discrepancy in charges. However, by continually doubling down on the discrepancy and pulling out more hidden fees, they lost my business forever. At this point, I was fed up and walked away from the deal. It was never about the price difference; it was about the dishonest business practices that lacked transparency. If they were willing to be so manipulative this early in the process, I had no faith that they would not try to insert more hidden fees as I progressed through the process. I refuse to invest my time and money into a shady business. If you want to work with an honest, upfront dealership, this is NOT the place to go. I would be happy to pay another dealership MORE money for the same car if I was treated with respect and honesty. read more

I do not recommend this location at all. Customers aren't treated equally. A Caucasian woman was treated very nicely, she received all of her recommendations and was given the opportunity to decide if she wanted to proceed with service. Also, she was given several options with replacing her tires. However, my vehicle was already parked outside of the work area before I was even given my recommendations. When given a quote for tires, I only was given one expensive option. I was really upset by this because I was actually going to let them complete the recommendations. I also asked for a copy of the recommendations to get my car serviced by someone else and I was told it would be emailed to me. At this point, I shutdown and didn't want to spend a penny more here. It's really sad that it's 2022 and this is still going on. Also, it has been an hour and I still don't have any recommendations in my email. I refuse to spend my money here. read more

I've dealt with a lot of Toyota dealerships, so that's not a compliment I use very often. She's personable, honest and extremely knowledgeable. She is the reason I went there to buy my new truck. When I went to pick the car up they could barely even find it and then presented me with a $1973 repair estimate claiming it needed a new wiring harness. The next morning I took the car to Mike at Slidell Easy Lube and had it fixed in an hour for $87. Don't trust these guys!! To the owner of this business go there check on your people. They run the service department like clowns! I took my vehicle there for routine service that came with the new truck. They could not even rotate the ties without scratching and damaging all of them. I called and informed them after I got home and noticed no one call me back. So I went over there talk to the manager he act like it's no big deal and that it happens because of the way to rims are made. But they said they would fix it so I bring it back to get the rims fixed. All they did was hire a blonde kid with a paint kit to touch it up. He listed out all of the options and helped me choose which was best. I absolutley love my car and how much my monthly payment is compared to other places. My ratings for this business has gone down for the following reasons; Toyota Verified doesn't seem to mean anything. Within 3 weeks I've had to deal with a busted windshield, a cracked taillight and a corroded battery. The windshield now has a crack that is in 3 directions and about 5 ft long. The taillight which had a hairline crack splinter, which was unnoticeable until I cut my wrist on it, washing the truck, wouldn't come off so I had to break it more and buy a new taillight. The truck lost power when I was in the middle of nowhere. Further inspection found neither the pos or neg terminals were tightened on and were easily pulled off with my hand. This due to the dealership having to clean all the corrosion of the terminals when I got the truck. Obviously the repair shop doesn't do diligent work. The cowl pan for the windshield is warped and the seal along the bottom of the windshield will not stay in place, this was pointed out by the safelitte repair person. All this for a 2013 tundra with 30k miles and barely a month old. My conversation to the sales mgr with a promised callback.......never returned. read more

My husband and I took his truck in because it was leaking power steering fluid. The gentleman who helped us was a little bit rude and condescending, he seemed to go out of his way to make us feel stupid. But, we went ahead and set up an appointment to have it looked at. We told him it was possibly the rack and Pinion which was covered by our extended warranty. After dropping the truck off and paying the almost $100 diagnostic fee, we received a call that it was not the rack and Pinion, it was the high-pressure line and would cost over $1000 to fix. My husband bought the line for around $100 (The dealership quoted over $500) and replaced it himself. The fluid was still leaking. Took it to another mechanic and were informed that it was indeed the rack and Pinion and was covered by our extended warranty. Total out-of-pocket cost would be $100, it had been approved and would be ready the next day. I'm not sure If the original Toyota mechanic was incompetent or if this was some sort of scam to get us to pay out-of-pocket and then turn around and have the warranty company pay for the rack and Pinion. Either way, it was completely botched and we will never go there again! read more

This is the best dealership! They have the most awesome service. I bought a new Highlander and love the car. The salesman was not pushy and was knowledgable about the car. After buying the car, they went over every detail of the car and set up the bluetooth with my phone, downloaded the app for the car (yes the car has its own app) set up my accounts so that I can use the car's amazing features. I returned later in the week to have the interior perma plate installed (which protects the interior for 7 years) not only did they give me a loaner car but they actually delivered my car to my home and picked up the loaner car.
