I had an encounter in this store this morning that was completely unacceptable and I will not be returning. I was in the self checkout lane, scanned my groceries and selected the pay now option which I have done hundreds of times. I then tapped my card and was directed on the screen to "please wait" and then began that dreaded "circle of death". I waited several minutes and then thinking the "pay now" button didn't work I pressed it again, and again and again - at least three times. Look folks, this was an EASY fix. When I called for help the guy snapped at me while pressing the "pay now" option that all I had to do was "press the button". I tried to explain that I had already done that several times but it didn't work which is why I called him over for help. He snapped again arguing with me that I couldn't have pressed the button and that's all I needed to do. Why did this matter? Why are you ARGUING with a customer? Why are you trying to make me look and feel stupid when that is NOT necessary! He continued arguing with me and me repeatedly saying "I DID press the button it didn't work I called you for help not to get yelled at why are you arguing with me?" This was COMPLETELY unnecessary. I did speak with the manager who said he would address it, but this situation was completely avoidable and completely unnecessary. Be kind people, and when someone asks for help just help them don't make a big deal out of it. Customer lost now for good!

So kind, friendly and thoughtful that it really took me by a surprise. I would say make sure you hire more like this one, but I'm afraid she's such a rarity that I'll just say hang onto her while you can because she's better for your business than even the super low prices in my estimation! Today when I entered the weed California grocery outlet I was summarily asked to leave and told I could never shop there again. Even though my dog has been thoroughly trained to disregard extraneous stimulants. I was not asked to leave. I was told to leave under conditions that I would consider assault. That is loud voices commands, overbearing authority and plain rudeness. I left the store because the confrontation with the clerks was becoming either a slugfest or a shootout. These are the most rude people I have ever encountered. I understand from the weed California police that the owner Rodney Barr cares for his own disabled brother. Maybe he should tell his employees. I will be trying to contact the owner. This deserves more attention than he's been paying to his store. It's outrageous

After several years of shopping at Holiday Market I have grown to understand that their meat…read moredepartment is seriously lacking. They don't subscribe to the usual country-wide USDA meat standards at all, instead push some off brand "sterling silver" stuff that they call the top 2/3ths of choice meats. They don't label things (like everywhere else) as select, choice or prime. That's the USDA standard across the USA. I discovered WHY they don't do that--they don't want to invest in a trained meat grader. It takes money to achieve the USDA standards. So if you buy any beef from them it's a complete gamble. Toss your dice, instead of your money away. I called them three times to get the manager's attention to this problem but she never bothered to return my calls. If you break down and buy their stuff just be prepared to have to return it--they don't trim the excessive fat off anything. Their logic--force the buyer to have to pay for it. Being choice fundamentally means we are being denied the ability to purchase quality beef at all from Holiday Market. Apparently it's quite common for customers to have to return meats. Other than beef, we have discovered other meats to be spoiled--literally rotten. Fortunately, it was so rotten we avoided eating it so as not to get food poisoning. On the positive side Holiday Market has a great in-store pharmacy and excellent employees (other than a non-responsive manager).
