I needed to have my Viking range repaired and was horrified to read some of the reviews out there of various repair companies. Also, the very few that I would consider did not repair Viking ranges. Luckily I found Lakeside and Don Lewis. Don is professional, courteous, FAIR, and a great diagnostician. Don was able to pinpoint the issue with my range immediately, called the supply center for Viking parts, and was back at my home within the week making the repair. His price seemed very fair. Don showed up on time and was greeted by my dog. Don didn't ask me to put him away even though my dog can be very "nosey." I needed my ice maker repaired after my water was turned off when my water heater died. Well, Don told me what I suspected and didn't try to sell me on some useless repairs. As a first time homeowner when my refrigerator started to malfunction it was a big deal to me. I contacted them and they got back to me the same day. I explained what was happening, gave them the details requested, and they told me they could be at my place the next day with the parts needed for repair, and gave me a quote. The repairman showed up the next day, got to work immediately, and was done in less than 30 minutes. It cost me less than (a few dollars or so) what was quoted which is always a good thing. Don is a stand up guy and this is a great company to use. When I first called he could've let me make a repair appt and taken advantage, but he didn't. He was kind and honest enough to tell me to call Samsung first since it could be under recall for the issue I was having. My dishwasher broke down and I was given 2 referrals. I called Don at Lakeside and he was booked for several days and couldn't get out same day. I explained the problem and he told me the likely issue and what it would or should cost. So I mistakenly called the second reference who came out right away but couldn't diagnose and couldn't communicate effectively. I paid him for the service call but wasn't happy. Called Don back and he got me on his schedule for Monday (called him Thursday). He found the problem immediately (exactly what he said over the phone). Also fix a blocked drain in my freezer. Was great to deal with and is not our appliance guy for anything I would need. I recommend him to anyone. Fair prices and honest. I learned that I should interview on the phone more and learned it's better to go with who is best - not who is available immediately. read more

Don sets the standard for how good businesses should be run.... 1. He's quick to reply. He rarely answers because he's a busy guy. I called multiple times and he was very responsive returning my calls ~30mins. 2. He was very flexible. He visited multiple times and squeezed me in some tight windows. 3. He was honest and looked out for the customer first. I had an issue that could either be related to my dryer or the vent. He recommended to clean out the vent first rather than "fix" the dryer as the vent could have been the root cause. Eventually we had to do both but I appreciated his expertise and recommendation. 4. I have used this repair service in the past. They are as good as I remembered. They worked me into the schedule, and got here within minutes of his estimated time. The problem was, as he explained to me on the phone, before seeing anything. Simply working from my description. The parts he identified were obviously in distressed condition, and he had the parts in his truck. It took approx. 20 minutes for everything. He cleaned up and took the trash with him. My dishwasher stopped working when my kitchen pipes froze. My plumber who came out to help me with the frozen pipes thought it was a solenoid valve that was affected. I called Don Lewis, the owner, highly recommended by a sister of mine , on Tuesday of this week. He felt bad that he didn't think he could come out before Friday of this week. I went with Lakeside Appliance repair for my crappy Samsung Fridge- Don was awesome and honest. We had a discussion on that and I told him how I caught other services trying to screw me over. He is not going to ruin his reputation by being dishonest. I know enough about repairs to know he was honest and forthright. Anyway, he thought it might be my compressor /cooling system leaking, so he hooked it up to charge the system. Found out the pressure was good which then indicates a bad compressor (which is exactly what I was guessing anyway due to the noises it was making). He only charged the the service call fee of $59. I will not replace the compressor (about $1,000), going to just buy a new fridge that is NOT SAMSUNG. I am tired of doing the repairs on this Samsung. Going to post this on google too read more

Our fridge died (we thought) and they were able to come the next day! Can't say enough good things about this business-prompt, professional, knowledgeable and honest. Turned out fridge started working again after he checked it over but he said to call tomorrow if any issue and he'd come back, no add'l service charge. And he even checked out microwave issue since he was here and gave us a source for repair since he doesn't deal with small appliances. Appreciate the honest quick service. Don is a true professional. Reasonable prices, honest, and true to his word. We had a Samsung Washer that gave us an error code, Don came out to replace the bad sensor, but issue continued. Don came back out at no additional cost other than the board replacement part and after replacing it, did not even charge unless he knew it was fixed.
