After a quick Google search of "dentist near me," I stumbled upon Dr. Chris Mountford and the Mountford & Ruszkowski Family Practice. Dr. Mountford called me back immediately. Within 45 minutes, he opened up his practice in his snow gear and with his son in tow. My son's tooth was treated and put back in place within an hour. Dr. Mountford did an excellent job. The tooth looks like it never happened. We will always remember his kindness. If you are fortunate enough to live in the area and are looking for a dentist, I highly recommend!!!

So I'm here in Michigan currently eating Doritos because you guys. I found my new orthodontist! Okay I'm not eating Doritos yet. I had my initial consultation an hour ago. I had to transfer services here from Tampa. So I saw the lady Glupker. I think Leslie. She was super nice, explained my transfer and gave me an estimate of treatment time. I was expecting maybe four months. It's going to be more like seven. I don't care. I was done paying my orthodontist in Tampa off. I now owe 30% down plus my monthly payment of 135. They did not do a credit check. Some other payment plans may be different but they seem pretty flexible. They do not take care credit. The office staff was SUPER friendly. They seem flexible on hours. I'm excited to start my treatment and will update accordingly.

I was assured that they were. However, after our visits, we received a bill for more than $300 for services that we believed would be covered by insurance. When I contacted the billing department multiple times to resolve the issue, I was told that the office charges more than what my insurance allows for a cleaning. Had this been explained upfront, I could have made a more informed decision about receiving care there. I was also disappointed with how the billing situation was handled. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the matter, no meaningful resolution was offered. We even received a past-due notice before ever receiving a proper statement outlining the charges. The clinical experience itself was not particularly positive. The hygienist was chewing gum during the appointment and was not especially gentle. My son was given fluoride treatment without anyone discussing it with me beforehand or asking for permission. The office environment also felt dated and less welcoming than other dental practices we have visited locally. Overall, between the unexpected charges, lack of communication regarding costs, billing frustrations, and the quality of the patient experience, this was not a positive experience for our family. I would encourage anyone considering this office to carefully verify all costs in writing before receiving treatment.
